Obama’s Same-sex Marriage Support Reinstate Debates
Some four years ago, US President Barack Obama was asked by Saddleback Church pastor, Rick Warren, to define marriage. “I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman,” he said. “For me, as a Christian, it is also a sacred union.” Three years later, he said his views were evolving, for the reason that he has “very close friends who are married gay and lesbian couples.” But now, as he runs for re-election, Pres. Obama officially declares his support for legalizing same-sex marriage with events such as “Gala with the Gay Community” and a Gay Pride reception at the White House. Whether his support was declared for political reasons or because he thinks it is right, a debate was stirred again for both sides to review their stand for or against same-sex marriage.
