A question of how people become successful.

I want to be an author. I want to be a singer. I want to be a rich businessman. And the list goes on and on. For sure everyone wants something in life, a dream.

I love to imagine myself having all or any of these dreams coming true. It gives me a little glimpse of what I want to see in the future. With a little tease of my future self, I find myself gaining a little more confidence of myself. Imagining however isn’t enough.

As we face the real world through the day to day endeavors, we realize that being and having what we want isn’t exactly as easy as how fairy tales tell us to be. I want to be an author and I want to publish my own book. I know about it. As I discover my deeper sense of passion in writing and meet a lot of people sharing the same dream of being an author, little by little I realize being a successful author takes more than just writing skills itself. Many people have tried publishing their own book and many of them failed.

I wanted to be a singer. Singing gives me a different joy. As I watch reality talent shows like American Idol, The Voice and X-Factor, I realize many people also wanted the same thing. A lot of them dared to audition for their dream to become a singer and a lot of them also have their dreams crashed in an instant right in front of their eyes. That would be very devastating. I saw very talented people (I think) worthy of the chance but not all of them got the real shot.

The same is true to become a businessman. Many have tried but many have also been bankrupt.

Being a singer isn’t enough. Being an author isn’t enough. Being a businessman isn’t either enough. You have to have a name to be considered successful in any of these areas. In short, you have to be famous for what you do. A singer is called successful after winning awards and having sold out records and concerts. An author is considered “real” author whenever the book receives a “best seller” label. A businessman is considered tycoon whenever the assets soar hundreds of millions. If I wouldn’t reach those levels of stardom, then I wouldn’t be considered successful! Isn’t it ridiculous?

Some say we need to standout to be successful in what we want. How are we going to do that? Some say we need to be passionate of what we do. But there are so many people who are very talented and skilled and passionate who stayed “unsuccessful”.

If talent and skills and passion are NOT enough, then what else should we need to have? The question of how to become successful then remains a question.

Determine success in any situation.

Look at your life and ask yourself Why? Why have you been where you’ve been? Why did you work that Job? Why did you make that choice? Why? As you think about this, you’ll more than like likely reach a simple conclusion… You did it, to take whatever situation you were in, and make it a better one. Even if it didn’t work out, we always are striving to better our personal situations. To be Successful! If your still wondering what went wrong here is a simple formula to figure it out: Attitude+Perspective= Success
Lets brake it down, what is Attitude? According to dictionary.com attitude is
the manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc., with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, especially of the mind. so, our attitude is the way we look at things, and determines what position we will take. A good attitude can determine the quality of ones life!
Next we have Perspective. By definition, Perspective is a way of regarding situations, facts, etc, and judging their relative importance. So depending on our perspective, any situation, or object could be a lot better than what we originally thought! A simple and well known quote says “never judge a book by its cover.” We know that this is referring to jumping to conclusions before knowing the true value, or importance of any given object or being.
What is success? Success is simply a “favorable outcome to something attempted” (dictionary.com) so look at a story like that of Thomas Edison and the light bulb? if you had entered the process on his 500th try, you wouldnt think him to be successful. or what about on his 800th try? You probably would walk away without a second thought. But when he finally got it right on his 1000+ try, Edison said that “he did not fail 1000+ times, it was simply a 1000 step process success.”
Now that we have seeing both attitude and perspective in more detail, what happens if we bring them together? All those situations that we took the time to think about; all those times in our lives that we weren’t so sure about. Sometimes we look back once we gained the right perspective, and we realize that what seemed really bad or hard, really helped us along. Those things that we didn’t understand then, helped us have a better attitude towards things now. Success does not mean riches, glory, fame, or any promise of being the best compared to the world. Success happens inside us. Which is why when we take the right attitude and combine it with a little perspective, we can be successful in any of the trials of life!

Using Your Subconscious Mind To Acheive Success.

Continued from part 1

In this part we’re going to discuss the key to success. Anyone can learn how to be successful the key to success isn’t a mystery. Actually it’s something that you’ve done on many occasions in your life. You know, when you wanted something, you wanted that job, you wanted that new apartment. All you did was to focus on what you wanted, and eventually it materialised!

How To Be Successful By Using Your Subconscious Mind

All you did was make pictures in your mind of what you desired and a little later on you received them. So if you wish to be successful you need to practise a few of the following…

Make a clear colourful picture in your mind of what you want. Then picture it everyday.

Make sure you are a 100% sure that you will achieve your goals. Even if you have some doubt, just picture yourself achieving your dreams no matter what.

When you make pictures in your mind, try to also visualize what it would be like or feel like to be living your dream. Make it up as you go along.

Don’t be afraid to fantasise as much as you want. Even if your fantasies are wild. This will send a strong and clear message to your subconscious what you want.

Try to avoid negative people and negative articles. These people and articles are of little use to you if you’re trying to achieve big goals.

Don’t pin your success on other people or situations that may or may not be. You must make your own success and take responsibility for everything you do.

Use positive affirmations on a daily basis. When you use affirmations make sure you use the present tense. Your subconscious will more readily understand it, if it’s in the present.

Set your goals so that they don’t conflict with anything you dislike or find morally objectionable. For example it’s no use wanting to be a successful fur coat supplier if you hate the idea of animals being killed for their fur.

Another big key to success is never ever lose sight of your goals. Keep going everyday until what you see in your head becomes a reality!

Who knows maybe someday someone will ask you how to be successful, if so you’ll be in a great position to advise them. Success!

.

Just What Is Success?

What is success? How can we define it? And just how does one know when we have it? Well to many people being successful means something along these lines…

Rich. Lots of money, Financially independent.

Great girl on your arm or guy.

Lots of friends.

Glamorous social life, high end partying etc.

Living in your ideal house or setting.

However, this is only half the story. Many people see the above as the epitome of success! The reason that they never achieve it is because they try to aspire to the above, and in a lot of cases simply can’t get there. They then become disheartened and give up trying altogether. In other words they just except their lot in life and that’s the end.

A lot of the above can be blamed on the media and the constant brain washing day in and day out. It’s no wonder ordinary folk believe the above to be the perfect blueprint to success. In reality success can mean different things to different people. For example lots of people would like to have loads of money! When you ask them why they want so much money they’ll tell you things like well if I had a lot of cash…

I’d be financially sound = Not have to worry about getting work etc.

If we really examine this. What the person is really in need of is not so much money, but security. Maybe if the person got the career he or she wanted, then they wouldn’t be craving money all the time. So it doesn’t always boil down to money!

For a lot of people who are constantly wondering how to be successful in life the answer is not always the above. I know it’s hard to swallow but the vast majority of us will not be…

Earning lots of money.

Racing fast cars.

Have hot models on our arms.

Have luxury second and third homes in exotic locations.

Living the life of a playboy.

Sorry to shatter the dream for a lot of folks out there. That does not stop anyone from living the dream, and having a successful life. One can easily learn how to be successful, and enjoy life to the full whilst doing the things you want to do! Real success is within everyone’s grasp, and we’ll explain our plan to put you on the road to it soon. Part 2: How To Be Successful And Enjoy Life For The Ordinary Person.
What does success mean to you? If you were to die tomorrow, would you be able to say your life had been a success?

What does success mean to you? If you were to die tomorrow, would you be able to say your life had been a success?

Too many people let others define what success means. It could be the parents, the partners, or society in general. If you let this happen, you will never be truly happy.

Live your life as you want it. Life is short, you never know when the end will come.

If you don’t have a personal definition of success, let me help you. The following are some guidelines you can use in your personal journey.

Solo travel can broaden your horizons. © Aleah

Know yourself. What do you want from life? What is it that makes you truly happy? What do you feel most passionate about? Always ask questions. Remember that nothing is fixed; everything is in flux. Enjoy it. Live it.

Do something you are passionate about. When you are passionate about something, you keep on going forward. You feel more alive. Whether success or failure comes, you are motivated to go on because of that passion. Learn from the story of Steve Knowlton, who, despite his illness, ran 142 marathons daily for 100 days!

Have a plan. Sure, life does happen which will change your plan, but having one is better than none at all. It will guide you and keep you on the path. It will give you perspective.

Keep an open mind. The world is a big place, everyone is different, everyone has something to offer. The best way to do this is to travel, and nothing beats solo travel to broaden your horizons.

Be thankful for your life. You are alive. Make sure that you don’t waste it on regrets, what-ifs, and looking back at the past. You are here, now. Make the most of it.

How about you? What rules do you follow?

"There is no elevator to success, you must climb for it." What does it inflict to individuals?

It is not argumentative to say, individuals have their own way to reach the top. Most prefer their way than to listen and follow other’s advice. Sometimes no matter how much the elders persuade or influenced them with decisions, they still try and tend to experience defeat, failure, or downfalls. Sometimes it is a must to experience such before being able to take the right path. A plain sail journey is not for everybody. It’s a hard work plus luck.

But what matters most is how one defines, redefines, or measures success. It is an individual perspective. It depends on how one sees it and from what lens – selfish or unselfish. However, it will end to one sure destination that is honesty to oneself.

Goals and objectives. One will not reach success without a direction, without a goal. Therefore, the first step would be goal setting. Afterwards, set objectives, but make sure to set them base on individual’s yardstick, knowledge, skills, talents, and will. Never ever set ones that are too far or impossible to reach because that would only lead one to frustration and failure. Be realistic.

Motivation. Be motivated or look for an inspiration. It would adjunct to the willingness to reach the top. It would create a different aura to never surrender and double the strive.

Hard work. This is the partner of determination, motivation and willingness. Never take the hard work for granted, but a leading key to a guaranteed success. Let it bring out the best encapsulated for quite a long time. Show it off. Don’t waste time, skills, talents, and knowledge. Strive hard and use them wisely.

Self-control. Always know the limit. Don’t let the id win all the time. There has to be balance, and discipline is a key.

Enthusiasm. A hard work is useless without the fun, excitement, and enthusiasm going. It runs with discipline for without the control, enthusiasm could run wild like horses. But without enthusiasm, reaching the goal would merely make life boring.

Let success rest on one’s hands. Don’t let others take hold of it.

Powerful men can help you, they are the keys to success.

Powerful men are the keys to success. Just like Archimedes’s saying “Give me a place to stand and with a lever I will move the whole world.”, we need a lever to move the globe, we need to meet powerful men that they help us to be powerful to change this world.

If pay attention to the biographies of all those famous persons in history, you will know powerful friends of those famous help them an awful lot in times of crisis, a little help from a powerful man can cause a sudden and complete change in a crisis.

When you know you have similar family/cultural/class backgrounds with someone powerful, you may as well let those powerful men know; as people tend to have sympathy(or fellow feeling) for someone with similar background as them, it means you have a very good chance to maintain a successful and close relationship with them. This is one easy way you can have this relationship with no effort.

Human have to work hard if you are to succeed, it is hard to work alone, assistance given by powerful friends can help and this leads to bring out the best in you as well, it is inevitably the key to multiply your chance of success.

However, you will be of benefit to have assistance from powerful men only when you indeed made a genuine attempt to be friends with them, and not just taking advantages from them. Only a genuine concern for others would bring supports from them. That is why only be a toady is not enough, you also have to have genuine talents and the powerful men fully appreciate your talents.

In times of crisis, most likely people seek help from who really admire them, powerful friends who admire your true talents don’t just give you comforts but a solid and practical advice and professional opinions about how to solve the problems, achieve the things you want to in your life and work, and finally help you get through difficulties.

It's really not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. It takes a little obvious information that everyone seems to forget to think about. Read further, take the first step to success. After reading this, I can assure you, being the one in a Million won't be as hard as you thought.

Everyone wants success. Whether you a man or women, adult or child, stud or slouch, the long for

success is simply wired in your mind. We are humans, we want to make it far. It is in our instincts to want to be

the best we can be. There is a reason why mankind itches to walk on the moon. There is a reason why

mankind reaches for the stars and hopes for success. There is a reason people without success feel

depression and unhappiness. That reason is the goal to live forever. We know not what may happen to us

after we die. We can never be sure. Only through our words and through our actions can we be remembered

in the minds and the spirits of those who live after us. As long as we are forever remembered in the hearts of

our race, we will live forever. The fear of death and long for eternal life keeps us moving forward at speeds and

complexities never though possible. Our own genetic downfall of mortal life is the motive and reason of our

happiness, and in this motive lies the key to success.

It starts with a change of mind set. For most of us, we only pursue goals we deem possible to reach. We

think of being successful simply as a 1 in a Million chance. We leave our success up to chance. In order to

achieve success, we must first acknowledge the most incomprehensible thought ever to make its way into our

heads. We don’t realize that chance is on our side. One in a million, sounds right doesn’t it? If you compare

those who make it far to those who don’t, than one in a million is a perfect number, but that is not how reality

works. Compare that one person who makes it far to those who try, and the number becomes much, much

smaller. How many people work hard everyday, trying new things and coming up with new ideas, with the

intent of success and happiness? How many people believe when others doubt? Try when others give up? Run

when others walk? Step up when others step down? Compare those who succeed to those who put in the

same effort it takes to succeed, and your one in a million becomes one in ten.

The common trend to stop pursuit of anything considered unreachable is the mind set that creates failure

to succeed. Anything hard to accomplish should not push away, it should pull us in. There is only a minimum

quantity to how easy something is to achieve. There is a minimum amount of ease any possibility can reach.

There is no sense of accomplishment in journeys that everyone has taken. However, there is no limit to the

level of difficulty beyond the start of a journey. There is no stopping point of impossibility that holds us back.

Our eyes should be set far beyond our capabilities, where success is unlimited and possibilities are endless.

We must take in every challenge with open arms. We must be ready and eager to embrace any obstacle in our

path. Success awaits us when we walk with confidence in every step, in every jump, in every leap we make.

Happiness comes when we realize that while there is a limit to how easy a challenge can be, there is no limit to

how difficult it can be. This is the motive for self-made success.

There is no specific situation that will make you successful. As we discovered before, the possibilities

beyond our thinking capacity is unlimited. There is an unlimited pool of ideas we have to choose from. Success

waits behind the walls of our laziness, our unhappiness, and our contempt. Be unhappy with what you have,

and only long for what truly makes you happy. Why be happy with just you and your family, when you know

you make your family life better. Why be contempt with you and your spouses relationship, when you know

you can improve it, and make your bond stronger? Don’t abandon your challenges, pursue them. Don’t wait for

your time to come to you. You come to it. Only you can decide your own success. Only you can make your own

happiness. Only you can live your own life, and that is the key to success.

This article is basically how people can be successful.

I have heard all through the life that Confidence and Hard work will lead to success. To be true I have seen many unsuccessful people with these qualities because they lack Consistency in their efforts.

Like the ant who tried and tried till she succeed to climb the hill we need to continue our efforts to reach our goal .Most of us set up a goal, strive hand to reach it and if we fail in one or two attempts we get depressed and take our eyes away from the goal. Remember “Rome was not built in a day”.

I had a friend in school who was a very poor learner. He could somehow manage just to get through the exams. After his schooling, unfortunately his mother was detected with cancer. That was the time he realized his role as a son. This boy who was nowhere in the list of students with good grades was now always among them. I asked him the reason for success and he replied

”I was never intelligent but I now believe in consistent hard work.”

Once I had attended a seminar on yoga. The presenter was emphasizing on the benefits of asanas and having a balance diet. He told us to have carrot and spinach for good eyesight, soaked almonds for improving memory. A lady from the audience stood up and asked

“I have been doing this for a while but see no benefits”

Presenter replied “A while? How long is that? I had a paralysis attack a year back and could hardly stand on my own. I practiced what I preached and now you can see me standing here and propagating the benefits .You can’t lose weight or get over an illness by practicing it for a while. You should include it in your daily routine. You can be slim or fair in just few days”

Train your lazy bones to work consistently to enjoy the fruits of success.

The article contains the meaning of success and how could it be achieved.

In this small article I have tried to find the meaning and essence of success and what leads to it. I have tried to make it very simple for people who wonder what is actually success and how it can be achieved.

Have you often heard people arguing about whether someone is a successful person or not.You might also have seen people who are thought to be successful by others. At the same time these people are not happy with their lives. So what is the reason. I thought the solution to understanding success and evaluating whether you have achieved success, you should first of all try to define success.

There are hundreds and thousands of quotes and sayings from people known to be successful. I think it is worth mentioning a few of them.

Winston Churchill:

Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.

William Saroyan:

Good people are good because they’ve come to wisdom through failure. We get very little wisdom from success, you know.

William Menninger:

Six essential qualities that are the key to success: Sincerity, personal integrity, humility, courtesy, wisdom, charity.

William Lloyd Garrison:

The success of any great moral enterprise does not depend upon numbers.

Benjamin Disraeli:

The secret of success is constancy to purpose.

These were some of the quotes from so called “successful people”. What i think about these are that they are very general and do not help a person greatly as far as motivation and desire to succeed is concerned. They are rather to show the personality and characteristics of what the “successful person” says.

I have a different perspective to being successful. To me a successful person is the one who is happy or satisfied from his work. Therefore even a street cleaner can be called a successful person according to my definition.

I therefore think that in order to judge whether you are successful or not, it is extremely important that you set goals and aims in your life. These might be short term goals are very long term strategies.

To sum up, you should set goals in your life which could be short or long term. You should constantly check your performance to make sure that you are on the track and working for these goals.

These goals could be anything e.g. “I have to finish my homework by 7 pm”.I you succeed to do so then you are a successful person in the short run. In the long run , to be a successful person, you should work on your long term strategies e.g increasing the sale of your grocery store by 50%.

I hope this article will have helped you at least to know exactly what is success which will help you to work towards your success. Your valuable comments will be greatly appreciated.
