A simple way to solve one of the toughest problems of the world.

Slums are problem in most of the Asian and African countries cities. Governments fed up of this problem. However, I think there is a solution to this problem. It is quite simple too.

The root cause for all slums is the people migrating to the cities in search of their career and jobs. However, due to lack of monetary funds, they build slums.

People will not stop coming unless and until they are getting jobs.

Then,

What is the solution?

It is simple. Governments must make it mandatory for the employer to take care of his employed people residence. An employer not allowed hiring a person, unless and until he has assured a house for the person. This way the problem of slums eliminated.

However, existing people living in slums can relocated to government made houses while the new people coming to the city without proper place to live can be made to stay at some camps for some fixed period of time, say 2-3 months, giving that person time to look for the job and place to stay. If the person is unable to find job, then he/she has to leave the city and need to go back to his hometown or have to migrate to some other city. Now, the person allowed back to the city only if he/she has arranged a place to stay or has stayed away from city for some time, say 3-4 months.

It has several advantages, as follows:

1) Slum problem eradicated.

2) Number of permanent immigrants reduced, since, after the expiry of required time, the person has to leave the city.

3) This will also ensure a decentralized development of country because with limited number of cheap labor available in city, the employer forced to look outside the city to setup a profitable business.

4) This will bring stability to nation.

5) This will cause increase in per capita income.

Hence, one can see that this idea has several advantages, which one cannot neglect.
