Lloyd is a few months away from turning 18, and his high school graduation and 18th birthday coincide. At this point of his life, his main concern is the best way to spend his one-year vacation. As approved by his parents, he will be spending a year away from home before entering college.

Levinson mentioned that adults anticipate that life does begin at 40, which is regrettably the age when life actually ends. It must be considered that there are several articulated outlooks apparently have impacts on the society. First of all, several individuals are transitioning from adolescence to adulthood with the lack of optimism or aspiration. In the case of Lloyd, he agrees to go to college not because his parents forced him to. Neither is it because of his dream to have a college diploma someday. Rather, Lloyd agrees to spend a year vacation and enter college afterward because he perceives college graduation as something that most of his peers normally undergo. By peers, Lloyd is referring to those who have stable families like him.

What this indicates is several individuals in this entire age bracket today do not have sufficient motivation and eagerness. Today, the society in general expects that men around the age of thirty should provide both for their aging parents and their children. The incidence of an ending episode in the life of a man takes place during the midlife transition stage. More often than not, men become keen on humanitarianism acts during this stage as they become more conscious about the inevitability of death.

The core of this theory by Levinson (1996) is life structure, which is an essential pattern of human life at any particular instant. For the most part, the life structure of an individual is formed by his or her physical and social environment. The primary variables involved include family, occupation, race, religion, and status. In Lloyd’s case, it is evident that his family’s economic status and his parents’ values are key to the crucial decisions he has to make as an individual who is transitioning from adolescence to early adulthood. Lloyd personally perceives the influence of his family status to his status quo in general. He also perceives that his family’s race and religion are not strongly influential to his life decisions, considering that his condition is not similar to most people of his age.

Life is all about struggling, so people should never stop doing that, and that just because you will know the worthiness of everything that you might go through.

In today’s world, there is only one thing that can truly bring peace and calmness to the entire world, so people were always seeking for something that could be the best solution for their outnumber problems but, as it seems humans never saw that inside themselves they always had the answer, and this answer is known as humanitarianism.

Sometimes people come up with different ideas about the same issues, and this is a result of acceptance that everyone is free to share what his or her opinion is, about certain things. Therefore trying to be as much reasonable as possible, democracy, peace, freedom, acceptance and many other used name’s that have been called it, is all a result of the main one, known as humanitarianism.

In early ages, there were people who were used by other one’s for their intentions without asking if he was able to do it or not, he was forced to do anything in anyway just to please his owner, this time is known as slavery.

Even today in some parts of the world there are still people who use others in the same way as in the early ages unfortunately, but there were always voices and people which knew that it’s wrong acting like that and these voices have been punished and killed in different ways, so this explains that there were and will be always people who will fight for justice and universal peace and this is humanitarianism.

Some people get stuck with the idea that humanitarianism is all about humans but it’s definitely not just about humans, humanitarianism is about human and nature, we humans are responsible about everything that occurs in the face of our mother earth because as we all know we humans are the supreme created creatures compared to other one’s, so we should care about land animals, birds, see creatures, insects, and today there are many and different organizations and institutions that work on these problems. What I’m trying to say is that our duty is to promote human welfare by making our world as much perfect as it can be, and this can be achieved only throw good deeds, abilities, needs, dignity, freedom that shows the humanitarian spirit.

Finally I would say that humanitarianism is to make people understand that everyone has the right to owe his personal stuff, be free to share whatever, also to come up with anything that might conclude even harmful and poisoning ideas, because of that people can communicate and be patient so they will share and will be together as one for a better future for them and everyone in the whole world.

Expression of an idea, sparking conversation on whether or not human nature is naturally selfish. Looking for comments.

Many people have said that human nature is overrall caring. A lot have said, humans always come through if other humans are in need. The response to Haiti and Chile are always used. But are we really overrall caring.

Think about this, how many times have you driven next to, or walked next to a homeless person, and didn’t give them anything. Regardless of what they would spend the money on, if we are so caring, why don’t we stop and give them anything. A species that is so caring wouldn’t have a problem giving a dime to bring someone else happiness. Yet, Americans don’t want to pay taxes nor pay a little extra for there schools. In Fairfield, California, every household was asked to pay $18 to keep sports in schools. The parents of graduated seniors, and kids who didn’t play sports said they wouldn’t give a thing. They’re logic was that if their kid wasn’t playing, then why should they have to pay. Therefore, sports were cancelled from the school district to close a budget deficit.

All wars are created by one side thinking their ideology is better than another. Isn’t that another sign of ruthless selfishness. If we disagree in this world shouldn’t we agree to disagree, and still be friends. Its seems to me that if human nature is overrall caring, this conclusion would be reality but it isn’t.

Just a thought. Couldn’t we say human nature actually is overwhelmingly selfish. Just think of that toddler who goes through that “mine” phase. The phase where everything they get, the believe is theirs and theirs only. At a very young age we experience selfishness, and don’t want to share. I always thought when we put our own needs over someone elses, that was selfishness. I’m sure everyone puts their needs ahead of others, because if you are hungry and your at your last dollar, do you give it to a homeless person or to yourself. Most would say yourself. But if you spend that dollar on yourself, instead of someone in need thats selfish.

Food for thought. If we all worried about each other, and helped one another, then we wouldn’t have to worry about starving because most likely somone will bring you food. It sucks that we don’t live in that society.

Go through your day thinking about all the things you do, and see if they are selfish or not. I believe we are selfish at nature. We as humans are so selfish that if we give what we have, there isn’t always someone to give back. Making it hard to give, because we end up with nothing. Couldn’t we say that our whole society thrives off of selfishness. People keep their own mouths fed with selfishness. The rich stay rich because of selfishness. We value the haves over the have nots, and the haves try hard to keep the have nots stagnant in their have not position.

If you really look at our lives, is human nature really caring? Or is human nature overwhelmingly selfish? Comment, rate, and take full advantage of this page. www.6dollarriches.com

Find your passion and unlock what you truly want to do. How to listen to your own heart.

There is no life without the discovery and pursuit of passion. As the movie Iris once coined, “Education does not make us happy… but it is the means through which we realize that we are already happy.” The facts along the way help to shape our efficiency, but in the end it is ultimately only important how we are changed by them.

Finding Your Passion

There are so many people in the world who are frustrated, who have lost their own dreams, or have fallen prey to their own self-doubt. It sounds like a simple question, but it is one of the most difficult questions we can ever ask of ourselves: “What do you want?” The generic answers are, of course, happiness, security, fulfillment. Anything in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs would fit into the category of generic answers to this question. Close your eyes. How are you meant to serve others? Take out a piece of paper if you must, and write down the things that you love. Write down the ways you most enjoy helping others, and how you can devote your passions into a lifestyle. Come up with a plan on how you can attain these things. Don’t show this list to anybody, unless you really want to. Remember, If people laugh at your dreams, they have likely abandoned their own.

Education

This is the second step on the path to happiness, and also the most heavy obstacle on this list. Many people never get past this one, and cease to continue on in their quest. Now, here is where you really need to close your eyes and open your heart. You have many choices in life, but remember that education should not be ignored. A liberal arts degree can work wonders in a field close to the profession that you feel most at peace with. Trade schools are also helpful. You need to decide.

I’m currently an Anthropology major with a concentration in public archaeology. You would be astounded at how many people have come up to me, scratching their heads, saying “I wish I could do that!” or, alternatively, wondering why everyone else gets the all of the good breaks. I’m always stunned cold in the spot whenever I see one of those responses. First, I can’t imagine doing anything else, and second, anybody can do this. It isn’t more difficult than anything else, but it is a decision that you must make. Archeology makes me happy in the same way that art makes the artist happy. It is just a difference. You must realize that fields such as “anthropology” or “museum studies” (to become a curator) … those jobs aren’t just for “other people.” They’re for you, as well.

Money is always an issue, but do not predicate your life around either obtaining it or letting your life fall to pieces because of it. If you are younger and your parents want you to desperately get a liberal arts B.A. or B.S. degree, try to gently remind them that as long as you have a degree itself, that should be all they ask of you. The rest is up to you.

If they absolutely refuse to fund the degree you are asking, do not abandon this dream, and do not delay your first two years of college. The first two years are primarily cores. Tell them that you will declare after you take your cores. Work summers, apply for work study which pays for your tuition and also gives you some pocket money. Do what it takes to fund your dream, but do not simply say “This is for other people. I’m supposed to make money.” Also, ignore the comments. You will likely be sensitive at this time to people thinking that you are being idealistic. Do not listen. There is always a way if you are willing to find it. Some people work for money, for security, so that they can live their dreams part-time. Sometimes, though, that isn’t enough. Decide.

Becoming a Humanitarian

While in school, or even after, humanitarian work is the key to applying what you have learned. Especially for any Anthropology majors out there, volunteering abroad will supplement your degree wonderfully. Community service is one of the most important actions that we can take in this life, reminding us how similar we actually all are, and also how different. Donating to charity, volunteering, or even playing on Free Rice for a little while will help feed the hungry, shelter the homeless and benefit the less fortunate.

Following Your Passion

Life the life you want to live. Have hobbies, look within yourself to find the way that you can best serve others with your passion. Subscribe to magazines and journals in your field, donate to charities, always think through “failures.” Keep going, never stop for any reason. Always keep going.
