The federal government is suing the state of Alabama in an attempt to stop them from enforcing the new immigration laws that the state has recently passed. This follows in the footsteps of the suit against Arizona after they had passed similar laws.

Attorney General Eric Holder has declared that the federal government is filing suit against the state of Alabama to stop the enactment of their new immigration laws. He has stated that immigration is a national responsibility and the states cannot get involved in this procedure. The suit states that legal residents and visitors may face harassment and possible discrimination from law enforcement authorities.

The state of Alabama recently passed tougher laws because the government was ignoring the increasing illegal alien problem that has been plaguing many states such as Alabama. Alabama has seen a recent influx in illegal aliens entering the state and has received no cooperation from the federal government to help fight the problem. Alabama Governor Robert Bentley says that the laws were passed to help protect the jobs of legal residents and fully intends to see that these laws are enforced.

Advocacy groups have claimed that these laws have thrown the state into “chaos” and that Hispanic residents are too afraid to go to work. They said that many residents are too scared to come out during the day because they will be harassed by law authorities.

The government has stated that these new laws unfairly disrupt the daily routine of immigrant workers. But isn’t this supposed to be the result of correctly enforced laws? If a person is in the country illegally, shouldn’t they be tracked down and dealt with? The Obama administration knows that cracking down on states that try to enforce immigration laws will help get the illegal alien vote. This sounds like a contradiction because illegal aliens should not have the right to vote. However, there are 5 states that still allow illegal aliens the right to obtain a driver’s licenses. These states are Hawaii, Maine, New Mexico, Utah and Washington. The governor of New Mexico has tried to stop this process, but her actions have been shot down by a state judge.

Obtaining a driver’s license is just the first step toward voting. President Obama knows this and will do everything he can to court this group. He needs every vote he can get in the next election – even the illegal ones.

As the country waits to hear his new plan in September for creating jobs in America, many feel it is just so much hot air again. There has to be changes to suit the need in order to create a real job market.

President Obama is planning to make a speech in September regarding jobs in America and how to jump start the economy. There is very little information regarding how he is going to do this and there is no confidence from the American people that he will offer anything new. We need businesses to provide jobs for the people who are out of work at every level in this country.

It seems the only ones working and improving their jobs are politicians. More positions have been created and greater lifestyles are continuing. Why is Obama visiting states with low job rates in a tour bus that cost more than a city of people make in a life time? It does not inspire confidence and a feeling of caring when he is spending free and enjoys luxury we will never see in our lifetime.

In order to create jobs for the American people, businesses need to hire Americans in the United States. Obama has talked about creating construction jobs, but there is a very small percentage of the working public that can work those type of jobs. It is heavy work, meant for healthy people. Some with skills and some without skills, but they must be in good physical shape in order to work the jobs available.

Manufacturing businesses and financial jobs need to be returned to the U.S. in order to provide income for families. If large firms are offered credits, incentives and benefits for basing their companies in our country and employing Americans, it would create enough jobs to fill the need and return the country to a number one power in the world of production and creativity.

No more outsourcing for American products that could provide jobs within our own borders. Do not tax the large firms for basing their businesses in America. The American people already pay enough taxes on everything, over and over again, to support the governments spending. Offer the use of land without a charge for large businesses that employee a certain number of local Americans.

Offer incentives in tax cuts or credit for businesses that base their operations in our country. For each American they hire, offer an incentive of credit at the end of the year. Place embargos on American products made outside the United States. Tax companies that place the manufacturing companies outside the United States for American made products.

Make all telemarketing support for companies within the countries their customer is located. This can be done. Even if it is a world wide product such as credit cards, phone service or computer services. Each country can provide telephone support for the customer in their location. It would help to eliminate the problem of language barriers and workers that have no idea of lifestyle and pay within the customer area they are taking a call from.

No more outsourcing of medical records, coding, support or anything else that is a private matter to the persons of this country. Cut government benefits for items that are just not needed. No more limo service for individuals. If a limo service is to be used in connection to a government function, then there must be no less than ten people in the car at one time.

All politicians in Washington D.C. should be required to drive the small electric cars in order to preserve fuel and cut government cost. Every politician must live within a reasonable limited budget while in session in our country’s capital. They pay for all their own foods. No trips for multiple government politicians for meetings. All meeting can be done through online forums or technology will provide the sources for visual meetings through computer network sources.

No more loans to countries except in extreme emergencies such as earthquake damage, floods and other natural disasters. All movies and TV personalities that speak for helping other countries should be required to donate half of their yearly pay to those countries. For the out of work citizen trying to feed their own kids, it is harder to come up with twenty dollars than it is for the media spokesperson to come up with $200,000. They can change their lifestyle to smaller home, fewer cars to waste gas on and less in the way of luxuries.

It seems the ones who ask the most from the American people that are out of work and losing their homes are the ones that have the most. Cut taxes for middle class to low income, decrease the cost of medical insurance so it is affordable for the normal family. Provide good, free medical care for everyone that makes under $50,000 a year. Increase the taxes for anyone that makes more than $150,000 a year. Tax all politicians and require them to use regular medical services. They can keep their secret service and protection. But if they are going to take the guns out of the hands of legal owners, then their secret service and personal body guards must give up the use of firearms for a form of protection.

Bring back American made products and American pride in what we can produce. No more chants about jobs Americans will not do. Americans will do all jobs, but we would like to do them legally as the law requires. Close off the borders and services to all illegal aliens. Green card workers and new citizens are always welcome. No more jobs for illegal aliens, no more medical for illegal aliens and no more schooling for illegal aliens. They are all welcome on legal terms just like those of use that are born here and must produce proof for everything we do or get.

This plan would solve the problems of jobs, available medical care, housing, loans, government spending, government debt and border problems.

Policies of US Attorney Eric Holder violate rights and promote a new agenda of corruption in the US.

A New Racism In America Today Thanks To Obama

Upon taking office after his inauguration, newly elected President, Barack Hussein Obama, made a decision that would send a message to America over the race card issue. 200 Caucasian White House staffers were fired in favor of awarding these positions to blacks. Why? It was not a matter of competence. It was not a matter of wrong doing. No, it was a matter of simply appointing blacks or people of color to those positions. Blatant racial firing and hiring, a sign of things to come.

It wasn’t long before the race card emerged again in the Obama administration when a friend of Obama’s was caught trying to break into a house. A policeman investigated and found a black man who could not identify himself who appeared to be breaking and entering. Upon closer inspection, the police officer was verbally assaulted by the black man who became more and more angry until he was arrested not for breaking and entering as it was determined that the black man had entered his own property, but for loud and disorderly conduct after repeatedly insulting decorated officer Sergeant Crowley. Louis Gates, a longtime friend of Obama’s, used the race card toward an officer who trained enforcement personnel on how to avoid racial profiling, accusing Crowley of racism.

The President of the United States uses the nation’s time to come to the rescue of his friend when Obama admitted he did not know all the facts and was biased because Gates was his friend. Obama said that the Cambridge Police had acted stupidly in arresting Skip Gates, and that there was a history of racial profiling in the US and that African Americans and Latinos had been disproportionately stopped by law enforcement. Without knowing all the facts surrounding the incident, Obama jumped in and made false accusations, insulting a policeman in the course of his duty.

Voters were insured that there would not be fair play in upcoming elections as Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes instructed members of her legal team that there would be no enforcement of the Department of Motor Vehicle Act. Thus, insuring that many illegal aliens and improperly vetted voters would go to the polls and be able to vote alongside legal voters. Fernandes went on to say that not enforcing the law which would no doubt embolden efforts by the left to sabotage elections with higher than usual turnouts brought about by thousands of bogus ballots, would somehow be better for the election process. Knowing well and good that the greatest majority of voting fraud would be committed by minorities and illegal aliens seeking to elect their Democrat candidates, Julie Fernandes epitomized the attitude within US Attorney General, Eric Holder’s, Department of Justice.

Eric Holder’s DOJ Disinterested In Enforcement Of The Law

When New Black Panthers were caught on film harassing voters at a precinct polling facility, Eric Holder’s DOJ refused to do anything about it. When whistleblower Attorney’s Chris Coates and J. Christian Adams testified to the fact that civil rights violations were being committed by the DOJ, both veterans were forced to resign. The stonewalling on civil rights violations continues.

The Obama administration promises to provide healthcare to 12 million illegal aliens as part of the Health Care Reform Act, a costly effort on the part of the federal government to nationalize healthcare using rationing, staggering spending, expansion of the IRS, and allowing unions to opt out while forcing unwilling Americans to participate. Falsely proclaiming that some 47 million Americans are without health care is patently absurd and a distortion of the truth, but the President will do or say anything to see that his agenda is furthered.

Using Illegal Aliens As A Political Tool For Democrat Votes

Could it be defined as racism when one illegally enters the jurisdiction of another country, falsifies his or her identity in order to get work, seeks health care without paying for it and expects the government to cover it, demands benefits such as social security when they haven’t paid taxes, and even take part in demonstrations that deface the public property and flag of this foreign nation that you have invaded so you can defy the laws and remain on someone else’s soil illegally? Perhaps you even accuse those police tasked with carrying out the law as profiling you. Could this be defined as racism? Oh yeah.

When the State of Arizona grew tired of drug cartel violence, illegal infiltration of its borders, and a crime wave against its citizens, Governor, Jan Brewer, and her State Attorney General passed SB 1070 in response to federal foot dragging. Once again the Obama administration went into battle taking legal action against Arizona for merely enforcing federal anti immigration laws that already existed. In the face of huge deficits, Eric Holder once again decided to pursue costly litigation against Arizona for racial profiling. The Obama administration stood by while cities such as Los Angeles boycotted the state of Arizona for protecting its own borders with Mexico. The administration has even condoned sanctuary cities such as Denver who harbor illegal aliens in spite of federal laws as American law enforcement suffers fatalities at the hands of criminals who are not legal citizens, but thank God they aren’t undergoing racial profiling! God forbid!

Corrupting The Courts

Sonia Sotomayor was appointed as a Supreme Court Justice even though she admittedly allowed under qualified minority applicants to be employed over their better test scoring Caucasian counterparts. When a lawsuit representing the better qualified applicants against the city in question was ruled in favor of the low scoring minorities this injustice was upheld by Sotomayor, who ruled on the case. Once again the Obama administration allowed discrimination and unjust rule to be sanctioned by the US government. Even the courts now condone discrimination!

The way to achieve racial equality in this country is not by upholding discriminatory verdicts, allowing civil rights violations, suing states trying to protect their borders, and sanctioning the forced resignation of those who catch the federal government at law breaking. The Department of Justice has become a mockery of its former self through the stonewalling and frivolous litigations of US Attorney General, Eric Holder, a convicted felon, pardoned by President Bill Clinton. Obama has used his ruling class mentality to rationalize creating racial division in the US. You cannot alleviate injustice by simply committing more of it. Remember the old saying, ” two wrongs don’t make a right.”

She energized people at the Republican Convention with her quick lines and vibrant smile. She was the Governor from Wasilla, Alaska that John McCain picked to be his running mate, but as soon as she won people’s heart, she fizzled out. So why is Sarah back?

By this time, everyone knows Sarah Palin and saw the huge bus traveling from one place to another; they probably never missed Tina Fey impersonating her on Saturday Night Live. She did a good job but Sarah was getting dumb and dumber; in a way I felt sorry for her.

When Katie Couric got a hold of Sarah you were almost pleading it would finish or say something instead of stutter. So I really don’t know what Sarah’s doing now, if she’s a masochist or likes to keep people on the edge of their seat wondering if she’s going to run for president. Everyone’s been speculating like they did when Donald Trump was playing along as if he was going to run, and the irony is she dined with Trump and his wife. However, before she met with him she visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on her tour. “I was struck by the many visitors from overseas who were drawn to this place, not merely for its aesthetic beauty but also as a symbol for freedom and liberty,” she said. I’m sure she’s never seen anything like that in Alaska and was probably impressed.

Sarah Palin seems to be a bit of a character that people can’t stop talking about. The woman has something that irks liberals; she prides herself on helping “tea party” candidates and has even quoted Theodore Roosevelt as being a man she admires. I don’t know if it’s because he loved moose hunting just like she does.

At first I never thought much about Sarah Palin but my opinion of her changed completely when I saw how much she enjoyed that. I know it’s a constitutional right but I’m totally against it. I think it’s inhumane to hunt an animal and actually get off on it, and wonder how the person would feel if someone started aiming at them for sport.

Sarah Palin is so outspoken she drew the line when it came to supporting the famous “Dream Act” which would create a path to citizenship for children who were illegally brought to the United States by their parents. If past immigrants had to stand in line to become U.S. citizens she doesn’t feel its right to break that tradition and hand it over to those who came here illegally. A lot of people have their own opinion about that and this has caused endless discussions and debate.

I personally don’t think Sarah Palin will run for president nor do I care. I do think she likes to keep people guessing; games politicians play just to be the center of attention.

“ NAZISM”

Cardinal Roger M. Mahony of Los Angeles calls the new stringent immigration laws in Arizona, “Nazism” by giving police authorities carte blanche when asking for a person’s documents.

Presidents Obama has strongly criticized the bill and called for a complete federal overhaul of immigration law. The new laws signed in by Arizona’s governor, Jan Brewer, are agreed by both proponents and critics as being the broadest and stickiest in decades making not carrying documents a crime.

The new immigration laws also give police authorities the right to stop and detain anyone appearing suspicious of being an illegal alien. The bill is designed to identify, prosecute, and deport illegal aliens.

The Hispanic communities have issued joint statements proclaiming that the bill is a blue print for social profiling. The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund issued a statement to the governors’ office saying the new laws give new birth to “A spiral of pervasive fear, community distrust, increased crime and costly litigation with nationwide repercussions”.

Here is my view on Arizona's law on immigrants. Take it or leave it. Don't bother commenting and telling me Im wrong or stupid. I won't read them.

Arizona passed a law recently that gives an officer, after pulling someone over, to check and see if that person is an illegal alien. This law reduces the amount of illegals in the area as well as potentialy reduce the amount of tax payer dollars going toward paying for unemployed immigrants. Only a few decades ago, one had to go through the citizenship process in order to take advantage of our health care, freedoms and jobs. Today, Ellis Island is no longer in use and very few immigrants will make the effort to do the right thing and become a citizen. It is understandable that one would want to immigrate to another land where life is better but becoming a citizen should be the small sacrifice to make in order to achieve that better life. Sure our economy here in the U.S is boosted by those willing to do work others are not willing to do, such as house cleaning and fruit picking; but the system is corrupted in the sense. That sense of corruption is that these people can receive benefits such as health care for free. (Because they can’t or won’t pay.) Those benefits are payed for by the rest of America, who break their backs over the taxes that fund them. The other example of corruption are the countless amounts of politicians (namely out president) that promised to do something about our immigration problems. Though it is hard to find any one of them that has followed though because they all hope for the Latino vote to get them in office. The illegal Latino vote is such a big portion of Americas votes that it shows you something about our legal citizen to illegal citizen ratio.

Arizona’s immigration law is a great example of a government that is finally willing to do the right thing and send back the illegals that mooch off of welfare and free health care. Many get upset that officers in Arizona have this ability and claim it to be a breeding ground for “racial profiling”. No, racial profiling is not the case. Officers check the information of a driver anyway when they pull someone over. You get a ticket anyway if you don’t have a license. Obviously an officer will write up a ticket to someone who doesn’t have a license and when they can’t collect, because the person gives fake information or doesn’t own a home, they question that person’s citizenship. These officers don’t make a special effort to tail gate a Mexican and wait for him to cross the double yellow. They don’t pass up the chase of the drunk driver and follow a random Mexican instead. THAT would be racial profiling. Of all places to be worried of racial profiling among cops, Arizona is hardly the place. If you want to whine about racial profiling, go deep south and as an experiment, pass the law there. Not to accuse the deep southern Americans of racial profiling of course. The point is you would be far more likely to find a group of angry red neck cops who hardly made it passed high school that would really make an effort to commit racial profiling. The whole argument against the Arizona immigration law is B.S. All the Americans up in arms saying it causes racial profiling fail to see that illegal aliens have their hands in their back pockets, boosting up their taxes and making health care more expensive. If you want to live here, cool. But do it legally. It is not widely known that a large quantity of Mexicans in Arizona (who live here legally) are happy about the law. They want the illegals out so that they can live their American dreams without selling their souls. Most Mexicans that live here legally are angry at the illegals, not just in Arizona but all over the U.S. They are angry that they (legal Mexican citizens) made the long effort to earn citizenship and that countless other Mexicans are getting a free ride with their legally hard earned money. Face the truth, the law is good, and it protects your money and if other states pick it up, taxes could go down. The illegals use our hard earned money to pay for health care and schooling, when a good amount of them, don’t even work at all. Come to your senses America.

Immigration reform is a hot topic these days. As America is sinking deeper in debt the country wrestles with the issue of illegal immigration. Is illegal immigration hurting us more than we realize? Here is an excerpt from a paper I wrote last year before Arizona put their immigration reform into motion. The paper discuses various aspects of illegal immigration and the costs associated with them. The facts are out there, all we need now is a viable solution.

INTRODUCTION

The United States of America has a relatively short history in comparison to the rest of the world. When first discovered by the western civilization it was considered full of untapped resources and new potential. Because of its allure it wasn’t long before the newly discovered world began to attract European immigrants.

Ultimately came the birth of a nation unlike any before; by the people and for the people, also know as the land of opportunity. The United States expanded with the help of immigrants who left their native lands in search of freedom and prosperity. The very foundation of this nation lies in the blood, sweat and genius of the people who first settled here and the generations who inherently shaped its future.

This paper will discuss a brief history of immigration reforms that ensued due to the increasing arrival of newcomers and the economic and social ramifications that followed. A closer look at the current problems associated with illegal immigration will address ways in which the United States has dealt with the issue in the past, how it works today and finally explore possible future solutions.

FIRST IMMIGRATION REFORMS

Shortly after the Declaration of Independence was written the first U.S. census was established in 1790. At that time the U.S. population was just under four million. The census was designed to keep track of people and who they were and where they came from (and at that time also who owned them). Over the following 100 years the U.S. population grew to 63 million. Much of the increase was attributed to new arrivals from Europe. First real concerns regarding immigration and labor began shortly after the Civil War which created a high demand for labor. The wave of new immigrants under the contract labor law lowered the cost of labor while greatly increasing crime (uscenus.gov). The contract labor law allowed American companies to advertise abroad and encourage foreigners to come work in America. The labor law was later repealed in 1868 due to much discontent by the American workers who felt their jobs were being taken away (geocities.com)

Fast forward to 1917 when another Immigration Act was passed. This act outlined a very specific black list of “undesirable” immigrants which included: idiots, criminals, epileptics, insane persons, alcoholics, professional beggars, all persons mentally physically defective, polygamists, anarchists and illiterate persons over 16 (wikipedia.com) This act was installed with the intention of decreasing the social and cost burdens created by those kinds of immigrants.

In the next 70 years couple more restricting immigration reforms took place. All of them were designed to limit “bad” immigration and raised standards the newcomers had to meet. A t one point they were specifically racially motivated against Asians. Because of that many critics felt those reforms were discriminatory in restricting immigrants from some nations more than others.

Above reforms were not perfect and because of the stiffer restrictions on immigration a growing number of illegal aliens found their way into the United States. As a result, in 1986, a major amnesty was issued to 2.8 million illegal aliens. Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) act was considered a controversial approach in dealing with the illegal aliens presently living in the United States. Opponents felt it would give an incentive for more illegals to enter the country. The act came with many biases and fraud, “much of the apparent fraud did not lead to denial of applications” (cis.org). This was also the first time employers were going to be penalized for hiring illegal immigrants.

OUTCOMES AND SHORTCOMINGS

IRCA granted amnesty to millions of illegal aliens mostly from Mexico and Latin America. The intention of the amnesty was to stop or “severely impede” illegal immigration and its toll on United States tax payers (Deatherage, p.37). Giving illegal aliens a chance to become legal U.S. residents meant they would have to contribute more in taxes and thus knowingly hiring illegal aliens was criminalized. However, the growing illegal immigration problems did not go away. Here are a couple reasons why.

In order to seek a viable solution to controlling illegal immigration and its financial implications on taxpayers one must find a root of exactly why and how it takes place. Center of Immigration Studies takes a closer look at the issue of illegal Mexican population from a social perspective. It suggests that both American businesses and illegal aliens attract more illegal aliens:

“The typical Mexican worker earns one-tenth his American counterpart, and numerous American businesses are willing to hire cheap, compliant labor from abroad. In addition, communities of recently arrived legal immigrants help create immigration networks used by illegal aliens and serve as incubators for illegal immigration, providing jobs, housing, and entree to America for illegal alien relatives and fellow countrymen” (cis.org). This poses an important question: Is illegal immigration a result of supply and demand and if so who is to blame and most importantly how should it be handled?

COSTS

As aforementioned illegal aliens tend to live in close knit communities because of the support those communities bring. This goes true for various groups not just Mexicans in California (Los Angeles) but Poles in Illinois (Chicago), Asians in California (San Francisco) etc. According to uslaw.com, in 2006 there was an estimated 11.5 million illegal aliens living throughout the United Sates with major concentrations in California, Texas and Florida.

Those 11.5 million people came from all walks of life and just like legal residents and citizens they get sick, poor and commit violent crimes. All of those things cost taxpayer money. “Many people who live in areas heavily settled by immigrants stress the financial burden on local and state budgets, which must carry most of the cost of medical care and other public services that immigrants receive. School systems in Los Angeles and other cities, for example, have been overwhelmed by immigrants. The result of these burdens, some say, is higher taxes, poorer education, and less government assistance for needy who are already there” (Deatherage,
p. 137).

TOTAL COSTS

According to a study conducted by the Center of Immigration Studies (published in Washington Post, August 2005) illegal aliens cost the United States federal government more than $10 billion a year. This number is estimated would tripled if the aliens were granted amnesty. “Households headed by illegal aliens imposed more than $26.3 billion in costs on the federal government in 2002 and paid only $16 billion in taxes, creating a net fiscal deficit of $10.4 billion, or $2,700 per illegal household” (washingtonpost.com). This is manly due to the low income earned by those illegal aliens as most of them have poor education and low skill sets. The costs included in this amount come from the total money spent through Medicaid, food assistance programs, prison and court system costs as well as federal aid to schools.

The author of the study, Steven A. Camarota, argues that granting legal status (amnesty) to those aliens would cause “the net fiscal deficit to rise to nearly $29 billion because unskilled immigrants would have access to more government services while continuing to make modest tax payments.” The study also includes the costs of “anchor babies” which are children born in U.S. to illegal aliens. Those children are eligible for full government assistance while their parents continue to make little or no tax contributions. Camarota’s study drew heavy criticism by immigration specialists and advocacy groups because he failed to offer constructive recommendations. One of the critics, Frank Sharry, a directory of National Immigration Forum said “Our current system of haphazard laws, spotty enforcement, border chaos and unfair restrictions needs to be replaced by a regulatory regime that makes immigration safe, legal and orderly”(washingtonpost.com).

CRIME COSTS

The increasing costs incurred by crimes committed by undocumented aliens have created a need for federal assistance. The Bureau of Justice Assistance in conjunction with United States Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Services have created a program called State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) which “provides federal assistance to states and localities that are incurring costs of incarcerating undocumented criminal aliens who have been accused or convicted of state and local offenses and have been incarcerated for a minimum of 72 hours.” (www.ojp.usdoj.gov) It costs the state of California about $705 million a year to keep undocumented prisoners behind bars and in 2006 the state received $405 million through the SCAAP program.

MEDICAL COSTS

Federal law requires that hospitals provide emergency care to all persons regardless or financial or legal status but what happens after the initial care has been provided? The government pays for these services through Medicaid and each state may have its own name for the program such as Medi-Cal in California and MassHealth in Massachusetts. Critics argue that illegal aliens avoid making emergency hospital visit in fear of being deported and thus the real costs are much lower and distorted. However, in critical cases caring for illegal

aliens can be both controversial and costly.

New York Times published a mini article series about the real costs of the difference between providing emergency care in the short run and extended care in the long run. At the center of this issue was a case from Florida which fueled a legal nightmare. In February 2000, Luis Alberto Jiménez an illegal alien from Guatemala, was on his way home from a landscaping job when he was hit by a drunk driver. He suffered severe injuries and head trauma and was transported to emergency room at Martin Memorial, a community hospital. After saving Mr. Jaménez’s life the hospital tried hard to find a care facility that would accept him for further care. He also needed long term rehabilitation. As required by law hospitals are responsible for finding adequate care for patients needing more care before releasing them. (nytimes.com)

After unsuccessful attempts to find a rehabilitation center willing to accept an uninsured illegal alien the hospital was forced to keep him as a ward for years at a cost of $1.5 million. “What happened next set the stage for a continuing legal battle with nationwide repercussions: Mr. Jiménez was deported — not by the federal government but by the hospital, Martin Memorial. After winning a state court order that would later be declared invalid, Martin Memorial leased an air ambulance for $30,000” and flew him back to a facility in his native Guatemala. (nytimes.com) The lawyer representing the relatives of Mr. Jiménez accused the hospital of “false imprisonment, kidnapping” and of all things “smuggling out of country.”

The case drew national attention and the hospital was accused of failing to comply with the federal regulations which state that hospitals that receive Medicare payments must safely transfer patients to “appropriate” post-hospital stay care. As it turns out Medicaid covered only $80,000 of Mr. Jiménez medical expenses leaving the hospital in a major moral and financial dilemma as most state governments do not finance post-hospital care for undocumented immigrants such as Mr. Jiménez.

Carol Plato Nicosia, the director of corporate business services at the hospital commented on the issue “I don’t want to sound heartless. A community hospital is going to give care. But is it the right thing? We have a lot of American citizens who need our help. We only make about 3 percent over our bottom line if we’re lucky. We need to make capital improvements and do things for our community.” The real problem is that there is no detailed legal conduct in place to properly care for undocumented persons who require extended care and the hospitals are left to deal with the issues on their own. Some are more aggressive than others in deporting them after initial care. In Mr. Jiménez’s case the concern was that he was not going to receive appropriate care in his native Guatemala. If that’s the case then who should be responsible for his care costs in the United States? It’s not the government which only pays for emergency care leaving hospitals with both the financial and legal responsibility.

Independence Day is important to American's. Illegal Aliens do not care about our Independence day.

Illegal aliens do not care about Independence Day. Amnesty is not the answer.

Happy Independence Day to all Americans here and in the world around us. God bless our country and everybody who comes to here with the intent to become legal citizens of our great country. We applaud you and your willingness to become a great part of our wonderful country.

I was talking to a nineteen year old Mexican/American last night. He told me something very interesting about illegal aliens. He knows a lot of illegal Mexican’s. He knows who they are and what they think about our country. He told us illegal aliens do not care about our country or our Independence Day. They are in our country to get what they can get from our country. They come here to work and send most of their money back to Mexico to their families. Independence Day means nothing to them. They do not want to become legal citizens. They want to suck our country dry. They do not want to pay legal taxes. They do not want to help build our country. They want free health care. They want to work and send their earnings out of our country.

What would Amnesty do? Amnesty would allow ten, twenty, thirty million illegal aliens to become legal the easy. They would not have to do anything except vote for the right politician. Many people come into this country legally. They go through all the steps to become legal citizens of the United States of America. They become proud American citizens. They work to make this country better because it is also their country. My wife came here from the Philippines nine years ago. She went through the process to become a citizen of the United States of America. I went with her when she was sworn in. It was a proud day for our whole family. She works hard and she loves this country. She celebrates Independence Day. She understands the importance of Independence Day. She has two sisters here who are also going through the legal process of becoming citizens of the United States of America.

Amnesty does nothing to change illegal aliens. They do not care about the history of our country. They want a free ride. Who wants thirty million new citizens who do not care less about our country? It is a waste of time. It is a sham. It has to be another way to get votes for a particular political party. Amnesty is a joke. Illegal aliens are a joke. Independence Day is important to American’s. We celebrate our freedom each and every year. Why should illegal aliens enjoy the same freedoms we enjoy? What have they done to make our country better? Did they have anything to do with our independence?

Let’s enjoy our freedom on this Independence Day. Watch all the fireworks as they light up the sky. Remember the men who died to make us free. Say a prayer for the men who are still fighting to keep us free. It is time to send illegal aliens back to the country where they belong. Do not hate them. They are people, but they need to follow our laws if they want to stay in our country. Vote for politicians who will keep our country free. Vote against politicians who want to give amnesty to illegal aliens. Vote for men who serve God and want to keep God as the center of our great nation. Fight against those who fight against God. Do not let politicians take away our freedoms. God and Freedom is what made the United States of America great. Happy Independence Day and God Bless America.

A democratic society like ours allows us to vote on matters that concern us all. So why is it when an idea really affects our daily routine, we have no vote at all?

Own your votes.

The word was, “Get Out and Vote. Make your Vote Count.” And yet some still wonder why so many people did not. Why didn’t they? Are there really so many of us that are so lazy that we will not even try to choose the best leader for this great country of ours? Or are there more and more of us that are simply trying to make their non-vote a clear statement to a government that does not allow them to vote on matters which are truly more important in their everyday lives (not to create an excuse for those who truly are too lazy)? Maybe people are just tired of their opinions being so limited. Options that are so basic. Even our President was elected by the book before every state was counted. Don’t tell us one thing, then blatantly contradict yourself.

When were any of us asked whether or not our Social Security Benefits should be handed over to anyone who has never even contributed to it? Did I miss that opportunity to voice my opinion, or was that some secret ballot that only concerned others who do not contribute to it either? Who in the hell did that make sense to? How did it matter more to them than it did to any of us? Can a man who just lost his job find free food to feed his family, in a store that his hard earned money paid for? Can he apply for the same benefits to open his own store, or does the fact that he is only a U.S. Citizen keep him from the same options? And why does the media not demand answers to these same questions? They sure do pound out stories about the affect it has on all of us.

Who voted on whether or not Congress deserved a raise? They did? In a time when unemployment has reached an unprecedented high and U.S. Citizens are losing their homes in record numbers, they voted themselves a raise? How was our opinion expressed then? Who asked any of us what we thought then? Wasn’t it our hard earned money involved there too? Vote yourself a raise and see how far you get. Would it not depend on your performance? Minimum Wage went up $0.42 in my state, I saw it clearly plastered across a billboard on the side of a very busy intersection. How much did Congress raise their own income? I could not find it on the ballot I never had when my vote did not count. Help to set your company back 20 years, go in for a raise, then wonder why your voice no longer matters.

When does 'Politically Correct' become 'Incorrect Politically'?

People are consumers.

It should be an outrage that unemployment is so high, yet we are told that we need ‘illegal aliens’ to do the jobs that Americans refuse to do. There was even a developer interviewed who stated that he had to hire ‘questionables’ or he would have no laborers at all. He could not understand why Americans did not want to work for $20 an hour.

I became less confused myself with one quick trip to Salaries.com. I mean it did sound good where I saw the story, but in the city he spoke of, for the job he offered, the rate was $27 an hour. What is the real story there? Were there really no Americans that would do the job, or was it just a drastic cut in pay? How high is the cost of living in that city? Shouldn’t there have been more questions?

We have been told all of our lives that we have the right to pursue our own happiness, yet we have seen so many jobs outsourced that it is now being done right here at home. Do the masses seem to be happy? It sounds more like ‘questionables’ are being used to keep labor rates down, while Americans are forced to either bend over, or go without. Was it seriously suggested that maybe some Americans should just give up the luxury of having a home of their own, and group together? Yes, that would be a great standard of living to adopt from another culture. Just explain to your family why you must share a 3/1with two other families so your boss can live in a 9/4 alone with his. Whose happiness are we left to pursue? And if that is an acceptable way to raise a family, why are so many people coming here to do better?

Maybe we should stop trying to be so politically correct, and just talk politically all together. I do not mean to sound heartless, or take away from anyone’s misfortune, but what if we stopped referring to everyone as people and begin calling them customers, or consumers. You know, speak the language. Everyone feels bad about 2000 people loosing their jobs, but if you even suggest that there could soon be 2000 fewer consumers, even Rich Richard may start listening. Or is the idea of 2000 customers disappearing just too horrific for any business to think about?

Consider the fact that you are selling something, whether it is intelligent or material and suddenly no one is buying it here. Maybe you need to ship it wherever your employees live, since they have jobs. But you are paying them less, so you may need to drop the price accordingly, and of course, hope they want it.

Does anyone know how many other people and businesses are affected by every individual on any given day? Whether it is gas, groceries, utility bills or taxes, every citizen is a crucial part of the buying power of America.

Follow the money. Is it still flowing, or has it been transferred to some other economic base outside the norm? Why would anyone be surprised that those suddenly with less, spend less? Tighten our belts more. Continue to allow the “Illegal” control of labor rates, outsource more jobs, demand higher taxes, and raise the price of necessities. Then worry about the loss of an economic flow. What sense does it make to raise expenses while lowering incomes? If someone can not pay their bill as is, how can they pay more? Was that another consumer I just heard walk away? Now how much money is coming in?

Imagine what would happen if person A was having trouble paying their bills, and person B noticed the payments were coming later and later. It is easy for person B to see that A is having a problem. What would be the smart thing to do? Maybe raising the interest rates will strong arm person A into paying more attention to the bill, like a bully in school gets his way? But how well does this work when person B is third or fourth on the ladder of priorities, just after family, home and transportation, (remembering of course that all of these costs just went up too)? I believe right now it means person A did quit making late payments and suddenly started making NO payments at all. Could lowering rates and minimum payments really have been as self destructive?

Try this, imagine your whole neighborhood went broke, except you. Just lost their jobs, then their money. Would you really wonder why they are not coming to your yard sale? Now imagine that you were the cause of their loss. Are you really surprised when they avoid you with any of their spending at all?

I have no clue what it is in algebra or calculus, but basic math states zero does equal zero. And I am sure basic physics would state that it must come in to go out. Nothing is as bad as it can be, if we ALL work together as one country. Or we could just wait to see how many rivers we can dam up before we realize that the fruit everyone lives on, only grows down stream.
