Studies have shown that the first reason given by Hispanic citizens not to vote, despite being authorized to do so, is that "the choice I'm not interested" or "Do not get involved in politics."

The apathy and disbelief that our vote will make a difference stop us: More than 10 million Hispanics have not yet registered to vote even though they can.

However, our vote does count, and our vote does serve, and we will show in the series The importance of voting.

First test, the case of Jesus Patino Rojas, a resident of Redwood City in the Bay Area of San Francisco, working in a restaurant.

Patino had requested a U-Visa for immigrant victims of crime or cooperating with the authorities, and believed that everything was in order, until “suddenly nothing more I learned that I was deported. There my troubles began.”

Patino told Univision 14 that his life became a hell of a day to another: “I started to feel things I never had felt despair at having to leave my family.”

The man went to her lawyer, Ramon Cardona, who said that reviewing the request for Patino realized that there were some errors in the case, the corrected and resent the visa application.

However, between a procedure and another, it was necessary to stop the deportation.

“We had to use local politicians to help us,” said Cardona, and Congressman representing Patino was willing to help.

“When Congressman Ramon told me that I wanted to help me feel safer,” said Patino.

The lawyer explained why it was crucial intervention Congressman: “Congressman may go directly to the Regional Director of ICE (Immigration Enforcement Agency and Customs), perhaps to try to prevent a deportation or permit to be making steps to request an injunction against the deportation, that is very important. “

Indeed, Congressman, with his influences, could stop the deportation of Patiño in showing that the order had been issued in error.

“We stopped his deportation … and recently received her U Visa gives you four years of legal stay in this country, work permit, and after three years will be able to make their permanent residence,” said Cardona.

“The case of the Lord Jesus Patino is a pretty dramatic event,” added the lawyer.

Now, Patino is convinced of the importance of their vote, since being elected a congressman in his district without sympathy for immigrants, would have been another story.

“You have to vote,” he said Patino, who in the future, if it became a citizen, to be registered to exercise their right to vote.

In Short when I see the state the country’s in the answer is yes. Border control is a joke and the agency has even admitted their mistakes but they aren’t going to do anything about it because that would take too much effort and money.

As well as immigration being out of control our justice system for foreign criminal is laughable. Our Government is letting people into our country without the proper checks and its putting our country at risk. The Government knows how bad it is they just won’t admit they’ve done anything wrong even though its clear for all the world to see.

I think we should be like France and Australia and have tougher rules. Australia will not allow anyone to stay in their country illegal and your only allowed in via visa if you have a trade and are able to work.

Its clear British people are getting angry here are the reasons why:

“ YES!!!!!!! look out the window. do you see more brits or immigrants? theirs your answer.”

“ Britain seriously has to stop letting just anyone in. I completely agree with you, the number of black and Asian in England now outnumbers the white and the number of foreign immigrants is rising in Scotland, Wales and Ireland.”

“ Europe are encouraging people to come and take our benefits. I have no problem with helping people but I don’t believe anyone should just come here for handouts.

Crime has gone up including rape etc. I used to be a Park Ranger and the parks were just rammed with immigrants that didn’t work. 90% foreign. The foreign bit doesn’t bother me, it’s the fact they are just sponging my money to sit in the sun.”

Polish Citizenship could be gained by a foreigner through various reasons. The two most normal methods are to have permanent residency in Poland for at least half a decade and marry a Polish national and stay in the country for a minimum duration of three years. With this condition, the Polish national partner should be an authorized resident of the nation not less than five years. The relationship needs to be continuous without problems of temporary detachment and so on. In both cases, residency must be formal and the resident should have possession of any of the following three licenses: settlement permit; long-term address permit; or permanent residence permit.

A foreigner can also apply for a polish citizenship even if she/he has not yet capable for this. This can be achieved simply by submitting an affidavit will to become a citizen of Poland. This affidavit must be filed on a duly recognized and active well-respected body six months right before the beginning of the qualifying interval. This means that if the foreigner wants to get the nationality by living a lasting address in the nation for five months, the processing of the Affidavit of Will should be done half a year before he/she is appointed to receive any of the three permits. And if the foreigner planning on having the proper for the citizenship by means of marriage with a citizen of Poland, processing of the Affidavit of Will should be accomplished not less than six months before the wedding date.

Little ones whose parents are both registered citizens of Poland automatically purchase the ability to have polish citizenship. This however is dependent on the situation that the children remain within the guardianship and support of the proclaimed mother and father. Which means that children born under the stated situations are listed as pure born nationals of Poland. In case the parents are separated, the child can still be born a national if three situations are met. First, each parent should be citizens; second, any of the mother or father will keep custody of the child until he or she attains legalized age; and third, the non-custodian parent consents on giving the kid the citizenship.

There are persons with no nationality. These people are often those abandoned since childhood or have lost their memory. In the case that it proves extremely hard to find out his/her basis, a person can request for polish citizenship. The individual yet needs to first reside in the state for at least five years. His stay should be authorized with any of the three licenses mentioned earlier. The children of someone with no nationality may also turn into Polish citizens under three situations. First, one of the parent must be a nationality of Poland. Second, either the stateless man or the national would’ve guardianship of the kid till it extends to the legal age. And lastly, both couples agree on the approving of citizenship.

There’s also specific ways of receiving polish citizenship even if you don’t possess one of the requisites. This is when you have distinct abilities or knowledge that would make you an asset to the state. This exceptional privilege only functions generally for legendary athletes and even then, may need to revoke their existing nationalities in place of a polish citizenship.

A Polish passport is a necessary file to have for anyone who is likely to travel through the continent of Europe. This is because the nation is member of the EU and you could essentially travel any place in the EU and never have to apply for visas as well as undergo rigorous traveling and immigration processes. There's also many spots in Europe that you can exclusively enter should you have a passport. A valid Identification had been enough however security measures in the majority of states have been considerably made strong with the international menace of terrorism. Passports, consequently, are proofs that you are a European citizen.

The Polish passport is easily awarded for residents of Poland who request for it to have recognition or travel applications. It is not essential that you had been born inside the mentioned place to get the item. Even if you’re presently registered as being a citizen of another land you may still use the right to request for the passport if one or each of your parents is a registered citizen of Poland. The burden of proving such fact having said that is on the applicant. The passport features vital details concerning the bearer. The stated details typically comes in the 3 commonly used languages inside the continent specifically English, French, as well as Polish. An individual can make use of the passport for about a decade then, it needs to be renewed so the bearer may carry on making use of it.

Non-citizens of Poland could also obtain their own Polish passport even if they’ll need to go through way stricter steps and interviews. The easiest method for a non-citizen to be able to have the item would be to get petitioned by a citizen of Poland. Furthermore, the petitioner must be associated with you by blood. The petitioner also needs to be able to give you a high-quality standard of living at least until you become capable to live on your own. A petition is a particular power of attorney that allows a citizen to serve as catalyst in the conversion of a non-Polish person to a Polish citizen.

The Polish passport is a prerequisite when a citizen of Poland desires to travel outside of the country. The item is necessary not just in air-ports but also in most ports in EU. You’ll need it regardless if you are intending to go to abroad via plane, by ship, or by train. You can just use an official Identification as a replacement if you are able to verify that you’ll come back to the nation within 90 days of your leaving. For people who want to go into Poland but don’t have any pass, a tourist visa will suffice but you won’t be allowed to be in the country for a period of time going above ninety days.

Should you be considering to go into or leave Poland over and over again within 10 years, getting yourself a Polish passport is strongly recommended. This will allow you to take pleasure in the benefits as being a Poland citizen and also determine the legality of your citizenship.

Difficulties immigrants face.

During the 1800’s and early 1900’s there was a large influx of immigrants to America from Europe and other countries. They came here looking for something different. There are still people coming here and the immigrant experience seems similar today to that of past years.

My grandparents came here in 1910 from a small town in Southern Italy called Umbriatico. There was little work for a large family and the farmland was fairly unproductive there. My grandfather came to America to work a few years before he returned to Italy to marry my grandmother and bring her to America.

Leonardo and Clerina settled in Des Moines, Iowa where he worked in the coal mines around the city. It was a bitter experience for my grandmother. There were old world superstitions that haunted her in the form of angry letters from her mother accusing her husband of being Satan for dragging them away from family. She had eight children and lost four of them to disease. She had trouble with the language. The Irish nuns and priests were not sympathetic to say the least. She was miserable. She spent thirty years of her life in a mental hospital. When I was researching for the book I wrote about them, I discovered that there were trainloads of people who were immigrants taken to the western part of our country to mental institutions.

Immigrants coming today face many similar situations in this foreign culture where they are not readily accepted, where “Americans” look on with hostility at clothing that is different and language that is strange. Along with all the new experiences, there is the loneliness for extended family. It is not terribly different today as in the last centuries. One thing to the advantage of newcomers today is that there is a lot more help in the form of language assistance, help finding jobs and teachers and clerics who speak the languages of new immigrants. What is our responsibility? A little understanding would go a long way.

In this article I write about the respect for all people by Republicans and our compassion through wanting an economy that serves everyone.

It is apparent that the news media wants republicans to appear uptight, angry, and unsympathetic to the plight of members of the homosexual lifestyle. We all know that Obama and the liberal news walk in concert. Therefore, we can expect that Obama and the liberal news will continue to beat this homosexual marriage issue till the election.

It is not in our interest to let them set the conversation and debate. I say that our response should be that we respect all people. In addition, we say that if we offer a different point of view it is because we care and we want people to have the same quality of life we have been fortunate enough to have in our lives.

People always think disagreement means persecution and condemnation. We who believe in traditional values are trying to help people achieve a great personal life experience with our contribution to the conversation.

The reality is that everything carries the justice of God. Just because a person does not believe in God does not mean that Gods does not exist.

In addition, there are always going to be consequence to a person when he or she is out of the righteousness of God. An eternity in hell is the eternal destination to all who do not accept Christ as their Lord and Savior and do not follow the “voice of God”, i.e. the bible.

By telling you the expectation of God I am not telling you my self-created religion. I am telling you what the God smart and powerful enough to create a universe told his prophets to document in the Bible.

Now you may disagree with us about God, creation, and Salvation. Disagreeing with me is okay and acceptable. However, your disagreement does not disprove God or invalidate my belief system.

Furthermore, it must be noted that we-people of traditional values-are not motivated by hate and violence. We are motivated by concern. I do not want anyone to suffer an eternity in Hell.

Now, you may say keep your bias religion to yourself. I will abide by your request. It is not my job to harass people until they agree with me. I am only expected to make a good effort at delivering the evangelical message to a person.

Republicans do not show annoyance, anger, or signs of being upset when interviewed by the news media. Report that because conservatives care we want to get the American economy working again with low taxes, low regulation, and low government spending in order for there to be opportunities for everyone in order for them to have the life they want.

I believe we are being compassionate by wanting to help people avoid drug addiction, teen-age pregnancy, incarceration, unemployment, and other social stressors with employment opportunities and respect for individual freedoms. It is Obama who is being cruel with people for getting their hopes up and not following through with any real policy initiatives. All Obama said was that he agreed with the promoters of homosexual marriage agenda. Obama did not say he, as president, was going to work to guarantee homosexual marriage through passing legislation. Obama and his democrats when they were in charge of the presidency and congress did not initiate any “illegal immigration reforms”. It appears Obama and his kind just wants political support for saying they agree with people but not actually passing any laws.

Mr. Mitt Romney and Republicans want a healthy economy that serves everyone and respect for individual rights. It is Obama who through a bureaucracy has interfered with religious people’s faith by ordering Churches and religious groups to provide abortion and birth control to its members.

Now, we all know that Obama has been a miserable failure. The US is 7 trillion dollars more in debt thanks to Obama and unemployment has not improved. The lowering the of the unemployment rate because Americans have given up looking for work is not an improvement. This reality is a shameful embarrassment for Obama and the democrats.

There is your lack of compassion. Obama has burdened all of us with his wasteful spending and he has made it impossible to find gainful employment.

Therefore, Republicans learn the language of compassion through the positive and optimistic value of having a successful economy. I reiterate that when Republican, conservative, and traditional values person is questioned about homosexual marriage just state that because you care you want to share the philosophy that has led you to a great life experience. Then quickly reinforce the idea of caring by wanting to create and American economy that serves everyone.

An old history project that used the information in the beginning to guide the rest of the project. Feel free to use any of it you would like.

Immigration/Urbanization Project

Choice 4:

How the Other Half lives By Jacob Riis-http://www.tenant.net/Community/Riis/chap4.html

Objective: Students will read about the lives of immigrants portrayed in How the Other Half Lives and answer the three discussion questions.

Task: follow the link to How the Other Half Lives by Jacob Riis. Read paragraphs 17-19 of the primary source and answer the three discussion questions below.

Questions:

1. Identify and explain three urban problems that were discussed in the textbook that are also found in Riis’ account of tenement life.

2. Describe two distinct effects poverty had on children.

3. List three sights, sounds and smells that in your opinion Riis used most effectively to evoke the reality of slum life. Explain why you thought they were so effective.

Choice 5:

Chicago Trolley Footage- http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=6964752n

Objective- students will extend their knowledge of urbanization by watching the silent footage from Chicago in 1906 and creating a narration highlighting the urban characteristics.

Task: watch the video, after watching it once go back and identify and explain at least six different things that you notice that you either read about or were discussed in class. Make note of the video timing for each observation. For example at 1 min 24 seconds blah blah blah happened.

Choice 7:

Building the Brooklyn Bridge- http://pbskids.org/bigapplehistory/building/topic8.html

Objective: students will extend their knowledge of urbanization by analyzing the impact of the Brooklyn Bridge construction on the city of New York.

Task: Read the article, watch the video, and look at the slideshow and pictures. Pretend you are working as a craftsman constructing the Brooklyn Bridge, write a letter to your family explaining why the bridge is being built and the innovative techniques you helping to use in its construction.

Part II- Wrap Up

Put yourself in the shoes of an immigrant during the late 1800’s. Select the two elements of immigration or urbanization which you think would be the hardest to overcome and support your decision. How would you try to overcome this situation if you were faced with it? Do you think immigrants today have it harder or easier than immigrants of the past? Justify your opinion with specific support.

Grading-

All projects will be graded for accuracy, development of task, and effort put forth.

Part I

Choice 4:

1. Sanitation issues were directly stated in this passage by the author describing “…this baby–it is a baby, spite of its rags and dirt,” meaning the kids had no way to bathe or had any clean clothes. Also he states that kids are dying from disease, such as measles with “…short hacking cough…helpless wail.” He then goes on and says “The true line to be drawn between pauperism and honest poverty is the clothes-line,” showing that some people of the poor are just lazy, and others try. The housing has no lighting and the author portrays, “You can feel your way, if you cannot see it,” showing complete darkness within these housing developments. Water was addressed in this passage which is best described by “…a thousand thirsty throats pant for a cooling drink in this block,” showing that water wasn’t readily available due to the overwhelming amounts of people.

2. Children had no way to clean or bathe themselves properly, which the author stated, by saying the children were still children “…spite of its [their] rags and dirt…” It wasn’t so much as treating the disease, because they weren’t that advanced in medical technology for anyone, but as preventing it. The virus invested apartments they lived in attracted different infections or problems, like measles. The poor children had to endure a lot, but once getting a disease which did not have a cure, there was no hope but to watch them with their “…short hacking cough.”

3. My favorite quote, “…a thousand thirsty throats pant for a cooling drink in this block,” gives a mental image of a bunch of people huddling around a fire hydrant waiting in line to get their bucket of water filled. It just had that literary effect of the three t’s which stuck in my head, and also the measurement, whether it was obscure or not didn’t matter; it showed there were a lot of people in desperation. When the author said “Listen! That short hacking cough, that tiny, helpless wail–what do they mean?” the first part forewarned me using the command “Listen!” which then I took the rest of the sentence with respect, trying to feel what was going on. It was sad, people were coughing because of disease, and the way he described it by using “…helpless wail…” means no one can do anything about it. Even furthermore, he asked the question “…what do they mean?” which just confirmed the suspicion that there was little to no knowledge about what was going on. Another disturbing image is, “…fire-escapes…loaded down…with broken household goods, with wash-tubs and barrels, over which no man could climb from a fire,” which basically taunted the people if there were ever to be a fire, they’d be stuck without an immediate escape due to their trash they dumped out the windows.

Choice 5:

1:05 – You can notice all the different forms of transportation such as horse & buggy, foot, trollies, cars, and bikes. Every one of all ages is bustling around, trying to get where they need to be. Since the demand for public transportation was higher than the upkeep, these various types of transportation existed.

1:38 – On the left, the horse and buggy drew a little dirt up into the wind, showing the roads weren’t cleaned at all. It is noticeable that the road is solid by the graves in the middle of the street, but it is also possible to see tire tracks and foot prints. Sanitation wasn’t that important because of the low amount of knowledge people knew about it.

4:35 – On the left and right, the buildings seem to be housing apartments. There are a lot of them all crammed together in one tiny spot. These were designed that way to fit more people and make more money which didn’t end up to be affordable at all for the residents. Families shared houses with other families and took shifts on sleeping during the day and night.

6:28 – The automobile on the right was packed full of people. This shows that the idea of carpooling to get to work had an impact and purpose as it did here. Since the government wasn’t going to provide any more transportation, people made their own routes of getting around which looked like it was working pretty well.

15:02 – Earlier in the clip another policeman was roaming the streets. This brings to total count to two policemen for the whole duration of the clip. Crime rates were so high because police weren’t paid, but volunteers. They didn’t care so much for the poor as they did for protecting the wealthy. Eventually it became a paid occupation, but this goes to show there weren’t enough roaming the corners to prevent anything substantial.

15:19 – This is one of the more important less talked about ideals of the people of America. Although everyday life in the immigrants’ shoes was rough, they smiled and cheered at the camera. No matter what happened, they were eager and sort of committed to be part of America. People had hope, which led to opportunities even if they didn’t have a lot. Although a lot of under-the-hood stuff happened like Tammany Hall took place, America’s people were still happy to be where they’ve dreamed of, America.

Choice 7:

Dear family,

I’m working on a project that will bring New York back from the cold dead state it’s in. It’s called the Brooklyn Bridge, what we’ve all been dreaming about for a while. Right now it might seem like tedious work, but we’re doing everything we can so the seasons won’t get in the way of our imports and exports with other cities. This will eventually cross the East River using the suspension bridge technique, and our boss is highly skilled in bridge designing. His father is the one who built the amazing structure over Niagara Falls.

Right now, all the water transits are frozen in still motion, and New York can’t survive without some sort of way to get things in and out of the harbors. I hope you’ll support this movement because our boss’s father just died, and he himself isn’t doing well because he has “the bends” from doing all the underwater excavating for the calculations required and work needed for this amazing structure. They’ve had great dedication for this whole project, and none of us will let down our home or the Roebling’s. This enormous bridge will be big enough for fit all the ships and ferries underneath when this frozen hell is over and in addition will expand the trading possibilities, or speed it up with both ways of transportation; land or sea.

Sincerely,

Alex

Part II- Wrap Up

Housing would be a hard urbanization problem to overcome. Knowing that I don’t have my own bed to sleep in or any things to call my own is a little discomforting. I’d have to make that sacrifice to work and make money to put food on the table. There wouldn’t be anything I could do but put up with it until I got a better job or more pay. I could try and get something that would be my own, like a necklace or coin from my home country.

Sanitation is another huge factor that would be hard to get over. Knowing the knowledge we do today about germs, viruses, and other problems, it’d be hard to skip the normal bathing routine. Not only that but not changing clothes after a hard day’s work would be a little disturbing. I’d have to try and make do with what I’d have, like keeping a rag to “bathe” with along with any type of soap I could get ahold of.

Immigrants today have it a lot easier than immigrants from the past. You get all sorts of benefits when you enter the USA such as money to start you off, and modern shelter. On top of that, you can gain citizenship which then you would be treated like anyone else. Immigrants back then had to deal with Nativism, which wouldn’t be a modern day problem because there are so many different types of people in this nation, a few more isn’t unusual, but rather common. Immigrants do have to take a test to become a citizen, and people do voice their opinions of immigrants arriving here legal and illegal, but that’s more on a national level.

Personally, I’d a desperate mess in the immigrant’s shoes. Modern day technology and knowledge would make it nearly impossible to put up with the conditions of sanitation and housing they had back in the late 1800s. The only way to be able to adapt is keep sane and work, just as the immigrants did. Immigrants of the modern day world don’t have to put up with discrimination on a personal level, but more of an overall national level. No matter the time period, not everyone is going to agree on everything, and history will repeat itself; immigrant discrimination, job scarcity, and urbanization problems in different forms.

“K-1 visa” is not a very unfamiliar term for U-S citizens; almost every US citizen has heard enough about this term, but very few people have the proper knowledge and idea about this K-1 visa. K-1 visa is also known as k-1 fiancé (or fiancée) visa; i.e. being a US citizen, if you want to marry any foreigner person, then you need this K-1 visa for your fiancé (or fiancée). This is basically a non-immigrant type of visa. This article will give you brief description about the process requirements of k-1 visa. If you still have any confusion, then you can consult k1 visa lawyer nearby you.

Due to the increased demand of US visas all over the world, the probability of k-1 visa approval has also become lesser then that of the previous years. Now, the eligibility of your fiancé to get k-1 visa depends on several factors, which are described below:

Your Nationality Or Citizen Ship:

You must be a United States citizen to apply for the k-1 visa for your fiancé or fiancée. Green card holders are not eligible to apply for this visa.

Evidence Of Relationship

You have to prove that marriage is the only reason for your visa application. The evidence of your relationship include all other past records (like recoded phone calls, pictures, emails, messages, affidavits, etc) which can prove that you both have fallen in love, and want to marry each other. Also both of you must have seen each other personally at least once in past two years before the submission of k-1 visa application.

Legally Free For Marriage:

Neither the fiancée nor the fiancé can be legally bound to any other relationship, before applying for k-1 visa. Your k1 visa lawyer can guide you best about this part of the application.

Financially Strong:

US government doesn’t want to bear any additional burden, that’s why, you must have to be financially strong enough and bear your expenses (couple expenses) yourself. For this, authorities will ask for your income proofs.

Marriage Duration:

You must have to get married within 90 days of your fiancé (or fiancée) entry to United States. As any non-resident is allowed to stay for 3 months maximum (i.e. maximum of 90 days) prior to marriage. Timely marriage is very important; else you can not apply for the visa extension, and other benefits.

Now, if you think that this is the right time to apply for the k-1 visa, then first consult your k1 visa lawyer for legal guidance.

A blog post on the upcoming Supreme Court trial on Immigration.

I read an article published today that mentioned the Supreme Court agenda for immigration meant to take place on Wednesday of this week. More importantly, the article outlined the real importance this case may have on immigration–whether it will remain a mostly federal issue as it is now, or if the courts will decide that the states are the ones with power in this debate. The article goes on to describe a few pieces of state legislatures (including Georgia) who have mimicked Arizona’s law that got a lot of negative press (the one that ruled that the police could stop and detain anyone they suspected to be an illegal immigrant). These laws have had a threatening effect on the immigrant population (both legal and illegal), which has resulted in a decrease in the agricultural labor front. Farmers are losing thousands of dollars because these state laws. Words by Darvin Eason, a Georgia farmer who is quoted throughout the article, end the article by saying, ““We need the labor,” Mr. Eason said. “We need the federal government to get control of illegal aliens.”It looks as if Mr. Eason cannot have it both ways.

Read more about this issue here: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/23/us/states-await-supreme-court-hearing-on-arizona-immigration-law.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&ref=politics

Do you think immigration should be a federal or state issue? How do you think the Supreme Court will view the case?
