Wall Street Truth.

New statistics show an ever-more-startling divergence between the fortunes of the wealthy and everybody else — and the desperate need to address this wrenching problem. Even in a country that sometimes seems inured to income inequality, these takeaways are truly stunning.

In 2010, as the nation continued to recover from the recession, a dizzying 93 percent of the additional income created in the country that year, compared to 2009 — $288 billion — went to the top 1 percent of taxpayers, those with at least $352,000 in income. That delivered an average single-year pay increase of 11.6 percent to each of these households.

Still more astonishing was the extent to which the super rich got rich faster than the merely rich. In 2010, 37 percent of these additional earnings went to just the top 0.01 percent, a teaspoon-size collection of about 15,000 households with average incomes of $23.8 million. These fortunate few saw their incomes rise by 21.5 percent.

The bottom 99 percent received a microscopic $80 increase in pay per person in 2010, after adjusting for inflation. The top 1 percent, whose average income is $1,019,089, had an 11.6 percent increase in income.

This new data, derived by the French economists Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez from American tax returns, also suggests that those at the top were more likely to earn than inherit their riches. That’s not completely surprising: the rapid growth of new American industries — from technology to financial services — has increased the need for highly educated and skilled workers. At the same time, old industries like manufacturing are employing fewer blue-collar workers.

The result? Pay for college graduates has risen by 15.7 percent over the past 32 years (after adjustment for inflation) while the income of a worker without a high school diploma has plummeted by 25.7 percent over the same period.

Government has also played a role, particularly the George W. Bush tax cuts, which, among other things, gave the wealthy a 15 percent tax on capital gains and dividends. That’s the provision that caused Warren E. Buffett’s secretary to have a higher tax rate than he does.

As a result, the top 1 percent has done progressively better in each economic recovery of the past two decades. In the Clinton era expansion, 45 percent of the total income gains went to the top 1 percent; in the Bush recovery, the figure was 65 percent; now it is 93 percent.

Just as the causes of the growing inequality are becoming better known, so have the contours of solving the problem: better education and training, a fairer tax system, more aid programs for the disadvantaged to encourage the social mobility needed for them escape the bottom rung, and so on.

Government, of course, can’t fully address some of the challenges, like globalization, but it can help.

By the end of the year, deadlines built into several pieces of complex legislation will force a gridlocked Congress’s hand. Most significantly, all of the Bush Tax Cuts will expire. If Congress does not act, tax rates will return to the higher, pre-2000, Clinton-era levels. In addition, $1.2 trillion of automatic spending cuts that were set in motion by the failure of the last attempt at a deficit reduction deal will take effect.

So far, the prospects for progress are at best worrisome, at worst terrifying. Earlier this week, House Republicans unveiled an unsavory stew of highly regressive tax cuts, large but unspecified reductions in discretionary spending (a category that importantly includes education, infrastructure and research and development), and an evisceration of programs devoted to lifting those at the bottom, including unemployment insurance, food stamps, earned income tax credits and many more.

Policies of this sort would exacerbate the very problem of income inequality that most needs fixing. Next week’s package from House Democrats will almost certainly be more appealing. And to his credit, President Obama has spoken eloquently about the need to address this problem. But with Democrats in the minority in the House and an election looming, passage is unlikely.

The only way to redress the income imbalance is by implementing policies that are oriented toward reversing the forces that caused it. That means letting the Bush tax cuts expire for the wealthy and adding money to some of the programs that House Republicans seek to cut. Allowing this disparity to continue is both bad economic policy and bad social policy. We owe those at the bottom a fairer shot at moving up.

The majority of us acknowledge that our brave forces, whether they be on the ground, at sea or in the air, are the most vital element of any war campaign, but other essential elements are required to keep the cogs of war turning.

I think we’re all familiar with the terrible human loss which came out of the First World War but this loss could have been considerably higher if it hadn’t been for the “home front” workers.

Munitions production had always existed in some form or another, even in times of peace, and at the start of the Great War in 1914 this level of production continued but as the war progressed it became more and more important to increase production and keep the guns ablaze.

Unfortunately, by the time this greater demand for munitions came to the fore, most countries, both ally and enemy had some problem that had to be overcome. In the UK we had a problem with manpower as well as a shortage of cordite which was required for making shells which, in turn, was brought about as there was a shortage of acetone.

In France they had a problem with most of their major industries as they were basically under German rule and obviously there was no way of getting the materials through.

Germany couldn’t get hold of the raw materials to make cordite and explosives and Austria-Hungary had a major problem by way of railway systems and transport.

By the end of 1914, both sides were thoroughly entrenched and it became essential for additional artillery shells to get through to the troops so that they could push their way forward. At that time the trench line stretched some 475 miles from Nieuport in Belgium right along to the Swiss border.

The Battle of Neuve Chapelle 1915

During March 1915 at Neuve Chapelle it’s recorded that the British forces fired more shells in a 35 minute bombardment than they did during the WHOLE of the Boer War less than 20 years earlier. They did have a good supply of guns but what use were the guns if there was no ammunition?

By May 1915 this problem had reached a crisis point and many of the guns had been reduced to firing just four shells a day. It seemed that the allies were on the brink of losing the war and on the home front, this caused a major stir. Prime Minister, Herbert Asquith’s Liberal party were eventually ousted from power and were replaced by a coalition and although Asquith remained, in name, the Prime Minister he had David Lloyd-George taking on the role of the head of the Ministry of Munitions.

British Ammunition Factory

Lloyd-George set about his task with great gusto. He began a plan for building new factories. But one of his first major tasks was to produce more acetone to make the cordite which was the one vital element in shell production. To this end he approached a Manchester chemist, Chaim Weizmann, and asked him to produce this acetone from readily available raw materials. One of the main “ingredients” of this acetone had been a dry distillation of wood but most of the wood had, before the war, been imported from major timber growing countries such as the US. Unfortunately this wasn’t going to work due to two factors. Firstly, it would be difficult for the US to get the wood to us across hostile waters and secondly, as the US were pretty neutral at the time, it wouldn’t have been right for them to “take sides” and provide us with what we needed.

But Weizmann had done a bit of research and discovered that he could produce acetone from a fermentation process whereby he could convert 100 tons of grain into 12 tons of acetone. To this end, the government commandeered brewing and distillery kit and built factories to process the acetone at Holton in Dorset and (very close to home for me!) King’s Lynn in Norfolk.

Supplying the labour wasn’t a huge task either. Women and men unfit for service were deployed to work in the factories, both producing the acetone and the ammunition.

This new workforce was also put to work in mines, on the land and in transport. At the time women didn’t have the vote but, in an effort to keep the enemy at bay and in order to help their loved ones overseas they willingly took up the cudgel and were an enormous help during the four years of the war. The acetone factories miraculously produced almost 100,000 gallons of acetone a year, enough to supply the munitions factories demand for cordite which, again, in turn shell production rose from half a million by the end of 1914 to 16.4 million in 1915.

By 1917 the British Empire as a whole was producing and supplying more than 50 million shells a year to our boys on the front and by 1918 when the war ended, the British army alone had fired 170 million shells.

British Troops

Germany of course had started off the war on an industrial high. It had a high production of steel and was at the forefront of chemical and engineering research and technology. In 1914 it was able to produce over one and a quarter million shells, but by 1915 even they were beginning to flag a bit as they could no longer get hold of cotton, camphor, pyrites and saltpetre which had to be imported. This meant that their shell production went down.

In 1916 the Germans picked up a bit of momentum when their wartime raw material department commandeered stockpiles of the much needed ingredients and ensured they were distributed to the relevant factories as well as overseeing the chemical industry’s production of synthetic materials which could be utilised. The result was that during 1916 their shell production increased significantly to 36 million. Unfortunately for them, the “super powers” of Germany Austria-Hungary, Turkey and Bulgaria couldn’t possibly compete with the allies financial and industrial power which was now in full flow!

In 1917 Germany tried to maintain its slowly depleting and massively under equipped troops on the Western Front by following a new tack – submarines. However, by that time the US had joined the allies which, of course, tipped the enemy over the edge which enabled the allies to take the upper hand and ultimately “win” the war – but as everyone knows, there are never any real winners. At the end of the day all countries were losers, not only financially but in the mass slaughter of our sons, fathers, and other loved ones. That’s one thing that we can guarantee will never change.

I don’t know whether my friends outside the UK know the old nursery rhyme that the majority of us kids, certainly of the 1960s, learned off by heart.

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

I’d never considered it had any real meaning when I was a child; it was just one of those mantras that we all quoted during our childhood years, but I can now see, having looked into the munitions production of the First World War, just how relevant it is.

One thing that did come out of the war however, was the recognition by our government that women weren’t just uneducated, unintelligent, ill-informed and frivolous but could provide an impressive work force when the chips were down and so, in 1918 women were finally granted suffrage and were able to vote.

Put more tax on Fracking and protect citizens that are affected.

Tax the Fracking Industry. Despite how you feel on the issue, they are going to drill regardless. Put more tax on the companies that are making millions+ on our land and put that money back into the hands and communities of the citizens being affected. The roads will need more construction, the water will need better treatment and local land will need to be protected.

Some of you may know about fracking, some of you may have personally experienced the effects that fracking can have on the environment; whether you like it or not, those responsible for fracking are making millions in profit and not caring about the destruction they cause in those states. Go to the website I have posted below, make an account if you’re not already a member and sign the petition to put more tax on Fracking. Let’s get some money circulating in the states to help out with our overall debt. It’s time to make a difference, are you willing to be a part of this change?

Unlike others in the world, I believe every little difference make. There’s probably millions out there with the same opinion of “my vote won’t matter” well, in reality, if those million people voted then it would matter… so take a chance and just try something different, I did!

Say No To Sinetron.

Let`s define what is the meaning of Sinetron

Sinetron is abbreviation from “electronic cinema”. Sinetron is a continous cinema which was broadcasted by channel of television

Our Government had suggested to Movie producer for implanting many educational things and side in Sinetron, and not only added a entertainment things..

But what happens to all our Sinetron??

Mostly of them is rubbish and only sell the bad things..

They only offer a matrealistic life style, selfish life style, unrespect to older and parents, unrespect to teacher, teaching how to cheat somebody else, teach how to kill somebody else..

We always hear about many poor word like “I Will Kill him/her as soon as possible”, ” Don`t worry, I will hit him sooner” and so on..

Can you imagine if the sinetron in the prime time when many children still watch it, always hear about it??

I can not imagine..What about you??

We realize that Sinetron is industry, but they must give a educational things for the viewer..But we must self our self, our family from the bad effect of sinetron..

So what we can do it for preventing the bad effect of Sinetron??

1. Say no to Sinetron..Try to avoid not watch Sinetron especially in Prime Time..

2. Change your habit for watching Sinetron with another useful Activities. I said watching Sinetron only give many bad effect than good effect. So why we must watch it..

Thanks for Reading

The gambling was almost always a problem to deal with in term of loosing money and addiction to people that's doing it. Only educating people know their limits can deal with the online gambling problems.

An important part of our society is defined by a long time race between the authorities that want to keep one order of things and the people that desire a different way to do thing around here (wherever „here” is over the world). I prefer to call it „race” instead of „battle” because, even if it have elements of both, the first ones that get the desired results and/or the solution of their always changing problems usually wins. I have no intention to list all the aspects of this race/battle, but online gambling is one of them and it’s the subject of this article.

As you may already know the issue is not being settled around the world in the same way: different countries has different solutions to the same or similar problems, as the considered fit to their specific needs. As far as I know the gambling (no matter it’s offline or online gambling) have never been completely legalized in the world. It is always kept under microscope by different groups inside the governments and they have all the reason: the huge quantities of money that are being moved through the system are tempting for everyone.

Tell me, when you bet money using online gambling and you win several times in a row you like it, right? How much? Enough that you put your all money into the system hoping you will get a huge fortune? There is no doubt that gambling (in any varieties) is a dangerous and addictive habit – if you think you get it right actually it’s getting you. One moment or another you will lose, that’s for sure. You can not beat the statistics, no matter how much you try. If you lose everything you have (a lot of people already did it) you will surely wish that you will never have heard about the online gambling and wish it completely outside the law and all the people dealing that punished. Don’t take it personally, I wasn’t referring to you personally – that’s the human nature and it applies to all of us.

Some people might say there are a lot of reasons to get online gambling legalized. They are almost always working for the gambling industry – they want a piece of the cake and they would do everything to get a bigger piece. They might say that if the authorities completely legalize the online gambling it will become a legitimate industry and it will bring money to the state through tax revenues. That’s true, but it might be in the expense of the citizens, and that is never good. One other reason is that you can treat easier the addiction, but that’s a tricky problem. Finally they might say that if you can not completely beat it you must join it. Netherlands did something similar when the authorities over there legalized some of the easy drugs, but there is nothing easy about online gambling.

From my point the view, only the education can fully ease the life of online gamblers. The laws are tools to direct or punish uneducated people. You can try to get online gambling legalized, but it’s a lost battle. Try to educate people to know their limits if you want the problems completely disappeared.

There is no question that, like it or not, the time is fast approaching when nations around the world must set aside their political differences.

There is no question that, like it or not, the time is fast approaching when nations around the world must set aside their political differences. It is imperative, therefore, to comprehend the changes that are taking place in this century, judging by the yardstick of events that are happening, and reminding us that within the purview of the comity of nations, regardless of ideologies, the laws and institutions of each country must be recognized in a broader perspective. There are people around the world that fear globalization, thinking that it might tip the balance of power toward those that are wealthy and perhaps further encourage monopolies in areas of commerce and industry, resulting in further impoverishment and deprivation. There is a need to reassure those that think along these lines that technological progress demands the strengthening of relationships in order to dispel suspicion and doubt and reinforce confidence on the part of every nation, including those of the Third World where famine is rampant and corruption is ongoing.

Those that cling to doubt and suspicion must wake up and realize that a better relationship among nations would help each others economy in which there should be no strings attached. The antiquated system of governments that look inward is fading away. Capitalism does not have to isolate the poor and middle class. There are deficiencies in governments that can be rectified. Globalization can be compared to a long chain, consisting of numerous links, the links being the people in general that constitute each nation. Analogically, the links help maintain the chain. People of every class that are linked to form the chain of globalization should consider themselves indispensable, since globalization must depend on the firmness and strength of the links from which it is formed.

It is time to remove restrictions in trade, and open up avenues of goodwill and trust. Hopefully, when these are realized, peace and understanding would be internationally attained.

It behooves those that remain suspicious about globalization to merge with those that are in favor of getting it off the ground and into the highway of confidence and trust where there would be an acceleration of trade without interruption.

The American medical association, the American Food industry, the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies are all in on keeping Americans happy but fat. The diet industry is a huge lie and set to make you fail. It is not just carbs or trans fats. It is about sugar and the worst sugar of all is Corn Syrup
it is in just about everything.

I am overweight and I do read labels. A few years ago there was corn syrup in some of our food products but now except for fresh vegetables and fruits, some dairy and fresh meats corn syrup can be found in most of our foods and yes even in the alleged diet foods.

I am not overweight due to over eating or lack of exercise and or eating too much sugar. I gained my weight due to having a thyroid disease called hypothyroidism which took doctors 8 years to finally diagnose. The thing is I later learned my first doctor knew it and did not tell me or treat me for it but just kept having me come back until I got tired of his attitude and found someone else. But again had problems with him and finally my grandma had me see her lady doctor and she immediately saw I had hypothyroidism and by that time I was very near heart failure and had gained 172 lbs in-spite of exercise daily and raising 4 small children. I was tired all the time. But even getting medication I gained weight even more no matter what I did or how I tried to lose. I would lose weight but get stuck and gain it again. Sickness and injuries like broken foot and knee surgery did not help

But I was not over eating and did not know why I still gained weight. Well it is because our food industry and the American medical association, the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies ALL profit from Americans consuming tons of food high in fructose, which is corn syrup. Corn syrup is in soda pop, tomato sauce, Worcester sauce, salad dressings, canned beans, spaghetti sauce, rice cakes, ketchup, all your pasty and cookies and breads, it is in mayonnaise, Canned fruits and some canned vegetables and even in processed meat products like hot-dogs or corn dogs, turkey ham and bacon. it is in juice drinks, cold sugar treated cereals, coffee mate and many other things It is in our yogurt and ice cream. It behooves people to read labels.

What does corn syrup do. It makes you crave more food and feel hungry. They began putting corn syrup in foods in the mid 1980’s but they increased the amount and put it in even more foods and especially diet industry foods in the 1990’s and have increased it even more in the last 3-4 years.

It causes obesity it causes diabetes, and heart disease and other health problems and dental problems as well. It is found in cookies, cakes and candy. It is found in Potato and corn chips. If you really want to lose weight realize it will take time and exercise and eating true healthy foods. Eat lots of green leafy vegetables and fruit that is fresh and if at all possible that is grown organically without a lot of chemical sprays and toxins. Wash these items before cooking and eating them. Eat organically grown eggs and if possible get pasteurized not homogenized milk. If you can find a milk cow or goat to buy or rent drink that instead, most lactose intolerance comes from the homogenized and re-processed milk. Additives are put in and it causes all sorts of health problems as well. Eating Sweet n low or equal or any other alleged diet type sweetener is NOT going to help you lose weight it is going to cause you to gain weight and or have other health problems.

Eat trout, mackerel, salmon, cod, snapper and other fish. Eat lamb and chicken and turkey and veal but limit your Beef and Pork products. The more fresh foods you eat and the cooked from scratch foods are best. American people have fallen into the open a box or can, pop into a microwave and snap you have a great meal.

The problem is your killing yourself, Cooking from scratch is less expensive than boxed and canned foods, you know what your eating and you will be much healthier for it. Don’t buy kids dry boxed cereal make cream of wheat or oatmeal or malto-meal from scratch not the quick stuff that is full of things not healthy for you. Breakfast bars and protein and diet bars have corn syrup in them they are not meant to help you lose weight they are meant to keep you wanting more and feeling hungry. There are more children obese, they sit and watch t.v for hours and play video games and get little exercise while consuming sodas, chips, and sugar coated cereal, corn dogs or chicken nuggets all high in corn syrup.

Yes you do need to watch your fats, there are good and bad fats. Good fats are olives, avocados, olive oil, coconut oil, grape-seed oil. Not canola oil or corn oil. Good health foods are eggs, fresh fruits and veggies or steamed. Make your own bread and pastries or cookies and limit how much you consume.

There is already natural sugars in fruit and vegetables and it is okay to eat them but adding more corn syrup is very bad and it is in so many of our processed foods we are not even aware how much sugar we are eating. It causes the liver to over work and the kidneys to have problems as well.

I have lost weight not enough it will take me a couple years to do this. But I am losing. I cook from scratch I eat a Lot of salads and green foods,, steamed carrots, broccoli, asparagus not from a and I make my own salad dressing no sugar in it. I make my own barbecue sauce with honey. Honey is much better for you and sweeter than sugar. Get out and walk just walk with a good stroll it will help you lose weight or swim if able, get a ball and use it about 15-30 minutes daily. You will tone up, you will sleep better and you will begin to lose weight and if not weight right away you lose inches. Allow yourself to eat on occasion a couple of cookies or a piece of cake or an ice cream cone. Or some chocolates if chocolate try and eat the dark chocolate it is much healthier for you. But do not eat these daily or even weekly. Make peaches with a little real cream dessert or watermelon or Strawberries and cream.

God made the human body and he made natural good healthy foods for us to eat. Man has adulterated it, taken the good healthy nutrients out of it and turned it into poison for our bodies. Why because it is about profit and greed. The Food industry makes tons of money keeping you hungry and craving foods they know are bad for you. The Doctors make money because you don’t feel well and learn you have kidney, liver or some other health problem like diabetes, the insurance companies make money because you need insurance to pay the doctor and also insurance companies for the medication another poison with multiple side effects you need to buy, for the doctor visit and other tests you might need. And the pharmaceuticals make money because the food industry is putting corn syrup in our food to make us hungry, fat and unhealthy. Everyone wins except you the victim of a greedy bunch of big corporations hand in glove with one another and bribing our congress and politicians to not look to closely at what is going on.

I am feeling much better than I did a year ago. I am losing weight and I am reading label and cooking from scratch and eating much healthier and I will likely increase my life by another ten years or longer. I am going back as much as possible to the natural God given foods and refusing to eat processed junk. I don’t go to fast food restaurants any more I have not had a soda in 5 years. Food tastes better and I enjoy it more. I eat less but am satisfied. I don’t have cravings like I used to. I mostly drink water, from a well. Sometimes I drink herbal hot teas and raw or pasteurized milk. Occasionally I might drink some fruit juice not fruit drink. You can do it to. But you need to be committed to a complete life style change of life for yourself and your entire family and enforce it daily.

"A society is judged by how it treats its weakest members" Quote by Ghandi.

Nazi Germany, people were herded to their deaths, they had no chance of escape. Today we look back at those times with horror. Yet try putting your self in the place of a cow at the slaughter house. Slowly moving forward in line, with walls on either side you have no hope for escape. How do we justify this yet condemn similar lines of slaughter when the animal being slaughtered is human?

Yes I am sure some of you dear readers are upset that I am putting Jews on the same level as cattle; but it is quite the opposite in fact, I am putting cattle on the same level as humans.

Some claim the Bible gives us dominion over all the other animals, I say “Bullshit!”, the Bible is only an excuse for us to treat animals differently, and has been used as an excuse for too long. We have taken dominion over many species but if God had really “given us dominion” over all other animals, we probably would not have wolves, bears, sharks, or mosquitoes. It is time we took our head out of the Bible and started poking our noses into the slaughterhouse.

Is that how you would want to die? Being warehoused, fattened up, then pushed through a series of shoots until the end. No hope for escape, no hope for a “better life”. Is this dominion over animals, or is it abuse?

Let me go to an extreme, if aliens came down, showed us a book that said they had dominion over us, would we simply allow them to slaughter us in the same fashion?

The way we kill the animals is considered “humane” either they are stunned first, then their throat cut, or under kosher law they killed by slitting their throat. Sadly these humane slaughter laws do not apply to all animals, rabbits, fish, and poultry are not so lucky. It is the way we warehouse them that is also an issue. When dogs are raised in the same way we raise pigs it is called a puppy mill and the public demands it be shut down, yet pigs are as intelligent as dogs.

We do not have to give up meat, that is not what I am saying, but we can do amazing things if we just consume less. Remember the correct portion size of meat is only about the size of a deck of cards, not a 8 oz steak. Remember also that we do not need to eat meat at every meal, or every day. In some nations people consider themselves lucky if they get meat once a month.

Isn’t it about time that we saw ourselves as guardians of the planet rather than as Nazi leaders over other species, deciding which is useful to us, which is not?

My tips to you:

Eat smaller portions of meat.

Have some meatless meals.

Have some meatless days.

Buy organically raised meat.

Select free range eggs rather than battery hen eggs.

Respect that all animals want to live just as bad as you.

Do not wear fur.

Read: What do we owe nature.
