After watching the infomercial last night, “Your Baby Can Read,” designed to teach babies and toddlers to read, I was quite stunned that toddlers were able to pronounce the word correctly when their mothers showed them a flash card. In addition, other babies were able to look at the word on a flash card and perform some physical activity (such as raising their arms) related to the word.

Last year, my two-year-old daughter was a duckling. Think very yellow, very puffy with orange and yellow striped tights, and stuffed webbed feet. The year before she was a monkey, absolutely adorable. I started looking online for some good ideas for costumes this year and found some absolutely hysterical ones.
