In early January of 1946, a six year old girl is kidnapped from her home in an affluent area of Chicago. Her father reportedly found a ransom note on the floor asking for $20,000 in return for his daughter. The young girls father went on the radio to plead for his daughters safe return to her family, however the kidnappers never made any contact or further demands for a ransom to be paid. A thorough search by police found the girls body. She had been strangled and then dismembered on the night of the kidnapping. Her remains were left in five different locations, all within the city’s sewer system.
