The Demi Moore 911 call has been released to the public. The 911 called placed from the Moore home is a female voice stating the condition of Demi. Does the public need to know the details of 911 calls, or is this an invasion of privacy?

The Demi Moore 911 call has been released to the public. I can’t help but wonder is this an invasion of privacy to the 49 year old actress, or is it the right of the public to know? Demi Moore was rushed to the hospital Monday, as if everyone hasn’t heard, but, to add to her woes, the 911 call placed from her home has been released.

The 911 call is of one woman giving the condition of Demi Moore, then, another female voice telling the dispatcher that Demi had smoked something. She was, then, transported to the hospital in near unconsciousness.

It amazes me that the Demi Moore 911 call would be released to the public, and not just her call, but, any 911 call from a private residence. I, personally, think that 911 calls should only be released by court order and to authorities to help solve crimes. Does the public have the right to hear the actual 911 call? Is this an invasion of privacy? How would you feel if this happened to you, for any reason?

Does Skulking Around in Someone’s Brain Constitute Invasion of Privacy?

Deception detection has come a long way since interrogating espionage agents and enemies in World War Two. Interrogation techniques have moved into the techno-age, but is that a good thing? High-tech machines of today, such as ‘functional magnetic resonance imaging’, encephalography, and electroencephalography are a few of the modern expert’s tools. These procedures may show that a person has ‘guilty knowledge’ (when a person has seen or heard of a certain situation before), of something, but insists that he knows nothing about it. Is this guilty knowledge indicative of a lie in progress, or is it a meaningless discrepancy?

The older, visual method of lie detection includes such things as changes in facial expression, sweating, pupil dilation or contraction, certain eye movements, nervousness/fidgeting, changes in rates of breathing, body language, and inappropriate reactions.

Facial expressions can be indicative of a lie, in that they are involuntary, and the subject is unaware of them. Therefore, he does not do anything to stop them. Some facial signs of a lie are a forced, rigid smile using only the mouth and not the whole face, no eye contact, pursed lips, eyes darting around the room as if looking for an escape route, lip biting/chewing, and shaking the head from side to side as if saying “no”.

Body language is another way to spot a possible lie. The liar may touch/scratch is nose or behind his ear. He may have less limb movements than if telling the truth, and those movements are toward the body rather than outward, in an effort to make his body appear smaller. A liar may get defensive, while a non-liar will often go on the offensive. A liar may leave out pronouns and speak in a monotone, while a non-liar will emphasize the pronouns. A liar may turn his head/body away from his questioner/accuser. A liar adds unnecessary details to his explanation, and tries to fill in conversational gaps with anything, even if it makes no sense. His words, grammar, and syntax may not make sense when speaking.

When reacting to his accuser/interrogator, a liar will unconsciously place things between himself and his accuser/interrogator, such as, a chair, table, desk, books, or cups, etc. A liar may form his sentences without contractions. Instead of saying, “I can’t go today”, he will say, “I cannot go today.” The liar’s gestures and expressions do not match his statements, (smiling when apologizing). The liar’s emotions/gestures are not appropriate for the subject being discussed. A liar will try to change the subject.

There are problems with the old style deception detection, one of which is, polygrapher human bias. Some of the reactions may be interpreted subjectively, and may not be true results. Another problem is cross-cultural communications. There is the problem of dealing with an antisocial personality disorder (uncaring about the needs of others). This type has a low guilt/anxiety level, which causes skewed results. Then there are good actors, who have learned/been trained, to manipulate the machines and beat the system. One more problem is that undergoing a polygraph is stressful, and could result in a false reading.

Hi-tech lie detection methods include things like changes in heart rate and blood pressure, skin temperature (galvanic skin responses), facial microexpressions, etc. With these machines, we can see into the human brain and chart a map of responses when specific areas light up. There are certain computer programs that watch a person as he is being questioned and know whether or not he is suppressing information, having feelings not consistent with what he is saying, or outright lying.

The new high-tech machines virtually do away with the subjectivity problems. But one problem the new machines cannot solve is that of ethics. Where does the privacy and human dignity of a subject begin? Does the end justify the means? Does the protection of the masses mean we are justified in ignoring the rights of a possible liar? Does skulking around in a subject’s brain constitute invasion of privacy?

Is somebody watching you? Controlling what you see and hear? Manipulating what you do? Is Big Brother here? The System is...

Each of us attempt to live through life the best way we may with what we have to make do with our own personal events. For most of us it seems unimportant what governments may have done and may do, what actions other people take, what teachers instruct, what services are rendered or taken away, and how information is disseminated, until these matters somehow directly affect our lives or the lives of those we are concerned. Most of the time what society does seems distant to us. But, are they really?

For those of you who have seen the movie “The Matrix”, you may recall an imaginary science fiction film about people struggling against mechanical parasites which create a virtual fantasy world for their human hosts. Such a matrix world appears a terrible delusion, yet such a world may have been subconsciously imagined from a glimpse of our own reality. Certainly we do not live in a realm that is totally illusionary, but we do live in a society where we are continually subjected to what others want us to believe. This writing is not an episode about another conspiracy theory; it merely acknowledges something eerie going on with our lives and about the bureaucracies which influence us. We are controlled by people so covert most of us have no clue as to who these people are among us. From the moment we open our eyes to see and clear our ears to listen what is going on out there in the world, we become exposed to the ways of the “System”.

The System has been defined by several names. For example, among minorities they are often referred to as “the man”, to conspiracy buffs they are called: “the Illuminati” or “the Secret Society”, to political concerns they maybe called “the Industrial Complex”. No matter what these who are members of the System may call themselves, they attempt to have a foothold on everything and everyone in whatever we do, however insignificant you may think of this.

The System regulates what we will see, hear, feel, smell, and breathe. Though our world is not a virtual reality, it is filled with many illusions, deceptions, propaganda to steer us, omissions of facts hidden from us, and outright lies to keep us from knowing truths. Whether we read the newspaper, turn on the radio, or click on the television we are bombarded with images the System wants us to believe. The System surrounds us with networks to protect and conceal their intentions. They inundate us with talk shows on the television and radio so we can vent our frustrations and empathize with others whom struggle unanswered questions about everything from the simple things to complex issues. Every so often, the System will build our hopes with new political icons to champion our causes, while these puppets have already had strings attached to them. The System controls most of our politicians; and the ones they can not harness they will eliminate them. Yes, they choose who will live and who will die.

Do any of you really believe the President of the United States of America has power over the government, except for that which is allotted by the System? There are issues the President is not privy and can not administer, but the System does. The System has their hands upon almost all governments, institutions, and leaders throughout the world. Once a person is seen under the radar of the System, they will says who will be appointed, who will recognized, and who will be allowed to have status. They fabricate the world around us; what we see is what they want us to see.

We live in a make believe world. Fortunately for many of us, what we do and how we live is typically undervalued under the System’s microscope. They have already set controls to restrict us to where they want us and how much they want us to prosper; like in the “Matrix” they thrive upon our energy while they feed upon us.

Knowing the System is there will not change your life at all, you are considered insignificant. You are another of the many guinea pigs in their experimental mazes, to use and abuse whenever they choose. But it is good for you to know your position in life; that it is not what it may appear to be; but that it forever remains important to each of us individually.

I believe as more of us begin to know the state of our existence, to know there are those who contemplate their manipulation over us, to know we are watched and controlled, we can evoke change to our circumstances. The System exists because we have given them the power to do so. When we have had enough, we must elect new leaders and persuade incumbent leaders to regain the reigns of our establishments from the System. We must convince future leaders we do not want to live in an illusionary world which voices freedom as poetry, while we are suppressed by the powers that are hidden from us. We must appoint leadership that will defend and protect us from those whom want to disfigure what we relish to see, hear, feel, smell and breathe…to really live the freedom we long to live as it is felt in our hearts.

Perhaps the System is an imaginary beast that represents every possible invisible fascist organization which wants to rule our world. But no matter whether they are real or unreal, our burden will be the same, to prevent their existence. Through our thoughts we secure our hope of liberty; for no one can take those away from us…at least not yet.
