Ironically, though, democracy has inadvertently become its own worst enemy. Think Dorian Grey, the inability to distill youth and beauty gradually backfiring, culminating in a massacre of the self. Without a concrete global understanding or framework for democracy and what it entails, it’s nothing more than a disastrous, unreal objective.
