Conservative voters are sending a message the GOP needs to hear.

Senator Rick Santorum’s surprise wins in the three GOP primary contests on Tuesday night should be a wake up call to the GOP establishment, and they ignore the message they’ve been sent by conservative voters at their peril. But what is that message?

The high turn out of conservative voters in this weeks primary states, in which no delegates were at stake, should drive home te point that republicans want a true conservative to head the GOP ticket. Increasingly republicans and tea parties have been sending the message to the GOP establishment that they are not going to stand by and be forced to back another John McCain. Rank and file republicans are clamoring for a candidate that will take the fight direct to Obama, on the campaign trail and especially in presidential debates.

A few weeks ago New Gingrich enjoyed a surge in popularity in large part to his debate performances. The internet was buzzing with comments from people who could not wait to see Gingrich destroy Obama in a debate. They want to see Obama decimated and shown for the failure that he has been as president.

Now Sen. Santorum has surged in the polls, again largely due to a couple of fiery debate performances in which he displayed the passion and zeal fr defeating Obama that republican voters are hungry for.

The wins of Gingrich and Santorum in recent contests should be a wake up call to the GOP elites; This is not your father’s GOP. The Republican electorate is tuned in and turned on, and they understand that too much is at stake in this election. That very future of America as we know it may turn on the outcome of this election. These patriots are not willing to settle for anything less than a complete repudiation of Obama on election night and they are demanding that the republicans furnish them with a candidate capable of delivering.

Mitt Romney has released his 2010 tax returns and showed he has started on his 2011 tax returns. Where are his 2008 and 2009 tax returns?

After great stress and strife, Mittens Romney released his 2010 tax return and showed his preliminary information for the 2011 returns. OK, that’s nice, whatever. I have read a blog site called hillbuzz.org. They are mostly gay men out of Chicago who love Hillary Clinton, but hate Barack Obama. They want a Republican elected this fall to defeat him. They also hate Mitt Romney, calling him Willard Mittens Romneycare. They also call him cucumber and mayonaise sandwich meaning his boring and bland and moderate on the issues. They were wondering why he has not released his 2008 and 2009 tax returns. (Romney released 24 years of tax returns, 1984-2007, while he was being vetted for vice-president by 2008 nominee, John McCain). So, if he released 24 years of tax returns, then another 2 years, what about those two for 2008 and 2009?

The Hillbuzz gang speculates that Romney made a ton of money betting against the US economy over these two years, like George Soros did. They also speculate that Romney may have gotten TARP, government bailout money during this time in 2008. They also speculate that he got 2009 stimulus money. I listened to a radio show (maybe Rush Limbaugh) and heard that Romney had a Swiss bank account which he closed in 2010. So what? He admitted he has some of his holdings off shore. This is no big deal. Romney made about $20 million in investment income during both 2010 and 2011 and paid 15% of this income in federal taxes. He did what the law required him to do. In finding out that Romney released all those returns in 2008, I got more nervous and admit that hillbuzz’s theory about these tax returns make sense.

George Romney, Mitten’s father, released 12 consecutive years of tax returns when he ran for President in 1968 and set the precedent for candidates doing the same. As a Republican who wants to defeat Obama in November, I am nervous that he releases 26 years of tax returns, but not 2. As Newt Gingrich said, is there something in them which would cause Republicans headaches and make Romney look so bad he is beat? Are we gearing up for another October surprise like the indictment of Caspar Weinberger in 1992 or George Bush’s DUI right before the election in 2000? We shall see. Mittens can get rid of this speculation by releasing these tax returns.

Kelly Evans asked him the question in the Fox News debate tonight whether he supports the NDAA which allows the indefinite detention of US Citizens without trial, lawyer, or habeus corpus.

The link to the debate last night is here http://www.infowars.com/romney-would-sign-ndaa/

I had to suspect that Mitt Romney supported this horrible bill when he accepted the endorsement of John McCain, the author of bill, that supports the indefinite detention of US Citizens without trial, lawyer, or habeus corpus. http://socyberty.com/politics/mitt-romney-supports-ndaa-and-detainment-john-mccain/ A voter in New Hampshire asked Mittens whether he supported the bill. Romney hemmed and hawed and said he had not read the bill yet. http://socyberty.com/politics/mitt-romney-supports-ndaa-and-detainment-john-mccain/ I then asked Bret Baier, via Twitter, to ask Romney point blank whether he supported the NDAA. http://socyberty.com/politics/bret-baier-ask-romney-about-the-ndaa-ron-paul-says-no/ Kelly Evans asked Romney the question point blank tonight, “Would you have signed the NDAA?” He said yes.

The NDAA and Romney’s support of same is the clear cut blasphemy against the Bill of Rights that I feared. Anyone that supports not being in an orange jump suit staring at barbed wire should be terrified about Romney as President. At least President Obama said he would not use NDAA against US Citizens. I don’t believe him, but at least he said it. At least Senator Santorum said that habeus corpus should still be in place. But not Mittens Romney. He wants the Bill of Rights completely eliminated in the name of the war on terrorism. Unfortunately, the war on terror is now the war on the Bill of Rights. As Ron Paul plainly said, this is a big deal. We should not give up on our courts to deal with these issues and make the President a dictator.

God help us and our country if Mittens Romney gets the nomination. There will be no choice for freedom loving Americans with the NDAA.

Update: Who cares how much Romney paid in taxes? That is not our business. What is our business is our freedom and that he wants to deny us habeus corpus via the NDAA.

P.S. Ironically, Mittens supports the repeal of McCain-Feingold, the horrible campaign finance law that his hero McCain got passed.

ABC and NBC had Presidential debates 12 hours apart in getting ready for the New Hampshire primary. There was no discussion on the NDAA, the National Defense Authorization Act which end habeus corpus and trial by jury.

I did not watch all of both debates. However, I watched enough of both of them and heard commentary to speak intelligently on them. Please review my previous two articles on the NDAA which critcize Lindsey Graham, my senior senator, as co-author of the bill (http://trifter.com/usa-canada/lindsey-graham-should-be-disbarred-for-writing-ndaa/) and Mittens Romney for accepting the endorsement of another author of the bill, John McCain. (http://socyberty.com/politics/mitt-romney-supports-ndaa-and-detainment-john-mccain/) I attended a Mittens Romney rally in Charleston, SC on Thursday and hoped he would speak about it. (http://socyberty.com/politics/people-watching-at-mitt-romney-rally-charleston-sc/). Unfortunately, he did not talk about it, nor did he take any questions from the audience. Romney activists made sure only his supporters heard him speak while he kept dissenters outside, away from the cameras.

The ABC moderators seemed to be overly concerned about ”social issues”, gay marriage, abortion and contraception. Social issues are important, but not as much to the New Hampshire voters who are more libertarian than voters here in South Carolina where the primary will be on January 21. In addition, the ABC people were more concerned about what the candidates would be doing on a Saturday night if they were not running for President.

The moderators of both debates were more interested in getting the candidates riled up at each other rather than a thoughtful discussion of the issues of the day. This was especially true in both debates with Paul vs. Santorum, Hunstman vs. Romney and to a lesser extent Gingrich vs. Romney. These candidates do not like each other. We know that. Tell me something I do not know.

In the past, Ron Paul has been ignored by the moderators and by his opponets. We all remember the “debate” CBS did in November where Paul was given 90 seconds in 90 minutes to speak. ABC and NBC know they cannot ignore Paul as he finished 3rd in Iowa and is running 2nd in New Hampshire. So Paul does get to talk. However, they ask Paul about things like whether or not he will run third party instead of the issues of the campaign. In addition, the moderators ignore the legitmate issues that only Ron Paul brings up. These include issues like audting the Federal Reserve and the NDAA.

For these reasons, I was very disapointed in both debates. I found them to be a collosal waste of time, especially having two of them in 12 hours. I do not think they helped the voters of New Hampshire decide. This is further evidence that the old media is dying a slow and painful death.

Des Moines – The race to the seat of the President of the United States (U.S.) this year is increasingly fierce. Although Republicans have not determined the leading candidate presidential candidate, but they’ve done the steps facing President Barack Obama.

Candidates of the Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, trying to take care of Iowa residents. In this opportunity, Romney criticized the way President Obama to overcome the difficulties of U.S. economic and foreign policies of Uncle Sam.

“This president (Obama) has failed to regulate the American economy and disappointing people,” said Mitt Romney in front of his supporters told AFP on Tuesday (03/01/2012).

Former Governor of Massachusetts is assessed, Obama did not produce any agreement in the field of trade, since the U.S. lead. He also vowed to tackle China’s economic policy, which was considered much harm Uncle Sam’s country.

Romney earlier figure had emerged during the U.S. Presidential election 2008. But he lost to John McCain in the Republican mid-term elections.

Aside from being a politician, he is also known as a successful entrepreneur. Romney is known as one of the owners of the investment firm Bain Capital.

During the campaign leading Republican presidential candidate, Romney seemed to get support from many parties other than the candidate. Evidently he had the support of former President George Bush senior.

In spite of supporting Ron Paul for President in the Republican primary for President January 21 in South Carolina, I went to the Mitt Romney rally for President to do some people watching. It was an interesting day and there were many interesting people I saw and talked to.

OLD ANTI-WAR VET- I spent a lot of time with since he was the most interesting person there. He brought to the rally a drone which the government uses to do surveillance and shoot people down. He was anti-war, not necessarily for Ron Paul, but against all the other war candidates. He is correctly anti-Romney. He got a little too militant with people that were walking through to the Romney speech as some of them were open to what he was saying when he was calm. He talked to a lot of members of the national and local press as well. When he talked to the media, he was very savvy.

ANTI-ABORTION ACTIVIST- The vet mentioned above cussed out a woman because she comes to the local abortion mill to protest baby killing. The activist continued to walk in and ignore him. I only mention this woman because I find it inconsistent to find someone anti-abortion enough to protest abortions at abortion mills to vote for Mittens Romney, someone who has a pro-abortion record.

SCUMBAG ROMNEY STAFFER- This person had an encounter with the anti-war vet. He told the cops to make sure the vet did not get into the rally. The rally was at Charlestowne Landing, a state park and about as public as public can get. He was completely nasty, even nastier than the vet. I did not see this guy until after the speeches. I don’t think it was a good idea for him to act so nasty since there was probably a bunch of undecided voters at the rally. Romney and this staffer may think Romney is entitled to the nomination and that he will certainly get it. Maybe, maybe not. But if Romney and his staffers are going to get upset at seeing some protestors now, just wait until Obama and his people tear him up in the general election campaign.

ROMNEY SHEEPLE- This was a majority, but not all of the people who attended the rally. This is just an assumption. I am guessing these people will vote for Romney because he it is his turn to win. They are ignorant to his pro-abortion record, his flip-flopping, and his tacit support of the NDAA which authorizes them to be rounded up and held without trial or habeus corpus or lawyer. I hope these people wake up and realize the lack of difference between him and Obama. Anybody but Obama is just not good enough this time.

CONGRESSMAN TOMMY HARTNETT- I bumped into him after the speeches. He was Congressman for the 1st District of South Carolina from 1981-1987. I went to high school with his son. I was able to do some fast networking as I am a real estate attorney and he is a real estate broker. We exchanged cards. I hope the former Congressman is aware of the NDAA and the bad things about Romney’s record.

ROMNEY HIMSELF- After hanging out with the protestors, I went toward the speech just to hear what he had to say. It was a boring stump speech as I thought it would be. He talks about cutting spending and cutting taxes, but offers nothing substantive. He said nothing about foreign policy or the NDAA. He took no questions on the NDAA or anything. He can recite the first three verses of “America the Beautiful”. Big deal. Barack Obama could type the verses into his teleprompter. So what? He bashed Obama for the stimulus package of 2009. Yes, we all hated the stimulus. How are you going to cut spending? Cut spending, not the rate of increase in spending like Ron Paul will.

I’m glad I went. I always love going to Charlestowne Landing. I grew up near there. I hope I helped some undecided voters wake people up about Romney and the NDAA.

South Carolina governor Nikki Haley and 2008 Republican nominee John McCain endorsed Mittens Romney for President. How much do endorsements really mean? I do not think that they are a big deal.

I like my Governor Haley. She helped out Kiwanis Summerville by doing a town hall meeting for us. She has pushed jobs and jobs during her first year in the Governor’s Mansion. I used to like John McCain. I voted for him against George Bush when he ran for President the first time in 2000. I held my nose and voted for McCain against Obama in 2008. So these two Republicans that have endorsed Romney for President are people that I have liked and voted for.

I cannot stand John McCain anymore. He has gone from a good conservative Republican to a maverick. He has gotten worse and worse since 2000. He wrote the NDAA (http://socyberty.com/politics/mitt-romney-supports-ndaa-and-detainment-john-mccain/) which allows the arrest and detainment of US citizens without trial, habeus corpus or a lawyer. As I wrote in the linked article, we can assume that Mittens Romney supports the NDAA since McCain supports Romney. Romney has said nothing about the NDAA. I went to the Romney rally where McCain and Haley were. He said nothing about the NDAA and took no questions.

While I still like Governor Haley, she has made a mistake for liberty in endorsing Romney. She ran as a Tea Party conservative and won a huge upset to become Governor last year. She came to Columbia to cut spending. However, she failed to endorse Ron Paul who is for the Constitution and cutting spending $1 trillion in his first year as President. Her endorsement of Mittens Romney was disappointing.

In the long term, I think these endorsements mean very little. Are people going to vote for Romney for President just because John McCain or Nikki Haley will? I don’t think so. Just because I support Nikki Haley as my governor does not mean I am going to flock with her to Mittens Romney. As far as John McCain is concerned, Mittens Romney is getting the baggage of John McCain and the NDAA. As people become more aware of this dangerous and horrible law, I hope people will move away from Romney and towards Ron Paul unless Romney comes out and condemns the NDAA.

Kelly Clarkson, the first “American Idol” came out and endorsed Ron Paul for President. While it was a brave decision for her, it means little in the race for President. It was a good business decision for her as her sales shot up 192% right after she made the endorsement. Think for yourself. Review the facts and come to a decision yourself. Who cares what the powerful people are doing about their vote for President.

John McCain has just come out to endorse Mitt Romney for President. I discuss this in terms of the NDAA, the defense spending bill which allows for indefinite detention of US Citizens without charges, without a lawyer and for an indefinite period of time.

I wrote an article yesterday as to why Lindsey Graham, the senator from South Carolina, should lose his law license for supporting and writing the NDAA, the defense spending bill which he wrote with John McCain, the senator from Arizona. (http://trifter.com/usa-canada/lindsey-graham-should-be-disbarred-for-writing-ndaa/). John McCain, the Republican nominee for President in 2008, has recently endorsed Mitt Romney for President and is campaigning with him. Unfortunately, we must conclude that Mitt Romney supports the NDAA and the indefinite detention of US citizens in the name of keeping us safe from terrorism. I hope that Romney is asked about this in one of the upcoming debates. Or maybe someone can ask him on one of his campaign visits. He is campaigning today in South Carolina with Governor Haley and Senator McCain.

Since Mittens Romney has accepted the endorsement of John McCain, there is a rebuttable presumption that he supports the NDAA. Even if he comes out and condemns the NDAA or distances himself from that, can he really be trusted to be honest or to not change his mind and be a flip-flopper like he is on many of the issues of the day? I don’t think so. Ron Paul has come out and condemned the NDAA which is one of the many reasons I am supporting him. Ron Paul has been genuine and honest and consistent for the last 30 years, so I do believe him.

As I also wrote yesterday, this race for the Republican nomination is down to Ron Paul or Mittens Romney. (http://socyberty.com/politics/republican-race-after-iowa-two-man-race-paul-romney/) It is obvious that Republicans are eager to defeat Barack Obama in November. I understand. However, there needs to be a true alternative to Obama under the Republican brand. Romney is not; Paul is. The electorate understands this. If the Republicans nominate Mittens Romney as I fear they will, Obama will be re-elected since there is not enough of a difference between Obama and Romney on the important issues. Ron Paul has cross-over appeal and can defeat Obama, especially with the demographic of 18-29. Ron Paul, despite being 76 years old, is the future of the Republican party. Even if Ron does not get the nomination, he is changing the Republican Party and setting things up for his son, Rand, to win the presidency in 2016 or 2020.

If I get the chance to ask this question, I would verse it this way: Governor Romney, you have accepted the endorsement of Senator McCain. Senator McCain helped write the Defense spending bill which allows for detention of US citizens without trial or counsel. Do you support this bill as Senator McCain wrote it or would you change it and how so?

I ask the voters in New Hampshire and South Carolina and states beyond to take a careful look at these issues before they vote for the nice man with the good looking hair. Looks can be deceiving.

http://socyberty.com/politics/abc-and-nbc-new-hampshire-debates-suck-no-discussion-on-ndaa/ Update: Nothing on the NDAA in either New Hampshire debate yesterday. Shame to ABC and NBC, but no surprise.

Update: http://socyberty.com/politics/mitt-romney-supports-the-end-of-the-bill-of-rights-ndaa-2/ Fox News did ask the question and Romney supports the NDAA.

Senator.

John Sidney McCain III (born August 29, 1936) is the senior United States Senator from Arizona. He was the Republican nominee for president in the 2008 United States election.

McCain followed his father and grandfather, both four-star admirals, into the United States Navy, graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1958. He became a naval aviator, flying ground-attack aircraft from aircraft carriers. During the Vietnam War, he was almost killed in the 1967 USS Forrestal fire. In October 1967, while on a bombing mission over Hanoi, he was shot down, seriously injured, and captured by the North Vietnamese. He was a prisoner of war until 1973. McCain experienced episodes of torture, and refused an out-of-sequence early repatriation offer. His war wounds left him with lifelong physical limitations.

He retired from the Navy as a captain in 1981 and moved to Arizona, where he entered politics. Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982, he served two terms, and was then elected to the U.S. Senate in 1986, winning re-election easily four times, most recently in 2010. While generally adhering to conservative principles, McCain at times has had a media reputation as a “maverick” for his willingness to disagree with his party on certain issues. After being investigated and largely exonerated in a political influence scandal of the 1980s as a member of the Keating Five, he made campaign finance reform one of his signature concerns, which eventually led to the passage of the McCain-Feingold Act in 2002. He is also known for his work towards restoring diplomatic relations with Vietnam in the 1990s, and for his belief that the war in Iraq should be fought to a successful conclusion. McCain has chaired the Senate Commerce Committee, opposed spending that he considered to be pork barrel, and played a key role in alleviating a crisis over judicial nominations.

McCain ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2000 but lost a heated primary season contest to George W. Bush. He secured the nomination in 2008 after coming back from early reversals, but lost to Democratic candidate Barack Obama in the general election. He subsequently adopted more orthodox conservative stances and attitudes and largely opposed actions of the Obama administration.
