Almost thirteen years ago, the former President of Philippines Joseph Ejercito Estrada, appointed the former General Panfilo Lacson, as the New Philippine National Police Chief. The Supreme Court recognized his appointment. While the Cabinet members and the Congress claimed that his appointment was not lawfully approved by the Committee on Appointments, prescribed by the Law. It was also criticized by human advocates who accused him, involved on the purported execution of 11 suspected members of kidnap-robbery gang in 1995. Now my idol is already a Senator.
