Here I go again, harping on the immigration issue. Today, I wirte about how Mexico's president is a reflection of the immorality and unethical behavior in MExicans I have written about before.

Okay, let me see, if I can do this again. Personally I am tired of all this immigration debate. However, I do believe I am obligate by some code of honor to speak the truth.

I was born in the city of Juarez in the state of Chihuahua in the country of Mexico. The year was 1966. When I was I four years old, my family moved to El Paso, Texas, my parents not bothering to fix my immigration status. All my siblings are natural born Americans.

Now, through out my life I have not been indoctrinated in to any particular culture and/or subculture. My parents did not tell me how to think. I have zero sentiment towards the so-called Hispanic culture. I reiterate that I do not fly the Hispanic flag, nor do I salute the Hispanic flag.

I consider my self, human. My life values are human values. I believe in the proposition that free people should be left alone to live their lives according to their wishes as long as they are not trying to harm some one else.

In addition, I believe life and a country has to be administrated. Life does not just happen on its own. If I were to attempt an analysis between life and American immigration it would be that lack attention to a life leads to crisis, which explains the current immigration status in America.

With all do respect my American neighbors who see all the problems caused by Mexicans in American society and want change, you allowed this to happen. It is correct that it was politicians pandering to the immigrant lobby who contributed to an attitude and to laws, which are responsible for the current immigration crisis in America. However, why were these politicians able to do what they did in this debate?

The answer is because Americans were asleep at the wheel. I have written this before. Moreover, it appears to me that many Americans are going to allow politicians to manipulate the immigration issues and create laws that will further encourage Mexicans to come in to the US illegally.

Yesterday’s presentation by the Mexican president at the American congress represents two things. One, it represents that American elected officials do not care about all the hardship illegally immigration causes hard working, law abiding, and tax paying American citizens. Second, it represents the immorality and unethical practices in Mexicans I have written about before.

The leader of Mexico came to the US to chastise Americans because Mexico is the benefactors of over 21 billion dollars of money illegal immigrants from Mexico send back to Mexico. Therefore, current American attitude and the new anti-immigrant law in Arizona that have created a perceived culture of discrimination against Hispanics are not the issues. The Mexicans president’s comments have nothing to do with his moral indignation about the human rights of his citizens being violated in the US.

It is about money. I ask you, “ is fake indignation immoral?” Is fake indignation that has at its base monetary interest unethical?

See, in the leadership of Mexico we see examples of immorality and unethical behavior. Calderon was not here because of his concern for his citizens. Calderon has no real interest in basic human standards. He was just in American trying to manipulate the hearts and minds of Americans so his country would not fall apart economically when illegal immigrants can not longer send money back to Mexico.

I am going to tell you what the moral responsibility Americans have for Mexicans. Americans cannot be the facilitators of immoral and unethical behavior in Mexicans. Mexicans have a country. They are healthy and capable of taking care of them selves in their country.

If you and I are walking down a mountain and we run across an injured and unconscious person, we have a great moral responsibility for this person. This is not the case with Mexicans. There is a lot of violence in Mexico. However, criminals are killing criminals.

People with little or no education are going to struggle wherever they are in the world. Mexico’s government makes has no provision for public education. If you have money to pay your child’s tuition, your kid gets an education in Mexico. Again, I state that by average Mexicans bribing the tax collector, the Mexican government does not have enough money to function properly. The Mexican has money because all he or she saves by not pay their taxes. The corrupt tax collector has money because of the bribes he takes. However, the Mexican government does not get any money.

Now, awhile back I was bored and reading some of the comments people have posted to some of my articles. Some one wanted to know were where my “citations” to articles that could verify my points of view. I am a 44-year-old man, born in Mexico, who has grown up in a border city, and is surrounded by Mexicans. You are not going to tell me about Mexicans. I will tell you about Mexicans.

I know about the internal resistance against forming a false judgment against a neighbor. What I tell you about Mexicans is expert eyewitness testimony. I was there, at the scene of the crime.

Where are you? Do you speak Spanish? Do you have access to Mexican television and Mexican newspapers? How many Mexicans have you encountered in your life? How many Mexicans do you interact with on a day-to-day basis?

In addition, though my college degree was a disappointment in the career world, it did drill a sense of accuracy and fairness in me. I have always been a miserable student. This resulted struggling greatly when I was in college. However, the desire to pass fueled learning, learning, and learning. Subjects I struggled at most, I worked hard at passing.

Okay, I am not a great writer. However, I know about not lying and clearly stating that what I write is my opinion based on what I have observed.

This is why I keep at this immigration subject. In my mind, illegal immigration is a settled issue. Americans have to elect public servants who will secure the border and who will take away all the laws that allow Mexicans the ability to abuse American society.

I believe the goal in America is to have a successful country. Law abiding citizens, who are personally responsible, and who administrate their civic responsibilities well contribute to a successful country.

Yes, the liberals have created a class of dependent individuals with an entitlement mentality. When the citizens of the US try to organize their country with law and order, these people get angry. They need to understand that the US government gives no one anything.

The taxpayer funds all government programs. Therefore, it is correct that the opinions that count are the opinions of those who are paying the bills. Do Americans want to solve the immigration problem in a manner were the solution leads to financial savings and a equitable solution? Do Americans want to keep spending and not fixing anything?

Politicians, democrats and republicans alike, are afraid of the Hispanic vote. Why don’t all you decent hard working Americans upset with a problem that won’t go away, show these politicians who they should really be afraid of in America.

I was more surprised then any one else at the display at the US congress on May 20, 2010. A foreign leader, coming to the US to tell Americans how they should behave, when Mexicans do not want Americans to tell them how they should behave. This is the epitome, of an ungrateful and vulgar guest.

However, I must say it is the average American who is the problem. In my opinion, all that matters is who gets elected to the US congress in November 2010.

Rand Paul in a great failure in judgment. I was reading his web site and it appears that Mr. Paul believes that the Patriot Act violated people’s civil liberties. This is good rhetoric for liberals. However, to date, I have not seen any evidence that supports the idea that the Patriot Act was used to violate the civil liberties of Americans.

I wonder about the mentality of any one who can have such a belief in light of there not being any supporting evidence for such a belief. I am even more concerned about voters who cannot see that Rand Paul is a clever politician who, in my opinion, is saying the right thing in order to get elected.

At time where it is crucial that the American voters make quality decisions, Mr. Rand Paul’s victory is of great concern to me. I do not believe he is a conservative. A conservative does not believe that government should be abolished, just the activities of government and governmental power needs to be reigned in by citizens.

Therefore, I must repeat that there has to be an education and experience-measuring device used to choose republican candidates. Moreover, words matter. Any one can read what is on Rand Paul’s web site. I reviewed it and I found the statements that government should not be involved in the drug war, lack of support for the war in Iraq, and claims that the Patriot Act violated people’s civil liberties concerning.

About thirty Hells Angels bang through the door; boots, chains, beards, Colors and all. The noise level jumps to a gazillion disables immediately. Women run for the back door, the bar tender starts pulling beer bottles out by the handful almost throwing them on the bar.

This is a little story from my unproductive time spent in the U.S. Army. But it has little to do with me. This is Carl’s story. However, a little background is necessary.

We were stationed not more than a twenty-minute bus ride from Juarez Mexico. It’s just across the boarder from El Paso Texas. Jesus, I had always thought El Paso was only in Cowboy stories. But sure enough that’s what the sign said when I got off the plane. As you might expect, Army pay was minimal, a couple of hundred bucks a month and so stretching the dollar was of paramount importance. Therefore Mexico offered a frugal means to explore the rich historical aspects of a foreign country and experience the local customs and culture.

Yea right! We were a bunch of twenty something year olds hell bent for wine women and song however I don’t remember much singing. But it’s true you couldn’t beat the prices; twenty-five cents for a bottle of beer, thirty-five cents for a mixed drink and fifty-two cents for a roasted half chicken dinner with coke. Even on Army pay you could do quite well in Ciudad Juarez.

That brings me to Carl. He was another draftee doing his time in boredom just like the rest of us. There was nothing unusual about him other than he kept a denim jacket in his footlocker carefully wrapped. These were his “Colors” and they were important to him. It seems our boy Carl envisioned himself as a member of a Chicago Motorcycle Enthusiast Organization named “The Cluchmen”. I had never heard of them at the time but as he defined it, they had a certain affiliation or association with the Hell’s Angels. Now them I have heard of.

Carl had some good stories, as did we all. These were often related during intoxicated bouts in such wonderful places as: The Cave, The Blue American Club, and The Red Parrot among others. Solid family entertainment establishments all, with a “working staff “ egger to provide comfort for those so far from home (GI’s often need comfort).

Carl’s stories of fun and mischief sometimes bordered on, shall we say, unlawful, insane, dangerous and downright scary business. The general opinion was that these stories were exaggerated and possibly embellished by large quantities of alcohol and drugs. No harm done, by in large Carl was a stand-up guy. Well-mannered, kind to old people and children, the type of guy you might bring home to meet your sister.

One Saturday afternoon a few of us are having a beer down in Juarez at the Indian Club where the girls all wore head bands (Hey, no judgments – My age group all had a thing for Princes Summerfall Winterspring). Outside the sun is hot and the streets are noisy as always but inside it’s cool and quiet. Then, guess who stopped by for a cold one?…….
About thirty Hells Angels bang through the door; boots, chains, beards, Colors and all. The noise level jumps to a gazillion disables immediately. Women run for the back door, the bar tender starts pulling beer bottles out by the handful almost throwing them on the bar and anyone near the front door makes a hasty exit. It was like being in a Marlon Brando Movie. But this was no movie.

Our little group of four is not so lucky. We are seated to the rear away from all doors and windows. I’m thinking, “My weapon is back at the armory but I’m sure these guys brought their own. I hate being the only one in an ax fight without an ax.” Not that there would have been much of a fight given there numbers and size. Some of these guys looked like they eat engine blocks for breakfast.

Then there is Carl. He stands up and is in a dead stare at the Angles. You’ve seen this stare. It’s the same one that a fool gives to a growling Doberman. I immediately start to wonder if our bodies will ever be found. Too late, a few of the Angeles have noticed and are returning the stare. What happened next was fast and without hesitation. There is a Angel right up in front of Carl’s face breathing beer and smoke on him and he immediately reaches behind Carl’s head and crushes him to his chest while yelling, Mother #@*%#@………. He lets him go and kisses the SOB while holding his head between big ugly hands. Carl returns the gesture with a, “How the #@*%#@ are you!” They know each other. I’ll be damned…. and thank you Jesus!

Well, up to the bar the bunch of us go, me checking my pants for wet spots. Introductions all around but I swear I don’t remember any of their names to this day. Learned a few interesting things about various symbols and badges on Angel Colors, whatever modesty I have prevents me from going into that here.

Found out that Angels also respect military service. They all do it or at least they all did it back then. The Marine Corps was apparently full of them. Thank God a few of them saw through Carl’s short hair and civilian dress. I suppose it was not that uncommon for them to run into associates doing there service time. Carl, who could almost pass for the boy next door flips like a switch. Everything changes, facial expressions, posture, even the sound of his voice. Talk about The Three Faces of Eve! Other than a clean shave and the dorky haircut he blended right in.
After a few more beers Carl left with them and we didn’t see him for the rest of the weekend. He got back to base Monday morning none the worse for ware. He was happier than usual for a few weeks after that. I guess he got his fix of the life he had put on hold. As for the rest of us that were with him that day a mental note was made by all not to introduce Carl to our sisters or anyone else’s sister for that mater.

The next time he came back from leave he brought his bike back with him. Since I had a license and some experience on a big bike he let me ride it a few time. The thing was awesome; Chopped Triumph, Ape Hangers and the chrome and sound to go with it. Talk about riding a thunderbolt. That picture on the side is Carl in his Colors. I have no right to show his face so I cropped it out. I ETS’d (Got out of the Army) before him so I don’t know for sure what he planned to do when he got out. I can only assume he went back to the life he missed so much. I hope he met a nice girl, sold the bike and had a family, never letting his kids have a motorcycle. He was a good friend to me during that time and I can only wish him well.
