Images of sharp objects that have been forced into somebody’s head always get people wincing sympathetically, certain that the person involved must be dead, because brain injuries are almost always fatal.

There are any number of items that can be used as weapons. Dangerous in the trained hands, potentially even more so in untrained, especially to yourself. No matter how mundane, any item can be used as a weapon.

The most frightening thing about the Charles Manson family was that it was made up of young men and women from average upstanding families. Manson was able to get these youngsters under his control with charisma that drew them into his lifestyle. He convinced them to set out with knives to murder strangers. In August 9, 1969 young women dressed in black stabbed and killed movie star, Sharon Tate and four others to death with multiple stab wounds. The words "Helter Skelter" was written in blood at the murder scene.
