            Upon picking up this manga, I thought it sounded fairly decent. A war that involves Guardians and machines, that is being fought over a “Kami” with red blood? What could possibly be wrong about that? My hunch was right. Though the story can be a bit hard to follow at times, as it often leads to flashbacks and random destinations, it is definitely worth reading.

            First up are Guardian Leo and his machine-weapon Asha. Each individual machine-weapon has its own element. As the name probably gives away, Asha is the fire elemental machine-weapon, which bestows Leo with the ability to control fire when he fuses with Asha. He was defeated by Shio in a battle to obtain the opponents machine-weapon to power-up the Guardian. Shio, the other main character, is another Guardian who has the machine-weapon Armaiti, who is the earth elemental. Since earth has an advantage over fire, to anyone who has ever played pokemon before, it was easy to see why Shio beat Leo. Last but not least is Kami. Kami is the only red-blooded human of the black-blooded world of WaqWaq, which deems her as the true savior of the world, as she can use her blood to grant one Guardian a wish. Some guardians wish for ultimate strength, or unlimited knowledge, while others wish for prosperity, and wealth. But few, just a few, wish for the world to be at peace once again, without the fear of being attacked by machines.

            After their battle, Leo and Shio decide to travel together, and on the way, they meet other Guardians, who also battle Leo and Shio in an attempt to consume Armaiti, so that they can learn the elements that Armaiti has absorbed. The two battle together, desperately trying not to be killed, so that one day, their wish might be granted. While the wishes of everyone that the machine-weapons have consumed flow through the veins of the Guardian, the strain on their strength increases more and more with each new machine and machine-weapon they absorb, as that adds the wishes of machines and weapons alike to the owner of the machine-weapon.

            I would highly recommend this manga to anyone who likes machines, weapons, fantasies, action, advanced technology, or is just looking for something to pick up and read once in awhile. Any of these are well suited to this book, and it is in my believe that most who enjoy these topics would enjoy this series.

            Due to content, such as blood and violence, I would recommend this to anyone over the mid-teen demographics, as there is multiple events of violence, and minimal amounts of blood.

As in all aspects of your life, always on the show is part of your mother’s side.
