The difference between what is said and the truth of the matter.

Don’t you think it’s odd that Mitt Romney was a governor but he’s not running on that record because
when he took office job creation for that state was 35th out of 50. By the time he left it was 47th out
of 50. So much for his job creating skills.

He claims to have created 100,000 jobs at Bain. Well if you talk to American workers who had the
unfortunate luck to cross paths with Romney they’ll tell you a different story. on “Fact Checker”
they gave Romney 4 Pinocchio for embellishing the truth

Romney has proved time and again that he has no empathy for people. No remorse for harm that he
caused and no regard for the truth. Voter fraud he committed comes to mind.

The last thing we need in the Oval office is monster like him

Wherever you look nowadays there is someone telling us what is going to happen...why don't they just shut up?

I was reading a piece on the Internet just a couple of days ago, you know the kind of thing, the world is going to end on such and such a day, Jesus is coming back on this day or that day, those that have been good are OK, those that have been sinners have had it. There is also, apparently, a huge asteriod heading our way, it’s a race to see if that destroys us or the earthquakes and fire and brimstone get us first.

So why do all these people spend time in providing us with ‘prophetic’ warnings? Is it that they honestly believe any of the events could happen soon? Are they all just philantropic individuals intent on saving us from some awesome and doom filled end? Or could there be a more simple, and maybe sinister, meaning?

It is strange that the governments of the world seem not too bothered about these so called ‘coming events’. The modern day ‘prophets’ of course just pass this off with the usual ‘governments keeping the truth from us all’, or there is some ‘great conspiricy’ that prevents us from learning ‘the truth’. On the other hand should we not expect our governments to decry these doom mongers out of hand? After all there are some people that are very badly effected by some of these stories. Suicide pacts have been formed by some religious communes due to presumed ‘end times’ events. So, what is going on. I will tell you how I see it, and you must form your own opinions of course.

Firstly, all these so called prophets are after something. This could be getting you to buy their book, download their written works (for free even), listen to their broadcasts or maybe even watch them on TV. It lifts them to a higher level, they become ’someone’. Nothing wrong with that of course; if that’s what sails their boat then let them get on with it. However, when they start to tell us that they speak the truth, sometimes ‘in God’s name’, then it really is time shout out STOP! They know nothing more than you or me. They do NOT have any powers to allow them to see even one second into the future. There may well be a huge asteroid heading our way, we could all be wiped out by earthquakes and other natural disasters; yes, and maybe Jesus is returning to sort out the wheat from the chaff, but no one knows when, or even if, any of these things will happen. If you come across somebody who tells you they can, then they are lying to you. They are just misguided, or plain mischevious, people who should know better. So what’s the best way to ward off these pesky scoundrels? I’ll tell you what I do, and for me it works.

Live each day in the best way you can. Be good to your neighbour, kind to the young and the old, patient with those in between. Be as truthful as you can, honest in your dealings with others. Think before you speak, especially if you are angry. Eat well, drink alchohol in moderation, and smile as often as you can. What will all this do?

It probably won’t make you live any longer (although it might), it probably won’t make you rich (although it might). It will make you happier as a person, more fun to be around, and it will prevent you from being drawn into the realms governed by the so called prophets. There is a very short and funny little story about a man who predicted the start of World War 3, it goes something like this.

This man was going around telling anyone who would listen that WW3 was soon to start. This war would be devastating in it’s power, and many nuclear weapons would be used. Sure enough, war was declared and all the major nations formed into their differing power groups; it looked like the man was correct, and that all Hell was going to be let loose. In fact what happened was that the various nation groups thought about the consequences of where they were all heading, and decided to talk things out; but not before one single bomber had taken off loaded with a nuclear bomb. This bomber flew out and dropped the bomb it was carrying, down it went, screaming like the very devil from Hell himself. It landed but did not explode; it was a dud; it did not arm itself on the drop! However, there was one casualty. The bomb landed on the ‘prophet’; divine justice some might say. It’s just a story, but such a sweet ending don’t you think.

There exists in this world enough fear and trepidation without the need of these so called prophets peddling their ideas. Please, disregard them; all of them; you will find the world a much brighter place.

The uncomfortable reality of false friends.

Without warning M, who you thought was your friend, attacks you for something that you not only didn’t do/say but couldn’t have done/said. Before you try to defend yourself, wasting time, sending up your blood pressure, churning your emotions, get to the point; This Person is NOT your friend. This person has NEVER been your friend. This person has always wanted to find something Against you, and is willing to manufacture or accept anything negative about you.

There are two types of false friends; one is the innately false, the person who has befriended you to use you, the other thinks so little of you s/he is willing to believe anything which casts you in a bad light. A few, of course, are trying to plase your current ‘enemy’ so attack you to curry favor.

For example, a person you haven’t heard from in years attacks you for something done in the past, something you don’t remember at all. Before trying to defend yourself, fall silent. If you re on email or the phone do not respond, end the call. If in real life, go away.

The facts are very clear. If you had offended someone twenty years ago they have had twenty years to vent their speen. They haven’t. As you have no guilty feelings you have contacted them or put yourself in a position for them to contact you, but all done with a clean spirit. This is because there is nothing you have done.

Clearly, there is a third party who is using you to distract. Especially when s/he is the one sho is gulty.

There is no reason to explain why you couldn’t have done/said; because the person who has done the act has worked very hard to cast blame on you. That the other is willing to forget reality and accept the new version says more about them then you.

Silence works wonders. it allows the stooge to reflect and perhaps realize they are being used. And best of all, it protects you from another false friend.

Encouraging children to always tell the truth.

For some children, depending on their age, lying to a parent can range from small fibs over who dropped the eggs on the floor and did not clean up, to big carbuncles where money has gone missing in the house and no one knows anything about it. Usually someone knows; the person who took it. In any event, a three year old knows when he tells a lie that he is doing wrong and usually the lie is to escape punishment. As he grows older and becomes more developed he may discover that telling a lie has advantages and that by telling them he not only gets what he wants, but someone else gets the blame for what he’s done. The number one disadvantage for telling a lie is that you forget what you lied about previously, and you get caught up in your own lies.

How to handle continuous and unnecessary lying

· Set strict rules with consequences for anyone stealing money from the kitty, and list the punishment which can range from a two-hour timeout to no allowance for that week. When the child is found lying, carry out the punishment and don’t veer from it. Children have to know that you mean what you say and know that there will be consequences. If you don’t act on it they will take you for granted and not pay much attention the next time you chastize them. Punishment for a toddler need not be anything greater than a two minute timeout in his room.

· As a child grows older and is more developed you can start to reason with him. Something like, “if you tell mummy a lie, I will not know when you are telling the truth and I won’t believe you again even though it might be the truth.”

· Punishment does not mean sending him for a two minute timeout where he can have the remote control to the television set. It will in fact be a reward where he can watch his own program in peace.

· Encourage a child to always tell the truth, especially when he owns up to the infraction. Always punish and reward a child without threatening that you will tell his father. That sets the father up as the bad guy.

· Don’t become frustrated and spank. Cutting into his playtime or banning him from watching television is far more effective. Don’t label your child as a liar, but work with him to improve.

I took part in a poll in 2011 and as the topic began to die off the forum, I found something that to me that was alarming.

An anonymous Christian friend of mine who is a member of the same Internet forum I belong to in Dorchester County started a discussion on what we tell children in regard to Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and so on. At that time, we were able to take polls, so my friend posted the following question and options in a poll:

Do / Did you lie to your children about Santa, etc?

Yes.

No.

I don’t consider it a lie.

The graphic right below this gives you the results.

Screen shot by author.

The results show two (8 percent) said yes, five (20 percent) said no, and an overwhelming 72 percent (18) said they did not consider it a lie.

What I found alarming was not that two said yes, but the majority, eighteen, did not consider it a lie. I would think there is more hope for the two than the eighteen. The eighteen who enjoy falsehood have convinced themselves they have done no wrong. These deceivers have deceived themselves.

Deception is a dangerous poison that blurs the spiritual focus and discernment of those being deceived and the deceivers themselves.

Lying is bad enough, but when parents / guardians / teachers refuse to call a lie a lie, this type of thinking is passed downed to the children under them. I feel this adds to the fact that most people do not really surrender to Christ, and when some do, there are those who treat their belief the same way as they would as believing in The Tooth Fairy or Santa. I described what true belief is in a recent article titled, “Why I Use The Sinner’s Prayer.”

Though this was a very small poll, had millions been polled I would expect the same results. Given the fact that President Barack Obama did absolutely nothing to merit the Nobel Peace Prize, I think the world is getting ready to believe the lie (2 Thessalonians 2:11). This is no wonder when people have foolishly convinced themselves that telling a child Santa is real is not a lie even though it is not the truth. If it is not true, is it not a lie?

Let us make this determination (Proverbs 8:7): “For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.”

Notes:

God willing this article will be part of my Bible GemLight series as apatite002.

The rain wouldn’t stop. I kept wishing for brighter days you know. But perhaps even the brightest ray of sunshine cannot penetrate these walls. The walls that I built to keep myself away from humanity.

The world is a cruel place. Perhaps if you see it through my eyes you’ll understand. No, it’s not the world, it’s the people that live in it. I have lived long enough to know this, and that is why these walls have gone rather thick. I don’t want to be hurt anymore. I refuse to hurt anyone either. It’s sad. The reality where we all live in. It’s all full of lies. It’s ironic because it’s called “real”-ity. I’ve been deceived countless times, by numerous people, whom I have called friends. Or are they?

Love, Lies, Betrayal, And Deceit - Why Do We Lie To Those We Love?

Why do married couples, men and friends, lie to each other?

Our romances are hardly ever what they seem. We all want a connection that is designed on visibility, closeness, and believe in, but in fact, our connections do not always perform that way. More often than not, our romantic connections include secrecy and deception. Actually, if you want to look for can be found and disloyality in your own lifestyle, the best beginning is near to home. Spouses and partner, men and friends, often lie about their real thoughts for each other, the thoughts they have for others, and their investment level. Indeed, it is safe to say that individuals save their greatest and most serious can be found for those they really like.

For better or more intense, our romances are full of paradoxes which we try to forget, play down and neglect. For the most part, this technique works well. Until the day comes when it does not, and with little caution or planning we have to experience face-on the actuality that our near connections are not exactly what they appear to be.

Eventually, almost everyone will get a partner or associate in one of their can be found. Certainly, we have difficulties interacting with what we have discovered and interacting with the point that someone near has tricked our believe in. We do not anticipate our fans to deceive us, nor do we have knowing into how and why can be found happens.

In equity, it should also be described that it is just as likely that a associate or partner will get you in one of your own efforts to deceived. And surprisingly, we are just as not really prepared to cope with this type of scenario.

Ignoring the paradoxes designed in in our romances changes out to be a expensive technique and most individuals pay the price for this decision, abruptly, and all at once. It’s not so much that coming to conditions with the use of can be found in romances will fix all of the issues you are going to experience, but it will guarantee help to decrease the pressure, pressure, and concern that happen when can be found gradually comes to lighting.

In actuality, when it comes really like and romantic endeavors, most of the things we believe, are not real. Most individuals believe that all of their marriage or relational issues can be settled through “communication.” We believe that can be found is challenging to obtain, that inaccurate a associate needs a lot of attempt and thought, and that enchanting fans can tell when a sweetheart is relaxing, and so on. None of these commonly presented values, however, are reinforced by the proof. Rather, our romances are presented together by a sensitive stability of both candor and deception. And both are crucial to making our romantic connections perform.

In actuality, romances include two essential functions which allow can be found to flourish: numerous chance, as well as the need to deceived. As we get near to another individual, we deliberately and accidentally offer them with a lot of information about who we are, disclosing ourselves through both our conditions and actions. Developing this type of closeness or distributed understanding is crucial, as it assists as the groundwork for a lot of essential advantages. Through our near connections, we make profits with regard to our health, money, and psychological well-being.

Because connections offer so many essential advantages, it should come as no shock that individuals have a tendency to perspective their enchanting fans in a good lighting. We position a lot of believe in in our enchanting fans. We think we know them well. But while our believe in absolutely provides us with a feeling of protection and relaxation, it also sets the earth for deception. For as we believe in our fans more, we also become more assured but less precise at identifying when in fact being informed.

Every appropriate research attests to the point that fans are dreadful at informing when their fans are relaxing. Actually, discovering can be found with anyone is challenging to do, but fans control to take this common failing to a amazing low. Again, as we become more assured that we can tell when a sweetheart is relaxing, the actual reverse changes out to be real. This “truth-bias” or “blind faith” provides the best chance of enchanting fans to practice can be found. After all, who makes a better sufferer than someone who is willing and willing to believe in everything you have to say?

Not only do near connections make a amazing chance of can be found to happen, they also make the need. While romances offer many advantages, they also are generally far too constrictive. Most everyone has sensed the restrictions of a near connection from a chance to time; quite simply you are no longer free to do what you want, when you want, and with whom you want. So closeness provides remarkable advantages, but at an tremendous cost – the decrease of your independence and independence.

Lying to a enchanting associate allows us cope with the restrictions that our romantic connections can charge. Quite seriously, misleading a enchanting associate changes out to be the most effective and effective way of maintaining the advantages we get from our romances while seeking extra-relational objectives and actions behind a lover’s returning.

How do we decide when to lie and when to tell the truth? Well, most of time we do not deliberately think about inaccurate our fans. Rather such choices are controlled by our thoughts and just seem to happen when the right scenario provides itself. Often a feeling of pleasure, chance, and pleasure can cause us down routes we had no objective of visiting. A feeling of worry, reduction, and worry, on the other hand, immediate us to cover-up what we’ve done and be more traditional in the short-term. Fortunately our thoughts are very good at examining circumstances and maintaining our inaccurate conduct within boundaries. Our thoughts immediate us to restore some of our liberties while also enabling us to sustain the advantages we get from our romantic connections.

When you take a take a step returning and put it completely, the image that comes out tends to be rather interesting. Because our romances are so fulfilling yet constrictive, we are at the same time more genuine and more inaccurate with those we really like. Furthermore, we position the most believe in in the individual who is most likely to deceived us, just as we are most likely to deceived the individual who likes and trusts us the most. These are just a few of the paradoxes that appear when getting a near look at the use of can be found in our romances. Most of what is discovered operates reverse to our most valued values about really like and romance; that is, the idea that finish visibility and closeness are a main and interpreting function of being in really like.

Initially most individuals prevent looking for can be found by a beloved. But as you begin to analyze your own conduct more carefully it becomes more complicated to disregard the level to which can be found, disloyality, secrecy and deception are ever existing in our near connections. Hopefully, you will take on a higher gratitude for the reasons of your connections as well as a better knowing of what it means to be in really like. Regardless of concluding, getting a near look at can be found in your lifestyle will change the way you perspective yourself and others.

The five most common lies a man will tell you.

Both men and women lie, but some men have been notorious for their lying. I’ve asked a couple of friends recently on what they have commonly lie about to their love interest or partner. Here are the top 5 lies men will you tell you.

5. “I missed your call, sorry”

Most of the time, they didn’t miss your call. They just want some space from you, but they don’t know how to tell you gently. Quite frankly, they think by ignoring your call, they’re doing you a favor. Boy are they wrong. Communication is key.

4. “I’ll be there in 5 minutes”

How often has your significant other told you that they’ll be there in 5 minutes but then end up 30 minutes late? Sure, they may be running late, but chances are they don’t want to go to that boring family BBQ, or dinner party.

3. “I’m Fine”

Many women often use this line, but let’s not forget that men do too! Men often say that they’re fine because they don’t want to emasculate themselves, typical male ego.

2. “This is the last time, I swear”

If it’s been more than 2 times, you should highly doubt that this time will be any different than any other time. If it’s something serious such as smoking or gambling, this could be seriously detrimental to the relationship

1. “I love you”

Often, in early stages of a relationship men may feel compelled to tell their girlfriend “I love you” even though they don’t mean it. This usually applies when the you’ve said it first.

What lies do you think men often tell?

Hm...another one of those dark times in my life. I really enjoy writing to get the crazies all out.
This is from last month. Let it spook you.

Some times…as I lie cold and alone in this room…I take a hold of my veins between my chalky teeth and just gnaw on them. I lay in a multicolored pool of tears. Tears that just never stop coming. The taste of the veins are like metal..and metal and something else…something familiar. Like Metal and Nostalgia. Chewing on my veins is like a security blanket. Except no one could ever pry those baby blue and Twizzler red strings from my cold, dead and unmoving mouth.

This room is so cold. Death has me in a motherly embrace. I don’t want it. I just cry and quietly ask for it to just let me go…I don’t want to be touched. Not in this room. This room is not filled with anything good at all. For the entire time being in that room….my beating heart just gets…slower….and slower…

1234…1234…….1234……..123…………12………….1

It’s so cold.

Where am I?

I hear maniacal laughter.

All I can see is black.

Cool, sleek and unnerving darkness.

Where is all of this coming from?

I don’t…I can’t even begin to comprehend.

This is the least visited room of mine.

That’s a lie.

I visit this room almost every day.

Why? What makes me come here? Why? Fucking why? Don’t you have a fucking answer for me? Hm? You seem to know what’s best. You always have the answers.

Why are you so speechless? Why is that dumb look plastered on your face? Why won’t these questions stop squirming under my skin?

They’ll never be able to leave my god forsaking body.

God.

Oh my god.

Why?

Why oh fucking why?

Poor me. Let’s all have a good fucking cry and eat some ice cream.

I feel like I’m losing control.

The floor caves in under my feet.

Where am I? Who am I? And who are these people?

I am completely and utterly alone.

What is today? Friday? Wednesday?

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

I miss you miss you

But who?

Who am I even kidding? I’m a fucking liar. I know all the answers to these question.

Another lie. I don’t. I have no idea. When will this pain lessen?

I heave a long empty sigh…as the moths come pouring out. They cover my body and I slowly start to fall asleep.

I wake up and everything is all white and glowing.

I’m a ghost.

Obamacare will not cost twice as much as expected, but don't let this lie (or for that matter any other lie) get in the way of the True Believers.

“In earlier times they had no statistics and so they had to fall back on lies. Hence the huge exaggerations of primitive literature, giants, miracles, wonders! It’s the size that counts. They did it with lies and we do it with statistics: but it’s all the same.” Stephen Leacock, Canadian political scientist and humorist (1869-1944).

The ease with which lies can be concocted out of statistical reports is illustrated by a rather alarming interpretation of the recent Congressional Budget Office report on the projected cost of the Affordable Care Act. Now, the report is no bargain; it’s knee deep in bureaucratic mumbo-jumbo and not so easy to interpret, but one would think a responsible journalist would try to legitimately get to the bottom of it. If it were too complex, he or she might even give the CBO or some reputable economist a jingle.

But this one was just too easy to exploit. Hence the startling headline that the CBO had raised the estimated cost of Obamacare from $940 billion to $1,762 billion, reported first by a right-wing blogger Conn Carroll in the Washington Examiner blog, and then ricocheted around the internet and the mainstream media until by repetition – and obviously not investigation – the allegation became pseudo-fact.

One little problem. The allegation is pure fiction. Ask the CBO, which wrote on March 16: “Some of the commentary on those reports has suggested that CBO and JCT have changed their estimates of the effects of the ACA to a significant degree. That’s not our perspective.”

It’s not their perspective because the Carroll article compared apples and oranges: the first CBO estimate in March 2010 taking into account 2010-2019, with only about six years of full ACA implementation, and the second 2012-2022, with about nine years. According to the CBO and blogger Ezra Klein, comparing the same time periods yields an increase of about 8% in gross costs, mostly because of the slower than expected recovery from recession, and an actual decrease in net costs of the plan, mostly because Congress has increased certain penalties for noncompliance. All this, of course, is before taking into account Medicare cuts and other revenue producers, which still leaves the ACA in the black over the projection period. Basically, according to CBO, there’s nothing really new here folks. You can take your pitchforks back to the barn.

But these lies never go away, and there are enough such lies lying around these days, and millions of people who believe them. There are birther lies, Obama-is-a-Muslim lies, Obama-is-a-European-Socialist lies, no-climate-change lies, creationist lies and dozens of other lies. But the worst part about these lies is that many otherwise intelligent people accept them as accurate, despite the fact that they are easily refuted by a little research or the simplest visit to snopes.com.

And here’s the part that hurts the most. People accept these lies because they fit into their preconceived biases and beliefs. I graduated as a psychology major forty years ago, but I still remember the Theory of Cognitive Dissonance. People want “facts” to conform to and rationalize their beliefs, and will go to great strides to ignore those that do not, even at the expense of believing lies. This theory worked like a charm for Adolf Hitler, and today works equally well for Fox News.

People may be smarter than cats, but I have cats who act smarter than some people. At least they are perceptive enough to see what’s right in front of them, and you can’t tell them kibble is steak.
