Scott’s anaconda is a military strategy developed by the North during the American Civil War. It was instrumental in the defeat of the South. It calls for laying a cordon around the enemy to annihilate it by constriction. The Allied forces applied it in the European theater in World War II and brought about the unconditional surrender of Hitler’s Germany.
