The discovery of new threat on U.S.

Almost twenty-five mails containing white powders (Possibly Anthrax) has been received in different schools around Washington. The mail is subjected as Al-Qaeda to FBI. It is for sure this is one way of response by terrorist from Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups that support Osama Bin Laden. The threat of nuclear bombs in United States of America and United Kingdom still exits. Security agencies don’t have more time to react as such threats will keep on coming in the days to come. Obama’s strategy to hunt Osama might prove to be a headache for American Security agencies. Security level in America might just be raised to the highest level after those 20 odds mails. A bio-chemical hazard is the last thing America wants at this stage. Celebration of the killings of master-mind behind the 9/11 attack in ground zero might just follow a series of mourning around America. This is for sure and Obama would have no one else himself to blame for it.

Well the deaths caused by Anthrax following the 9/11 terrorist attack is still being seen as a failure of American Security Agencies. Now when the master-mind behind the 9/11 attacks as well as the possible Anthrax breakout has been killed the threat is again raising high around America. All those 20 odd mails received in Washington have already been taken for examinations and the report is due to come soon. It is said that all those mail contained white powders which proves it as a possible Anthrax threat.

What was the level of threat on U.S. before Osama’s killing? Well almost null for at least some period of time but the sudden burst by American’s have risen the threat level to the peak height. Was it all popularity, that resulted in Barrack Obama to carry out the Osama operation in his hideout or was it a necessity. It’s hard to have a perfect answer for this question because all of us know that Osama was always on the hunt after the 9/11 attack and it’s definitely answerable but the only issue is the failure of bringing out the real picture during and after the operation. Well America could have easily stood upon its words when they said Osama had to be shot because he retaliated and the theories regarding the daughter and wife of Osama could have been sincerely dealt with. The burial of Osama which is another controversy surrounding the killings, would have been carried out publically or at least the videos or photos of the burial would have been made available to global media. All this is turning out Obama in a villain. Let’s see what are the capabilities of the thinking tank that Obama has got and what sort of solution they come out with to reshape the image of the most powerful person in the world Barrack Obama.

Living life of a Freelancer.

“Grass on the other side is always green” that’s what I am thinking now, for three years working and living life of a freelancer has been a tremendous learning experience for me. When I was working I was fascinated by the idea of freelancing, I also wanted to be a freelancer when I saw some of my friends working on their own terms and being their own boss. Certainly freelance jobs give you liberty of being your own boss and to work in your pajamas but there is some harsh and bitter reality attached to the life of freelancer. I was a complete extrovert person when I used to work for different companies but today I have been ripped off within my friend circle and I hardly get time to connect with them. I have become cozy and completely introvert working as a freelancer although I have access with people on the net I have learned to live in a virtual world and sometimes I think I am too far from reality.

When I entered this profession everything seemed to be fun with projects flowing freely with help from some of my Business developing friends. Later they told me techniques to contact and acquire different projects using internet as an intermediate media. Soon it became my obsession to win different projects and to work on them and while doing so I forgot that personal time is essential. In my early days I noticed that most of the clients would be not available on the weekends where as I was struggling to get weekend work load on Friday itself, I was getting known in the freelance market with quality work and dedication I have shown in my work but at the same time was loosing ties with my near and dear ones. Although there are some of the benefits of working as a freelancer there are also disadvantages of being a freelancer and I am the one who has experienced both these elements in equal manner.

Being a freelancer has thought me to be online for 24/7 which means not shutting down your workstation unless there is power outage and checking mails frequently for further updates. I have been working for almost 18-20 hours a day to earn a reputation and my bread and butter. Being a freelancer means you have to acquire your own projects and to tell the client why you are the best in minimal words and approaching every client with positive and motivating attitude which is one of the advantages of being freelancer I enjoy. But when you wakeup from your 4 hour sleep first thing you have to do before brushing your teeth is to check the mails and look for any new updates from your client. I have learned through my days of profession to create more than one profile and work on all the profiles at the same time satisfying each and every client. Sometimes I have been chatting with more than one client and was working on the project as well coordinating with my team at the same time.

While doing all these tasks I also have to plan my budget when days would come that I was seating ideally on the internet without work in my hand and was waiting some of my clients to come online or bidding on new projects hoping to outbid others and get something to work on. One advantage I have achieved by being a freelancer is I have constrained my needs which are optimum and easily available. I don’t have to commute to my work place or I don’t have to visit my client to ask him about my pay. Again disadvantage which I have faced in this regard is I don’t get the leisure of any insurance premiums paid by the company as myself I have to look after my bills and premiums. I have learnt to live in tight budget as well I have learnt to save and invest a great deal.

Of all the things I do miss being a freelancer is friends, first my cell phone was a media to keep in touch with them but with increasing interference of my cell in my work I had to stop using cell and as I was available for chat on Internet whole day and night it was of no use to me. I stopped using cell phone and I lost touch with my friends again, really I miss that fun a lot. Today I have reputation, reviews, good and handsomely paying clients but I miss my social life like hell. I get nervous when I have to meet someone; although previously making first impression was my strong point today I am less confident about the same. Now I can’t move back from my busy life as I am totally dedicated and addicted to my freelance life.

After the globalization and recent wave of economic recession many educated persons have lost their jobs and are willing to take up freelancing, it’s better to say that have taken freelance jobs as their career options. Guys I don’t have much to say, but all I can say is work is necessary but equally your social life is also important, social networking sites will teach you to live in virtual reality but real world is vast and limitless to explore. You can cross the virtual boundaries of any country on Internet but in real life it becomes hard to cross the boundary of your own city, so plan your work in such a manner so you will have ample time for work and also for your family and friends.

A fun way to memorize new words.

When you plan to give your GRE or SAT, one task that seems impossible is mastering the Verbal section. If you need that perfect score you need to know almost over 3500 words. But there is a simple and fun way to memorize the words. Follow the pointers given below:

register for “word of the day” at dictionary.com

Once you register dictionary.com will mail you one word per day along with its pronounciation, meaning, root and three sentences to understand it better.

Find fellow GRE takers or any friend who is eager to learn new words.

Get at least two friends interested to try this. More the merrier. Ask them to register at “word for the day” dictionary.com

Now you are ready.

Each day you will recieve one word. Study it carefully. Now use this word in a sentence and mail it to your friends. Ask them to do the same. For every word you get each day, you have the sample sentences given by dictionary.com, your sentence and the sentences mailed by your friends.

More the sentences you read with the word in it better the word gets instilled in memory.

Now do this every day. At the end of the week (say sunday) you have 6 words used in several sentences. Hopefully you have studied these words well. Now the challenge- try and use all of these 6 words in a short paragraph or a one-page write up. Its difficult to come up with relevant connections with these words but its possible. Be sure to make the write up as imaginative and visual as you can. Avoid just connecting two sentences for the heck of it. The more visual the write up the longer it will stay with you.

Ask your friends to do the same. You should read their write up along with yours. All the creative ways that everyone connects these words in a paragraph can help you picturize the meaning of the words better. Now, these six words are more than instilled in you. Whenever you encounter any of the 6 words, chances are you will remember the paragraph you wrote which will help you remeber the exact meaning of the word correctly. You will be able to recall all of them at 3 am in the morning if asked to.

Here is an example with just two words.

Monday: lacuna- a gap or missing part in a theroy or argument, rift

sentence: The new research provided data that allowed to reduce the lacuna in the theory of Proximity.

Tuesday: melancholy- depression, gloomy, sober thoughtfulness

sentence: Moving back from England, she often spent her evenings on the deck in melancholy silence.

Write up:

He sat down on the wooden floor perplexed as he read through the hand-written pages. He wished he knew her better when he had the chance. His daughter was dead and he didn’t know anything about her. His adamancy had pushed her away creating a lacuna that he couldn’t overcome. He flipped through the pages to see photos stuck to a glitter covered page. One photo caught his eye. It was a picture of his daughter and her mother at Central Park. They both were laughing brilliantly on that autumn evening. A tear rolled down his cheek as he shut the journal and looked out the attic window melancholy and lost. How could this have happened? Where had he gone wrong.

Now you’ve the general idea.

Keep doing this for a period of time after which you can upgrade to 2 words each day to maybe later 3 words each day. Make sure when you use these words in a write up do not cramp them up together. Don’t push yourself to write a paragraph with more than 12 words at a time. If necessary move up the interval. So that if you are learning 3 new words each day then every fourth day will be the write up day.

If you have talented writer friends then there is the added inclination to have the best write up. Basically the more you put yourself into this the better you will own the words.
