The Philippines is an island country in Southeast Asia. It occupies an archipelago that consists of more than 9,000 islands with the South China Sea to the west and the Philippine Sea to the east. Its southernmost islands lie only about 50 miles (80 kilometers) from the part of the island of Borneo that makes up Malaysia. The main island is Luzon, where the capital city, Manila, lies. Other chief islands are Cebu, Leyte, Masbate, Mindanao, Panay and Samar. Cebu is a popular tourist resort known for its beautiful beaches.

 Most Filipinos live in rural areas throughout the country and work as farmers. The Philippines is the only country in Asia with a predominantly Christian population.  Roughly 95 percent of all Filipinos are Christians while Muslims, most of who live in the southern islands, make up about 3 percent of the population. Although Tagalog is the official language almost all Filipinos can speak English.

 The Philippines is one of Asia’s most impoverished countries. Economic growth and development has been slow, mostly due to decades of political and social unrest. It also has a poor transportation system. Up until the early-1980’s, the island of Luzon was the only island with paved roads.

 Spanish explorer Ferdinand Magellan was the first European to make contact with the Philippines, arriving in 1521. The islands became a colony of Spain in 1565. Spain turned possession of the Philippines over to the United States at the end of the Spanish-American in 1898. During World War II Japan seized control of the country and the Filipinos suffered heavily under brutal Japanese rule. The U.S. regained possession toward the end of the war and in 1946 granted the Philippines independence.

 The country struggled to become a western-style democracy but often found itself under the rule of dictators who more concerned about personal wealth. President Ferdinand Marcos and his wife, Imelda, lived in extravagant wealth, most of which was robbed from the country, while most of the population lived in poverty. Marcos was ousted in 1986 in a “people power” revolt. For the last few years the government has also had to contend with rebel Muslim separatists who have been waging a war of terrorism.

Caretakers from a childcare centre in Johor, Malaysia recently posted a video showing several children aged 9 months and below, bound tightly with cloth and gagged with cellophane tape.

That being said, I do feel that the less than high standards imposed on childcare workers is to blame. In the UK, early years practitioners would have to pass a Criminal Record Bureau check. In other words, have a clean criminal record. They also would not be allowed handphones while at work, hence no YouTube videos.

But then again, it wouldn’t be very practical to impose standards on mostly unlicensed centres anyway…

Around the world people love and want a lasting peace on this earth they live. However, this goal will not be fully achieved, as long as there are parties and arrogant that they are of all things on earth. They are willing to do anything to demonstrate the power, including launch attacks against others even without a valid reason. No less a conflict for various reasons such as independence, grab the natural resources and the racism that eventually led to war.

What is obvious, no one will profit from war. As the saying goes’ less so ashes, dust to be won. The impact destroyed the country, economic paralysis, delayed development and more people suffer the worst, killed and wounded. History has proven adverse effect of the war. The war continues today, although its effects have been seen and felt, never convince those involved.

In this case, the world community to unite against the tendency to initiate or wage a war if you wish for peace. In other words we must have ‘hate war, love peace. “This too, has become an important essence of the World Peace Forum in Kuala Lumpur, which ended yesterday.

Through the forum – Malaysia’s efforts to make war a crime ‘- will be the guide and direction of the peace movement all over the world to create a world without war. Forum to be able to achieve the goal of creating a new wave of hope towards realizing the international community’s efforts to create a peaceful world free from war.

No doubt the path to success is still far in that direction. However, the 14 actions contained in the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on the forum was a good start, at least to open the way to the people of the broader fight for peace walks. Forum could be a platform for anyone, especially non-governmental organizations who are interested in championing peace.

Another point is contained in the declaration to ban any use of force unless the consent of two thirds of the General Assembly of member states of the United Nations (UNGA, UN). Compliance with the UN Charter should be the responsibility of good faith, is not an option. For Malaysia, the UN was the mainstay of our existence as a guarantor purity as a sovereign nation to protect and safeguard the provisions of international law. Small country such as Malaysia does not have military or other capabilities to seek refuge from invasion or occupation of the major powers, but no sovereign nation should be exposed to the threat of military actions of other countries.

Various efforts have been made by many parties to achieve peace. Parana Global Peace Forum in Kuala Lumpur became the permanent secretariat is another place in that direction. We hope this forum will be the field most vocal in voicing objections and concerns of the world to battle for a lasting world peace.

Here I would like to give some opinions that have brought the leaders in this country which is Malaysia that can have their own follower and not to forget criticizers.

First and foremost, Tun Dr. Mahathir, fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia which have made a lot of changes in determining the target of this nation to be developed country in the year 2020 by producing Vision 2020. He has put the mindset in the people in Malaysia to think on improving their lifestyle and be part of the people who contributing to the nation. His idea cultivate people mind to do changes to guarantee their future. As have been quote from previous President of United States:

Next most influence leader is Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, a politician and Menteri Besar of Kelantan States, Malaysia. He is a great leader which always be with his people. As we always said, low profile character or down to earth. He try to fulfill the people need without neglecting the human development about spiritual and lifestyle. Taking care about the akhlaq of the people in his states is the priority in developing a great ummah. He appreciates his people and live like his people live.

From my opinion, both of them have great qualities to be explore and practice by us. Every people will do mistake and these leaders as well but we can take their good qualities in order to be a great future leader which will lead the next generation in developing think nation and world toward a better place to live. Be a leader which walk the talk is hard when they cannot convince the people on their credibility. In order to lead the nation,building good characteristics will lead to the great nation.

Malaysia

Malaysia has many job openings these days however always check with the POEA regarding recent job offers.  Nurses, machinists, engineers, coal miners, domestic helpers, and many more jobs are open. Just make sure, you qualify for the job you are applying though.

Taiwan

Taiwan is well known for factory workers, caretakers, and domestic helpers. These job openings are also available through legitimate recruitment agencies.

Brunei

This country is small but economically stable. For the moment, the country is hiring cashier, service crew, civil engineers, carpenters, cook, family driver, and others. Again check with the POEA.

These are the best countries for Filipino overseas workers (OFW) to work because they are near the Philippines and the people resemble Filipinos so that homesickness is not too great to bear.  

This is proven after police investigation found that some of the involved women can get $9856.10 dollar in a month by working for 20 days even though they admitted that they are AIDS/HIV carrier. More frightening these women are actually is categorized as C grade which means they have long practice this service before moving to Malaysia while women under A and B grades usually offer their service in their own country or develop countries that have higher purchasing power.

This scary phenomena was exposed by the Chief Assistant Director of the Triad, Gambling and Vice (D7) Bukit Aman, Datuk Abdul Jalil Hassan based on the police raid operations previously. They admitted coming to Malaysia for the purpose of looking for money as much as they can until their time comes even though they knew they had AIDS and HIV he said.

Based on this investigation he added, most of these women had managed their own entrance to this country with not more than $164.30 dollar cost and they managed to bring $11,893.03 dollar back to their country after 20 days. Usually women especially from China are given A, B and C grades but in Malaysia most of these women are in C category while A and B filled their country and other develop countries.

The C grade brings the most problem concerning their level of health especially those who are not medically tested. We (the authority) are not denying some of them really come to Malaysia to enjoy the beauty of this country but at the same time we must be couscous and monitor their movement by observing their activities and where they are. We might need to introduce a guaranteeing system that is those who want to visit this country need to have at least one guarantor to make sure this group are not violating the country’s law and if they do the guarantor shall be liable for legal action, he added.
