Advice is often not as benevolent as it seems.

Advice is, when given without permission, an attempt to control the world around oneself. If one walks up to another and gives advice without being asked for it, it can be for no other reason than to attempt to control that other person. One who takes such advice is only allowing theirself to be controlled by another.

If I see that you are having trouble in your romantic relationship, and approach you without invitation and tell you that you would be better off single, I am acting as the manipulator. In such a case, I must have some reason why I want you to be single, whether that be a specific reason or me just wanting to affirm some kind of worldview. Otherwise, I would not seek to give you advice in the first place.

However, when one asks for advice, it is different. In this case, someone sees a weakness in themself and seeks the experience of another to assist in their decision. It is the taking of confidence in another who is known to be more knowledgable on a subject. This is a much more respectable act than that of giving unwanted advice. Where one is manipulative and parasitic, the other is simply a means to an end, and cannot be judged so harshly.

Now, an alternative to the first example: Suppose you are having trouble in your romantic relationship, and want to do something to fix it. But, say you lack experience in this area. If you know for a fact that I do not lack this experience, you might come to me for advice. In this case I am not acting as the manipulator, but simply as a friend. Unless I am truly malicious and seek to mislead you, but that is beside the point.

Not a game you sit down and play with other people.

I like to play a game. I like to call this game “The Manipulation Game”. You play by manipulating other people. Manipulation is a valuable life skill and this game will help build that skill. This game takes confidence, an ability to lie, questionable ethics, and an ability to hide stuff from others.

You start by finding minor things that you want to change. Your a kid and want an extra cookie? I’m sure you can get it. All you have to do is create an argument for it (A long argument should work, but try to think it out). By creating logical arguments and small lies you can get anything. There is more and the previous statement should not be taken literally.

The above part is fairly easy. This is the complicated and fun part. You must fool people into thinking you aren’t manipulating them. People must “read” you like a book. To create an effective cover you must live this cover. You must keep your manipulating colors hidden. People think I couldn’t tell a lie if my life depended on it. This is partially true, in card games I can’t bluff at all, and I actually do hate lying. In reality I can lie incredibly well, I’m not proud of it, but I can tell anyone anything, especially over the Internet.

But of course the point of every game is to have fun, and in this game “fun” happens to be a massive rush. To truly have fun with this you have to drop hints that you are playing. Take risks, I told people some stuff to be honest. Now people think I am an honest person. If that went wrong people would wonder what else I had hiding.

Of course I don’t actually use this as my way to manipulate people. In my life I just manipulate. This kind of stuff becomes natural and you do it unconsciously. If I told you how I manipulated people I would have no more fun. Work on your skills at manipulating and maybe I will be caught on your hook one day.

DISCLAIMER: I wrote this for entertainment purposes and to just write something because my views were going down. This is completely fictional and I do not advocate manipulating anyone or breaking the law in anyway. I am not responsible for any trouble you get yourself into. I am not responsible for any harm you may have caused to yourself or those around you by following this guide.

P.S. You lost the game.

There is a saying, "Those Who Forget History Are Doomed to Repeat It".

If the saying “Those Who Forget History Are Doomed to Repeat It” is true, why do people still attempt to rewrite our history.

From what I have read, in many cases when there is a conflict, the victor usually retell the story in their favor. Basically rewriting the history.

At one time history was a very important subject in our schools. However, when it was revealed that the most revered heroes in our history are of a different race, there was a lot of disbelieve and argument the stories are not true. However, when it could no longer be argued, suddenly all references and stories of the once revered heroes were erased. Apparently, the injury to the ego was just too much.

In the latest attempt to rewrite our history, these very same people now argued that our country was never colonized and it was just a matter of semantics.

All these appears to be politically driven.

So who is telling the truth or who is not, I can’t tell. I am not a historian but based on what I have seen, it appears to be an obvious attempt to rewrite our history. For those who studied history, we see both sides of the story. However, for the new generation, will they still know which is true.

The fact that you know a different history, does that mean you are doomed to repeat mistakes made in the past?

False sentiments, Bad Poetry: what is in a word?

No amount of pretentious poetry or flowery speech can ever make a person complete. There is a point where such written sentiments become no more than snappy catch phrases, buzzwords, and talking points which hold as much meaning as “Drill, Baby, Drill”. Aside from sexual innuendo and crude metaphor, the writer/speaker has no intention of “drilling”, or committing to any other act save that of shouting words which represent actions that the user has no will to actualize.

The receiver of the poetry/speech/words will let their own imaginings set the acceptable parameters for the words recieved, ergo, attaching their own meanings (complete with edits and substitutions) as filtered through their own conceptual perspective and open to subjective interpretation contingent on the flawed memory of past experience.

In the process, the initial meaning (regardless of simplicity) may be completely lost on the reader, while inversely serving the agenda of the wordsmith who wrote/spoke/served the poem/phrase/lyric/essay/thesis , therefore satisfying a need by providing a foundation for an actionable response from the receiver of said words.

While words like “life”, “death”, and “pregnant” convey concepts which are absolute, they are only solid in that artificial constructs of human logic, contingent on human knowledge, and subject to change as conflicting data is discovered and introduced to expand the parameters of the conceptual matrix.

Words like “love”, “hate”, “wealth”, “health”, and “beauty” are ambiguously fluid, and open to interpretation, even within a closed logical conceptual construct, as they define relative states of being, ruling out the conceptual crutch of “absolutes”.

So, how much can you really say, in a word?

Is it all about the words you use, or more about your ability to empathize and emote?

At what point does the logic and language of love break down into a melange of boorish writing and bad acting?

Behind every word; behind every action, there is the horror of the unknown: the primal fear associated with change and rebirth, but there is another horror that comes with being aware of the impermanence and trivialty of it all…and that is the REAL horror.

What happened to the oil market? Must be those “manipulators” again!

On April 21, 2011, President Barack Obama announced a task force to investigate “manipulation” of the oil market.

Well, Mr. President, and with apologies to comic strip character Pogo: You have met the manipulator and he is you!

Today’s release of 30 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is a blatant manipulation of the oil market. And it worked. Oil prices plunged. Speculators on the wrong side of this market manipulation lost a fortune — because they didn’t have the inside information that you were going to dump supply into the already-declining market.

Clearly the oil release was meant to stimulate the economy — something that all the money creation by the Fed and all the programs enacted by your Congress have been unable to do so far.

The markets figured out who would win and who would lose. Stocks of retailers rose more than 3 percent on average, amid hopes that the “extra” money in consumers pockets from lower gas prices will send people on a spending spree. Meanwhile, shares of oil companies and associated drilling and service companies plunged — helping to discourage more drilling.

After all, oil prices have been on the decline. The national average price of regular gasoline this week is $3.65 — lower than the $3.83 per gallon when you announced your task force.

Does today’s move have something to do with the latest political polls? Or, is it OK for the government to manipulate markets, but not the real users of the commodity and those who provide liquidity in global markets? Remember, the American economy is based on free and fair markets. And that’s the Savage Truth.

Relationships between people, as my experience has shown us, can be very complex. This rarely happens because two people want the same thing at the same time.Hence conflicts arise and attempt to induce the other to do what you you want. Often this conflict is hidden or permanently unconscious people involved.

But this is not beneficial. The best approach is rational in that you agree to make compromises and try to find creative solutions that have all won. Usually, though, things do not happen that way. We want those around us to see the world in how we see. Therefore we try to manipulate, control people around us. Shostrom described these types of handling:

1.	By authority . Try to control others by giving them commands by virtue of its authority, a position he has in relationship to social status. Such a person believes he knows what is right and what to do.

2.	The weakness . Such a person is against authority control and using its weakness. Sometimes “Lost,” “I do not understand”, “Can not do that”, “The pressure is too high” are very effective ways to dodge you control others. This is passive aggression.

3.	The intellect . Such a person sees the world as a smart contest. Constantly pushing it, trying to convince, to seduce him and trick others.

4.	By submission . Such a person wants others to care for it to be addictive, and loyal subject. Behaving like a nice kid, full of gratitude and helpless, I cause others to do a lot for it.

5.	By force .Others are intimidated and made to act as desired by threats, anger, brutality. These are typical ways to manipulate both men and women. What can you do if you feel manipulated? First you must realize this problem and try not to be so dependent on each other. Try to figure out how to make your way alone, things are really important to you. Try to regain confidence in their abilities.

What should you do if you are the person handlingmost common ways to try to influence others are: - to explain rationally the need for change; - in brutally ask someone to change, always remember and ask them to do so as soon as possible - ask others to support the proposals that we have; - get over someone’s head to get support from a person with greater authority; - negotiate so to get at least some of what we want. What methods you use the type of personality. ”Dictators” are brutal, aggressive, they will not accept them say no (if necessary will resort to threats).

Rational will be based on facts, arguments, will plan carefully and make compromises. Those who want to board will be active in trying to influence others, but try to be diplomatic, and personal charm to win because of the flattery. The last category is that of people withdrawn try not engage in any controversy.

Evaluation of the work you very much our social capabilities, how we collaborate with others. Usually people aggressive, brutal are the worst seen, even if we accept that business is competitive. Best rational people are seen (if you’re male) and nice people or withdrawn (if you’re female). Important not only get what you want, but how you manage it.

Try, whether you’re male or female, to make rational use of the techniques to try to force your will. By using negotiation, persuasion, you can rely on receiving approval from others and not always you have to resume work to try to force your point of view.

The technique of creating a fictitious common enemy. This is a technique that has been done time and time again in history.

Historical Usage

During World War II, Hitler united Germany by making the Jews the boogie man. He convinced majority of Germany that the Jews were the source of all their problems.

During the Cold War, communism was the Boogie Man. This was effective until the fall of the Berlin Wall. I am sure Capitalism was also used as the Boogie man for those behind the Iron curtain.

In Movies

We can also see how this was done in many movies such as Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story, Wag the Dog, and Total Recall.

Cover of Wag the Dog

Current

Many politicians are still using this as a method of maintaining power. For those who are not informed, it still works.

However, for those who are aware that they are veing manipulated by the leaders they previously voted into power, it gets very frustrating. It gets worst when the majrority still believes in teh boogieman and the manipulator continue to retain his power because of it.

Solution

The best method of defeating theese liars and manipulators is by providing the information to the majority. Knowledge and truth is the best defence agains these lies and the boogieman.

As a woman you’re fascinated by the forbidden relationship, the alien threat emanating exciting and yet seems vulnerable and wounded by life . Want to be the only woman who, by virtue of unconditional love, will make it a perfect lover.Attention!

Manipulation is an infectious disease, much more dangerous than the flu, it can last a lifetime. If you live with a manipulative man, you should not worry about the cause of his inventive tactics intended to control your behavior.

Once you recognize the manipulation for what it is, it loses all power to influence you. The real danger is a disease you catch your partner and use manipulation as an inoculation against him insincere and unfair tactics.

Healthy Alternatives to detect manipulation

1. In your relationships, think you’re capable of (and responsible for) solving any problems
Alternative: You can solve your part of the problem and you can encourage him. Then let him decide how to invest in the relationship.

2. I take responsibility for things over which you have power (a situation impossible)
Alternative: Ask yourself, before he mounted the steed and come to his aid: “We have the power to change the situation? If I have, it is my responsibility? If any answer is ‘no’, and let the person who has the power and the responsibility to solve the problem.

As the days fade into new ones no one notices because each seems as bleak and cloudy as the one gone by. Fears are seen while tears are shed in nervous anticipation of what may come when all is said and done.

This seems to be the individual American citizen’s new life for the past six months in America. While the American Government has made the American people nearly completely dependant upon it the American Government continually take liberties in doing what it pleases and not what the American people want.

The young, elderly and the sick are all dependant on a nonfunctional government whose only interest it seems is to create more suffering, chaos and anger. This was not what the American forefathers envisioned for their descendants.

The American forefathers envisioned an America of prosperity; an America of industry; an America of intelligence; an America of hard working individuals and rapid thinkers able to carry on the visions they had.

Instead American citizens have been reduced to a mass of non thinking followers that’ll do anything they are told to do even though they know it is wrong; mass of ill-mannered, ill-tempered, drug addictive, alcohol abusive, self-centered, liars, cheater, thieves and coercionists.

The American Citizens have been led astray for so long they don’t even realize it anymore as the American continues to force its power onto the American people and the people are allowing it to happen.

Those that stand to loose the most are the young, elderly and the chronically ill and the American Government knows this and USES this to their advantage. That’s right the American Government USES the young, elderly and the chronically ill to get what they want.

What the average American Citizen doesn’t understand is that doing it the government’s way will only make matters worse. The government wants to manipulate your very existence. How many people do you, as an average American citizen; that has been turned down for disability? People that really and truly need and deserve disability have to fight the system for years before ever receiving one penny; meanwhile they rack up medical bills beyond imagination. This new bill won’t stop that.

Adult children are too busy trying to pay their own bills and have a family, which I might add will soon be up to the government as to whom will or will not have children; to even help their ailing parents.

The American government wants to tell American citizens what to eat, what to drink, how to conduct business, which I might add is laughable since they can’t conduct a business in the green and haven’t for decades. Maybe many of the American people have thrown up their hands and say lead me to my death but I won’t go down as easily as that.

I have a brain and can think for myself. I have willpower to use and intend to use it as I choose. I have my own identity that proclaims me as an individual and I choose to keep it. Government officials proclaim we don’t own anything well buddy neither do they. What I do have is mine so long as I live and that is my life and my soul belongs to my God. That is something no one can take from me so long as I live; and while I live I intend to be heard, I intend to help others as best I can and I will continue to stand on the cornerstone of righteousness; what about you?

Do I mean what I say? I mean what I say in the context in which I say it not in the messed up distorted context others seem to perceive it. Do I lie? I try not to lie and I won’t make a promise I don’t know if I can keep. When I say I will try that is not to be mistaken for a promise. American people need to use common sense on their own and not be told what to think.

American can make intelligent decisions if the American government and their loud mouthed cronies would ever stop deceiving the American people; but then that is what most attorneys are paid to do right ex-attorney President Obama?

As a species, human beings have always practiced some form of species modification in one form or another.

Glowfish didn’t exist before genetic manipulation technology. (Wikipedia image)

Species modification began with plants around 10,000 BC, when the first farmers started an agricultural revolution in the Levant by harvesting wild grasses. Over millennia, these farmers, and those in other areas, began to selectively breed plants not only for caloric content – the amount of energy available in the parts of the plants which humans consume – but also for such things as taste; who wants to eat bitter seeds, after all? In this way, such plants as wheat, barley, rye and lentils became part of the human diet, while similar plants which didn’t give the right nutrition or taste remained wild.

This type of artificial selection was in play even earlier with animals, when the wild wolf ancestors of that which would become dogs were first domesticated around 15,000 years ago. Such animals as sheep (which were most probably descended from the wild mouflon of Europe and Asia), goats (which were domesticated from the wild goats of Europe and Asia) and cattle (which were domesticated from the aurochs of Europe, Asia and North Africa) were domesticated, again by selective breeding. As with plants, the animals that were domesticated were ones which provided for human needs, such as wool and leather for clothing and protection, and milk and meat for food.

For literally thousands of years, selective breeding was the only way to create a plant or an animal that was suited to human needs. Then, in 1953, the shape of the genes of all creatures on Earth was determined, and the ability to create a plant or animal to suit human needs exploded.

DNA and Genomes

James D. Watson and Francis Crick started genetic engineering going when, in 1953, using X-ray diffraction data collected by Rosalind Franklin, proposed the now-familiar double helix structure of deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, work for which, along with Maurice Wilkins, they were awarded the Nobel Prize in 1962.

DNA is essentially a long molecular chain, wound into a double helix, which is made up of hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen and phosphorous. Within its chemical links are contained sections, called genes, which hold the information for the development and functioning of all living organisms, be they a bacterium or a blue whale, the largest living animal today. The sum total of all the genes in use by an organism is called the genome, and the genome is stored in the chromosomes of a living organism. Humans have 46 chromosomes, for example, while the fruit fly has only eight, bread wheat has 42, and goldfish have anywhere from 100 to 104.

Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering

Given that the information needed to alter an organism can be found in particular genes, it seems simple in theory to just identify a particular gene – such as one which would make eyes colored brown, for example – and then change it so that it would create an organism with the desired effect – turning brown eyes to gray, for example. The problem is, there are literally thousands genes present in a single organism; humans, for example, have anywhere between 20,000 to 25,000 genes.

Still, this didn’t stop scientists as early as the 1970s from creating DNA which had genes which came from the organisms that these were eventually included in life forms such as the E. Coli bacterium imbued with increased antibiotic resistance, thanks to the inclusion of a gene that gave it that resistance. It was also in 1976 when the biotechnology industry officially started when the company Genetech was founded to conduct research into genes.

The Human Genome Project, on the other hand, was begun in 1988 and completed in 2003, mapping out 92% of the human genome, and with this information, comes a wealth of possibilities where diagnosing particular diseases and finding potential cures is concerned.

Genetically modified glowing tobacco plant. (Wikipedia image)

Concerns

Genetic engineering can be seen as an extension of selective breeding, but one which is far more targeted to creating a genetically modified organism (GMO) tailor-made to suit human needs. One organism that have been modified are the GloFish, which are zebrafish whose genes have been modified to include a gene from a jellyfish which makes them glow. GloFishes are sold as aquarium pets. Indeed, the technology to create genetically modified living organisms has been widely used to genetically modify agricultural plants so that these could be resistant to such things as herbicides and plant pests, which could increase crop yield and thus add to the available food supply.

The problem is that there has been no study detailing the long-term effects of such genetically modified organisms on humans or the environment. Brazil nuts, which were modified with soybean genes, for example, were found to produce allergic reactions in humans, and some GMO plants were linked to gastrointestinal problems. Also, once a GMO is released into the environment, there is no way to rein it in; GMO plant seeds will travel with the wind or with the water, for example, to land in places where they can grow and affect the environment around them, whether for good or for ill.

Whatever the effect, genetic engineering, a logical outgrowth of selective breeding, is here to stay, and it is up to us to use it wisely.
