When you assume something you make an ass out of u and me. Do not assume others are just like you.

We are not the same but if you look around you will find some people assume everyone is just like them.

Liars don’t trust anyone else. A liar always assumes everyone else lies. Some liars like to make a big scene about how honest they are and how much they hate dishonesty. I am sure everyone knows a liar, and has noticed that this person is often very distrusting of others.

Thieves are the same as liars. They steal and assume you are stealing from them. A thief, let us say a person who helps themselves to money in side co-workers purses, will make sure their purse is well hidden at all times. They will often accuse others of stealing, perhaps this is imagined, or perhaps they are trying to throw suspicion off themselves.

Gossips assume everyone is gossiping about them. Manipulative people assume everyone is also being manipulative. Greedy people assume all others are greedy. People who are climbing the ladder to success assume that everyone else can be just as competitive and cut throat as they.

The backstabber will assume that everyone else is doing the same. They will work twice as hard trying to save their “good name” by backstabbing everyone else!

The sad thing is that the honest, or humble, person often assumes everyone is on the same playing field as they are and these people often find themselves getting walked on again and again. The truly honest person is baffled by dishonesty. They often do not see through the lies of the liar, or understand the idea of people being backstabbing or manipulative. The honest person does not see how easy it is for the liar to lie. Nor do they see how convincing a good liar can be, sometimes the liars even convince themselves they are telling the truth.

The humble person is at a loss for dealing with greedy individuals and will never get the greedy person to understand the beauty of living with less.

If a person wants to see a good example of this sort of thing at work they should watch a reality television program such as Survivor, or Big Brother, were mental head games are played so easily. The liars and manipulators are often the least trusting, and the honest people are usually the “last to know”.

For better, or worse, it is good to not assume anything about anyone. Just wait to find out for yourself.

List of the most awkward and horrible personality traits that cost people friends, loved ones and even jobs.

Judger:

A judger is someone who is constantly picking at faults in others and can’t see beyond their own ignorant thoughts. Given that they are ignorant just adds to the harshness of this personality trait and no matter how many times you tell them they are rude, they don’t change their ways. It is one of the most ugly traits a person could have.

Nagger:

A nagger is someone who is always talking about one thing in particular and doesn’t drop it until you either accept what they have said or take notice and respond to it how they would like you to. Aside from being highly annoying, this personality trait is often brought on by love and care. If they see something wrong that needs fixing, they will nag until it is.

Aggressor:

An aggressor is someone who has a whole load of built up frustration and more often than not will take it out on those nearby at the time. Whether or not you are acquainted with this person does not matter at all to them. As it goes, if they are having a bad day they feel you should also share some of that burden. People like this sometimes don’t know how to react and instead, do so angrily.

Neophobe:

A neophobe is someone who absolutely cannot stand change and would do anything at all to avoid it. I actually have a few issues myself with change as I like being used to what I already know. Change can be either good or bad and sometimes it becomes too much for being to handle. As with myself, I am slowly adapting to the fact that change is necessary. More people should do the same.

Narcissist:

A narcissist is someone who spends all their time letting others know how wonderful they are and generally protecting their ego. They are completely selfish and couldn’t really care less about anyone or anything that is going on around them. Why would they care when they have themselves to worry about above everyone else? Above all the problems in the world?. A horrible trait to have.

Liar:

A liar is clearly someone who finds lies as an easy escape route or sometimes will lie out of pure amusement. A lie to these people will slip out so easily you will not know whether or not they are telling the truth. I have come across many liars in my life so far and am certain I will come across a few more. They make terrible friends and to marry a liar.. that would be one hell of a relationship.

Juvenile:

A juvenile person is someone who is incredibly immature for their age and it can become seriously irritating if you know someone with this trait. Although it is not always preventable due to underlying reasons with some, for others it is just a nast habit of acting a lot like a child. There is a huge difference between being childlike and being childish. Those who are childish need to sort themselves out.

Manipulator:

A manipulator is someone who just loves to take control of nearly every situation they find themselves in. Even if the situation does not involve them they like to take the lead and try to run the place. There are so many people in the world with this personality trait that it would take forever to list them. However, people who are part of and work for the government are very manipulative.

There are plenty of other horrid personality traits but the ones above are the ones that I have come across the most in my life. Do you feel that there are others in particular that are not included above? If so, please leave your opinion in a comment below!

Rollercoaster relationship.

Isn’t it weird how people fall in love with the wrong people? This typically happens to those who are honest with their hearts. This happens to people who have big hearts. This happens to people who have a lot of love to give. This happens to people who are looking for someone to love them with the same big heart.

Vulnerable and open to receive love and someone comes around and tells them exactly what they want to hear. They are told how beautiful, wonderful, great and how much they love you and they believe it. The honest person falls in love with them. Unfortunately, the not so nice person doesn’t really care – they are just pretending to love.

Your relationship becomes an emotional rollercoaster. They begin to hurt you and then tell you they didn’t mean it and will change. Things begin to change for a while and it seems like everything is just perfect and then without notice, the person hurts you all over again. How do they hurt you? They will cheat on you, hit you, talk down to you, neglect you, not call you for days, ignore you and disgrace you.

The love you have for this person, doesn’t let you let them go. Every time they return with an apology, you take them back hoping they will change. You are hoping everything they are saying is true. You know the truth but are in denial. They change for a while and then hurt you all over again.

They will continue to hurt you because they know they can and they also know they can come back any time they want to because you will forgive them and take them back. Time to get off the rollercoaster.

Some people will work hard to covertly control other people. Here’s how to tell when people are trying to manipulate you.

Some people in this world are kings and queens of the art of getting their own way. It’s amazing how some people are able to achieve their whims through the use of persuasion or deception. The true masters are the ones who steer other people and events when they lack power or responsibility. These greedy folks are also the agents of chaos in groups and organizations, pursuing selfish hidden agendas for their own gain.

It’s quite true that people can achieve great things by working together. Great constructions, organizations, and ideas are created by group effort. Some of these things are done for altruistic or practical reasons. Other achievements are purely the result of ego and greed. Learning to work with other people is a valuable skill. However, the manipulator, a person who attempts to motivate while hiding their true intentions, is best avoided whenever possible.

If you want to get through life without being conned by a manipulative person, then you’ll need to learn how to tell if you are being manipulated. Here are five methods to help you tell if you are being manipulated.

Manipulators Act Differently Toward You When They Want Something

Watch for sudden changes in the way that a requester (a potential manipulator, someone who wants you to help them for selfish purposes) behaves toward you:

They compliment you more often (assuming they ever did), particularly with regards to your valuable skills, knowledge and experience.

You suddenly become this person’s “buddy”, “pal” or “friend”. They might use your first or last names more often than normal. The requester smiles at you more often, but the smile never reaches their eyes.

They seem interested in what you are doing. However, these are often shallow expressions of interest followed by impatience and rapid shift of subject or attention. Manipulators are always looking for opportunities and can be distracted rather easily.

They seem eager to please you. You’ll get the occasional gift or freebie from a manipulator. Just remember that a manipulator is too smart or cheap to invest a lot of money in you at this point, so they probably didn’t pay for the gifts.

The requester makes public expressions of support and need for you. Can you say “flattery”?

This positive behavior ceases after you are no longer needed or useful. If they are looking for long term help from you, the good times may roll on for some time.

The key thing to remember is that you should be cautious if the requester’s behavior toward you has changed from negative or indifferent to positive and you don’t know them very well.

What are you being asked to do? Does it make good business sense?

When someone starts treating you differently, particularly when you are engaged in helping them, it’s a good idea to examine what you are doing for them:

Does this work request seem irrational or counter-intuitive?

Is it clearly to the requester’s advantage for you to provide help in the way that you are being asked?

Does this person give you evasive or defensive replies if you ask too many questions about their plans?

Do you get vague promises of rewards which are implied more than promised (e.g. “I’ll put in a good word for you.”).

Are you doing the hard, dirty, or unpleasant work that the requester is responsible to do?

Does the requester want you to do something that you might not normally do (or don’t want to do)?

Are you being asked to anything illegal, unethical, or contrary to company policy?

You should exercise caution and get more information if the answer if “yes” to two or more of these questions.

Is Anyone Else Helping The Manipulator?

Beware if it looks like you are being asked to do a solo job:

No one else seems willing to help the requester.

You’re told that other people will only help if you will.

There’s often a good reason why no one else is helping the requester. You might be the last resort after everyone else says no. Maybe they know something that you don’t.

Is There an Air of Importance or Secrecy?

Does this assignment feel like a covert operation?

Is the requester trying to play on your feelings of solidarity and loyalty?

Is the requester quick to scorn or punish if you start to deviate from the plan?

Does anyone else to understand what’s really going on with this project or request?

Secrecy is sometimes necessary in most organizations, particularly in developing new products and creating business deals. However, if you don’t understand why the request is being kept secret, and you can’t find out, be wary.

Why You?

It’s usually flattering to be asked for your help. However, you should also consider why you are being asked.

You are the obvious choice for this task because of your skills and experience: You probably get asked for a lot of help from a lot of people and your calendar may be full. Therefore, a manipulator works extra hard to get your services.

You are not the obvious choice for this task: be careful if you are being asked to do something particularly controversial, secret, or difficult. You might be used as a patsy or a scapegoat to protect the manipulator.

It’s a shame that there are people in the world who will take advantage of the good nature of other people, but this does happen frequently. It pays to do some homework before making a commitment, especially to someone that you do not know. Before you commit yourself to any major piece of work, you should take a few minutes and run through this checklist.

If you don’t like the answers that you are getting, put on the brakes and make sure that you fully understand what kind of person you are helping. A little due diligence at the beginning can save a great deal of pain and anguish later on.
