Two pounds six ounces and clinging on to life, needs help from an incubator to get her breathing right. I’m mad and frustrated because its not my fight, on my knees with tearful eyes praying every night. Here I am being a big strong man, seeing this helpless child with tiny feet and tiny hands. She grabs my fingertip with a tight grip, and from that moment all my sorrows started to lift. Doctors are probing and specialists running tests, not truly understanding but I’m hoping for the best. How could something so innocent deserve this, an unexplained feeling how can I word this. All of a sudden things turned into a disarray, machines start beeping and the doctors pushed me out the way. She’s a fighter and strong so we predict a breakthrough, but her left lung collapsed and she didn’t make it through. The pain seemed too much to endure,complications from being born premature,not a disease but we pray for a cure,I know she’s in heaven because her heart is so pure.

Miscarriage: Nature’s Way

Miscarriage is nature’s way of correcting a problem with the fetus. Regardless of when the loss occurs the heartbreak remains. I lost my third child twenty nine years ago and it still occasionally brings a tear to my eye. In my case something happen in the second month and the fetus stop growing, but it wasn’t until the forth month that I lost it. The doctor said in some cases a woman will miscarry right away but in other cases the body is strong and tries to hold on and somehow doesn’t get the message. In this case it is even worse because you know something is wrong and the outcome will be inevitable. In the early months a woman doesn’t gain very much weight so people just assume your still pregnant, even after you lost the fetus. This is really upsetting to a woman who just miscarried. There are many opinions of when life begins. I am one that believes life begins at conception and the fetus was always a baby to me. Even if it is a miscarriage a woman goes through a grieving process and this is normal. The most frustrating part of a miscarriage is the loss of control. No matter what you do, it is out of your control. Since I believe life begins at conception, I also believe every life has a soul and goes to heaven. That is why you grieve for the life lost that could of been. If you know someone who has had a miscarriage, be sensitive to her, this is a real loss. The body has a way to correct defects and tends to expel the less than perfect fetus. Of course this is not true in every case. Sometimes the mom has a problem that causes this to happen. There are also many babies born with defects all the time. Sometimes they can be corrected, sometimes they can’t. It is a big mystery why some women miscarry and others do not even if there is a defect. Support your local March of Dimes and help our unborn babies!
