Specifically, if a person effectively has no choice, then just how does one justify giving them credit for the action?

Therefore, the media trends can only change as quickly as the consumers become willing, leaving the people in charge of the future trends. The free thinking media is using bias means to get someone elected. Two sides to every story? So far we have only heard one of them.

Why does the media refuse to report the good news from Iraq? It could be that they have an agenda of their own: To turn public opinion against the war and cause the United States to lose the battle in that fledgling democracy.
