Views changing on Hitler's work.

BERLIN — The city that was the center of Adolf Hitler’s empire is littered with reminders of the Nazi past, from the bullet holes that pit the fronts of many buildings to the hulking Luftwaffe headquarters that now houses the Finance Ministry.

What it doesn’t have, nor has it since 1945, are copies of Hitler’s autobiography and political manifesto, “Mein Kampf,” in its bookstores. The latest attempt to publish excerpts fizzled last week after the Bavarian government challenged it in court, although an expurgated copy appeared at newspaper kiosks around the country.

But in Germany — where keeping a tight lid on Hitler’s writings has become a rich tradition in itself — attitudes toward his book are slowly changing, and fewer people are objecting to its becoming more widely available.

No law bans “Mein Kampf” in Germany, but the government of Bavaria, where Hitler officially resided at the time of his 1945 suicide, holds the copyright and guards it ferociously. German-language copies that were printed before 1945 are legal, although they command a premium price, and the book is available in translation elsewhere in the world.

But the question of whether to publish it in the country where Hitler plotted his empire has lost some of its edge in the Google era, when a complete German-language copy of the book pops up as the second result on the local version of the search engine.

“To say this is a very dangerous book, we must ban it — this is ridiculous,” said Wolfgang Wippermann, a professor of modern history at the Free University of Berlin. “Maybe it was necessary once, but now it’s over, it makes no sense. You can find it so easily.”

The publisher of the excerpts, London-based Albertus, has said it will appeal the Bavarian government’s injunction. In 2009, the publisher beat charges of copyright violation and the illegal use of Nazi symbols after the Bavarian government seized reprinted copies of the Nazi Party’s in-house newspaper.

The attempt to publish portions of “Mein Kampf” on Thursday was scuttled at the last moment, although the publisher, ready to capitalize on the publicity, had printed two versions of the pamphlet. The version propped on top of a heap of celebrity magazines at a newsstand in Berlin’s central Friedrichstrasse station was a slender, blue, 16-page leaflet that has historical commentary in one column and an image of blurred text stamped with “Unreadable” in the other, accompanied by two reproductions of Nazi-era newspapers.

“Mein Kampf” “is an awful book, and the whole thinking is absolutely not ours, but we have another view on it regarding the idea of packing it away. This idea is just naive,” said Alexander Luckow, a spokesman for the publisher. “In a free country, you need to discuss these very bad parts of German history.”

Still, he said, there are limits, and using Hitler’s words as inspiration is where it crosses the line.

The debate will soon be over, whether or not the latest excerpts make it to newsstands. German law extends copyright 70 years after the author’s death; after 2015, “Mein Kampf” will be fair game.

German.

Adolf Hitler (20 April 1889 – 30 April 1945) was an Austrian-born German politician and the leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party(German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP, commonly known as the Nazi Party). He was Chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945, and head of state (as Führer und Reichskanzler) from 1934 to 1945. Hitler is most well known for his central leadership role in the rise of fascism in Europe, World War II and the Holocaust.

A decorated veteran of World War I, Hitler joined the precursor of the Nazi Party (DAP) in 1919, and became leader of NSDAP in 1921. He attempted a coup d’état, known as the Beer Hall Putsch, at the Bürgerbräukeller beer hall in Munich in 1923. The failed coup resulted in Hitler’s imprisonment, during which time he wrote his memoir, Mein Kampf (in English “My Struggle”). After his release in 1924, he gained support by promoting Pan-Germanism, antisemitism andanti-communism with charismatic oratory and propaganda. He was appointed chancellor in 1933, and transformed the Weimar Republic into the Third Reich, a single-party dictatorship based on the totalitarian and autocratic ideology of Nazism.

Hitler’s avowed aim was to establish a New Order of absolute Nazi German hegemony in continental Europe. His foreign and domestic policies had the goal of seizing Lebensraum (”living space”) for the Aryan people. This included the rearmament of Germany, resulting in the invasion of Poland by the Wehrmacht in September 1939, leading to the outbreak of World War II in Europe.

Under Hitler’s leadership, German forces and their European allies at one point occupied most of Europe and North Africa, reversed in 1944 when the Allied armies freed German-occupied Europe. Hitler’s reign resulted in the systematic murder of as many as 17 million civilians, including an estimated six million Jews targeted in the Holocaust and between 500,000 and 1,500,000 Roma.

In the final days of the war, during the Battle of Berlin in 1945, Hitler married his long-time mistress, Eva Braun. To avoid capture by the Red Army, the two committed suicide less than two days later on 30 April 1945 and their corpses were burnedAdo

I hope everybody knows their history especially when dealing about World War II and the rise of the Nazis who persecuted about six million Jews, ordered by their famous leader Adolf Hitler.

Many Jewish people especially those survivors cannot forget the merciless killing of the Nazis to their fellows. Many would also burst out every anger and hatred to Hitler when asked about their comments to his achievements and works. As to consider ourselves in their position, we would also feel the way they expressed their feelings. However, there is more information that you must know about Adolf Hitler which would make you realize that he’s just a man with simple dream.

Here is the list of 16 interesting facts you should know about him:

Adolf’s real family name was “Heidler”; the derivation of the name “Hitler” was mistakenly misspelled by a priest who made the entry to his father.

Out of the eight siblings in Hitler’s family, only four lived to adulthood- Adolf, his sister Paula, his half-brother Alois and half-sister Angela.

Adolf has an excellent academic performance in primary school but he became poor student in secondary school.

Adolf never dreamed to become a great political leader or a civil servant. His father wanted him to have such a career.

Adolf has a talent in drawing and painting. He sold many of his works during his teenage years when both of his parents died.

Adolf dreamed to become a good and famous artist. However, he failed the entrance examination of the Academy of Fine Arts twice.

Hitler concerned himself to political observations when he was 21 years old.

Hitler failed the physical examination to enter the Austrian Army.

He served as a messenger during World War I

Hitler was affected by mustard gas and temporarily became blind while serving the army of the war.

Before renaming to Nazi Party, Hitler named this organization first as Socialist German Worker’s Party.

Hitler was once imprisoned because of proclaiming Nazi revolution to seize the German Bavarian government.

Despite that many perceive Hitler as an Antichrist, many historians and scholars agree that he has a strong belief to God but his works were measured contrary to Christian doctrines, ethics and moralities. He stated in his books Mein Kampf (My Struggle)- “ by defending myself against the Jews, I am doing the Lord’s work”

In one of the national elections against the Young Plan, Hitler toned down his violent speeches against the Jews to attract votes.

Hitler did not only order his troops to murder the Jewish people, he also ordered them to persecute other minority groups including the gypsies, poles, slavs, Jehovah’s Witnesses, protestant priests and ministers.

Eva Braun and Hitler married on April 29, 1945 and killed themselves the next day. 7 days later, Germany surrendered and war in Europe was ended.

IN CONCLUSION:

Did you notice? Hitler wanted to become an art expert and never dreamed to become a political leader. He also cheated the Jewish people only to attract and gain their votes because of his sweet convincing speech. What if he passed the Entrance examination of the Academy of Fine Arts and totally pursued his dream? What if the Jewish society in Germany discovered his own hatred to them and his tactics to earn votes? Then I bet history of the world and World War II will be changed. Many Jews will be saved from mass murders.

A summary of Hitler's rise and fall in Nazi Germany.

Adolf Hitler was born April 20th, 1889. During the time he was alive, he had many memorable things that went down in history and became the ultimate dictator of Germany. It may be confusing, after all he did, to wonder how people let him get so far, but the answer lies in who he was. During his younger days, he wanted to be an artist. His father told him no, not as he lived. Both his father and mother died before Hitler turned 21. While he was in school he was defiant and didn’t do his work, so he didn’t have much education behind him. He lived in Vienna from the ages of about 20 to 25 and during his time in the city, he applied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, in pursuit of a career as a painter, but to his despair, they turned him down. This was a terrible blow to his dreams and stuck in Vienna, he became a bit of a bum. He didn’t like hard labor and so he never had a job that lasted. Instead, he worked odd jobs to make his meager living. It was barely enough to support him, but he fed himself and often spent his time reading books.

Eventually, he traveled to Munich in Germany after convincing himself he would do well in politics, though he had no experience whatsoever. He had served four years in the army and though he earned an Iron Cross, he was only brought up into Corporal position. While in Munich, he contrived staying in the army because it was a way to live and be fed and didn’t particularly mean hard work. One day in September 1919, he was given an order to check out a small political group that called itself the German Workers’ Party. When he went to investigate it, he found a gathering of about twenty five people in the back of a beer hall. The next day, he was invited to join their party. After agonoizing thought upon the decision, he decided he would join in order to take a small step towards his political goal and while there, developed the Nazi (short for Nationalsozialistische) party. He assumed the title of Fuehrer, or Leader. This small group helped Hitler along the political road he needed and by the autumn of 1923, Hitler belived himself strong enough to conquer Germany. His first attempt being “The Beer Hall Putsch”. Toward the end of 1923, Hitler believed his group was well off enough to overthrow the German Republic. Hitler was overestimating himself quite a bit. On November 8th (He was 34 by this time), he led his armed group to a large beer hall on the outskirts of Munich. A politilcal gathering of about 3,000 people had begun there-organized by three men governing Bavaria. Those three were: Gustav von Kahr (state commissioner), General Otto von Lossow (commander of German armed forces in Bavaria), and Colonol Hans von Seisser (head of Bavarian state police). Gustav von Kahr was in the middle of his speech when a shot was fired in the hall. Hitler had fired his pistol at the ceiling and climbed on a table to direct attention to himself, then shouted about a new revolution beginning, hopped off the table and herded the three men in charge into a small room offstage. He then pointed his gun at them and demanded them to join his revolution.

After his bold move, the three men pretended to agree and later turned him in. Hitler was then accused of high treason on April 1, 1924 and sentenced to five years in prison, but he played his own lawyer and dominated the trial. He was sent to the prison where he was treated as an honored guest and given a comfortable room of his own with a great view. While there, he finished making his book called Mein Kampf, or My Struggle which was mainly about his time in Vienna and his “political ideas”.

Hitler served less than a year in prison though and was released Christmas of 1924, the same year he was put into prison. He then rallied up his Nazi party again and ran for dictatorship. Eventually he got his way and during his reign, he took over (in order) Austria (where he originated), Czechoslovakia, and Poland. He then went for Denmark, Norway, France, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Belgium. Then he made the mistake of heading into Russia, who was originally an ally to Nazi Germany. He chose a terrible time to invade-just when the weather became intollerable for war. It was harsh winter and by the time he reached Moscow, forces were being pushed back into Germany while America pushed Germany out of France. Once he knew he was doomed, he and some other friends hid underground. Hitler then shot himself in the mouth after marrying a girl who killed herself along with him. The remains were burned and buried and that was the end of Hitler’s reign.

Despots throughout history have manipulated the truth to cling to power. From Hitler to Kadhafy, they've treated people like mushrooms; keeping them in the dark and feeding them crap.

Image via Wikipedia

While dictators and dictatorial regimes differ to a minor degree in the way they treat their people; ranging from fairly benign dictatorships to the totally vicious, human rights violations variety; they all have one trait in common – they play fast and loose with the truth in their efforts to hang on to power.

The first thing imprisoned by most dictators is not a member of the opposition, but the truth. Dictatorships attempt to control peoples’ access to information and then feed them only the ‘truth’ that the dictator wants them to know.

Dictators are masters of the Big Lie Theory; the principle that if you tell a lie that is outrageous enough, often enough, someone will believe it. History abounds with examples of the use of the Big Lie. The Nazis during World War II, while accusing the British and their allies of lying, were masterful practitioners. From the lies told to victims being marched off to their deaths to the lies to the German people, this vicious regime buried the truth deep. Adolph Hitler, when he dictated his 1925 book Mein Kampf, coined the term the big lie to describe a lie so huge that no would believe that anyone would be impudent enough to tell it.

Despots using the Big Lie to stay in power still populate the earth. From Libya’s mad colonel accusing Europeans of ‘colonial aggression’ while himself using African mercenary troops to kill his own people, to Zimbabwe’s aging leader blaming Western sanctions for every ill that has befallen his country; while ignoring the corruption, violence, and mismanagement that has characterized his own regime from the beginning.

There’s another common trait implicit in all this; despots also never take the blame for anything. They always find an external scapegoat for everything that goes wrong. They are not responsible for anything amiss, but take the credit for all that goes right. And, they stick to their lies, even in the face of incontrovertible evidence; they lie, lie, and lie some more; knowing that if they tell a big enough lie, and repeat it often enough, someone will eventually believe it, even when what they’re saying is total crap.

To a rational mind, this seems madness. After all, you might think, eventually people will see through the lies, won’t they? Perhaps; but history has shown that the Big Lie Theory can persist for a long time. People, especially in groups, can be quite malleable and gullible. Those trained in propaganda know that if you tell a lie often enough, some of the people listening will believe it. Worse, the liars often come to believe their own lies as well. They get so caught up in their own lies they sometimes don’t even notice it when one of their lies contradicts another.

The Big Lie works in the short term; you can fool all of the people some of the time. But, you can’t continue to fool all of the people ALL of the time, and when a structure is built on the sandy soil of lies, eventually the water of truth will wash the foundation away and it will crumble. The best advice for despots comes from the American writer, Mark Twain, who wrote, “Always tell the truth and you will never have to remember anything.”

This Is some work I did for a friend of mine on racism,it's rather long, but it covers all the info on the subject. It's mostly on Europe, and it concerns mainly anti-semitism and ethnical racism, black slaves and such.I hope you like it.

Racism

Racism is a belief or ideology that all members of each racial group possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially to distinguish it as being either superior or inferior to another racial group or racial groups. It’s a term commonly associated with hatred, violence, discrimination and such words. Racism’s been around for centuries, maybe more. This term has in a way become the war of the last two centuries, even though today, in the 21,we’re a short step from removing it from all dictionaries if we put our will and hope into it.

Social Darwinism is a term that describes some late nineteenth century ideologies, and even though it could be understood in many ways, It’s the idea of Survival of the fittest. This Idea has in many ways brought up racism. It’s the belief, that genes played the greatest role in a man’s life, and through this belief the word stereotype was born.

Many Stereotypes were made for the black man. Perhaps many of them were due to the Slave trade, which I’ll discuss further in a moment. The worst thing about those stereotypes is that they continue today. From the 19 century slaveholders, they were portrayed as naive, superstitious and ignorant. Later they began being portrayed in a different, even more discriminating way. They were, and are, often portrayed as lazy, poor, violent, and still very religious. Even some nonsense stereotypes were made like their love of fried chicken, watermelon and Kool-aid.

Even though it seems the first contact between the two races was before recorded history, it may be said that the slave market, and racism began around the 15th century, when the Portuguese began exploring the coast of Africa with trading purposes, but still had taken some of the local population as slaves. Initially the relations between Portugal and the three big African kingdoms they traded with-Zendj, Monomotapa, and Congo were good, those countries even seemed to embrace the Idea of Catholicism and allowed Portuguese merchants and missionaries into their country, but later on those relations fell apart due to the slave trade, which even led to the destruction of the Zendj civilization. But Portugal was not the only country that colonized Africa. Soon the Dutch intervened, and began a market war against them. Every country seemed to be eager to join the slave market. England and France also began colonizing Africa, so did the Prussians and the swedish. It seemed no one really focused on the exploration, but on the slave trade so they only explored the coasts. As they finally realized that humans, no matter what the color of their skin is are equal they began to explore and move deeper into Africa.

And so we enter a second period. A period of integration for the blacks in Europe, and rise of the hatred against the jews. The period between and during the two World Wars.

After both England and France had removed slavery, and racism was not at its highest level, the blacks in both countries were given many rights, the right to build a home, start a family and even fight for their new countries. It should be stated that a part of the British and French armies during World War One were black. Even before that, in the nineteenth century there were many British and French corporals in the armies described as man of color, darkly looking or even a negro, which back than was not such a racist term. Although it seems that racial discrimination was not so high in those days, seeing as a big part of the West Indies battalion was black, nowadays as I search for this information most of what I find is pictures and little information given from the higher ranks about it. Though it seemed that this problem was soon to be removed in most European countries a new problem arose.

Anti-Semitism. Although it occurred in several other instances like The First Crusade, the expulsion in Spain and Portugal and the Dreyfus affair, the most recent, most horrifying act of Anti-Semitism and racism is the Holocaust. But it wasn’t just Hitler’s anti jewish propaganda, it started some years before in all over the world. After the first world war the idea of the “Jewish Financial Conspiracy” was born. Jews were discriminated against in employment memberships and in some countries even other rules applied to them. They had to pay higher taxes, and after the Beilis Trial in Russia, it was believed that Jews use blood libel in their practices. All of this hatred led to a book perhaps. A book called “Mein Kampf”. The book that Adolf Hitler wrote before he came to power, spoke of the accuses above, calling the conspiracy “The Jewish peril” .He thought of it as a jewish plan to rule over the world. He also put his ideas of the world’s twin evils inside it :Judaism and Communism. He spoke of the movement he thought great: Zionism which has the main idea that you cannot be both German and Jewish .And of the communistic movement he saw Russia as “Lebensraum”. A land that Germany should take in order to live better. This explains why he rapidly moved eastward. In his book he also had the Idea to create a union with Italy and Britain and conquer France and the rest of western Europe. By the time he had been elected this book had been sold so many times that he could’ve bought a Mercedes while being in Jail. And as he came to rule the ideas whe wrote manifested. He started promoting the anti-Semitic propaganda and purity of the race he called Aryan. Through the events of his madness, he didn’t only slaughter millions of Jews, but all other nations he thought impure. He took the people of the lands he conquered as slaves, purged the impurity of his own race, slaughtering all that are accused of gambling ,drinking or any other unworthy activity and even destroyed parts of his own army- The SA in the “Night of the long Knives”. Five years after Hitler came to power he removed all of the Jewish rights. On the night of the 9-10 november,1938 “Kristallnacht” occurred. Jews were killed, their property was seized and the synagogues were burned. The slaughter continued with the invasion of Russia. In turned into systematic genocide-The Holocaust. During the period of 1942-1945 11 millions of Jews were targeted for extermination, of which 6 millions were killed. But it seemed that after the madness of this war, Europe had not learned its lesson. After Hitler’s demise anti-Semitism was seen in other European countries shortly after. In Russia a conflict between Stalin and Leon Trotsky started an official anti-semitism propaganda, in which many Jewish poets, writers, sculptors and painters where either arrested or killed. It calumniated into what was called the “doctor’s plot” . A case fabricated by Stalin in which It stated that some Jewish doctors had a plan to assassinate ,and have assassinated Soviet Leaders. Similar events occurred in Poland , which caused the flight of the Jewish survivors from the country. Later such events continued in the country with the theme of blood libel.

I think that in this chapter we should also represent the number of documents that had helped remove anti-Semitism and racism of all forms , or had made the events even worse. At first I should clarify the history of Christianity and anti-semitism. I won’t talk about the bible’s view of Semitism, because I don’t think it made such a big impact, but instead I’ll talk about the modern times view. The Nazis were in a way inspired of two events which entered play around the 15 and 16 century. The first being Martin Luther’s book “The Jews and their lies “.A book in which he quotes “we are at fault in not slaying them”. This ideology was quickly picked up with the Nazis, along with the revival of the Judensau .It was “art” if we can call it that, depicted in churches. It showed Jews in obscene contact with owls , pigs or even the devil. We cannot really accuse the world’s other big religion for views of anti-semitism . It appears , since it was written in the Qur’an that there was almost no discrimination of the Jews in the Arabic world. It did occur in several cases though , like the Grenada massacre of 1066 and other accidents of the same sort , but none of them was that big. There are many reasons why not many cases occurred but I won’t focus on that for now. Let’s give mention a few documents and people which affected tolerance for Judaism and ethnical differences.

The first document I should mention is the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. The document had the idea to give people the same rights, black or white, Jewish or Christian ,male or female. Although the document did not speak of slavery , it was an inspiration for the Haitian revolution and the “Black Jacobins”. It also paved the waves and removed all hatred of the Jews , making France one of the most liberal countries .

Britain on the other hand , even though a liberal country had been a place where slavery was much excepted until the middle of the nineteenth century. Even the church had slaves in their sugar plantations In the West Indies. Child labor trade was even accepted for some time ,but with the establishment of William Wilberforce’s Slave Trade act in 1807 slavery was abolished, that and the Bill of Rights formed equality of all man in Britain.

Some people should also be noted for their help of giving human beings equal rights. Even though they aren’t of European descent and had fought for their rights in another continent, they should be noticed for affecting the rights of the African-European community.

Martin Luther King, Jr was an American activist and leader of the African American civil rights movement .He is well known as an iconic figure in the advancement of civil rights all over the world. He used non-violent methods, much like Mahatma Ghandi. For his work in ending racial segregation and discrimination he won the Nobel Piece Prize in 1964.He was infact the youngest person who had won it. This man’s work had changed the world for all people of African descent, and so I thought he was very well worth mentioning.

New Racism. We cannot say that there’s no racism right now. That might be a problem since we cannot really be safe on the streets today. The war on the street has grown heavily these days, discrimination against muslims and Christians grew to a point where Jihad was called on most of the bigger European countries. Countries like America and Iraq went to war for no political reasons. The number of people who call themselves Skin Heads has grown largely. And naturally with it has grown the hatred of the black people in the Ghettos and the larger cities. Although in the last years they were given some rights, there still are almost no black political figures. If we exclude the small population of neo-nazis and some of the skinheads we can even remove the jew problem completely. Though the same stereotypes exist for those two ethnical groups , they are used much less. Some people still believe that Jews are greedy, ambitious , money grubbing people with big noses , and that blacks love chicken and kool-aid ,are broke and potentially dangerous, it speaks more of the people who believe in those stereotypes than of the two ethnical communities. Infact I believe that defensive stereotypes were made in an answer to the first. The second being much more true. It is known that most black man are athletically stronger than the white due to their genes, the jews on the other hand statistically have the highest IQ .

Even though it seems that we’ve solved some of the world’s social problems with payment of many lives, we still aren’t a community where discrimination doesn’t exist. Many problems are still to be solved ,and we can only pray and learn from our mistakes so that we do not repeat what has been done in the last two centuries.

Hitler at the window in his “prison”.

At first he was depressed and refused to eat later he decided to spend his time well and wrote the book Mein Kampf (My Struggle). Here he wrote his opinion about certain things and how he thought the future would change. He said dangerous things. He wanted to make Europe a major Germany. He thought the German people the largest group of pure descendant of the Aryan opperras was. The Aryan people had also enemies in their midst: namely the Jews. The Jews had to be destroyed by Hitler. He also wrote that only a leader was needed to make Germany great and powerful: That was of course himself. Hitlerism deify (t) and the book.

After one year in prison he was released again and again became leader of the Nazi Party.

In 1938, Germany’s Nazi regime outlawed the German Order and requisitioned all its possessions. Austria followed suit the same year. But this requisitioning of goods was only the last act in a long story of misappropriation of the order’s history to suit Nazi ideals.

The Teutonic Knights were a Catholic Church order of the German nobility founded during the Crusades. Adolf Hitler and the Nazis drew heavily upon its imagery and image when setting up their propaganda. A Teutonic Knight appeared as part of their election campaign as early as 1920. The election campaign was aimed at frightening the electorate with the imagined threat to the ‘unprotected’ eastern parts of Germany. Accordingly, the Teutonic Knight shown in the election placard was shown without a sword.

In 1924, Adolf Hitler used the Teutonic Knights in ‘Mein Kampf’ in many ways. He propagated expansion to the East ‘following the road of bygone knights of the (Teutonic) Order’ (free translation from page 154 of the 1927 edition). He used the knights as analogues for heroism, dedication, duty, and sacrifice for the nation.

His interpretation of the Teutonic Knights was unhampered by any historical knowledge. His views on the Teutonic Knights were an amalgam of 19th century nationalist ideas, folklore, and their romantic reception in art of the same period as expressed by Richard Wagner’s music and painters influenced by the latter.

Heinrich Himmler took these ideas and added a rich dollop of mysticism; he drew heavily on the mystery of the Knights Templar and made free and frequent use of rituals borrowed from the Freemasons while adapting them to his own knightly fantasy. The result was a compelling Disneyland knighthood of his devising serving Nazi propaganda.

Himmler stylised the SS (SS stands for Schutzstaffel which translates to protection squad) to be the new order of Teutonic Knights. The squadrons were encouraged to adopt squadron names with appropriate knightly connotations, and trumped up knightly rituals were used to strengthen the cohesion between individuals as well as their devotion to the organisation and the Nazi party.

The knightly connection was heavily used in daily vocabulary as well. The training schools for Nazi leaders and military ranks were referred to as Ordensburg (Castle of the Order) after the medieval castles built by the knightly orders like the Teutonic Knights. These Ordensburgen usually contained ‘sacred’ convention rooms where Himmler’s hocus-pocus rituals would be held.

The Nazi leaders were ambiguous in their views of the original Teutonic Knights still extant in Germany in the form of the German Order. Heinrich Himmler and Alfred Rosenberg held a positive view in the Prussian tradition while others including Hitler were mainly concerned over the order’s domination by the inimical Vatican. But Himmler also held a clear program of usurping the Teutonic Knights for his own end. The dissolution of the German Order by the Nazi Regime in 1938 was the logical consequence.

The dissolution of the order left the field wide open for a new order under a new ideology. Joseph Goebbels subsequently made the most of this and managed to replace the population’s held views with the new ‘history’ consistent with Nazi politics. There was an exception to this success, though. The population of Eastern Prussia as the original state founded by the Teutonic Knights completely ignored the propaganda. Local organisations for example used a large Teutonic Cross with a very small swastika at its centre to hand out to exceptional workers; and the volunteer tank division Panzer Division Nordland had a squadron going under the name of Hermann von Salza, Grandmaster of the Teutonic Knights during the reign of Emperor Frederic II in the 13th century.

Nazi and anti-Nazi propaganda would hamper historical research into the past of the Teutonic Knights after World War II. German historians started to debunk the ‘known’ history of the Teutonic Knights of the nationalist sentiments accumulated like silt in the 19th century. Russian, Polish, and Lithuanian history writing on the subject reflected anti-German propaganda until the end of the Cold War.

3………………………….The take-over try

4…………………………Economic crises and the Take-over

1.

After the First World War, Germany got into a politic chaos. The left-handed politics tried to take the power over Berlin but they were stopped by the Army.

The national elections of 1919 were a mark on the history, with the lost of almost all social-democrats, that, they were considered the main causers of the hungry that was going all through Germany, to keep their selves on the power, they made connections with the Catholics and the Liberal-Citizens.

On 1919 there was a new Constitution over Germany. The President would be electing for 7 years, and he should command the Army, indicate the ministers, dissolve the Reichstag if necessary and convoke new elections. The ministers were responsible over him.

From 1919 to 1929, the Weimar’s Republic had to deal with difficulties.

On 1925, Hindenburg was elected President, on substitution over Ebert, who had died. The World Economic Crises of 1929 demonstrated that Germany was pretty fragile, allowing the rising on the power of the Nazi Leader, Adolf Hitler.

2.

Hitler was born in Austria, near the Germany frontier. His parents wanted him to be an employer, but he preferred painting career, being reject twice on the Vienna’s Academy. On 1908, his parents had already died, sleeping on hostelry and living over his postal-paintings. He used to go over bars and reading every news and books that he could. On 1913 he left Vienna, going to Monique, where he had the same kind of lifestyle.

During the First World War, he was a soldier, being injured twice and decorated with the Iron Cross.

His book Mein Kampf (“My Fight”), published on 1925, it have the doutrine and the philosophy of the future Nazi Estate.

Defending his extreme-nationalism, Hitler was against the Jews. Jesus and Marx, 2 Jews, with ideas about the equality on men, ideas that Hitler considered dangerous over the Germany citizens.

3.

The organization on the National-Socialist (Nazi) was the base for Hitler to take power over Germany.

The crises of 1923 looked a perfect opportunity for a military try to take over the power on Bevier; Hitler commanded a military manifestation to take the power (putsch). Hitler was arrested and condemned to 5 years on prison; he just spent over a year there. During this time he wrote the “Mein Kampf”.

  4.

The misery allowed the Nazis to rise, politically speaking, just like the communists. On the elections of 1930, it was clearly shown. The Nazi elected 107 people and the communists elected 77.

On 1932, Hindenburg’s Presidential period was over; Hindenburg tried to be elected once again, having Hitler as opponent. It was necessary 2 elections to decide it, Hitler lost.

Von Papen got in charge to be a Chancellor. His great difficulty was the Nazi progress, who had increased their number of people on the parliament. Hindenburg called Hitler to be the vice-Chancellor, Hitler declined.

Hindenburg decided to substitute Von Papen. But Von Papen himself convinced the president to call Hitler for the Chancellor position. On January 30 of 1933, Hitler was a Chancellor, having Von Papen as vice-Chancellor.

The new Reischstag gave Hitler a lot of power.

Hindenburg died on 1934, there wasn’t an election for another president. Hitler joined his functions as a Chancellor with the Estate-Leader functions. An election confirmed that, with about 90% of votes.

The life of Hitler.

The mass genocide known as the Holocaust which took place during World War Two, is considered a basic part of almost every high school curriculum today. However, few people know the deeper story behind the individual responsible. Though it is clear that a number of factors contributed to the commencement of the Second World War, a solitary man was responsible for the initiation of the legislation to remove Jews from civil society in Europe, Adolf Hitler. This legislation eventually led to the Nazi’s organized murder of approximately six million European Jews, all while a global military clash involving the majority of the world’s countries and superpowers was undergo. Though the general public is educated on these topics, few people know the beginning and equally significant story of Adolf Hitler; his average boyhood, his entrance to the both the world of military and politics, and his steps to a leadership role that would ultimately instigate both the Second World War and the largest genocide seen to man, Adolf Hitler lead a incredibly complex life.

Like most well known figures in history, Adolf Hitler was once as an insignificant average boy. He was born on April 20th, 1889 in the small village of Braunau Am Inn to Alois Hitler and Klara Pölzl. When his family moved from the farmland to the town of Lambach, Austria, Hitler enrolled in a Catholic Benedictine Monastery School. This ancient school building was decorated with woodwork and carved stones which incorporated several swastikas (Gavin). Hitler did well in school; he idealized the priests and for two years and even seriously considered becoming one. He eventually formed a kind of obsession with his Fathers military books, one in particular; a picture book on the war of 1870-71 between the Germans and the French. Hitler explained in his book Mein Kampf that “[i]t was not long before the great historic struggle had become [his] greatest spiritual experience. From then on, [he] became more and more enthusiastic about everything that was in any ways connected with war or, for that matter, with soldering” (Shirer). Hitler’s boy hood ended when he made the choice that high school was not for him.

As Hitler grew older, it was not unexpected that he would eventually volunteer as a German soldier in the First World War; this was his entrance to the world of military. After two years on the front line, he was injured during battle and was assigned light duty in Munich. Sickened by the apathy and anti-war sentiment among other German civilians, Hitler developed yet another obsession, a hatred towards Jews; he “saw them as conspiring to spread unrest and undermine the German war effort” (Gavin). After it was announced that his homeland had been defeated in the war, Hitler explained in Mein Kampf that “a hatred grew in [him], hatred for those responsible for the deed” (Shirer). In his mind, this responsibility was not the military’s, but the politicians in Germany, mainly the Jews. This hatred continued long after the First World War.

Following the war, Hitler remained in the army and eventually became both an undercover agent and an informer. He spoke to students and returned solder prisoners, mostly on his anti-Semitic passion. To his delight he discovered his skill in speaking to audiences, a talent that would later be an advantage to him significantly later in life. In 1919, Hitler was assigned to investigate a small group in Munich known as the “German Worker’s Party”. Well investigating he made a passionate speech on anti-Semitism, because of this speech the present members urged him to join. “Hitler was immediately captivated by this anti-Semitic group, and he became the seventh member of the party committee” (Finney 36); this was Hitler’s entrance to politics.

Subsequent to his recruitment to the world of politics, “[i]n 1920 Hitler received his military discharge” (Forman 36). He then devoted himself to the success of this political party, he sent out individual invitations to meetings, placed advertisements in local anti-Semitic newspapers (History Place). With Hitler’s passion and speaking skills the party grew in popularity. In February of 1920, Hitler encouraged the holding of the group’s first mass meeting, though other members were sceptical that it was premature. Despite this scepticism, on February 24th thousands attended and the meeting was a success (Payne, 124). Eventually the movement was only missing one thing, and that was a recognizable symbol; Hitler chose one which remains to be one of the most familiar symbols in history, the swastika. Later, the “Workers Party” name was changed to include the term the National Socialist, thus the full name read the “National Socialist German Workers’ Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP) called for short, Nazi” (Payne, 90). Soon, this party would be escorted into a major place in history, for the most part through Hitler’s influence.

Prior to Hitler’s attachment to the Nazi party, it was mainly based in Munich, but he had goals to carry his political movement to the rest of Germany. In 1921, he travelled to Berlin to campaign for his party and visit nationalist groups. “In Hitler’s absence a revolt was held by the original group members because of his overbearing doctorial presence” (Wistrich 234). In his return to Munich, Hitler resigned from the group. They later realized that because his passion and influence, Hitler’s quitting meant the end of the Nazi party, and allowed Hitler to return under his agreement that he was made the chairman with new powers. This new found power would eventually boost his authority beyond that of the Nazi’s and towards the whole of Germany.

Following Hitler’s declared authority within the Nazi party, a number of financial events between 1921 and 1923 would boost the political party to new heights, and in doing so assisted Hitler’s climb to the takeover of Germany (Gavin). Once German currency fell severely in value because of their $33 million dollar bill to France for damages in the First World War, “[b]itter resentment and unrest swelled among the people, inciting extremist political groups to take action and quickly bring Germany to the brink of chaos” (Gavin). This was the Nazi’s opportunity to bring down the German democratic government. “In 1923, Hitler would gamble, this time he lost” (Forman 37); the Nazis made a plan to kidnap the leaders of the Bavarian government, and force them to accept Hitler as their leader or accept death, they also planned to persuade the German army and proclaim a revolt. This plan was put in action when a large meeting of businessmen including the Bavarian leaders was scheduled at a Munich Beer Hall. Though at first this plan seemed to be successful, a serious of events led to disappointment. In Hitler’s desperation, himself and the Nazi’s attempted to simply march into the center of Munich and take it over with force, this too proved to be failure and Hitler fled the scene to hide. After many nights in hiding, he was arrested and told that he was going to be given a public trial. With the fall of the Nazi revolution it appeared as if both Hitler’s political career and the Nazi movement had proved to be a letdown, but of course this was not the case.

After the trial for the Beer Hall Putsch, Hitler’s political career was not finished; rather the true beginning was commenced. “Politically, Hitler had made his last mistake. He had learned this important lesson: in the future, he would not try to seize the government by force; he would win his way through political channels” (Forman 38). Due to immense media coverage, Hitler became internationally known. Rather than deny his guilt, he admitted his goal to overthrow the government and depict himself as a German patriot, Hitler proclaimed that “[he] alone bear the responsibility” and explained that he was “not a criminal because of that. If [then he stood there] as a revolutionary, it is as a revolutionary against the revolution. There is no such thing as high treason against the traitors of 1918″ (Shirer). Throughout hi trial newspapers quoted Hitler and the people developed affection for the man and his new idea’s. Because of the Judge’s empathy, Hitler avoided the verdict of a life sentence and was given five years in prison; however he only severed nine months. Though the Nazi Party started to crumble in the disorganization with his absence, Hitler himself had gained a national influence and benefited from the media which made his thoughts known publically. In his jail cell he continuously expressed his political and racial idea’s well his private secretary wrote it all down, which eventually became the first volume of his book.

Through Hitler’s constant commitment to his career during his incarceration, he ultimately released Mein Kampf further boosting his role in German politics. Unlike most books, Mein Kampf is a recorded sprawl of Hitler’s speaking on his youth, early days in the Nazi party, his ideas on race and politics, and his future plans for Germany. The original title Hitler chose for his book was “Four and a Half Years of Struggle against Lies, Stupidity and Cowardice” but his publisher wisely shortened it to “Mein Kampf,” simply My Struggle, or My Battle (Foote). This book is where Hitler defines “Aryans” (German white people with fair hair and blue eyes) as the master race, and divides all other humans into categories, placing the Jews and Slavic people as the racially inferior. Throughout the book Hitler uses countless discriminative and offence terms to describe the Jews, and eventually explains the notion for the idea of competition for world domination between Jews and Aryans; in time this would become a common principle, even taught to school children. The book also outlines various military conquests that Hitler would eventually attempt, mostly concerning the Aryans “right” to acquire more land. When Mein Kampf was first released its sales were poor, but once Hitler became Chancellor of Germany millions of copies were sold. The revelations about the nature of Hitler’s outlook, and the supposed outline for his countries future could have served for a warning, but rather most of the world chose to ignore it.

Later, Hitler was released from his nine months in prison with a considerable amount of ideas and thoughts on how to fail the government and capture Germany for himself and the Nazis. Learning from his fault of the Beer Hall Putsch, he chose to play by the rules and get elected. The party had several problems to overcome, and they did so in a patient manor. In Hitler’s first two years as a free man, the Nazi party slowly grew and reorganized its self after the temporary loss of their leader. The organization divided its’ self into thirty-four districts around Germany. “Hitler Youth” was formed for boys ten to fifteen, similar to the popular boy scouts program. Hitler’s SA, or Storm Troopers were developed, and in time “another, more ominous, black-shirted cadre was formed: Hitler’s body guard, the Schutzstaffel or SS” (Forman 39). Regardless of this progress, he sensed that it was going to be a slow rise for his party because of Germany’s new found peace and improving economy.

Following the Nazi party’s patient progress, the years between 1926 and 1929 became known as “the quiet years” and though Hitler made no major political movements, the party slowly and steadily grew. Hitler knew the elections in May of 1927 would be a useless attempt because the Nazi party had little appeal to Germany at the time; “the economy was strong, inflation was under control, and people were working again” (Gavin). At age thirty-nine Hitler moved into a new home just off the Bavarian mountains with his step sister and her two daughters. Shortly after, his twenty year old half niece, Geli developed a short lived relationship. As Hitler enjoyed this calmer time in his life, events in another part of the world were happening that would bring an end to Hitler’s quiet years.

As Hitler’s “quiet years” came to an end, the great depression had a less subtle beginning, progressing Hitler’s leadership beyond that of the Nazi party. The Wall Street Crash on October 29th 1929 had “disastrous worldwide effects, companies went bankrupt, banks were ruined and people around the world lost their savings. Governments seemed powerless to citizen’s panic, the great depression had begun” (Economist); Hitler knew that this was his time. “Above all, he knew his Germans and how to appeal to the various conflicting groups” (Forman 39). To Germany in general, he guaranteed revenge for the losses from World War One, to the industrialists, he offered prosperity through war production, to the middle class he pledged protection from the Jewish “stock exchanged bandits,” to the average workers he promised public education, and to the youth who’s future seemed at risk, he promised the world (Forman 40). “He appealed to all classes of Germans. The name of the Nazi party itself was deliberately all inclusive – the National Socialist German Workers’ Party” (Gavin), and in the spring election the Nazi party went from the smallest to the second largest party in Germany. While this great depression advantaged Hitler politically, he was living his own private depression; after several years of a domineering relationship with her uncle, Hitler’s love, Geli shot herself. But as seen previously, it was not unusual for Hitler to drag himself out of worrying times, only to rise higher than before.

As Hitler overcame his own personal troubles, the summer of 1932 showed a very complicated political battle between the Nazi party and the growing communists complicating his steps to leadership. Eventually, the Nazis prevailed and after an election they now held the most seats in the house. At this point Hitler was demanding chancellorship, his plead was endlessly denied. For months the feud in the Reichstag (Parliament) only produced an unstable government; on July 30th 1933, Hitler was the last possible selection, and was announced Chancellor of Germany, despite the fact that many of the heads of the government at that time, including the president Hindenburg’s dislike for him (Kershaw 137). Though, like most, even the president fell under Hitler’s curse, he passed almost anything Hitler purposed, including; an emergency decree that put the German state of Prussia into the Hands of Hitler’s confidant, a pardon of all Nazis in prison, and the allowance of any arrest of anyone suspected of maliciously criticizing the government and the Nazi party (Gavin) . Hitler had his sights set on complete dictatorship, and with the aid of his new influence over the parliament a law was passed on March 23rd 1933 which allowed the removal of the distress of the people and the Reich (Kershaw 238). Ultimately giving Adolf Hitler complete doctorial leadership. This was an a event in history which would forever change the whole world, Hitler know controlled Germany and his idea’s for the Aryan race to rule could be put into action.

With this new found power, Hitler and his Nazi movement would progress to change humanity forever. Hitler’s primary goals were both straightforward and evil in their own way; his first was forcible acquisition of Lebensraum (living space) for German people, and his second was a final reckoning with the Jews. These goals would ultimately become a reality and become known across the world everlastingly as the Second World War and the Holocaust. As a result of these measures, eventually “in order to escape the disgrace of deposition or capitulation” Hitler killed himself (History place).

World War Two and the Holocaust are events which have not only become common curriculum for students across the world, but general knowledge. Still, few people know the beginning and equally significant story of Adolf Hitler. Countless numbers of articles, essays, books, periodicals, journals and movies have been written on the subject of World War Two and the Holocaust; many of which don’t describe the Nazis early battle’s to control the German government. Few of which illustrate Hitler’s whole journey to the military and political leadership, and still less of which explain the early life of the boy whom was once an average school lad aspiring to be a priest. Adolf Hitler led an exceedingly complex life.
