This is one of many sad stories you can hear in a third world country. This story deserves to be told, earth justice won´t do anything, maybe godlike justice...

This story is about Mercedes, a 38 year old working woman with 2 children and another in the way.

Before she got pregnant, her doctor told her she should not have more babies because of her age and health were not good enough, she had preeclampsia risk, but the lack of economic resources and education she couldn´t have a proper birth control and she got pregnant again with 37 years old.

Her new pregnancy went smoothly with natural ravages, she just had to reach 38 weeks of pregnancy to have a Cesarean and to be happy with her baby girl. Mercedes needed a Cesarean because she was too weak to have a natural childbirth.

Mercedes resisted her pregnancy stoically, every morning with her big belly went step by step to work in cleaning houses. Despite her situation, she had a beautiful home, her two other kids loved her so much for the effort and love she gave them. Joe with 15 years old and Annie with 10 years old. The bitter point was on the physical and psychological abuse her husband caused her. (In our culture we still believe in marriage is forever no matter what…. but sometimes follow the customs are not justified).

Could this catastrophe be avoided with a little more education and open mind? We´ll never know, it´s too late…

Mercedes got to 37 weeks of pregnancy, that morning she got up at 5:30 as usual to prepare her children to go to school and her home to be ready before she go to work. After she made her husband´s breakfast he leave their home ablaze with anger, we´ll never know why, just Mercedes knew the reasons…

At 6 AM, Mercedes began to feel sick and begged her children to call an ambulance. 7AM the ambulance hasn´t arrived yet, her health was deterioration every minute before her frightened kids. Joe stayed with Mercedes and sent his little sister for help. Annie with tears in her eyes, run as fast as she could to her grandparent’s house screaming for help because the aid did not arrive.

When Mercedes parents arrived to her house the scene was shocking: Mercedes was in the floor almost fainting… 7:15 AM arrived the confused ambulance, two blocks later Mercedes and her baby girl couldn´t make it anymore and their light turned off.

Joe and Annie stayed with their grandparents because his father never appeared again… Why?

In two hours these children lost their mother, their baby sister, their home and their innocence. They have to live with the memory in their minds of the exasperating moment when their mother and sister life’s escaped from their little hands.

What remains is to close the eyes and close the heart and let life goes on?

As a last vision is Mercedes in her coffin with the baby girl in her arms waiting to enter their final resting place while her children are left to cope a life without innocence.

Who’s ready for Glee to come out? I know I sure am!

For all those Gleek’s out there, plus a few of the Britney Spears fans: You’ll be thrilled that it was announced a few weeks ago that it is official that Britney Spears will indeed guest star in an episode or two. Britney Spears was also the first to send a picture of her and Heather Morris on set together!

And for everyone who knows of Charice Pempengco, the famous YouTube star who has appeared on shows such as Oprah and The Ellen Degeneres Show, will also be appearing on the hit TV show as Rachel Berry’s foreign exchange show – who, quite to Rachel’s rage, has a better voice than her.

Here are also a few things you probably didn’t know were coming!

Mercedes might be getting a love interest in a hot country singer…

Kurt also may be getting his very own boyfriend…

The season finale will be set in New York for Nationals…

Ryan Murphy, co-writer of Glee, let it slip that Susan Boyle might be coming on as a guest…

Finn finds it hard to pick between Quinn and Rachel…

And, as we all figured, Season 2 will be better than ever.

So who’s excited for season 2 to air? Who’s a full blown GLEEK and are PROUD OF IT? Comment and tell me how excited you are!!

Gas prices have been steadily rises the past several years.

The average price of gas in the United States is up to 3.8 cents over a 3-week period $2.85

An increase of 80 cents from a year ago has been shown in the prices.

Average price for mid-grade regular gas was $2.98. Premium gas was at $3.09.

The lowest price for gas among cities was $2.64 in Newark, New Jersey. Honolulu had the highest prices at $3.43.

Diesel prices rose to $3.06, a rise of nearly 10 cents compared to the past weeks.

In California, the average price for a gallon of regular gas was at $3.06, an increase of 1.89 cents.

As time passes by, prices of oil rise which in turn causes the price of gas to rise. We will begin to see a reduction in the prices of gas when the U.S.A’s dependence on foreign oils begins to decline. To do this we will either need to get oil from our own land or develop new technologies that reduce the need for oil.

This is original advocacy. The point was to propose a bill to be put into action. Telling you any more would spoil the essay, so I'll stop right here.

Someone once said, “Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.” Even though it wasn’t said by someone famous, like Gandhi, or Confucius, you have to admit that it does have some sense to it. You see, teenagers getting in cars, going too fast, and crashing themselves has become a rather big problem in our world. And each year, thousands of people die. That’s right, today I’m going to talk about the problem of teen driving. So who’s to blame? Well, no one actually. You can’t blame the teens because they aren’t adults yet, and aren’t ready to take on such a big responsibility like driving a car. In the next few paragraphs we’ll see discuss the aspects and problems of fatal teen collisions, why 16 is the wrong age to start driving, and laws to pass to solve this problem.

In 2005, there were nearly 6,420,000 car accidents. The result of these millions of car crashes was billions of dollars in damage, and countless people injured and dead. One such accident was on October 13th, 2005. 2 teenage sisters, ages 15 and 17, along with their 15 year old passenger, crashed their SUV into a utility pole. The crash resulted in a fatality for the two girls, and serious injuries to the 15 year old third passenger in the back seat. Did you know that in the US alone, there is one fatal crash every 13 minutes? Right now, car collisions are the leading cause of death for teenagers, which is not surprising at all. 16 years of age is not even considered legally an adult, and the 1st year drivers are 3 times as likely to die in a crash than drivers of any other age. As drivers, 16 and 17 year old’s fatal collision probability increases with each passenger. There are about 6,000 teenagers killed in car accidents each year. That’s a problem. However, not only are these kids killing themselves, they are killing other people too. Considering not just the safety of yourself, but also the safety of your family and peers, we must make a decision: Are we prepared to allow these 16 year olds- these children, handle the weapons society calls, “Cars?”

What are the reactions to people when you tell them that 6,000 teenagers have died in crashes? It could be something from anywhere like, “Woah! We need to fix something!” to, “Who cares, it was their own choice not to drive carefully.” Well, no matter how you say it, 6,000 deaths is 6,000 deaths. And in fact, most, if not all of those 6,000 lives could be saved if the driving age was legally 18. Why you ask? Because at 18, you are officially an adult, and therefore are able to responsibly make decisions for yourself. At 16, you are still a teen- a child- and are not as able to make crucial life death decisions as the adults. At 16, you are probably still living with your parents, and think that if you get involved in an accident on the road, your parents will handle it for you, or talk to the cops for you, and do whatever is your responsibility is for you. Additionally, since teenagers of 16 years have the most crashes, in comparison to other ages, their insurance rates are very high. However, as you get older, the rates drop. At 19 years of age the insurance rates can drop 28 %. That all sounds really exciting, but isn’t it reasonable? After all, at 19 years of age, you are already more responsible and capable of driving. Also, researchers have shown that teenagers have developed a sense of immortality and the, “It can’t possibly happen to me” thought process. 16 year olds are also more worried about getting a ticket than of crashing- studies have shown that. Additionally, in 16 year olds, speeding was involved in 37% of crashes. You see, the point that I’m trying to make is that the minds of 16 year olds are not yet fully developed, and therefore not capable of making decisions like the fully developed minds of 18 year olds can. That is why I believe we should put some laws into action that could fix this catastrophe.

Of course, if I get everyone to say, “16 year olds should not drive cars” none of the 16 year olds would care. No matter what we say, nobody will care until it is a law that comes with a fine if you break it, because without consequences, the teens will do anything they want. It has become necessary to pass the following 2 laws, because if we don’t, we will lose more lives every day- I mean, 13 minutes. The first law is the most obvious- it would be to change the age in which you may legally operate a motor vehicle to 18. In this way, like I said earlier, we can reduce the number of teen-inflicted fatal crashes. Not only are we saving the lives of teens, we are saving the lives of other people in which the teens might kill over a crash. The second law would be to reduce the max speed limit of any road to 50 miles per hour. This way, new drivers can keep up with the traffic and prevent accidents. If we pass these two laws, we would save countless lives. I mean, look at those countless teenagers who died each year. Wouldn’t they be in favor of these two laws? So ladies and gentleman, if we work hard enough, we can put these two laws in action. As a result, those 6,000 boys and girls would not have died in vain. So come on! Are we going to save lives or not?

In conclusion, 16 year olds are not mature enough to handle vehicles that can cause serious damage to people and property. Instead, the driving age should be moved up to 18 years of age. Still, there will be accidents, so to lessen the accidents even more, the speed limit of each road should be set to 50 miles per hour. You know, if the laws I proposed get passed, maybe we’ll see the day where no one will be harmed by some else in a car crash. Maybe in, I don’t know, the year 2038, the amount of fatal crashes will be 0. Then again, it’s just a dream. But dreams are things too you know. Without dreams, inventions, companies, even civilization itself would have not been possible. My dream is for someday, no more people get killed in a car crash. And as long as I live, I’ll keep dreaming. Thank you.

If you're over 40 and going to start dating again, don't make these mistakes.

So you feel like you haven’t dated since the Last Supper?

Sweetie, don’t make these mistakes and you may survive!

Men: It may be just a habit, but don’t sit across the table from a date at dinner and start playing with the hair in your ears. Resist the temptation. I don’t care if you can braid it. It is a fact of life, as men age they lose the hair on their heads and it starts coming out their nose and ears. Try to remember when you are getting ready for the big date, remove the hair that is everywhere on your body where it shouldn’t be! Wonderful devices just for this purpose are sold everywhere. Or you can live it up and let the person who cuts your hair do a little snipping on those problem areas. Hair in the nose and ears is not sexy. Trust me on this one.

Ladies: Leave the tight clothes for Cher and Madonna. You’re over 40 and if the statistics are correct, you are back in the dating game, you’re over worked and stressed 99% of the time, which leads to throwing your face into a bag of mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I speak from first hand experience, I can shovel chocolate in my mouth at record speed. A pudge on J-Lo is cute. You’re light years past the cute pudge age. Look on the bright side, you’re a survivor. You’ve taken the devil (your ex-husband) head on and won. Lift your head up and be proud. Trying to dress like Brittany Spears will not help.

Everybody: Do not greet your date and in the next breath start blabbering about your evil ex-spouse. Not cool. We all know that as soon as you earn the designation of being an “ex” you have now entered the category of being a sub-human slime ball, low life. Yes, we all know that you have the worse ex-whatever in the world. Before you know it, you and your date are trading war stories about how you were “done wrong”. Give it up, move on. You’re on a date, stop dragging that luggage of the old life around with you. Believe me, you won’t find it attractive in the person you’re dating. You don’t want to hear about what a disaster his/her spouse was, in fact no one wants to hear it. Moving right along…

Men: This little tidbit comes from my personal experience. I went on a blind date with a local business owner. He picked me up for dinner in his Mercedes. Ok, not a bad start, at least I didn’t think he was an axe murderer. As soon as we were driving to the restaurant he started telling me his very best “fart” jokes and put his hand on my thigh. I don’t know what was more disgusting, his idiotic jokes, or putting his hand on my thigh, which I promptly smacked. 15 minutes with this guy and I was hoping an axe murderer would stop the car. Lesson for all, Mercedes does not equal class. I’d have rather ridden with a gentleman in a Ford Pinto.

Everybody: Turn off the cell phones! You have a real live person in front of you. You don’t need a cell phone hanging off the side of your head. No one is counting the number of annoying cell phone calls you receive while in public. We hate them. Yes, it’s time some one says it. People yakking loudly on their cell phones are becoming public enemy number one. If you have to check with the baby sitter, excuse yourself, go to the rest room and call home! A date should be adult time, not kid time. Believe it or not, you actually are entitled to an evening out and some fun.

Everybody: Don’t ask your date how much money they make. A man asked me to dance and by the time we got out to the dance floor, he had asked me where I worked, what my title was and my salary. I felt like I was filling out a credit application. Women are guilty as well. I’ve heard them grilling men, sizing them up to see if they are “husband” material. I’ve also seen the same men disappear faster than Houdini. We call these women Terminators. They can end a date in a nanosecond.

So, try to kick back, relax and make new friends. Let nature take it’s course and don’t set up housekeeping together after one date! After all, you are over 40….

Comparing cars to men.

You’ve heard that expression “Men are like buses?” One comes along every hour. Well, buses can be slow and late. Ask yourself this question, What kind of car do I like? Then once you figure out what type of car you like then you know what man you are looking for to date. For example: If you like BMW’s, it may mean that the man you are searching for is well dressed, articulate, good looking and may have a bit of money. First dates are always fun with these kind of men. They talk about themselves and their job. Don’t expect much from this man because they are married to their jobs. Nowadays, BMW’s are easy to purchase by anyone.

If you Rolls Royce that means you could possibly like the higher powered men. They too are married to their jobs and think highly of you when they are with you. The dates however do not last for hours and hours. But during the night, you’ll be treated like royalty.
Mercedes Benz is a different breed. These type of men take their time with everything. These men will even like to cook. So, your first date will be that the man will cook for you. Isn’t that wonderful? They also probably be more romantic and take you on picnics.

Ferrari’s are fast and good looking. These type of men are only concerned about what looks good and how they look. First dates with these guys will be long because all they would do is look in the mirror. Yes, they are good to look at. Even though every car won’t be listed, this is giving you a look at how men can react to certain things and if you are willing to spend time on first dates wit that person.

My favorite, Mazda. it has the quality of the other cars listed in men form, yet when you are ready to have fun, they are there ready and waiting. But we can’t forget about the biggest ride of all rides and that is the train. A train is fair, easy, smooth, faster than the average car, can carry a heavy load and when you get tired, they slow down
