Get a garbage bag

I know I know, this isn’t the ghetto. You don’t do things the ghetto way. Lets face it though, the criminals of the ghetto are the ones who have known how to get rid of bodies for generations, so for just once let’s listen to thier glorious wisdom. Stuff the stiffy into a bag and surround it with kitty litter. This will keep the stiffy from smelling up the place as bad and drawing attention. If room permits, add in some real garbage, used condomns, old food, your dignity, etc. to give a more natural stench to the bag.

Give the body some food

Well… or give the body AS food. Add in a few worms, fungus, etc. to get that body decomposed quickly in case you’re stupid enough to follow my flawless advice and STILL be caught. After all, we know that your mistakes are NEVER my fault. Make sure that body can’t be identified, and give some smaller creatures dinner for a lifetime. It’s a win win! For those of you who are too blonde to understand, The more bugs you put in, the faster that stiffy goes bye bye.

Throw the stiffy into the dumpster

If you followed my genius advice above (And I know you all did) the body bag containing the body bag should smell like well… garbage. Throw it in the dumpster and wait for it to be taken away. Nobody should notice anything unusual, and I mean come on… if someone happened to notice a stronger smell than usual for some reason well… it’s a trashcan. What are they going to suspect? Most people are so protected and unaware of the realities of life that they won’t even know what a corpsie smells like anyways. Just pray you don’t live near a cop or a mortician. (Although if a mortician finds it you can probably give them some alone time with the stiffy as payment to keep their mouths shut. I hear alot of morticians are into cracking open the cold ones.)

Now if you followed my amazing advice congratulations. Your stiffy is gone in a jiffy. Anyone finds it at the dump, it’ll be too decomposed to be identified or traced. Genius right? I know I am. I’ve done it tons of times! Literally so many times I lost count… well… in my dreams… or video games… or roleplays. Never in real life… otherwise knowing me I would fuck it all up and be in jail right now haha. Anyways hope it gave you a laugh, I was bored. This is NOT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY!!! The last thing I need is to be sued or the po po show up on my doorstep because someone followed my “advice.” >.< Then I’d be behind bars and I’d probably drop the soap… damn I’m clumsy…

Men and boys were disappearing since 1978. Strange smells were coming from room 213. Jeffrey Dahmer had unleashed his demon.  He murdered 17 boys and men. He first found his interest in cutting open animals, and impaling them. He was fascinated by their insides. Once he could no longer hold back his urges he began his human murders. He not only murdered, but also practiced cannibalism, necrophilia, rape and dismemberment. (Fisher). His victims were hitchhikers, at gay bars, and in other various places. His final victim escaped and warned the police. As a result, Jeffrey Dahmer was then arrested in 1991. In 1994 a cellmate murdered him. He was murdered with a free weight. Thus why Columbia Correctional Institution can no longer have free weights. When most people just hear the name “Jeffrey Dahmer” they immediately know who he is, and what he did. His face was, and still is everywhere for his gruesome murders.

Jeffrey Dahmer’s arrest made the list of “Top 25 Crimes of the Century” in Time magazine.  The horrid findings in his apartment had shown the world that monsters do exist. In fact he became known as “monster” (Prud). He was sentenced to almost 1000 years in prison. Much of the controversy after the findings in room 213, were how the police officers handled the situation. When a young fourteen-year-old boy was naked running down the street, bleeding, he was reported to the police. Dahmer convinced the officers that he was an adult, and his lover. Sadly enough the cops let him back into the apartment. There the young 14 year old became his 13th victim. Once his final victim was found, the police followed Dahmer into his apartment and found body parts, photographs, and tools.  The Milwaukee Police who handled the situation were then terminated for failure to investigate the 14-year-old victim, and do a background check on Dahmer. Minorities such as homosexuals, and foreigners were outraged by the officer’s lack of sensitivity. In a News Week article, it was stated that over the radio one cop said to the other: “Intoxicated Asian, naked male,” ‘one amid laughter,’ “was returned to his sober boyfriend” (Miller). This turned the media’s attention to the Police Department’s homophobia, and racism. The two women who had reported the naked boy were both black, which made society believe the authorities did not take the women seriously due to their race. The boy was also not of white descent, but was Laotian. The officers were sent to trial for  “equal protection of law”. Patterns of discrimination were revealed in trial, that the Milwaukee Police had been taking part in. (“Trial of Milwaukee Police”). This widened the issue more. The media now, was not only covering Dahmer and his victims, but it led to discrimination allegations as well.

Movies, books, and stories were then created to retell the story of Jeffrey. The victim’s families protested against entertainment sectors. Four movies were created about the serial killer, and 13 books were written about, or included him. Bands and artists wrote lyrics about Dahmer, and created art pieces of him.  In 1994, on MSNBC Stone Phillips had a one on one interview with him, and his father, in a series known as  “Confessions of a Serial Killer.” This video is available on YouTube, and still today people are commenting on the video, comments of hatred, interest, and wonder. In this year, YouTube followers are making tributes to Jeffrey Dahmer, as well. Just recently, Discovery Channel covered the case of Dahmer in their series “Twisted.”  Nine years later there are still investigations on Dahmer, interviews with Dahmer’s family, and people involved.  Media is trying to unravel what made him kill, and how can we prevent these situations from happening.  Jeffrey’s dad wrote a book about him titled: “A Father’s Story.”  When the book sold copies he sent proceeds to the victims and their families. The parents of Jeffrey still hold the last name Dahmer, but David, their younger son now lives in obscurity. The newly found pop artist, Ke$ha wrote a song called “Cannibal,” one of the lines quotes: “Be too sweet and you’ll be a goner yep, I’ll pull a Jeffrey Dahmer.” Just released in 2010. 

The list of media continues, just typing “Jeffrey Dahmer” into Google, you will be given 365,000 results. What has developed from Dahmer’s arrest proves that in all the events of 1991, this was the most significant. Behind the arrest is agony, the brutal truth of the people who live amongst us, and the victims who suffered.  Until this day, new media is still coming out about Dahmer, and it will be a “legend” until the end of America’s history. Not all of America is great, and sometimes the history of this country is what sends the chills up and down our spines.

An overview of some sexual deviations. Some are more dangerous than others. Some deviation deviants its surroundings do not bother at all. The list is not complete – there are hundreds of sexual deviations. It’s just a technical overview of the most famous.

• Dermatofagia – sexualities compulsive desire to eat human skin.
• Dippoldismus – (as a student Mr. Dippold, a home teacher who has killed a young boy to death), child abuse by sexual motives.
• Efebofilia - (from Greek: = ephebos in old Athens boy aged 16 – years, philia = love), homosexuals or sexual attraction to young men mature women.
• Exkrementofilia – Sexual arousal from anointing with their feces or foreign.
• Formikofilia - The origin of this deviation is Latin = Formica ant. It is one of the options zoo philia, sexual interest in all the affected people are so focused on small animals such as snails, frogs and various species of insects including ants, which attaches to the body concerned, mostly around the genitals.
• Gerontofilia – erotic and sexual orientation for the elderly. A typical feature is the inability to have sex with another partner than the old well. The choice can not be gerontofilia older partner, impressing their properties.
• Graeofilia – Deviance, which affected only excite old women.
• Gypsy, plastering – Individuals with this aberration are experiencing the excitement of plaster immobilization. They love the smell of an increasing temperature during drying. • Nozofilia – Medical Dictionary and characterize the desire for it to be terminally ill. Sexology dictionaries extend this definition as follows: Nozofil is sexually fascinated by a man who has a deadly disease.
• Ofidiofilia – Try to throw the female snake around his neck. Probably will scream horribly! It is such ofidiofil the snake will meet directly.
• Pedophilia – One of the most dangerous sexual deviations, which is characterized by having sex with young children!
• Retifismus – Sub-fetishism, where the erotic stimulus female shoes.
• Sadism – Thrilled when inflicting pain.
• Saliromania – Need to contaminate themselves or their partners during sexual intercourse (excrement)
• Symforofilia – Sexual deviation, known for sexual satisfaction in car accidents.

What the Theorists Say:

Bohemian Grove attendees have included all the major Republican politicians of the last 80 years (including all US Presidents since 1923), together with Fortune’s top 500 business leaders, heads of global financial bodies, such as the World Bank, select foreign leaders and arch-conspiracy figures, such as Henry Kissinger. They urinate in the open, dress up in drag, fornicate with prostitutes and stage a pagan ritual where an effigy is sacrificed to a giant stone owl (Moloch); more extreme conspiracy theorists claim that the effigy is sometimes replaced by a real person. An article in a local community newspaper, Santa Rosa Sun, reported on human sacrifices of the Moloch Cult being practised at the Grove and in the mid 1980s there were rumours of murders in remote parts of the property. According to one witness who claims to have been an observer and near victim, the inner sanctum of the Grove contains an Underground Lounge, a Leather Room, a Dark Room and a Necrophilia Room.

More importantly, attendees lobby furiously, peddle influence, choose presidents and Supreme Court judges, decide where to launch wars and generally carve up the world. It was here that the Manhattan Project, which led to the development of the atom bomb, was conceived and it is here that big business cozies up to politics to arrange lucrative government contracts and determine spending priorities – for instance, starting wars from which the military-industrial complex can profit.

The Official Story?

The rituals are simply sub-Masonic play-acting. The effigy represents ‘Dull Care’, which is symbolically burned so a lot of stressed out men can enjoy a fortnight’s break with a bit of amateur dramatics. There are speeches on current topics of interest and there may be some networking but it is entirely harmless fun.

Should you be paranoid?

The weird antics at Bohemian Grove probably represent nothing more a chance for America’s elite to relive the summer camp frolics of their youth. But it is inherently undemocratic for the (exclusively male) American ruling class and the world to hobnob in secrecy with each other. For instance, George W Bush regularly hung out here with John O’Connor, husband of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, who, as a woman, was not allowed attend the Grove but whose crucial vote won him the 2000 election. Other attendees have included most members of George W’s White House staff, including Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfield and Colin Powell. Equally suspicious is the remarkable reluctance of mainstream media to report on this bizarre convocation.

Just before his tenth birthday, his family moved to Bath, Ohio. Jeffrey was given the honor of naming his new baby brother, whom he named David. It was shortly after this that his mother Joyce would be hospitalized for anxiety and his parents’ marriage first began to show signs of collapsing.

At about the age of 13, Jeffrey first became curious about animals, particularly the insides of animals. He started going out in search of animal carcasses in order to investigate and dissect the animal. This was the “starting point of his downward spiral” (L. Dahmer, 1994), “and it just happened to coincide with the start of puberty.”

Dahmer attended Revere High School, where he once conned himself and classmates into the executive offices of then Vice President Walter Mondale in 1977.

It was in high school that he first realized he was only sexually attracted to men.

He would soon discover that those feelings would be forever linked to the desire to lie next to them as they lay unconscious or to the desire to kill them. He found himself sexually excited at the thought of either fantasy.

In an interview Jeffrey once stated, “it started at the age of 14 or 15. I started having excessive fantasies of violence intermingled with sex and it just got worse and worse. I didn’t know how to tell anyone, so I didn’t. I just kept it all inside.”

One of the fantasies was to lay next an unconscious man; a fantasy he was going to try to make a reality. He decided to attack a local jogger, club him and lie next to his body. He knew the jogger’s schedule and that he ran the same time everyday. For whatever reason, that jogger did not run that day and Jeffrey never tried to put that plan into motion again.

As the fantasies got worse, a then 16-year-old Dahmer turned to drinking in order to deal with his fantasies. He would drink alcohol before going to school everyday; one classmate would later say that she thought it was weird that he was getting drunk at 8 am in the morning. Jeffrey called the alcohol his “medicine.”

In addition to his drinking, Dahmer’s home life was falling apart. His parent’s marriage was going from bad to worse, what was once just fighting was now becoming violent. At school, he was known as the class clown, but his drinking and fantasies kept him from truly connecting with people. His father said in his book that, “he didn’t connect or interact with people. When one fails to connect to people one falls into a fantasy world. After a while those fantasies can become real.”

In 1978, Jeffrey’s life as he knew it was turned upside down in several ways and it would send him into a tailspin that would make his father’s prediction come true.

In 1978, Jeffrey Dahmer:

• graduated Revere High School

• watched his parents get divorced

• watched his father moved out

• watched as his mother and brother moved away

• murdered his first victim: Steven Hicks

In June 1978, Jeffrey picked up a hitchhiker from the side of the road, took him home to his deserted family home, had sex with him, murdered him, dismembered his body and placed him in a garbage bag in order to get rid of the body. On the way to do this though, he was pulled over by the police for swerving across the yellow line. Just as he had lied years before to get into the executive offices of Vice-President Mondale, he lied to the police who let him go without ever knowing the truth about why he was driving erratically.

Commenting on his murder of Hicks, Dahmer said, “I wish I had just kept going, but I didn’t. I turned around and picked him up. That is when the fantasy became reality.” He returned to his family home with the body. Using the skills he had developed as a child dissecting animals, he removed the flesh from the bones, broke the bones into small pieces using a sledgehammer and threw the fragmented bones out in the woods behind his home where they would remain undiscovered for over a decade.

His father Lionel returned to the family home and moved back in with Jeffrey. At this time, Jeffrey continued to drink harder in order to deal with his fantasies and guilt over killing Hicks. However, he would later admit that the kill calmed his fantasies and he was able to keep from killing again for almost nine years.

In 1979, he attended Ohio State University, but flunked out after two terms. At the urging of his father, Jeffery Dahmer joined the United States Army and received six months training as a medic. He went from a scrawny young man to a fit soldier. His father had hoped that the military would give Jeffrey the stability he needed to be in order to be a contributing member of society.

That hope turned into disappointment as Dahmer was discharged from the Army after serving only two of the six years he enlisted for. He was discharged because his drinking became so out of control that he was showing up to assignments drunk and his commanding officers could no longer ignore it.

In 1982, he moved in with his grandmother in West Allis, Wisconsin where he lived for six years. While living with his grandmother he made one of the two conversions he would make in his life. He stopped drinking, went to church and fought against the homosexual feelings that he now viewed as a sin.

August 1982, he had a small brush with the law and was charged with his first crime: indecent exposure. It was also during this time that he purchased a male mannequin from a department store. He would hide this mannequin in his closet during the day and at night use it to fulfill the fantasies that continued to haunt him. He continued this until his grandmother found the mannequin and made Jeffrey get rid of it.

In September 1986, he was arrested again for indecent exposure and was sentenced to a year in prison, of which he only served 10 months and was told to seek counseling, which he never did. During this time, he began to visit gay bathhouses, where he would drug men in order to make the men be the submissive partner.

This would bring up later questions like:

1. Did he do this to recreate the fantasy he had as a young teenager of laying next to an unconscious man?

2. Did he use the mannequin to fulfill that fantasy?

3. Was this just a precursor to what he would soon evolve into: a

necrophiliac – a person who slept with the dead?

In November of 1987, he went to a gay bar and met a man named Steven Tuomi. He would take this man to a hotel, have sex with him and wake the next morning to find him dead. He would later admit to having no memory of killing Tuomi, but knew that he had. He stuffed Tuomi’s body into a suitcase and took it back to his grandmother’s house, where he dismembered it in the basement.

In an interview before his death, Jeff said, “that was when the obsession really started and I chose to pursue it.”

He killed two more people in 1987, James Doxtator, age 14 and Richard Guerrero, age 25. With Doxtator, Dahmer entered a new phase of his obsession with killing his lovers. It was with Doxtator that he first experimented with necrophilia by having sex with the deceased body of Doxtator for a week before dismembering it. It was during this time that Jeffrey returned to drinking. His grandmother fed up with the drinking and strange odor coming from her basement asked Jeffrey to leave her home.

On September 25, 1988, Jeffrey was arrested for a third time, this time for sexually fondling a 13-year-old boy. He was again sentenced to serve a year in a prison work release camp, of which he served only 10 months. Just a few days before reporting in to serve his sentence, he killed his fifth victim, Anthony Sears and evolved again as a killer by boiling and mummifying Sears’ head and genitals, keeping them in his locker at work.

During his time in the work release camp, Jeffrey’s father petitioned the court not to just release Jeff, but to release him into an alcohol program. The judge ignored the request and released Jeffrey Dahmer. Just 2 weeks after his release, Jeffrey Dahmer would begin a yearlong killing frenzy that would leave 13 men dead. Those 13 men were:

• Edward Smith, age 36, June 1990

• Raymond Smith, July 1990

• Ricky Beeks, age 27, July 1990

• Ernest Miller, age 22, September 1990

• David Thomas, age 23, September 1990

• Curtis Straughter, age 19, February 1991

• Errol Lindsay, age 19, April 1991

• Anthony Hughes, age 31, May 24, 1991

• Konerak Sinthasomphone, age 14, May 27, 1991

• Matt Turned, age 20, June 30, 1991

• Jeremiah Weinberger, age 23, July 5, 1991

• Oliver Lacy, age 23, July 15, 1991

• Joseph Brandeholt, age 25, July 19, 1991.

Of the above-mentioned males, Sinthasomphone is the one most people remember because his plight made headlines once the truth about Dahmer had done became known.

He is remembered as the one who almost got away, but was given back to Dahmer by the police who should have saved him. Dahmer told police that he and the boy were having a lovers’ spat, the police left and Dahmer killed the 14-year-old boy that night. Sinthasomphone was also the brother of the 13-year-old boy Dahmer had molested in 1988, for which he went to prison for.

Dahmer was murdering his victim’s so fast that he was running out of room for them all. So according to his confession, he bought a 57-gallon drum, filled it up with acid and placed the dismembered body parts into it. Once the body parts would dissolve, he would flush the slushy like flesh down the toilet in his apartment. He would cook other body parts on the stove.

He took photographs of his victim’s in various stages of dismemberment and in an effort to keep his victims alive somehow, he began to eat the body parts of his victims for “sexual gratification.”

On July 22, 1991, Dahmer’s reign of terror ended when he picked up Tracy Edwards, who would later escape and bring the police straight to Dahmer’s door. Upon searching Dahmer’s residence, the police found:

• 83 photos of bodies in various stages of dismemberment

• Four fleshed skulls in the refrigerator

• Three torso’s of males in the 57-gallon drum, with maggots

• Cooked flesh and genitals on the stove

• Freezer full of arms, legs and other body parts

Dahmer confessed his crimes in a 159-page confession. He admitted to the killing of 17 men. Jeff would later admit that the confession felt, “cathartic to admit his crimes.” He pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and was officially charged on August 22, 1991.Wisconsin had no death penalty so if Dahmer were to be found guilty without insanity he would face life in prison. However, if he were found guilty by reason of insanity, he would serve his sentence in a mental hospital.

His trial started on January 30, 1992 and he was found guilty without insanity on February 15 and sentenced to prison for a total of 937 years. At the sentencing hearing Jeffrey Dahmer made the following statement:

“I feel so sorry for what I did to those poor families…if I could give my life to bring back their loved ones I would. I am so very sorry.”

He was sentenced to Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin where he became known as inmate #177252. Jeffrey Dahmer would later say that he blamed his atheist views and evolution for his killing spree. He told his father, “if it all happens naturally why can’t I make my own rules?”

It was in prison that Dahmer underwent his second conversion and began speaking with a priest named Roy Ratcliff in April of 1994 and in May of that same year was baptized. Despite the conversion, he continued to have the fantasies that had haunted him nearly his entire life.

Jeffrey Dahmer had several attempts on his life while he was in prison, two of which sent him to the prison hospital in July and August of 1994. On November 28, 1994, at the age of 34, Jeffrey Dahmer was bludgeoned to death by fellow prisoner Christopher Scarver.

Psychological Reasons Behind Dahmer’s Crimes

Jeffrey Dahmer suffered from several psychological disorders, which in part lead to his behavior. Was he mentally ill? Was he in fact insane? In order to qualify as being insane one has to meet one of two criteria:

1. Can the person tell right from wrong?

2. If the person meets the first criteria, can the person act accordingly or does his or her actions happen out of the person’s control?

Jeffrey Dahmer’s own actions show that he felt guilt at times, that he tried to deny his fantasies and desires by drinking and that he at times acted without remembering anything later. He was continually evolving as a serial killer. Toward the end of his killing spree, he had advanced to killing almost one to two men a week.

Jeffrey Dahmer has been labeled with the following disorders:

• Sexual sadist

• Necrophilia

• Paraphilia

• Cannibalism

• Erotic Asphyxia

• Psychopathic

Despite the definitions and labels, nothing can truly explain what makes a man like Jeffrey Dahmer do what he did. Understanding the criminal mind is not impossible, but truly understanding the criminal mind is something that will never be achieved by someone with a college degree of any kind.

Before looking into the lives of various serial killers, I have to mention the infamous Jack the Ripper. Jack the ripper surely set a new standard for the modern day serial killer to follow. The noticeable difference between him and other serial killers was that he committed a burst of violent sexual murders and then disappeared. He was like a bad storm that hits fast and furious then suddenly subsides leaving destruction behind. Because of this, Jack the Ripper escaped the legal system. There are many assumptions about who he was and what made him do these awful crimes but Jack the Ripper remains an interesting and unknown subject for psychiatrists and authors around the world.

Jack the Ripper played with the police sending them notes signed Jack the Ripper, a name that has passed the lips of millions spoken with horror and disgust. He targeted prostitutes in their 40’s until his last victim who was 25 years old. The London police were aghast when Jack the Ripper’s first victim was found. The body of his first victim had her throat slashed, belly slit and her vagina mutilated with stab wounds. The police thought they had seen the worst murder ever until they found his next victim a week later. The second victim suffered with malnutrition and consumption that added to the horror of the scene. Jack the Ripper severed his victim’s neck muscles and almost sawed through her spinal column leaving her head dangling from her body. He also disemboweled her.

Jack the Ripper went into a crazy frenzy when interrupted by the sound of a truck approaching. In a hurry he slit his third victim’s throat, disfigured her face, cut her body in half from her rectum to her breastbone, then removed her entrails and took her left kidney. His forth victim he took his time disemboweling, leaving her without a nose and breasts and slicing pieces of flesh off her legs. Suddenly the murders stopped, it was over. Jack the Ripper faded into the shadows leaving the horrors behind him for the world to deal with. What a demonic inspiration for the serial killers that followed him!

Hamilton Fish started to call himself Albert Fish when he turned 15 because he hated the name Hamilton and was tired of his nick name “Ham and eggs”. Before Albert was born seven of his relatives suffered with severe mental disorders. This leads me to think that his gruesome acts were the result of a heredity disease. After Albert’s father died, his mother placed him an orphanage. Albert proved to be a problem child running away often and wetting his bed every night until he turned 11. As a young adult, Albert drifted around as a house painter and decorator. He married a woman nine years his senior and fathered six children. His wife left with their boarder but after a while returned to Albert keeping her lover in the attic even though Albert stipulated that he would only accept her back if she got rid of her lover. When he found out about her lover in the attic, there was a stormy fight and his wife left forever. The whole affair seemed to set him off. Albert was prone to hallucinations often screaming that he was Christ. Obsessed with sin, sacrifice and penitence through pain, he would make his children and their friends beat him on his buttocks until he bled. He also inflicted pain on himself by inserting needles into his groin and sometimes loosing track of them. When he felt this pain was not enough to prove his penance, he would soak cotton wool in alcohol, insert it in his anus and set it alight. Although he stated that he did not enjoy the pain he was inflicting on himself, he gained sexual gratification through the pain, blaming his need for atonement that forced him to find different means of inflicting worse pain on himself.

The murders, I believe, were associated with Albert’s gruesome sexual desires. He started to enjoy the beatings on his buttocks in the orphanage. His desired need to pay for his sins was actually a way to gain sexual enjoyment. Albert was careless criminal. He was arrested a number of times and spent time in jail for grand larceny and even spent time in a psychiatric hospital but was soon released being diagnosed as sane but having a psychotic sexual personality. Two years before his hospital treatment there was an unsolved case of the murder of a young girl of 12. Her body was dismembered and different parts of her body was used to make stew. The young girls name was Grace Budd, the daughter Mr. and Mrs. Budd who Albert befriended under the synonym of Mr. Howard. Albert was compelled to boast about his murders and wrote a confessional letter to Mrs. Budd telling her all the details of his gruesome killings, including the murder of her daughter Grace. The thing to note was that he first tied up his victims, beat their buttocks, tortured them before killing them and then making a stew out of their body parts to eat. His victims were all young boys or girls because he believed that “God” ordered him to castrate young boys and punish young girls. Prosecutors believed he molested and/or killed over 100 children. Albert being a sadomasochism, enjoyed sexual perversions like eating human excrement, torture, pain, murder and eating human flesh. Albert was sentenced die in the electric chair. The first jolt of electricity short-circuited because of all the needles he had inserted into his body, and he died on the second jolt.

Looking at Ed Gein’s childhood the poor child must have been totally confused and afraid. His mother was a devout Christian to the point of insanity. She led her family with a strict hand preaching to her sons the dangers of loose woman and reading to them from the bible on a daily basis. His father was an alcoholic, going against everything his mother preached. She taught her children that their father was a worthless evil drunk. She started a grocery business and as soon as she saved enough money, she moved her family to a farm in order to protect her sons from the sins of the city. His mother would scold him and warn him of the sins of others if he tried to make a friend so the shy, lonely little boy turned to the dark corridors of his mind for comfort. In a period of five years Ed’s father, brother and lastly his mother died. Ed was 40 years old when his mother died and did not waste any time turning nailing his mother’s bedroom shut and redecorating the rest of the house in his own unique style.

As a child, Ed wanted to be a female and the idea grew stronger as he grew older. On many occasions, he thought of amputating his penis but thought better of it. The idea of undergoing a sex change operation was out of the question because it was so costly. He began to think of other ways to turn female even if it was only on a temporary basis. By the time he turned 46 years of age he regularly visit three local cemeteries. He would dig up the recently dead bodies and remove “choice” pieces before burying what he did not need again. He turned the pieces into home decorations. He had a belt of nipples, used skullcaps as bowls to eat out of, put skulls on his bedposts, made mobiles of lips, noses and labia. He used the skin for upholstery and lampshades. To appease his desire to be a female he held regular ceremonies under the moon wearing a human scalp and face. He also skinned out a vest with breasts that he wore and female genitals that he strapped above his own. These ceremonies made him feel like a woman but the satisfaction was short lived and soon he was on the search for better means to be a woman.

The killing began. The bodies of two women (Mary Hogan and Bernice Worden) disappeared under similar circumstances. The police found a spent cartridge from a .32 caliber pistol and a thin trail of blood leading to the back door on both occasions. Ed bought anti-freeze the day before his second murder and this led the police to his home. Searching the home of Ed turned into a nightmare experience. They found in the back shed, the headless body of Bernice Worden. Her body, gutted like a wild animal, had organs and genitals missing. In the house they found Bernice’s heart cooking on the stove while her head stood on display as a sickening ornament. Her other organs were thrown in a box that was found in the corner of a room.

The judge ruled that Ed was insane and found innocent “by reason of insanity”. Although Ed only received a sentence for the murder of Bernice Worden evidence showed that he murdered many more, both women and men. The judge suspected him of murdering his own brother but there was no evidence of this.

Everyone loves a clown so you can imagine the shock when a killer clown hit the town. When friends and family of John Wayne Gacy found out that, (the very well liked) John was the Killer Clown they were flabbergasted. John’s father was an alcoholic tormenter in the confines of his home. He despised his son often beating him senseless or throwing him across the room against the wall, and calling him a sissy and worthless. Trying to prove that he was not a sissy, John partook in many sport activities but played only when his hypochondriac tendencies would allow him. When he was 11 years old, a swing hit John on the head causing a blood clot in his brain. He experienced blackouts for five years until eventually the doctors diagnosed and dissolved the blood clot with medication. Being a hypochondriac, John found himself deprived of an illness so he made up another one. He believed that he had a heart ailment that magically appeared according to his moods or needs.

John’s first crime was coercing a young employee into homosexual acts that lasted a number of months before the young man reported him. Trying to evade the charge, he hired another teenager to beat up the prosecutor’s witness but that backfired adding a second charge to the first. After 18 months in jail but still on parole, John moved to Chicago, started a job as a successful building contractor and an active participant in Democratic politics. John Wayne Gacy became popular and respected amongst all who knew him. Children adored John who appeared as Pogo the Clown at many children parties and charity organizations. John felt that he proved his father’s words were a lie and for a short period, he was thoroughly pleased with his success. Eventually this was not enough. John’s secret sexual cravings soon turned to an obsession that resulted in his downfall.

He chose his victims from the runaways and hustlers that roamed the streets or from his young friends and employees. Luring his victims in was easy for John. Sometimes he would flash a gun and badge and “arrest” his attended victim but Pogo the Clown preferred to charm his victim to his home for an enjoyable evening. He made a game of his plan to kill, putting his victim to ease by drinking and playing pool with them, showing off with magic tricks, ending a lovely evening with his magic rope trick. He would strangle his victim and bury the body under the floor of his home. His usual targets were aged from nine to twenty years of age. The terrible stench coming from his home he blamed on a sewage problem and people believed him. Eventually when there was no more space for the bodies of his prey, he dumped them into the river.

This horrific pastime of John’s became boring and he decided to go a step further. He started to use chloroform on his victims and then tie them to a rack. He tortured by whipping them and using a huge dildo to sodomize them as well as raping them for hours on end. Two of his victims escaped the death penalty set by Pogo the Clown. The first was set free after hours of torture and the second John dumped at the river edge beaten and bleeding and seemingly dead with the all the chloroform he used on the young man.

The young man woke up and immediately reported John to the police. The police found 28 bodies under the floor of John’s home and another 5 bodies in rivers nearby his home.

Pogo the Clown became The Killer Clown, a scary thought for parents around the world. The Killer Clown died by lethal injection.

When looking at a young man like Gary Michael Heidnik with an IQ of 130 thoughts of great potential comes to mind. No matter how intelligent a child may be, an abusive father and alcoholic mother are able to change the course of such a child from greatness to destruction.

Gary enlisted in the army when he turned 18 and was already showing signs of severe psychological disturbance. From the time Gary left the army to the time of his arrest years later, he tried to commit suicide on many occasions. He tried to overdose, hang himself, crash his car as well as a few other ingenious attempts, but the only thing he succeeded in doing was spending time in a mental institution on 21 different occasions.

The first victim that suffered by Gary’s hand was the sister of his girlfriend who had the mental capabilities of a toddler. The couple visited the girl in a mental hospital and got permission to take her out for the day. When they did not return, the institution notified the police. They found the girl’s body in Gary’s basement raped and sodomized. During his four years in prison, Gary handed a note to one of the guards saying that the devil shoved a cookie down his throat and he could not speak. For two and a half years, Gary never said a word.

After his prison sentence, he married a mail order bride and they had a son but his wife soon left him because of his bizarre behavior. Now Gary came up with a “brilliant” plan. He decided to make his own personal baby-making factory. The plan was to kidnap 10 women and impregnate them. His basement was a perfect choice and after arranging it to his satisfaction, he started his collection of choice subjects. His first victim was a part time prostitute. He picked her up, had sex with her and then forced her into the basement where he chained her to a pipe. It did not take long before he had seven women chained in the basement. Beating, raping and torturing them several times a day seemed to give him a lust for more devious means of torture. He subjected the women to shock therapy and stuck screwdrivers into their ears. The second woman he kidnapped eventually died after hanging by her wrists for a week. Gary used a power saw to dismember her body. After cooking her flesh he mixed it with dog food and fed it to his victims. Three months later his first subject somehow escaped and found her way to her boyfriends home. Her boyfriend was surprised to see her after such a long time but the way she looked shocked him to the core. He called the police who found it difficult to believe her story but looked into it just in case. What they found, they would not forget in a hurry. Gary died by lethal injection.

The public in general may ask accusingly, “How did the Psychiatrist not recognize the problem?” but the human mind has been studied for centuries and even though there have been a few small breakthroughs in understanding it, it remains a mystery. No matter how long a Psychiatrist has studied the mysteries of the human mind, a patient can still pull the wool over his/her eyes. This was the case with Edmund Kemper.

Ed was born into a dysfunctional family. His parents constantly fought with each other until they eventually divorced when Ed was 9 years old. His mother was very strict woman who often brutally punished Ed for the smallest offense. Afraid that Ed, who was growing very tall and strong, would molest his two sisters his mother locked him the basement for days. Hate for his mother grew stronger every day and he had fantasies of killing her. One of his favorite games was to pretend that he was in a gas chamber with his two sisters. An insecure, frightened little boy, Ed kept to himself with devious thoughts running through his head. One day he buried the family cat up to its neck, cutting its head off too keep in his room as a trophy. His mom replaced the cat so Ed promptly chopped the cat into little pieces and hid the pieces in his closet. Eventually when Ed was 13 years old, his mom could not handle him anymore and he went to live with his grandparents. As much as he hated his mother, he hated his grandmother. During a terrible argument between Ed and his grandmother, Ed shot her in the back of the head. While waiting for his grandfather to return from the store he mutilated his grandmother’s body with a kitchen knife. When his grandfather arrived home, he shot him and left his body in the yard. Cool as a cucumber the 14 year old called his mother, then called the police and told them that he wanted to know how it would feel to kill “Grandma” so he killed her. He spent the next seven years in a State mental hospital. After he convinced the State Psychiatrists that he was sane, the state released him into his mother’s care. Some of the Psychiatrists advised against this decision knowing the problems between mother and son.

Standing 6foot 9inches tall and weighing 300 pounds with an IQ of over 120 and a violent temper, Ed was a formidable character. After screaming arguments with his mother, Ed would go out and look for a hitchhiker that resembled his mother. He took them to a deserted area, stabbed, shot or smothered them to death. Then he would take the corpse back to his room to dissect it. After performing sexual acts with the body parts, he ate them (to assure that his victim would become a part of him). According to Ed, his personal proud achievement was when his psychiatrist came to his home for a session. The session went extremely well and the psychiatrist closed the file on Ed stating that he was no longer a threat to himself or others. Just outside in the trunk of the car was the severed head of a 15 year old boy.

With a disturbed, violent, giant like son, Ed’s mother should have known better than to taunt Ed to the point of no return. She continually abused him verbally, and he in return became obsessed with his fantasy of killing her. The young man of 25 years old gave into his desire to kill his mother and while she was asleep I in her bed, crushed her skull with a hammer, masturbated in her mouth, dismembered her body and cut off her hand. He tried to run her larynx through the garbage disposal but it was jammed so he threw it back at her. When asked about this he said, “Even when she’s dead she was still bitching at me. I couldn’t get her to shut up.” At last his mother was silenced but he wanted to make it a little more exciting so he invited his mother’s friend for supper. When she arrived Ed strangled her, cut off her head and left her body in his bed while he slept in his mother’s bed. The next morning he drove east, listening to the radio for news of the two dead bodies. A few days later he could not cope with the fact that the bodies were still not discovered so he called the police. Trying to convince the police that his confession was true, proved to be a hard task Eventually Ed was arrested and confessed to all the murders, necrophilia, and cannibalism but pleaded not guilty due to insanity. He pleaded for the death sentence but received life imprisonment with the possibility of parole. Ed is still alive and serving his sentence in Folsom Prison.

Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, a gruesome duo, used young children for their pleasure. Ian was born to a single mother who had to leave him in the care of a baby sitter for long periods while she worked as a waitress. Eventually when he was 4 months old she gave him up for unofficial adoption but continued to visit him until he was 12 years old. He never knew who his father was and his illegitimacy was something that he could not come to terms with. Ian was fascinated with Nazi Germany, Nazi pageantry and Nazi symbolism and later on developed an unhealthy interest in cruelty and torture. He believed he was a superior creature who had the right to do as he pleased with weaker humans. Myra lived with her grandmother but had an abusive alcoholic father who brutally beat her. It is believed that he also abused Myra’s mother. She was a responsible and polite young lady who was in great demand as a baby sitter. When she was 15 years old her closest friend drowned in a reservoir. She blamed herself for his death believing that if she were allowed to go with him that day she could have saved him because she was a strong swimmer. Her friends drowning affected her deeply and she turned to the Roman Catholic religion for refuge, neglecting her school work. Every day, for months on end, she would light candles for her friend and cry bitterly.

The two worked at the same company and when they met Myra was immediately attracted to him, but Ian kept her at a distance, acting cold and uninterested towards her. For a year Myra continued to try and gain his attention when at last at a party a drunk Ian asked her out. It became a dominant, submissive relationship. Ian converted Myra to his way of thinking. She stopped going to church, changed her appearance to suit him, and believed everything he told her was the gospel truth. She allowed him to take pornographic pictures of her and of the two of them acting out sadomasochistic fantasies. She also agreed to robbing banks with him although this never materialized.

The need to satisfy his sexual desires overtook any ideas of bank robberies and Ian was totally at ease with his control over Myra so he embarked on his ultimate fantasy. He used Myra to lure children into his fatal web. Their first victim was a 16 year old girl. Myra enticed her into their minivan and drove to the Moors with Ian following on his motor cycle. She asked the young girl to help her search for her glove and while intent on looking for the glove, Ian pounced on her and raped her with Myra looking on. After he had done raping her he smashed her skull and cut her throat then buried her body in the Moors with Myra’s help. Their second victim, a 12 year old boy, was also raped. Ian tried to stab him with a knife but the knife was blunt so he strangled the child with a piece of string and buried his body in a shallow grave on the Moors. The third victim, another boy of 12 years old met the same fate.

The three Ian killed so far was too quick and easy for him so his next victim, a 10 year old girl, he took his time. He tied her up and gagged her, after taking all her clothes off. Then he raped and tortured her while Myra recorded the event on audio tape. The more she pleaded for her life and screamed in pain the more Ian was enjoying himself. Myra found great pleasure in what Ian was doing because firstly she hated children and secondly she was pleasing Ian. The young girl eventually died and they once again buried the body in a shallow grave on the Moors.

Ian’s control over Myra was so complete that he believed he was invincible and Myra’s 18 year old brother-in-law (David Smith) would follow him as blindly as Myra did. A mistaken thought that led to Ian and Myra’s arrest. Ian and Myra enticed a 17 year old boy from the railway station to their home. David was visiting at the time. Ian crept up on the young man and bashed his head in with an axe. He ordered Smith to help him carry the corpse and tie it up so he could dispose of it. Smith went along with the plan hoping he would find a gap to escape. As soon as he could he escaped, ran home and contacted the police.

Ian was sentenced to three life imprisonments while Myra got two life imprisonments. Ian’s mental state was rapidly deteriorating and eventually he was declared criminally insane and sent to a secure psychiatric hospital.

By now, Jack the Ripper must surely be dead if you take into consideration that his murders were committed in the year 1888. The Zodiac Killer, on the other hand could still be alive, lurking in the darkness waiting to strike again. The nightmare started in the late 1960’s and the monster in the nightmare remains free to terrorize again.

Any murder is shocking but when it involves torture, dismembering, necrophilia, cannibalism and other gruesome acts it becomes horrendous. The idea that anyone could inflict such atrocities on a fellow human being is beyond any sane explanation. The Zodiac Killer did not commit any of the gruesome acts. His victims were not only those he killed, he paralyzed a whole nation with fear.

Unlike most serial killers who try to evade the law, the Zodiac Killer played the police like his own personal puppets. When reading about him it becomes obvious that his murders were not nearly as mind bogging as his phone calls and letters. A motorist found the dead bodies of a couple of teenagers in a place called Lover’s Lane. A few months later, the police were still investigating the crime when they received an anonymous phone call. It was short and to the point. The caller led the police to the bodies of another teenage couple. He told the police they would find the bodies in a brown car, pinpointing the exact area, and what gun what used to kill them. He ended the call saying, “I also killed those kids last year. Goodbye.”

As expected, the police decided not to inform the public about the call. It would only cause a panic. The Zodiac Killer was not too pleased about their decision so he sent a hand written letter to three different newspapers. In each letter, he explained the previous killings in detail and explained that the symbol in the letter was a clue to his identity. He also gave a warning that if they did not print the letter within a given time he would go on a killing rampage, killing 12 people before the weekend was over. He signed the letter with a symbol. According to the Zodiac Killer, he enjoyed killing and he could not give his name because they would try to slow down his process of collecting slaves for his afterlife. The newspapers had no choice but to print his letters.

The hunt was on. After each killing, he would notify the police or the newspapers always signing his letters with the symbol. Three young witnesses watched as the Zodiac shot a cab driver in the temple. They called the police who believed that the cab driver was the victim of a routine robbery. That is until they received a letter from the Zodiac killer. A cold chill ran through the veins of the law defenders when they read, “School children make nice targets I think I shall wipe out a school bus some morning just shoot out the front tire + pick off the kiddies as they come bouncing out.” Patrol cars and aircrafts followed the buses to and from the schools. The police were in full force. Then they received another letter showing diagrams of bombs that the Zodiac planned to plant along the bus routes. The police were in a frenzy to find the bombs, keep the children safe and catch the perpetrator. The public in general, were in constant fear looking to the police to solve this madness. What was worse for the police was the Zodiac Killer taunted the police. He called them saying, “The police shall never catch me because I have been too clever for them.” Eventually he was getting tired of his inferior competition and wrote,” If the Blue Pigs are ever going to catch me they had best get off their fat asses + do something” He demanded that the police wear buttons showing his symbol and when they did not comply, he punished them by shooting a man sitting in his car.

The story of the Zodiac killer goes on and on but the point I want to make is that he ruled a country with a nightmare of fear, horror and hopelessness. Psychiatrists rate serial killers according to the severity of their crime. What is worse I wonder? Is it torture, necrophilia, dismembering a dead body and eating it or shooting people randomly and setting the wheel of total fear in the hearts of thousands?
