A death on the mountain where Sister lived was much different from now. We go during visiting hours to the funeral home for visitation with the bereaved family. But on the mountain there is a setting up for two nights. The women keep food on the table while groups change out to sit with the corpse. Stories are told about old times and children play.

We all encounter various "types" of neighbors. Are you the party animal?? The chronic trespasser???..etc..

This is a look at what we expect, anticipate and what we don’t think is going to happen. This is a taste of goodness, neighborliness and the joy of treasuring those around us.

The idea of helping others is something that some of us would love to do. But, some of us don’t know where to start.

They are your neighbors, your family and your friends, and they don’t belong here. They have enjoyed the benefit of unions, the protection of the Fire and Police Departments, they have teachers and nurses, and military men who have become an inconvenience, and a deficit.

Saturday is the end of the week and the beginning of the weekend.
I think of it as a day to be just lazy enough to start wanting to do some more work again.

How does one make friends with the neighbors? Is it hard to do? Not at all! Let me tell you how.
