Dick Clark well known for the New Year's Eve "Ball Drop" in Times Square in N.Y.C. died from a massive heart attack.

                                                                                                                                  April 18, 2012

One of the biggest legends in his own time has passed away today of a massive heart attack. He was known for the American Band Stand Show back in the 50’s, and he hosted it until 1989, it was one of the longest variety show on television. He had the pleasure of standing side by side with some of the greatest artists of music, like Elvis, Janis Joplin, and always wished he had the chance to work with “The Beatles”. And you may also remember the $25,000 Pyramid, or TV’s Bloopers & Practical Jokes, and the AMA’s. He was a fantastic host of any show he did.

And the all time favorite memory of Dick Clark, is the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, in Times Square, NYC every year counting down for the New Year and the ball to drop. Dick Clark started hosting the New Year’s celebration in 1972, and went on to host it for 30 years, until 2004 when he had a stroke, and was paralyzed and unable to speak. Regis Philbin stood in the following year 2005, and then it was turned over to Ryan Seacrest, who had started co-hosting in 2004.

In 2006 after a long struggle of exercise and therapy, Dick Clark returned to the New Year’s Rockin Eve, with Ryan Seacrest doing the hosting throughout the show, and at the very end Dick Clark would join him and start the ‘countdown’ of the New Year.

Dick Clark was always known as the man who never aged, he was known as the “World’s Oldest Teenager.” He will truely be missed by millions who grew up with him through the years.

Dick Clark from Mount Vernon N.Y. was survived by his 3rd wife who he had been married to since 1977, and his 3 children. Dick Clark was a true legend in his own time, R.I.P. we know you’ll be playing some good vinyls where you are now, and have the place ‘rockin’.

Dinner for one is the story about an upper class senior citizen who hosts a dinner for her friends each year. Its popularity perhaps has to do with senior sex, a nutty old lady and lots of drinking.

There is no Dick Clark rocking New Years eve celebration in Germany, instead, it is customary to watch a television show “dinner for one” or Der 90 Geburtstag (The 90th Birthday) This obscene British comedy skit has made the Guinness Book of World records as the most repeated television show ever. Dinner for one has become a strange New year’s custom in Germany.

How did it come about that a 1963 British skit has become the preferred way to ring in the New Year by half the German population? Well perhaps it has something to do with the senior sex, a nutty old lady and lots of drinking. It is felt that the drinking is used as a backdrop for the playing of a drinking game on New Yeas eve. Nothing says Happy New Year in quite the same way as this does.

The show was introduced to Germany by a German entertainer, Peter Frankenfield in 1962. After discovering Dinner for one in England , he had the sketch performed live on his TV show in Germany. The black and white version of the skit played on New Year’s eve was recorded from a live performance in Hamburg in 1963. While the skit was played regularly on German networks, it really became a New Year’s eve fixture in 1972.

Dinner for one is the story about an upper class senior citizen who hosts a dinner for her friends each year. For her 90th birthday she has outlived her friends and her manservant has to play the role of all her friends by pretending to serve them individually and drink the spirits put before them. The catch phrase is “The same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie?” To which she responds “The same procedure every year James”.

As the dinner progresses and with each drink and cheer, James the butler becomes increasingly drunk and his antics get funnier as he tries to stay focused on the task at hand and steady on his feet. When the dinner is over, Miss Sophie indicates she wants to go to bed and an intoxicated asks, “The same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie? She happily responds, “The same procedure as every year, James!” To which James winks and says, “Well, I’ll do my very best!” as they head to the bedroom.

The show has also grown in popularity in other European countries but it remains a strange New Year tradition in Germany.

This is a blurb about how no matter how hard a lot of us try, not all of us, but many of us try we make the new year resolution and fail. Why do we fail?

Okay, everyone know at midnight New Year’s Eve you break in teh New Year by making a resolution to fix something in life that is messed up or could some minor adjustments. Most popular are: eat better, lose weight, be nicer, or something random. I, myself am culprit to the eat better, lose weight, and make me a better person blurby resolution. For the first few months I am determined to make my resolution come true. As the months go on, the resolution takes the back burner and is dismissed by the end of the year. Then next New Year you are kicking yourself or feeling silly when a friend says their resolution came true. You ask them how they did it and you get a range of reasons to support, will power, or something else.

So why is it that we fail at our resolutions?! Well, I have a guess that is based off my own experience with them. However considering every person is not exactly alike, which is our birth right my experience won’t explain all!

To me, the reason most of us fail at our resolution is because we lack the will power in ourself to do it and keep with it. If that is not the case sometimes we just end up forgeting about it in the hustle bustle of our day to day life chaos.

Well, here is my advice to fix these problems. If you forget about it every year until the next new year, try writing it down. May I suggest to have it saved in as many reminding spots as possible. When you have it in multiple places make it a simple version to save your hand or printer ink! Like if your resolution was that you wanted to loose 10lbs a month, write it as 10lbs lost this month! Yes, the goal and drive to success is writing goals in the past tense as if you already completed it. Write down one thorough plan to your ways of acheiving this goal, don’t forget to write in past tense to make you feel the greatness of success so that you can get that energy drive from it. For example:

I worked out everyday for 10 minutes with this fun latino dance dvd for the warmup. Then I went for a walk/jog alternating the two to get my cardio pumped up. After that, I came home and divulged in a fruit and nut salad with only a little dressing and a bottle of water. By day 28 I had lost 12lbs, 2 lbs more than I expected and i was absolutely ecstatic about my success and treated myself to a lazy day at the end of every week. I worked out 6 days a week, alternating my exercise from muscle training, to dancing to fas tpaced music to feel the moves work my body, and just calm walks or jogs. I can definitely denote my success to the support of my fiancee and his encouragement daily. It helped me so much to have little notations all over my house.

See that would lead to success. Ok, no I have not done it this way yet. However I have used this method before and my goal was accomplished.

Now the other problem is low will power. Tell friends, your lover, and family about your goal and that you are afraid you will falter and not be successful. Ask them to help you get through it by contributing by either involving with the goal or moral support as you try. My fiancee is an awesome moral supporter for me. I am very critical about my work, especially art work. I can lose interest in my work if I am not thrilled with the results. So to help me keep trying and going, he often critiques me and tells me where I have done good and then makes a joke about where I messed up to teach me to laugh at my mistakes, instead of criticize myself. Moral support and anything to help your esteem will aid in your will power.

For example…let’s use the 10lb goal again: A friend could go jogging with you or do a dance routine video with or even be coach, a personal trainer type thing. Your friends know your limits and know when you are quitting to easy just to give up because it is too hard. So trust me, they will drive you hard core! I had asked a friend one year to help me and for three months straight every day after school we went for walks. Then school work and our personal life got in the way and it fell through. But in that time I had lost 8lbs! But when I quit and stopped caring about my body I gained it back with bad old habits.

So good luck this new year on success to your resolutions!

Germany's strange new years eve custom.

There is no Dick Clark Rocking New Years must watch for people in Germany on New Year’s Eve, instead it is customary to watch a televison show “Dinner for One” or Der 90 Geburtstag (The 90th Birthday) This comedic British skit has made the guinness Book of World records as the most regularly repeated television show ever. Of course it would be if millions watched the same skit each New Year’s Eve. That cerainly would not go over well in North America.

How did it come about that a 1963 British skit has become the preferred way to ring in the New Year by half the German population? Well perhaps it has something to do with the undertones of senior sex, a nutty old lady and lots of drinking. Nothing says Happy New Year in quite the same way as this does and it if believed that the Germans play along with the drinking as it onfolds on the show, something like a drinking game.

The show was introduced to Germany by a German entertainer, Peter frankenfield in 1962. After discovering Dinner for One in England, he had the sketch performed live on his TV show in Germany. The black and white version of the skit played in homes and bars on New Year’s eve was recorded at a live performance in Hamburg in 1963.While the skit was played regularly on German networks, it really became a New Year’s Eve fixture in 1972.

Dinner for One is the story about an upper class senior citizen who hosts a dinner for her friends each year. For her 90th birthday she has outlived her friends and her manservant has to play the role of all her friends by pretending to serve them individually and drink the spirits put before them. The catch phrase is “The same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie? to which she responds “The same procedure every year James”.

As the dinner progresses and with each drink and cheer, James the buttler becomes increasingly drunk and his antics get more bizarre. When the dinner is over, Miss Sophie indicates she wants to go to bed and an intoxicated James responds “The same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie? She happily responds, “The same procedure as every year, James! To which James winks and says, “Well, I’ll do my very best!

The show has also grown in popularity in other European countries but it remains a strange New Year tradition in Germany.

2012 brings in a new year and countless new articles; here’s a brief piece on triond and my insight and advice to all current and new members.

I signed up on triond because a friend of mine boasted about this website and the earnings he was receiving every month. However, it was not until this year that I have been able to spend some time publishing many more articles and interacting with the triond community. I have noticed that many triond users somehow create a constant stream of random articles that is physically impossible and are rewarded with many thousands of views and monthly awards. Then there are the users who are human and create their own work however it seems to be cheap material, such a very short article on material that is in no way noteworthy. Then there are those who are truly committed and produce literary pieces that note only have effort etched in the words themselves, but one can also see the talent flowing through the piece, whether it’s an informative article or a creative work. It is no secret that all users have signed up on triond for some monetary gain for their creative contribution; however, I find it important not to lose the value of writing in an effort to achieve more views and earnings. So go ahead and create; but remember that we are a community of individuals on a mission to put our time, effort, and love of writing into our published material for the benefit of the world to read, and consequently we get rewarded with monetary gain. Just don’t lose focus of the mission…

Happy New Year. May you all find some success in your literary endeavors.

December thirty first is the last day of the year and it is the last day for many things. Many things that are done today will not be done in the same way in 2012.

There are many babies that will be born on today and some will not be here on tomorrow. There are some people who are in the world today that will not be here tomorrow. There are some prices on material things that won’t be the same on tomorrow. A one second after 12 midnight, This year will change from 2011 to 2012. It will be tomorrow. Oh the horns, beating of drums, the singing of Aul Lang Syne, the Night Watch Services, the New Years Eve Parties, and the sad farewells will be things of the past. Some people will just be another day older and deeper in debt because their outgo for the Christmas Holidays was more than their income.

Tomorrow those who were born on December thirtyfirst will a year plder and if you’re still here on your birthday you will be a year older. Some people will see things that they never saw in 2011. Some people will go places where they have never been. Some people will do things they tought they would never do and some people who have been born in this world will be born again.

Tomorrow some will have bright hopes for their sons and daughters and there chances for success. Others will still be without hope wallowing in doubt and dispair. Still others will sing the well worn song of “I’m trying to find myself!”

Yes Tomorrow, even I’ll think about all my tomorrows as I journey on toward my promised joy. I thank my God through my Lord Christ Jesus I have come to the end of another year. So if I arise up from my slumbering night on tomorrow morning in 2012, truly I will wake up with my mind “stayed on Jesus.” He means more to me now than this old world can offer me.”

Have A HAPPY NEW YEAR! God loves you and so do I!

There has long been a tradition (in some cities) of shooting in the New Year. At midnight, Dec 31, the men would take their pistols, shotguns, etc, aim toward the skys and shoot. (New Year comes in with a bang.) The problem is that no one pays attention to where the bullets go.

With all the violence around, why not let the old year end and the new one come in peacefully?

Families get together, friends head out to the nightclubs, all with the idea of celebrating. The food is abundant, the drinks flow, the music is loud. Suddenly, it’s midnight, the champagne flows more. out come the guns. It’s bad enough that the parties end with people loaded with liquor, get behind the wheel of their vehicles, turning them into dangerous weapons. People head toward home dodging bullets and drunk drivers.

                                                    Here Comes 2012

When New Years Eve comes around each year, we celebrate with parties and letting off fireworks. We raise up our glass and toast the future, forgetting all the grimness of the past year such as rising fuel prices, poor economy, and unemployment. We are full of hope that things can only get better.

The sad lady who desperately wants a child, fervently hopes that 2012 will be the year she gets pregnant. What about the poor man who is suffering from cancer, and only has months to live.? Can 2012 bring a cure for him? Then there are the people who lose their homes and families in natural disasters. Let’s hope that 2012 will be the year they can try to rebuild their lives.

Spare a thought for the dogs and cats who were christmas presents, cuelly abandoned when it became obvious that they needed proper care and attention. In fact any animal that is cruelly treated, let’s hope it will enjoy a proper life in 2012 with people who care about it.

My heart goes out to the old and vulnerable, some of them are alone, even at Christmas, so I hope that 2012 will bring them friendship to enrich their lives. Last but certainly not least, those people who cause wars, who love to die for a cause, those who bear grudges, and are full of fuelled driven hate. May they find love, because if wars cease, world future will be secure. Or am I asking for too much.?

I am very lucky to have the love of my family and friends, and have nothing to grumble about. So as we approach 2012, I want to spend a moment thinking of those who are not so fortunate for one reason or another.

God bless , and a Happy New Year to everyone, may all your dreams come true in 2012.
