Organization Survival International has published photographs showing Mashco-Piro tribe living in the Manu National Park, southeastern In Peru.

This supports the little tribe of peaceful contact with the outside world, but it is observed more frequently.

Survival International claims that the oil and gas projects as well as changes in the illegal logging, this tribe is forced to retreat to new lands.

Of the photographs seems to Mashco-Piro tribe as if trying to tell people that they would leave her alone.

“The recent increase in the number of conflicts and violence against foreign people to their ancestral land,” – “BBC News, said the organization’s spokeswoman Rebecca Spooner.

During the recent conflict between tribal deadly arrows killed Nicolas Flores, also known as “references for SHAC – another tribe member, and two decades of trying to establish formal contacts with Mashco-Piro.

The above photographs of the Spanish archaeologist Diego Cortijo made from a respectful distance of 120 m, made use of a telescopic lens. This is the most detailed images ever captured these tribes no contact.

Mr Spooner said that the increase in violence can be reduced while preserving local traditional tribal lands.

The U.S. intelligence agencies believe that Iran wants to attack the U.S. might on American soil. In a hearing before the Senate Topspion the next few years, known as "critical transition".

The religious leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during a military maneuver

The most dangerous animal is one that is driven into a corner – and that applies to the U.S. intelligence estimate for Iran. In testimony before the Senate, said U.S. Secret Service Director James Clapper, the Ahmadinejad regime was willing to commit terrorist attacks on American soil, it should be different from the U.S. and its allies feel threatened.

The last year uncovered conspiracy to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington stand for a new aggressive willingness within the Tehran leadership to launch attacks against the United States, Clapper told the Intelligence Committee. In the hearing focused on the question of how U.S. intelligence assessed the global threat. The assessment is given every year, this time it was the first report on the killing of al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden early May 2011.

CIA worried about conspiracies

The plot against the ambassador shows “that some Iranian official – including probably the head of state Khamenei – have changed their calculations and now more willing to perform an attack in the U.S. in response to actual or alleged acts that threaten the regime,” said Clapper . “We are also concerned that Iran could forge plots against the United States and allied facilities overseas.”

According to the “Washington Post” Clapper wants but avoid a military confrontation with Iran as possible. Instead, should the pressure on the regime through sanctions be increased still further. “Our hope is that the sanctions cause the beginning of a change in Iranian policy, which affects their apparent quest for nuclear capability,” the newspaper quoted the director of national intelligence.

Significance of Al Qaeda in Yemen grows

Next Clapper said that killing bin Laden and other shocks would reduce the operational significance of the “core” of Al Qaeda. The next two to three years were for the United States regarding the terrorist threat therefore a “critical transition”. The intelligence community expected at this time a more “decentralization” and “fragmentation”, which blows small-scale regional groups more likely to make as large with the aim of mass casualties. Most likely be just as before, that attacks against international targets by al-Qaeda in Yemen arm went out, even though its attack capability was temporarily weakened by the killing of hate preacher Anwar Awlaki last year.

The EU had finally agreed on an oil embargo against Iran. The Ahmadinejad regime threatens again and again trying to block the Strait of Hormuz – much to the chagrin of President Obama. Although some observers believe that large of a bluff, the U.S. had expressed concern and also respond militarily. Apparently there are even plans for a new super-bomb. The talks with a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA, Iran on Tuesday praised, however.

ERepublik is a massively multiplayer online game, social networking and strategy web browser game developed by eRepublik Labs which launched on October 21, 2008 and is accessible via the Internet. The game is set in a mirror world (called the New World) where players, referred to as citizens, join in local and national politics, set economic policy, start businesses and wage wars with other countries.

HOW TO PLAY EREPUBLIC

I published this article some months ago to decent reception. Since I am noticing a spike in the USA’s population, I believe there are a bunch of new players who need to get an education on the fundamentals. So, in support of our little baby boom, I’m bringing this up out of the archives to assist all our new citizens in the basics of eRepublik.

THIS GAME IS ALL WORK-TRAIN-EAT, RIGHT?

Well, yes and no. You do work, train, and all that every day, but that it is not the true depth of the game. eRepublik is community based, so if you do not participate in the greater community, you will not experience the full extent of this games entertainment value. While the Official Forums are an interesting part of the community, they are the domain of trolls (much like an image board) and very rarely have an impact on the game outside providing memes.

JOBS

As a new player, you are starting out with 0 skill in all three job abilities, Manufacturing, Construction, and Land Working. Manufacturers do the bread and butter work, they make the guns, gifts, moving tickets and food. You’ll find most citizens fill this role, and most available jobs will be manufacturing work. The other role is in Land Working, where the raw materials (Oil, Iron, Grain, Diamonds and Wood) are harvested. Due to lower amount of Land Workers, pay is slightly higher but jobs are also scarcer. The final skill set is Construction, which is the manufacturing of Hospitals, Defense systems, and Houses. Presently, only Housing is an industry that is making money, though high ranking Construction work can be among the most well paid in the game, but that is relative to the demand for housing. The other two construction commodities are run out through Government scut work and are primarily volunteer basis only.

FINDING A JOB

As a skill 0, you will not be able to apply for any of the really sweet job offers for high skilled workers (so set your job hunting filter accordingly). As a low ranked player, it is highly recommended you do not work for any 2 star or more ranked company until you reach level 5. Each star indicates how much wellness you will lose when you work. If your employer is a 5 star company, you will lose 5 health every time you work, and without access to decent food and the battles you will soon die. Chances are, if a high star rated job offering was even available for low skilled players, it’s a trap put in place by our enemies designed to do exactly that – kill you. Once you reach level 5 and can participate in wars, your wellness will be assured and you can start looking at higher skilled jobs for better pay.

If no jobs at skill 0 are available, the government does run skill 0 job hubs. The best know hub is Fort Harlot for Manufacturing, though use this as a last resort.

MY COMPANY WILL NOT PAY ME

Easily fixed. Click the big red “RESIGN” button and find a new job if you are unwilling to wait for the employer to fix the supply issues.

NEWS

Another thing to do is subscribe to various Newspapers so you can learn about what is going on. This will link new articles to your Subscriptions tab in your Private Message Inbox (click the green icon below your avatar to view them).

Obviously, subscribe to this paper : ). Additional useful subscriptions are

WAR

Wars begin in eRepublik when either the Congress declares war, or a country our nation is allied with is attacked. The actual attacking is ordered by the respective Presidents. This can result in a situation where two countries are at war, but not actively fighting as neither President has “pushed the button” in order to initiative a battle.

THE BATTLES MAKE NO SENSE

This is the basic result of the War Module, the battle. The country on the Left is attempting to conquer the indicated territory. The Country on the Right is attempting to prevent it. If the red area is in the No Mans Land, the country on the Right will be the winner. If the red area is in the Underground, the country on the Left will be the winner. This is decided when the timer hits 00:00:00. If the red area is between No Mans Land or the Underground, the battle goes into sudden death and the first country to force the red area to their respective target wins. Moving the red area is accomplished by fighting. If you are the attacker, you will subtract points based on your damage when you fight. If you are the defender you add points based on your damage.

WHAT IS A TANK

A Tank is a high ranked player. They are given gold and weapons by their countries government to maximize their damage potential. 1 Tanking player fully funded has the potential to cause more the 30,000 points in damage. When you get a whole bunch of these players together, more then 200,000 points of damage can be done in the space of a few minutes, leading to “wall flipping” where a previously large barrier of damage points suddenly disappears.

SO THEN, MY DAMAGE DOES NOT MATTER

Actually, no. There are 21,000 US Citizens presently, but only a few dozen tanks. In the long run, the general citizenry can cause more damage. The Tanks only come out at the end to claim the victory. If they do not have the support of every low ranked player, the enemy may be too entrenched for them to claim a victory. Due to the linear nature of the game, if you stick around long enough you too will be considered a “Tank” compared to the other newer citizens.

HOW DO I FIGHT

Chances are, you have been born into a state without a Hospital (an absolute necessity for fighting). DO NOT FIGHT IF YOU HAVE NO HOSPITAL IN YOUR STATE. The only States with hospitals in the USA are California and Florida. To move to those states, you need a moving ticket. If you do not have the money for one, just ask for help in the proper forum on the eUSA Forums I posted at the top of the article, or in the #USA-Chat IRC room.

Other requirements for fighting are being level 5, and having 40 wellness. Fighting is good, because once you have fought, you can then go to the Hospital and gain 50 wellness (if it is a Q5, which both of our Hospitals are). If you are below 40 wellness, again, simply ask for help on the eUSA Chat room or Discussion Board. When I was level 5, I was helped in a similar manner.

I APPLIED FOR THE MILITARY, BUT THEY ARE IGNORING ME

The eUSA Armed Forces are Government funded. To insure that your tax dollars are wisely spent, they have strength and activity requirements. As a new player, it is unlikely that you will be accepted into the Army, Airborne, MI or Marine Corps. The Training Division does exist to help New Players, and if you plan on being an active player, this could be a place for you.

WHAT IS PEACE, EDEN, BROLLIANCE etc

These are all terms used to describe different groups of countries. PEACE is a former military alliance of nations that have been at war with the USA to some degree or another. EDEN is the principle alliance of nations that fought PEACE, while the Brolliance is the formal military and political pact between the USA and Canada

And this concludes Basic Game Play. More advanced concepts will be described here

WAR MODULE

The War Module explanations are many and varied, but they are also overly complicated. This is the quick nitty gritty, with terms explained.

INITIATIVE: The Country that is allowed to attack has “Initiative”. A Country does not have initiative (and therefore cannot attack) if..

1. It is defending a territory anywhere on the globe

2. Lost a battle in the last 24 hours.

Those are the two basic rules of Initiative. But they are subject to an exception.

Exception to Rule 2: If a country is attacking Province A when it loses a battle in Province B, initiative is not lost, provided they win in Province A. If they seem to be about to lose Province A, the President can still attack Province C before the battle in Province A ends, and thus preserve initiative. However, if the last open battle closes and no attacks have been won or started, initiative is lost for 24 hours. Additionally, a President cannot attack the same province twice in a 24 hour period.

RETREAT: Retreat can occur in the first 6 hours of a battle. The rules of Retreat are

1. If the attacker retreats, there is no penalty

2. If the defender retreats, initiative is lost for 24 hours in the particular war that the battle was open in. The defender can gain initiative in a different war provided they are not under attack anywhere else.

3. If the defender retreats a battle and then wins another defensive battle (in that order) initiative is gained, and the attacking country cannot attack for 24 hours.

Rule 3 was used by the USA to flip Russia’s initiative and started the final campaign of the North American War.

INITIATIVE LOCK

This occurs when a country permanently loses initiative and cannot attack unless circumstances change. If you read the rules for Defending and Attacking you may have noticed that the attacking country has an amazing advantage. While a country could win a battle in one war, if they are attacked by another country through a different war anywhere in the world, they cannot attack themselves. This happened to the USA a few months back when we were attacked through 3 separate declared wars by Portugal, Russia and Indonesia. We could win every battle against Indonesia and Russia, but not be able to counterattack because we were still defending against Portugal. Just mix around the names as needed and you get the general idea. Initiative Lock can also happen if there are many territories that can be attacked. Canada was able to prevent Hungary from attacking for weeks during the North American war using this method. While Hungary won almost every battle, they were unable to attack because Canada has always made sure to launch a new attack before an old one has closed.

MPP

Stands for Mutual Protection Pact. An MPP activates when a hostile country attacks a home region of another country with MPP’s. This allows citizens of an Allied country to directly participate in a foreign war without having to move to the belligerent country. The MPP’s are represented on the battlefield in the “Allies” list underneath the belligerent’s flags.

PRESIDENCY

The President of any country has awesome powers in eRepublik, because he is the sole deciding vote on whether to attack, or retreat. At a fundamental level, the War Module is a game of chess between Presidents. This is why a President is almost always a senior player. The President must have a deep understanding of all the game rules, and also be able to come on eRepublik at weird times to make sure everything goes according to plan. The President of Colombia contributed greatly to PEACE GC’s defeat in North America because he was unable to meet the time commitments. Additionally, the President is the chief executive of the eUSA’s government agencies (yes, we got those too) and this requires a great deal of effort. Being the President in the eRepublik is much like in real life and is not for the casual player.

CONGRESS

Congressional elections are held once every month. You do not need to be physically present in the state you wish to represent as a Senator in order to run for office. All that is required is that you register in that state as a candidate before moving back to the hospital region. Furthermore, people who wish to vote for you must also do so in the state. The end result is that most Senators are elected by a few votes, or even win by the fact that nobody else ran in the state. In short, if you have 2 good buddies, chances are you can become a Senator. Unlike the Presidency, it’s a simple matter for a citizen to become a Senator, though it is always advised you get your parties official stamp of approval before you run. To do this, you must become active on your political parties Forum and IRC channel room. To find these out, simply check the Wiki page for the party you are in. Also keep in mind that only the top 5 political parties can front congressional candidates. If you do happen to get elected, remember that this will require your activity in the Congressional forums, and that you will have to follow the procedural rules of Congress. eAmerican Government in many respects resembles the real thing, and a brand new Senator will have to work at developing his or her credentials.

That pretty much covers things for now, if anyone has any questions feel free to send me a PM.

Movie Review for Underworld Awakening (2012)

As a fan of the Underworld films, I was not in the least bit disappointed by the latest output of the franchise, Underworld Awakening. Not only is the film loyal to the characters and plot of the first two films, expanding upon the growing mythology and storyline, but it is also an added perk to see real vampires and werewolves ripping each other apart in movies again.

What began in the first film as a battle solely between Vampires and Lycan has now evolved into a fight for both species’ survival when humans discover their existence and decide (very un-True Blood like) that eradication is the only solution. Kate Beckinsale returns once again as Selene, our heroin from the first two films. She begins the movie with an onslaught of unique battle scenes, fleeing from the human aggressors, and clever camera angles that are nicely complimented by the 3D experience. After a brief memory blurb, explaining the details of the new state of mortal paranoia, she is caught by the pesky humans and finds herself twelve years later in a research facility being subjected to experimentation.

Of course, with unknown help, Selene quickly escapes and proceeds into an unfamiliar world that she must adapt in, where her species no longer lives in luxury and safety. Equipped with the added strength she had gained in Evolution, from Alexander Corvinus, she quickly shows that she has grown from the naïve Death Dealer from the first film into a strong not easily eclipsed character. (Eat your heart out Bella Swan… even when you do become a vampire).

Selene must attempt to discover what has happened to Michael in the time she has laid dormant and she finds that she is not the only thing experimented on within the facility she broke free from. With most of the characters from the original films long since fully deceased, a new set of allies and enemies are presented to fill their shoes.

If I had a complaint about the movie, it would lie in the unperfected CGI effects, but (for me) they were not too distracting. Overall, I fully recommend this film to someone who is either a fan of the original films or anyone who is sick to death of vampires that sparkle and werewolves who take their shirt off every five minutes without actually changing into a wolf.

There are lots of excuses but only one real reason why men cheat.

For as long as I can remember, men and their cheating ways have been the topic of many conversations and arguments amongst groups both large and small. I’ve heard men come up with excuse after excuse to justify their cheating . I’ve heard women come up with even more excuses than the men, often blaming themselves in the process. You may ask why I’m singling out men when we all know that women cheat as well. There’s a perfectly good explanation for that. It’s much easier to explain why men cheat. Women cheat for reasons that are far more complex and would require the length of a book or two as opposed to a simple article. I will not list all the things that we’ve all heard about men and why they cheat. I will not delve into the countless excuses and neither justify or dispute them. I will invite you to explore a much simpler way of looking at the topic and allow you to revert to your own life and experiences and see just how true and accurately it relates to your own life if you’re a man and the men you’ve loved if you’re a woman.

I know I’ve kept you waiting but you’ve already been waiting your entire life to find out why no matter how hard you try, you can’t stop cheating or no matter how good you look for or how well you treat your men, they can’t stop cheating. Many will try to argue that this truth is not complex enough to be accurate but this three letter word(not SEX) will explain why the cheating never seems to make sense. The word is “NEW”. Men often measure their success and worth by the number of new things they can aquire. They may not verbalize this fact but it is evident in everything they do. At each stage in a man’s life he must obtain new things to show the world that he has reached that next level, from clothing to jewelry, cars to houses. These are the new things that he’s willing to expose to everyone. The one new thing that he may choose to keep to himself or flaunt is aquired for a much deeper need than the approval and acknowledgment of others. It is aquired to affirm worthiness to himself. He needs it to remind him that he is still a man, that he is still the top dog, that he’s still got it(whatever it may be), and just simply that he can. He needs a new woman. He may love the one he’s with and that is most often the case. He may not even care much or anything at all for the woman he chooses to cheat with. He needs to deal with her because she is new. Men also have a hard time staying entertained by the same things that once entertained them very well. You say that’s not true. You can watch a man play the same video game everyday for an entire year and never seem to tire of it. That’s true but realize that a video game has many levels and each time he plays, he’s trying to get to the next level and aquire new tricks, awards, badges and tools. Once he has achieved everything he can with that game or done enough to call himself a good player, he will not be interested in it anymore. He will be looking for the next version or the later edition. He my even switch to an entirely different type of game altogether. That’s not to say he won’t ever play that old game again. Of course he will, he’s good at it.

The desire for new is so strong that a man will risk everything he has, loves and cherishes to have new. New doesn’t even have to be something he likes, respects or knows anything about. That is why we ask, “What is it that she has that I don’t?”, “Why would he be with someone like that? “, “What was he thinking?’. The answer to all of those questions and the ones like tham are…….because it’s NEW. By the way. if a man cheats with his ex, he still oves her and you are the new.

New is good, but let's not forget the old.

New, a word we use to describe this year. A new year with new goals and new wishes. New diets, new hairdos, new thoughts. New policies for work, for fun for … oh heck just new. New relationships, new employees, new employment. New restaurants, new recipes, new beer, new booze, new candy to try too. New, new, new…hmmmm this new could go on forever. New is a great thing, as with many great things too much of anything new is just that, too much.

Now I like new just like anyone else, it’s just we really make such a huge deal about NEW. Like new and improved, is it really improved or just redone to look like new. Another great use of new is the phrase “like new”. People there is no thing “like new”, it’s either new or it’s old…..period. Now there’s nothing wrong with old, old is great too. Like that old pair of jeans that fit perfectly and have been broken in just right. So why would I get new jeans if my old ones are still good? Oh that’s right, I’ve been told by television, magazines even the Internet that I need new. And if I can’t wait for new, I can get a new credit card and get it right now, so no need to wait, get new now!

To bring this back to now and about new and put it in perspective let’s start with this new year of 2012. A new year of new politics about changing the old and getting in new politicians. But really this isn’t new ,it’s not even improved, it is just the same old policies and politicians with new phrases and spin wisdom. An old electoral system that over rules the popular vote with the electoral college. What and why do we keep this old system? This would be a great place for the new, I could go on, but I won’t, I’ll just do the same old thing…watch CNN and complain and armchair quarterback about the system.

Now, a new thought would be to see if some of our old stuff is still good. Like our autos, maybe we just need to put some fresh tires on, maybe a paint job and clean the coffee stains off the seats. Get a tune up, hell I’m sure I could get one more year out of my paid for car instead of getting a new one. Not that I don’t want one, I just don’t need one.

Another new thought would be to really get to know my old friends, see them for all the great things that they bring to my life and how I could really be a better friend to them. I really should see how much of my old life is really filled with newness every day. Like the sunrise on the beach I always tell myself to get up and see, the love of my family which I get to enjoy everyday. Cause guess what?I might not get a new day, so why not enjoy the one i have. I could lament about the old times ,but really, by enjoying the new day and filling it with as much as we can, will give you and I even more great old times to remember.

Now new is really good, but remember to bring out some of the old and see the newness in it and enjoy.

Here’s to love, life and liquor and to all new, and old.

Danny the Bartender.

The Hunger Games series is the newest literary phenomenon.

We’ve had Harry Potter. We’ve had Twilight. Both of these are works of literature that took the charts by storm, and they were all anyone ever talked about. Now it’s time for them to step aside, and let The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins, take over.

Set in the near future, the Hunger Games spins a tale of a world torn asunder by war, leaving the nation of Panem, located in what used to be North America. Panem is split into twelve districts, all ruled by one harsh Capitol. The Capitol rules with an iron fist and shows no mercy, to make sure that no rebellions sprout up. To remind the citizens of the districts just how helpless they are, the Capitol hosts an annual Hunger Games, in which one boy and one girl are taken from each district, and all twenty four of them are pitted against each other in an arena, to see who comes out last.

The Hunger Games gives this story from the point of view of Katniss Everdeen, a 16 year old girl who volunteers herself to go into the Hunger Games when her little sister is selected. Katniss learns the cruelties of the Capitol in the Hunger Games arena, and an unbounding hatred for them is released inside of her. The trilogy is her story, and how she leads the rebellion that brings down the Capitol.

The Hunger Games is the perfect mix of everything: adventure, romance, tragedy, science-fiction; it easily appeals to everyone because the series is so diverse in what it offers. Just like the fantastic(or not-so-fantastic) predecessors, Harry Potter and Twilight, the Hunger Games is a series that can be read and understood by all age groups. It is the next big thing, and is already well on its way.
