The three geographies, namely, physical, economic and political are interdependent.

The three geographies, namely, physical, economic and political are interdependent. Any kind of an adverse effect on one can also adversely affect the other two:

Physical Geography:

As we all know, physical geography is basically the study of the surface of the earth that includes plains, mountains, rivers and oceans. The knowledge of this particular aspect of geography allows people to intelligently plan on suitable places where they can live, build factories, as well as farm and grow different crops to the maximum advantage. It sis divided in several branches, namely, geomorphology that deals with: l) land formation, volcanic action and erosion, 2) mathematical measurements of the earth, dealing with the earth’s imaginary lines, namely meridians and parallels, the former being the circles going through the North and South Poles, and the latter being the circles that are parallel to the equator. Based on these lines, we can measure longitude and latitude. On the basis of such measurements, we can locate spots on the globe.

There is also other branches of physical geography, namely oceanography, the study of seas, tides and currents; meteorology, the study of weather; hydrography, the study of bodies of water; and climatology, the study of climate.

Economic Geography:

This aspect of geography covers the importance of lifestyle that includes industry, agriculture, exploration of minerals, the growing of crops, distribution of raw materials, planning of cities and towns, as well as needs relating to transportation and trade. These, in turn, have allowed the supplementation of further studies, such as building roads through mountains, bridges over water, as well as farming in lands that are hilly, including the ability to build dikes and dams, as well as the necessity of irrigation.

Political Geography:

This branch of geography concerns the man-made divisions of the earth that include their boundaries and governments, separating countries and cultures. There is presently a new kind of political geography, known as geopolitics on the basis of which, the application of a particular method is used to ascertain the trend of politics globally.

Each of the above geographies cannot be isolated from one another, and as time goes by, depend on one another in areas of international and national importance.

June the 8th is World Oceans Day: a day we celebrate our water bodies and make a promise to protect and nurture them.

June the 8th is considered as World Oceans Day. Some international days get a whole lot of attention (e.g. Mother’s Day etc.), which is mainly due to the commercialization surrounding the said event and the “big bucks” that are to be made in the process. Flowers, cards, teddy bears, chocolates: the sales of all these soar, and the prices of flowers especially become double the normal price.

Yet, other days (like World Oceans Day) come and go without much fanfare. No doubt, concerned groups or individuals do make efforts to celebrate the day and create awareness on the immense importance of our oceans, lakes, seas, rivers, mangroves, and reefs. But only when everyone realizes and celebrates does it truly make a difference.

We need to MAINTAIN our beaches, seacoasts, and water bodies. Each of us can play a part. We can start by keeping our beaches litter-free. This, in turn, keeps our water bodies in good condition and free of debris. Marine debris comes in the form of plastic (polythene) bags, plastic bottles, glass bottles, etc. Once plastic enters the water, it also enters the immensely important water cycle, carbon cycle, and food chain.

We need to PROTECT our oceans and water bodies. Instead of protecting, we actually abuse. Two things that immediately come to mind are overfishing and oil spills. Overfishing depletes the species, and leads to imbalance and ultimately extinction. Fishing should therefore be carefully monitored. Oil spills are another hazard. They harm a whole spectrum of sea life. Sea birds are especially affected; when their feathers get coated with oil, they are weighed down, sink, and die.

We need to NURTURE our oceans. Instead of giving back, we keep on taking and taking. We need to nurture the water on our planet and the rich diversity of both plant and animal life that it supports.

And finally, we need to CELEBRATE this day (June the 8th)—but PRACTISE all of the above not only on this day but all year round.

Just my opinion on global warming, a persuasive paper I did in school.

The “theory” of global warming is not a theory. It’s the truth. Not only is it warming the planet, but it is melting our ice caps, therefore raising ocean levels and storm patterns are changing. There are valid arguments for both the existence of global warming and its nonexistence. I’ll prove to you that it is real.

Firstly, it has been noticed that there have been carbon dioxide inclines in the atmosphere. Cars put out a majority of carbon because of the fossil fuels they burn. The United States alone, 5% of the world’s population, emits 30% of all of the carbon into the atmosphere. That’s more than any other nation. I believe that the industrial era is what began our overuse of carbon dioxide.

Secondly, the global temperature is on a steady rise. The carbon dioxide is letting sunrays in, but not back out. Out ice caps are melting. We are losing habitats because the heat becomes too much for certain species. Also, it may not be noticeable, but we are losing marine life because of the warmer oceans. Why else would the ice caps be melting? Cold oceans?

Now, to elaborate on melting snow and glaciers all around the world, our biggest issue is that the ocean will soon rise and overtake the land. Also, there will be a shift in the ocean currents and Europe could lose the warmth from the Gulf Stream, which has been what is keeping their climate mild. If they lost that current, Europe would be cold turkey…literally.

Some say it’s just another one of Earth’s cycles, but it’s 100% manmade horror. We emit greenhouse gases from the industries. We invented cars. There is no arguing that. Those who believe that global warming is another idea, then they need to learn themselves a few lessons about science.

There are many ways to heal our precious Earth, though. My three biggest tips are to recycle, use public transit more often/ride a bike, and/or turn off electronics when they are not in use. If you recycle, you save tons of energy and pollution per year. Riding a bike or using public transit reduces how much carbon you send into the atmosphere on a day-by-day basis. You save one pound of carbon for every mile that you don’t drive. Turning off electronics when you’re finished with them saves energy, which is eventually linked to carbon dioxide and other pollutants.

As I’ve said, it’s true that humans are the cause of global warming. Sooner or later, all the weather patterns will shift and more storms will appear, and some types of storms will appear in areas that aren’t supposed to have those storms. Day after day, cars, factories, and even garbage disposal let out loads of carbon into the atmosphere. It’s all the carbon production throughout the entire planet that will continue, or cease we can reduce, our planets heat and other important factors.

This article discusses global warming.

Global warming is destroying many of Earth’s marine life and coral reefs. “Global warming is when the earth heats up. It happens when greenhouse gases trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, plants, and animals. Many cannot take the change, so they die (Oracle 1).” It has destroyed over 70% of Earth’s natural coral reefs. Global warming has also made it impossible for new reefs to form because of the rapid increasing water temperatures. Global warming is destroying marine life, coral reefs, and society needs to take action to help prevent future problems.
Global warming is destroying marine life. It causes the sea level to rise, and this is a major problem for plants and animals of the oceans. Microscopic plants are being killed because the water is too warm for them to survive. Microscopic plants are the base of the food chain, and much of them are being killed off. This effects the total food chain. This also effects society because many of the fish are dying off because the plants and smaller fish they eat are not able to survive. Fishermen are losing much of their catch because so many fish are dying off. “Increased carbon dioxide emissions are making the world’s oceans more acidic and could cause a mass extinction of marine life” (Leake 1). The increased carbon dioxide in our ocean’s water is a result of global warming. If society does not find a way to decrease the effects of global warming, there is also a great possibility that many of the fish we see in the ocean today could become extinct. The effects of the tiniest plants in the ocean being killed off can be seen here.
Global warming is also destroying coral reefs. Not only are coral reefs a natural beauty
for humans to enjoy, but they also serve other purposes. Coral reefs also serve as a major tourist
attraction for many areas around the world. “Coral reefs are often portrayed as natural wonders of
great beauty which makes them an important tourism attraction. In Australia, revenue from
international tourism to the Great Barrier Reef exceeds $6.8 billion per year” (Science Daily 1)
This quote shows how important coral reefs are to humans and to animals of the ocean. “In
developing countries, tourism based on ecosystem services provided by coral reefs is a vital and
rapidly expanding industry”. (Science Daily 1) This quote also shows how important coral reefs are too many areas around the world. If these coral reefs are destroyed because of global warming,
it is going to affect more than just the animals of the ocean. Coral reefs are home to many
different types of fish, and many smaller fish also feed off of coral reefs. Rising ocean
temperatures make it almost impossible for new or damaged coral reefs to form, and this means
society needs to preserve what we still have left. Coral reefs can be preserved by informing
society of the negative effects they are having on coral reefs and making them aware of how
important coral reefs are. Coral reefs have been enjoyed by people for many generations, and if
all of them are killed off in the past it would be disappointing to know my kids would not
get to enjoy them in the way society has.

Society needs to take action to help prevent future problems in our oceans. Many daily
activities that humans take part in can be linked to global warming. The burning of fossil fuels is
one of the main causes of air pollution. Some of the ways society can help to slow down global
warming is cause less air pollution and pollute the water less. “Air pollution occurs when the air
contains gases, dust, fumes or odor in harmful amounts. That is, amounts which could be
harmful to the health or comfort of humans and animals or which could cause damage to plants
and materials.” (Air Quality for Kids 1) Air pollution is one of the biggest causes of global
warming. “Water pollution is an undesirable change in the state of water, contaminated with
harmful substances” (Buzzle 1). With all of the air and water pollution going on, it makes it that
much harder for existing coral reefs to stay alive and for new ones to form. This air and water
pollution is also killing much of the marine life that inhabits the coral reefs. Society needs to be
informed of the negative effects global warming is having on our Earth.

Society needs to take action to preserve Earth’s natural beauty for future generations to enjoy as much as people have in the past. Global warming has a direct impact on the death of much marine life. It is not only destroying marine life, but it is also killing coral reefs around the world. Global warming is increasing at an alarming rate, and if nothing is done about global warming it will only get worse as time passes. Rising water temperatures are a result of global warming, and these rising water temperatures can be single handily linked to many deaths of coral and animals of the ocean. By making society aware of the major impact global warming is having on coral reefs and marine life, there is a greater chance of Earth’s natural habitats to be protected better.

I come to meet people from every walk of life and the sad truth is the ones closest are the ones well equipped to screw you. Now why does this happen, well most of the time its cause of a rich blend on ungratefulness paired with an attitude that well stinks, that people posses. Being good to people is like being a goalkeeper no matter how many goals you save they will always remember the one you missed.

Everyday I learn something new, some inadequacies about myself, and usually the people to tell or make me feel it… are part of an esteem bunch of losers. You make people an integral part of your life, give them your mind and soul just to find out they’re throwing themselves at others. For someone who doesn’t do much… my life goes through dramatic changes I mean it seems like there is a long unending line of people waiting to screw me

I wonder at times what has happened to us as a community, great civilizations have been bought to dust for their own mishaps, with no one else to blame but themselves. Noble life demands a noble architecture for noble uses of noble men. Lack of culture means what it has always meant: ignoble civilization and therefore imminent downfall. My nemesis – my downfall, if you will – was relationships, and trying to fulfill them, but obviously I’m not going to discuss my relationship(s) but relationships in general.

There was this time when partners were chosen on the qualities they possess rather then what they possess. Unfortunately much of our activity these days is nothing more than a cheap anesthetic to deaden the pain of an empty life. For those poor men who want to make something of themselves you know be self-made, basically the honorable thing to do are quite aptly termed “boring”. Now lets the kind who is not boring and hope to learn from these individuals who have supposedly everything. Taking the easy way out is an option to, set low standards, meet them and live happily ever after. Firstly you should be an absolute awesome dancer and completely in the clubbing scene. Obviously to get to the club you need to have a car, and ample cash to go with it. Doesn’t matter where is comes from, hard earned or just from the old man’s fountain of cash, it all counts. If all that doesn’t work you might want to try trekking, damn the excuses they make.

Well its fun now, life seems good, but where is the growth, I mean is this what you’re going to pass on to your kids, just because your dad doesn’t ask you with who your going doesn’t mean it’s ok. What you portray to the world is often quite the opposite of what you are, and when this happens it’s the beginning of the end. People change, but it should always be for the good. Sitting at home waiting for some aunt to help you ship your ass off to Canada seems the ultimate option. The intent of this blog was just to vent some repressed feelings. The target of this is clearly stated in the title. And if somehow you can relate to this blog, consider yourself to be in deep shit.

A good wife is one who serves her husband in the morning like a mother does, loves him in the day like a sister does and pleases him like a prostitute in the night.

Why is it that people constantly strive to be difficult? all i ask from you is time, maybe its selfish of me that i don’t want you to go away from me but even you don’t know what turbulent times lay ahead of me. this is precisely why one should not divulge their problems and go by life alone. i wish i could spend my life whining but time is a luxury i don’t have. yes i lie allot according to people but its a lie cause i choose for it to be a lie. the thing about a quarrel is that it take two parties, it can be avoided if one party deserts it only gets worse if one o the parties in question probes. i was quite happy till i got to know that women are capable of breaking hearts.

to begin with for you the whole notion of being in love is conceptual, but what you fail to understand is that concepts at times make you defy logic. the reason why i say you live in denial is cause you actually do, religion is a beautiful thing but its not open to interpretation, if you wanna follow one part of it you cant ignore the rest its not regular ice-cream shop where u get too choose your flavors and toppings according to your mood. I’m telling you now i won’t miss you, i’ve bought myself to handle things alone thank you very much. i’ve mentioned i’ve an extremist so its either black or white no grey for me, same thing in life its either a yes or no. my friend whether you like it or not is my conscious, i was told by my conscious not to venture into this arrangement its dangerous and heartbreaking, but being a man i dint think twice, now look at me.

moving to even more trivial issues, the order i seek in life is the confusion i feel. everyone has problems each with their own priorities my actual problem is that i don’t reach that level to handle the bigger ones cause people find ample time to burden me with smaller more irrelevant ones. the more you try to run away from a fight the faster it chases you down. you try to give someone the respect of not fighting back they will make sure there is a fight. “Izzat Raz nhy ati bhai”. Another problem is that everyone wants to be the victim, i think its a universal rule now that its always my fault. i don’t mind but it gets to me sometimes and people just don’t understand.

The point well, there isn’t a point to this post its just to tell you that people are so short sited, i know its cliched to say that put yourself in my shoes but seriously try it. You will get to now that it isn’t a walk in the park, even for a handsome guy like me …

We as people of this earth should have a deeper reverence for mother earth:

Having a deeper reverence for Mother Earth is a requirement we as people need to become responsible for.

With out Mother Earth there would be no animals, food, lands, desert, oceans, shores, lakes, rivers;

We as people have the ability to take care of Mother Earth with our hands. Our hands and legs are meant to be strong;

Technology is wonderful but its Mother Earth gifts to each one of us that helps us to be the people we are today: Mother Earth sustains life for all of us. Mother Earth supplies the air we breath, the food we eat. Mother Earth supplies is the soil to till. Yet as people we do not appreciate all she has done for us.

Mother Earth has supplied us with water for rivers, streams, lakes, oceans.

Even in the bible it talks about the earth and what the soil can give but we as people will shed blood into her rich earth.

We will damage the air we breath with all the cars. Animals need rescue from the oceans that we continue to drop oil in.

Go Green is so important that there still people in this world who could care less; Go Green for Mother Earth should slip off every ones lips.

Mother Earth needs our help and we should bow down to her and assistane in all the things we do in our dailiy lives.
