Trojan War– Myth or Reality
Homer’s Iliad narrates the famous episode of the Trojan War. Homer’s description of the War was based on one of the important stories from the Greek Mythology. Many early historians believed that, although most of the story of the Trojan War as detailed by Homer, was mythical, it may have been based on an event that actually took place. Archaeological excavations at the site of Troy (Hisarlik) in Turkey provide evidence of the existence of the ancient city of Troy and of its destruction in circumstances narrated by Homer.
