Is it the end of life as we know it and the beginning of another one?  A new journey starts when the present one comes to an end?  To some it is a welcome option.  To others it is shunned since it is considered emotionally disturbing and of the utmost taboo.  Death is in actual fact the last taboo.   Death is celebrated, embraced and also feared.

If it is so bad, if it is so awful and unpleasant that most people don’t even remotely want to talk about it, why would it be that it’s welcomed with open arms by a select few?  Could it be the case that one’s life is so bad, one’s life is so awful and full of sorrow or even riddled with pain that the face of death is a better choice to opt for?  What is death after all?  Who decides who has to die now and who decides who has to die later?  Is there a superior being, an entity that decides ones’ fate?   Do we know when we are going to die?  Do we know what happens after we die?  For the Roman Catholic Church death is the complete and final separation of the soul from the body.  Your soul is set free from your body and it ends up lifeless, a carcass that rots away progressively with every second that passes, leaving the skeleton which will eventually turn back into dust.

 
It is a fact that many of us have at one point or another, contemplated quite deeply about this subject, morbid, cold and tragic as it might be.  We all have at one point or another in our life reached a state which is completely beyond our control after having sunk so low that we can’t really sink any lower.  All our doors would seem to have been permanently slammed shut.   All hope would vanish and everything would seem lost.  Thoughts of an escape from everything and everyone would come to mind, thoughts of death will gradually follow.  Such shallow thoughts could be related to a financial disaster, to the loss of one’s job perhaps, or due to the side effects of a vice that puts one in a state of misery.   Family members have needs, they have demands and being financially ruined won’t assist them with acquiring their essentials but brings about desperation and extreme anxiety, eventually effecting ones’ health considerably in the process.  On the other hand, such shallow thoughts could be related to one’s poor state of health for which there is no known cure.  Only pain and suffering remain, and death would remove all these…forever.  No more grief, no more sorrow, no more heartache…just peace and quiet till the end of time.  Such a welcome alternative!  No more problems, no more anguish, no more headaches, no more unhappiness…nothing…nothing at all…just peace and more peace.

The ultimate way to pass over to the other side is to do so in ones’ sleep.  The transition would be swift, painless and peaceful.   You’ll just go to sleep on your bed, close your eyes…never to open them again.  No other way can better it but alas this is not within our capabilities…or is it?  It can be arranged if one wishes to end it all prematurely.  There are ways to terminate ones’ existence if living has been one full of hurt or injustice of whatever form.  
 
Death however, is life’s ultimate mystery.  Once gone beyond living, there is no turning back.  There is no second chance once you go beyond a point of no return.   It is permanent.   Who indeed knows what happens after death.  Is it a better life?  Is it a worse life?  Is there actually a life after death?   Religions maintain that there is some kind of afterlife or reincarnation.   I don’t think I would want to be born again after I die, especially if I die out of my own free will, of my own hand.  Once gone I wouldn’t want to start all over again.  I wouldn’t want to start again going through constant struggles and anguish of every type imaginable.  Once gone I would want to remain gone, finished…no more.   I wouldn’t want to start another journey for this present one has been so very turbulent and too emotionally devastating.  I too have looked upon death, for death is no alien to me, as a form of relief to the pain I endure, which although not of a physical nature, still brings me down to my knees in agony every time it strikes.   Occasionally it becomes too great a weight to go on shouldering.

It is said that life is beautiful and people who have been close to death can appreciate being alive more than they ever did before.  It comes naturally for one to feel grateful for being given a second chance in life.   Would it be a second chance to be unhappy again?  A second chance to struggle all through life trying to make ends meet?   Could it also be a second chance to carry on with the conquest of happiness, with the conquest of paradise?   Or would it be perhaps a second chance to die again?
 
Why die or want to die when life is beautiful?   Life can only be beautiful if one is happy.  Without happiness life can never be worth living and happiness can be such an elusive emotion.   However this usually is in the command of another person.  You don’t control your own happiness for it is out of your reach, out of your grasp.  You are only a prisoner in confinement and the keeper of your happiness, the keeper of your heart is somebody you treasure with all your might.  A life without happiness is one which has no significance, no meaning.  It is a waste of time and a waste of space.   The feeling of being so low, feeling so down, feeling so lonely, isolated and abandoned is not the ideal way to go on living.   Death would be preferred to solitary confinement.  Would you want to be reborn again with the possibility of going through these negative emotions one more time?  I know I wouldn’t. 

Life is by far a garden of roses, however it is true that there are two sides to every coin.   In an ideal world, we have to make the best of what we have, while we still can, although it’s not always easy and not always possible.  For as long as the looking glass mists up, all is not lost and hope always remains in the background.  Once my turn arrives for death to come knocking at my door, then that would be the final curtain, that would be the end of the road, and I will make my final journey.  I will follow others who have been there before me, and others will follow me in turn themselves.  My only regret is that I can’t come back to tell you all about it………….and besides, who wants to live forever?

  • Lights Flickering

    This is one of the most common signs. Spirits have the ability to interfere with light and electricity just because they are pure energy. I’m not saying that EVERY single time a light bulb flickers at home means that a spirit is around you, but if you check the bulb or the switch and everything seems to be fine and you can’t find an explainable reason, then is very possible there’s a spirit around you.

  • Appliances Turning On and Off

    Again, the spirits are pure energy and they can manipulate electronic appliances as well, such as the TV, radio, microwave oven, etc. Most of the times they want to make you aware that they’re there and want your attention. If your TV turns on for no apparent reason, try to decode the reason behind it…what show or channel is on? Is it perhaps the favorite show your grandfather used to watch before passing away? Is the radio playing your grandma’s favorite old song?

  • Chills or Cold Spots

    Sometimes you are in your room, reading a book or chatting online, and suddenly, you feel an awkward chill on the back of your neck, or you get sudden goose bumps through your arms even though is 70o. Degrees. Most of the people have experienced something similar at least once in their lifetimes and the reason of these phenomena is that spirits do not release heat because in fact they absorb it. As everybody knows, heat is energy in movement, and when spirits absorb it they leave a cold spot instead. They use that energy to move and perhaps, to turn on your TV.

  • Dreams

    Perhaps this is the universal media through which spirits send you messages. But how do you know if that dream about you and your death relative was a real conversation or just the product of your subconscious? In fact, there are a few characteristics you should analyze after having a spiritual dream: It should be vivid
    It should be in color, not black and white or grayish
    It should be chronological or at least with a logical sequence It should have some sort of message with words, telepathy, or physical
    It should have left you confused, happy, peaceful or even fearful

  • The Feeling of Being Watched

    A lot of us have felt this one! All of us have the ability to pick up spiritual energy once in while, especially when we are relaxed. You may ask, how to tell if this feeling is real or just a suggestive fear? Just ask yourself: Am I feeling this because I don’t like to be alone? Or is it because I recently watched something scary on TV? Remember that our mind play tricks on us very often. If the feeling of being watched came out of the blue, while you were singing, reading a book or just concentrated in something totally unrelated, then be sure that you are not alone!

  • Voices

    A lot of times people have heard voices calling their names, laughing or chatter. This is very possible but very rare. Indeed, when people hear this voices in an unexplainable circumstance, they attribute them to ghosts. In this case let me make a distinction between a ghost and a spirit. A ghost is an entity that hasn’t cross over to the other side, while a spirit has done so. A spirit can come to the earth to visit relatives and gives us messages, which can also be heard through our ears, but as I said, these cases are rare. On the other hand, a ghost doesn’t know is dead or they can’t cross over because of unfinished business, and they can also try to communicate with you in a rather disturbing manner.

  • Symbols

    Unfortunately this is the sign we pay less attention to. Spirits try to communicate with us in every unimaginable manner, and by using symbols they are sending us a message without scaring us. Have you ever seen a flying bird that suddenly reminds you of a friend you lost in your childhood? Or perhaps, you found an exact copy of a book at the bookstore that your grandmother used to read to you? What about that toy you thought was lost that your father gave you one Christmas? All of these are examples of symbols our spirits use to let us know… Hey, I’m watching over you!

  • Scents

    This is another sign that can be confusing. We always keep memories about how our deceased relatives used to smell, perhaps of a distinctive colony or perfume they liked, or even because of a specific activity they performed. I’ve heard many stories where people are doing something and suddenly they smell that particular perfume, or cigarette odor. If your death relative used to work with cars and out of the blue you smell car oil, don’t be scared and say hi!

  • Moving objects

    Spirits can have the energy to move an object in front of our eyes. However this is rather rare since they don’t want to scare us. This phenomenon is more attributed to ghosts. But many times spirits will do so if they have something important to tell us, especially if we are experiencing a rough time in our lives. Even though you may not see the actual movement, things can appear in different places the next morning or disappear from it usual location. Think about the actual meaning of that object to you, and how can it relate to your deceased relative.

  • Apparitions

    Apparitions can be really scary, especially because of the context how movies portray them. Spirits don’t want to scare us, but sometimes they’ll appear to us to give us peace. When we see people we don’t know, there can be two possible explanations. It is a ghost or it is an angel, but that’s another story. Ghosts usually appear to scare us or at least to let us know they’re there. Angels appear to us to protect us. When a death relative appears to you, don’t be scared and try to talk to him/her. But don’t worry, since this sign is the rarest, rest assured that you won’t see a complete apparition, however don’t underestimate those “corner of the eye shadows”, because most of the times, it wasn’t your imagination.
