Sound pollution will disturb us in out side of the house and inside of the house also, lot of different works are going in the house and around  the house , due to this sound will be there, running, non stop radio sound . T V sound, children ‘s plays , running motors on the road,, dog’ s barking, different phone call sounds, workshop  these are creating sounds . it is very difficult to escape from these sounds, and we cannot avoid these sounds ,so we have to create favorable atmosphere around us

Reducing sound should start from house itself ,  if there is no need of TV and radio switch off them first, decrease cell/phone incoming call sound, when there is no need switch off fans also ,so that some sound may decrease . if  bring up some plants around the house ,we can avoid the outer sounds,  by arranging sound proof doors and windows to the house

Several years prior to this writing I was, myself, attacked by something that I’d never run across before. I was working alone in tiny store in a shopping mall. The store was pretty much dead and on the verge of closing down due to lack of business. As was usual during my shifts, I was alone with no coworkers and no customers. I had a book with me, also as was usual, and was trying to read. However, something wasn’t quite right.

Feelings of intense loneliness began creeping over me. Odd, because I usually lose myself in a good book and prefer solitude and quiet. Ignoring these feelings, I kept reading.

The feelings, rather than leave, kept getting stronger and stronger, more and more prevalent, as time passed. Eventually, I marked my place in the book and set it aside. Coming out from behind the sales counter, I began to pace the store. Anyone who saw me likely thought I was mad. It frightens me to think back on that night and realize just how close to the truth that really is.

As I paced the store, walking faster and faster, trying, I think, to unconsciously outrun something—either what I was feeling or what was making me feel it, I don’t know which—the feelings of incredibly intense loneliness kept getting stronger and stronger, more and more undeniable.

Then the voice started.

I very distinctly heard a calm, young feminine voice speak my name, loud and clear, in my mind.

My first thought was that the voice belonged to a Wiccan friend of mine who is so close she’s become an adopted sister of sorts. My second thought was the realization of the overlaying darkness, a feeling that I can only describe as being sinister, that was in the voice. I knew then that it wasn’t my “adopted” little sister who was speaking in my head.

Not knowing for sure what was going on and starting to get a bit frightened, I continued pacing the store. While walking endless loops around the store, I kept trying to mentally block whatever was there. Rather than leave, I felt it pushing deeper and deeper into my mind. The feelings of loneliness grew sharper and, in my mind, I began to hear the young feminine voice that had spoken my name giggling from time to time.

Whatever this thing was, it was enjoying what it was doing to me.

After several minutes of this I retreated to the restroom and simply dropped down onto the toilet lid and grabbed the sides of my head. I concentrated, trying hard as I could to push away whatever was there. Thoughts of suicide began drifting through my mind, borne along on the ever-sharpening waves of loneliness.

The voice in my head was giggling almost nonstop by then. Most of the times when the laughter paused, the pauses were only to allow the voice to speak briefly, suggesting I simply give in to those suicidal impulses and kill myself.

At some point during the struggle in the restroom, I realized later, I’d begun to cry.

I sat there for several minutes, clutching my head, mentally screaming at whatever had latched onto me to go away and leave me alone. Finally, the feelings and the giggling voice began to fade.

For hours afterward I felt drained and was terrified that the thing would return. I wasn’t at all sure I would be able to fend it off a second time, having the definite impression that I’d only just barely managed to do so once.

When my shift finally ended, at closing time for the mall the store was located in, I gratefully locked up and left, rushing home as quickly as I could. I grabbed a fast shower, trying to wash away the feelings the entity had left me with and wanting to get to my computer to e-mail my “adopted” sister quickly as I could, not being able to pick up the phone and call her at the time due to issues not relevant here.

I had to wait until the following morning for a reply from her. She assured me, as I’d already known, that it had not been her that I’d felt and heard the previous night at work. She told me, as I already knew, that she would never want to inflict such feelings upon me and would never deliberately force herself into my mind like that. Such mental rape is abhorrent to her as it is to me.

As to my question of what she thought might have attacked me she had two words: astral vampire.

At that point in time I had heard of such things but had, blessedly, never encountered anything of that nature before. While she had no proof that I had been attacked by an astral vampire, the fact that I was left feeling so drained for so long afterward made sense if that were indeed the case.

She related a story to me in which she had been attacked by something that sounded the same, only several years earlier. Her attack mirrored my own in pretty much all ways—the feelings of incredible loneliness, thoughts of suicide and the voice that kept laughing and telling her to give in to those feelings and simply kill herself. The only difference I really recall now was that the voice she heard during her own attack was masculine.

Due to the nature of astral vampires, if that’s truly what attacked me that night, I am including them here, rather than in my article on other vampires.

Another astral being sometimes encountered are what we tend to think of as aliens.

When most people hear the word “alien”, they tend to envision small beings that are approximately four-foot-tall and have thin, hairless bodies, bulbous heads, huge almond-shaped eyes and gray skin. The mainstream thought on these beings seems to be that they come from some other planet and arrive here at Earth via some form of technology that is far advanced of anything our military and government allow the general public to know currently exists in the way of human mechanics.

Others suspect that these beings actually dwell on the astral plane or in some parallel dimension and visit humans by way of the astral plane.

Some also suspect that the faeries of myth and legend are responsible for these beings we call “aliens” and that the aliens are, in reality, nothing more than the modern guise of the faeries. In times past, the faeries took the forms of sprites and gnomes, elves and leprechauns, trolls and hobgoblins and many other such creatures. Now, the theory states, that mankind’s technology has evolved and our mindset has changed with it, now that most people don’t profess to a belief in the fey, the faeries have taken on the look of something that fits with our newer way of thinking—alien beings.

Is due to all of these reasons that aliens have been included here. Let’s consider these points.

Many people have reported encountering Gray-type beings on the astral plane while meditating or performing out of body, or astral projection trips. Although little-to-no proof truly exists for these claims, as people come away from these encounters with no tangible evidence and only their own, often fogged, memories of what transpired, this is something to be considered.

Too many people have reported such claims for the phenomena to simply be dismissed.

Many people who claim to have been the victims of alien abduction—something that often bears a marked resemblance to past accounts of kidnapping by faeries—and by all accounts it is a typically horrifying ordeal that changes lives and not usually for the better. As such, it makes it something that should be warded against if at all possible.

Regardless of whether these beings are coming to us directly from the astral plane, or whether they’re from a wholly different dimension and simply use the astral plane as a sort of cosmic highway to travel from their home to Earth and back again, they pose a threat to us.

Many proponents of the abduction phenomena claim that the abductees are simply undergoing something called sleep paralysis. Is this possible? Yes. Is it likely? In some cases, probably.

Sleep paralysis occurs when, basically, someone is asleep and dreaming, yet their eyes are open. Due to this, the suffer’s brain is locked into the dream and keeping the body paralyzed, which is needed to keep us from moving about in our sleep and acting out our dreams. During sleep paralysis, however, the dreamer’s eyes are open and they are seeing their surroundings. Their brain is picking up on this visual input and blending it with the dream images in the mind. It’s pretty much the biological equivalent of double-exposing camera film and producing a photograph that contains two overlapping, merged images.

I, sorry to report, sometime suffer from sleep paralysis myself. If it’s not something you’ve ever experienced then count yourself lucky—it’s not at all pleasant.

Imagine having a dream that’s already a borderline nightmare. Say, in keeping with this topic, that you’re dreaming of the stereotypical Gray that seems to be the most commonly reported alien in the United States. Other countries tend to have masses of reports of other types of beings and this has led some proponents of this topic to simply dismiss the whole notion as something cultural and wash their hands of the matter.

Anyway, imagine having such a dream. Then, as you lay in the dark or semi-dark bedroom, soundly sleeping, your eyes open. Now that your eyes have opened, you are seeing your dark surroundings. Your brain merges that, probably familiar, setting with the dream images in your brain. So, you are now suffering from what amounts to the optical illusion of having Grays in your bedroom. You try to move, wanting to get up and either run from these creatures or fight them off. But you can’t because of the chemicals your brain is pumping through your body to keep you paralyzed to keep you from injuring yourself by acting out your dreams.

This adds a whole new level of terror to such happenings—your brain thinks you’re awake and that everything that you’re seeing is real and yet you’re unable to move, despite struggling very hard to do so.

As I said earlier, I sometimes suffer from this. To date, I have never had an occurrence involving aliens, but, having experienced sleep paralysis a number of times, know how disconcerting and frightening the phenomena in general is.

Some who subscribe to the belief that aliens are either from the astral plane or using it to reach Earth have put forth the theory that sleep paralysis is employed by the aliens as a tool and that the abductions, while taking place fully in the mind, on the astral plane, are no less real and horrific than if they took place directly to the abductees’ flesh and blood in the physical world.

On a brief side note, such astral abductions wouldn’t explain the mysterious implants, bruises or other injuries abductees sometimes find themselves waking up with.

Regardless, if these things are real, they pose a threat that needs to be dealt with.

One of the most effective ways to protect oneself against such attacks is through simple meditation and shielding. This is done through visualization exercises and, as is the case with most things, becomes easier and more instinctive over time and with practice.

Try this:

Imagine that you inside a “force field” of white light. Mentally send energy into this shield, adding to it, strengthening it, reinforcing it, and making it stronger and brighter. The more energy that goes into it, the stronger it will become.

To begin with, try creating only a sphere or bubble around yourself. The farther away from yourself you push the boundaries of this sphere, the more area you make it encompass, the harder it will be to maintain and the more energy that will be required to create and maintain it. So, to start off with, keep it simple and create the sphere close to your body and use the simple white light projection.

Some people will use symbols of whatever religious beliefs that they subscribe to and piece the shield together something in the manner of a jigsaw puzzle, thus adding their religious beliefs to the power of the shield as they’re creating it. As this type of protection is most common among Wiccans and other pagans, the pentagram is what’s normally used for this variation. Personally, although I am Wiccan, I do not use this method, preferring a wholly solid shield to one comprised of separate parts and pieces. Do whichever you feel the most comfortable and at ease with.

Once you become more comfortable and proficient with that basic method of shielding, then you can move on to more advanced techniques such as reforming your shield into other shapes or creating a mirrored surface.

I use both for my personal shield and the larger shield I keep in place around my home. Both shields are different sizes of the same thing—a thick mirrored surface that spirals in a fluid clockwise motion from the top down and has an outer edge of likewise spiraling spikes.

Sounds rather threatening, doesn’t it? It’s meant to. Why? Simple—if anything threatens me or my home or anyone inside my home, I want adequate protection to be firmly in place. Each aspect of my shields is there for a very specific reason:

The mirrored surface serves to cause negative energy to rebound back at whomever, or whatever, sent it.

The spiraling motion serves to keep any sort of concentrated attack from hammering away at one particular spot on the shield. With the constant downward clockwise spiral motion, the attacker would be forced to move in that some motion to continue striking the exact same place on the shield. If not, they’re attacking a different spot each time, as the surface of the shielding has moved on since the previous attack or since the sustained attack began. By the time a previously struck spot is back in the line of fire, so to speak, it’s had time to strengthen and repair and is ready for the next round.

The spiraling motion of the spikes serves the same purpose, albeit on a far smaller scale, as the spiraling of the overall shield. The spikes themselves serve to help break up negative energy from an attack in the same manner that large rocks will break up an incoming wave smashing against them—the attack gets broken into smaller bits, robbing it of its overall strength, making it easier for the main area of shielding to deal with.

Also, the spikes serve double duty as a weapon. In the event that something hostile gets too close, it’s mostly likely going to find itself gored by the moving, mirrored spikes. This forces unwanted things to keep their distance.

Anything managing to break through the larger shield in place around my home—which has happened when I’ve gotten too lazy to keep it properly charged up at times—still has to deal with the smaller-scale shield I keep around myself before being able to do me any direct harm.

But, to begin with, start off with the simple white light shield I described. With practice, it’ll become easier and easier to put in place and maintain.

The maintenance is another important aspect of shielding. Like any other structure, your protective shield will undergo wear and tear, even if it’s simply in place and not needed. Astral larvae may well also feed on it and speed up this draining process. The more it’s called upon to repel negative energy or attacks, the faster it will deteriorate and the more often it will require charging and reinforcing. It’s a good to devote time to putting energy into your shield on a regular basis to ensure that it remains firmly in place and ready in case of need. You’ll probably want to do this on a monthly basis, maybe even on a weekly basis. The latter especially if you know, or even suspect, that your shields are truly being used for their intended purpose.

As with most other things, a word of caution is required at this point. It’s something my own spirit guides/guardians have told me time and time again and insisted that I make a point of in this article at this point.

I’ve talked about the creation, maintenance of energy shields. But be forewarned that astral entities, spirits and other such beings can, and very often are, attracted to such energy shields like the proverbial moth to the flame. Most lower-level, weaker entities are apt to simply avoid strong shields, rather than risk being burned by them. If, that if, the entity in question has the intellect and reasoning ability to, first, be aware of that threat and, secondly, to avoid placing itself in any such peril. Not all of them do and, like a moth when faced with an open flame, will simply flit into a powerful shield, even if it destroys them.

But, stronger entities will sometimes take it as a point of pride or challenge and attack a defensive energy shield simply because it’s there. The stronger the shield, the stronger the beings it’s likely to attract. Some astral entities and spirits will see such shields as a gauntlet thrown down in challenge, or a flag waved before an enraged bull. They then act accordingly. This means that the very thing you’ve put up to act as protection may well end up drawing in something that you need the protection against. It’s a fine line.

The shield, in and of itself, is a very good idea. Yet, making it as strong as you’re able to simply to show off that strength or ability may well get you into trouble. My recommendation is to construct a simple shield and maintain it. Then, if and when you realize you truly need it to protect you, and then work on making it stronger and more complex as needed.

Doing this can help protect you from astral aliens as well as astral larvae and astral vampires, both of which are talked about later, as well as threats from other preternatural beings and even negativity that comes your way, both knowingly and unknowingly directed, from flesh-and-blood people you encounter and deal with in your day-to-day life.

Thought-forms are another option.

Simply put, thought-forms are constructs of pure energy that are created by a practitioner of magick and tasked with something. Not everyone is comfortable using them because of the close parallels to slavery. Personally, I resisted the idea myself for a long while before finally creating my first thought-form several years ago.

Thought-forms can be made to appear in any form or shape and they can be tasked with undertaking anything. One of the most common uses for them is protection.

Creation of a thought-form is fairly basic and straightforward.

The very first thing you need to do is to decide what your thought-form is going to be doing—general protection of yourself or someone else, protection against some very specific threat, helping you to locate a particular type of job, etc.

Once you know the purpose that you want your thought-form to serve, you need to decide what it will look like to begin with. I say “to begin with” because thought-forms can change and alter over time, especially as they’re given more energy. Like most beings, thought-forms learn over time. They can, and often will if given the leeway to do so, alter their own appearance and take on more individuality as they age. Since they consist of pure energy, their shapes are malleable and your thought-form may, if not expressly told not to, alter its shape or colors at some point.

Now that you know what your thought-form will be doing and what this thought-form will look like, it’s time to begin the actual creation of it.

Start off by obtaining energy from some natural source—the Earth, the sun, the moon, the currents of the air around you, etc.—remembering not to drain your own energy reserves as this could well leave you feeling weak or sick.

Once you are channeling energy from your chosen source into yourself, hold your hands before you, palms facing each other and only a few inches apart.

Now, visualize the energy you are channeling as flowing to your shoulders, then down your arms to your hands. Let the energy gently stream from your hands and form a sphere of pure energy between your palms.

At this point, you’ll most likely be feeling the pleasant tingling sensation marking the path the energy is taking through you. You’re very likely to be feeling a far stronger tingle between your hands, where the energy is collecting to create the first step of the actual creation of your thought-form. If you’re very lucky and channeling an unusually high amount of energy, you might even be able to physically see this glowing sphere of energy as it forms and floats between your hands.

Begin “programming” this energy with the reason for the thought-form’s creation. To do this, simply concentrate mentally on the reason for the thought-form’s creation and send those thoughts into the energy streaming through you and collecting in the sphere between your hands. It is also very good at this point to also be adding something to the effect of “Harm None” into the “program”, After all, if such peaceful aspects are left out of the “programming” of your thought-form, it may well be that it becomes something that someone else would need protection from. This is something that is to be avoided.

Once this is underway, and while still doing this, begin to envision the energy sphere slowly taking on the shape and colors you want your thought-form to have.

Continue this process for as long of a time as you want and are able. The more energy your thought-form has to work with, the more effective it will be. In the “programming”, I let my own thought-forms know that it’s okay, even encouraged, for them to draw energy from the Earth, moon, sun, and any other natural sources they’re able to tap into, as long as they are not bringing harm to anyone or anything in any way.

When you stop sending energy into the infant thought-form it’s still apt to be invisible to you. You’ll only be able to actually see it if you’re very sensitive and have put an extreme amount of energy into your creation.

At this point, simply let your thought-form get to whatever task it was created to undertake.

Certain protective crystals—agate, especially eye agate, beryl, black tourmaline, blue chalcedony, coral, garnet, herkimer, diamond, malachite, pyrite, quartz, salt, sapphire, snowflake obsidian, tiger iron and turquoise—are all excellent.

While astral cords aren’t a threat per se, they’re still a vital part of the concept of astral, or out of body, travel. They can also be a weak point that needs to be protected.

In short, an astral cord is the energy link that connects your being, your spirit, your soul, call it what you will, to your flesh-and-blood, physical body in the event of astral travel. There are those who believe that the simple act of dreaming is to take to the astral plane and that, each time we dream, we rely on an astral cord to ensure that we awaken safe and sound in our own bodies once more.

Astral cords are normally experienced as a ribbon of silvery energy connecting us to our bodies. It is thought by some to be unbreakable by anything but a person’s physical death. Others believe that, while it is difficult to sever an astral cord, it can be done. Still others are of the opinion that astral cords are fragile and easily cut.

I can’t help but wonder how many deaths, in which someone simply passes quietly in their sleep with no warning, are really caused by their astral cords being severed while the person was out of body, having made the journey consciously or not, and been unable to find their way back to their body.

Such thoughts make me want to include the topic in this article.

The best way that I am aware of to protect your astral cord in to simply use the same shielding methods discussed in the previous pages. Doing such shielding on the astral plane is apt to be even more effective than it would be on here on the physical, mundane plane. Why is that? Because the astral plane is pure energy and far more fluid and malleable than the corporeal level that we inhabit.

Astral parasites are the most common threat in dealing with the astral plane. Astral parasites are extremely common. They can be merely a nuisance, such as a single larvae, or slug, as they’re also known. Or, they can be far more intelligent and belligerent.

The lower down the scale of astral parasites one looks, the weaker and less intelligent the creatures there become. On the other hand, the higher up the scale you look, the stronger and more intelligent the beings are. An entire book, several entire books, most likely, could be devoted just to this topic and a thorough listing of beings dwelling on the astral plane. That list could well include all manner of spirits and revenants, down the scale to larvae and up the scale to astral vampires and beyond to faeries, deities, angels and demons. Simply put, if one cares to look, you can find most anything on the astral plane. It’s a sort of melting pot for the preternatural the way the United States is for Earth.

However, for simplicity’s sake, I am going to cover two sub-topics here. Demons could easily fit under this heading, too, but are easier to cover in their own, larger, article. Astral vampires are usually, and probably correctly, lumped in with demons. However, I’ll be covering them here in this area, along with astral larvae.

Larvae occupy the lowest rung of the ladder of the astral plane. They are scavengers, serving the same purpose on the astral level that worms serve on the Earthly one. Astral larvae have been described as looking like washed out amorphous gray blobs floating through the air. They feed upon, and thereby break down, energy. They’re a needed, necessary part of the cycle of things and, due to the job they perform, very numerous.

Why, if they amount to nothing more than earthworms crawling through the soil of the astral plane, are they to be considered a threat? Because they will often latch onto a person and feed from that individual’s energy. Astral larvae don’t seem to much care where their food comes from and tend to see any energy source they can find as a buffet. People who are physically or mentally ill are especially prone to attracting larvae. They’re attachment to a person can make a healthy person sick and an already ill person more so, causing them to waste away.

Due to the fact that astral larvae are attracted to energy, using the energy shielding method talked about prior won’t work against them. The energy from such shielding only serves to ring the proverbial dinner bell and attract larvae. However, larvae are so weak that, unless your energy shield is itself very weak, larvae aren’t all that likely to get through it.

This all means that getting rid of larvae requires something a bit different. A sharp item made of steel or iron can be waved a few feet out from the body to sever attached larvae and send them away.

Burning certain incenses, those used in banishing or warding rituals—Basil, Dragon’s Blood, Fern, Fumitory, Ginseng Root, Mint, Myrrh, Pine, Sage, Sagebrush, Sandalwood, Vervain, Willow and Wisteria— can also chase away larvae.

Astral vampires, unlike larvae, are a true threat. My own personal experience with one of them, as detailed at the opening of this article, still chills me when I think back on it.

Astral vampires are generally thought be a type of revenant or ghost—in short, the left-over spirit or soul of someone who has passed from this life, yet refuses to accept that fact and move on to whatever awaits them next. These beings exist by drawing energy—life—from the living.

However, others have theorized that astral vampires, some at any rate, are beings who have never lived as we know life and that are actually some form of nonhuman spirit.

Regardless of which, if either, of those is true, astral vampires are dangerous and need to be treated as such.

Sometimes astral vampires seem to be drawn toward healthy people who exhibit a strong life-force. Other times they seem to prefer to prey upon the sick, the weak, or those who are suffering from some form of mental illness or unbalance.

What this means is that no one is every truly safe from an attack by these creatures. They are capable of striking at anyone at any time. Keeping that in mind, protection against them is a must.

Certain protective crystals—agate, especially eye agate, beryl, black tourmaline, blue chalcedony, coral, garnet, herkimer, diamond, malachite, pyrite, quartz, salt, sapphire, snowflake obsidian, tiger iron and turquoise—are all excellent.

Shielding is likely to be your best and first line of defense against an assault by an astral vampire or any other negative astral entity.

If, for whatever reason, your shields are too weak, the astral vampire too strong or a combination of both, allowing the astral vampire to breach your protection and truly assault you, then you’re in for more of a fight, but there are things you can do to protect yourself and drive away, or even kill, your attacker.

First and foremost is light projection. This is really a variation on the same process as shielding. Only when doing light projection, you are sending out a blast or a beam of energy as a weapon, rather than constructing a protective shell around yourself or your home as with shielding. As with the shielding process, light projection really comes down to an exercise in visualization skills.

To do light projection simply envision the light, usually white—the purer and hotter and brighter the better—lancing out from yourself at your attacker.

Different people handle this process in different ways. Some will lift a hand and picture the white light radiating from their hand or palm or the tip of their index finger. Others will envision the light just blasting out from their whole being in a less concentrated, less directed manner. Do whichever feels the most natural and comfortable for you as an individual.

Others, who have become more skilled and comfortable with light projection, take things a step or two beyond what has already been described here. There are those who go so far as to create weapons, usually something archaic or Medieval such as a sword or mace. Others will also create armor for themselves to wear while they are in their astral form.

I, personally, have never constructed astral armor for myself but do have an astral weapon. It used to use a simple wooden walking staff design. After a time, however, the staff that I had designed took on a life of its own, for lack of a better way of describing the process, and ended up morphing into a sword of white light. Each time I forced the sword back into the staff form it didn’t feel right and took quite a bit of concentration on my part to maintain the staff. Each time I ceased putting the effort into it, the white light staff would, once again, alter itself into the white light sword. Before long the sword began to feel right and natural to me and I have long since stopped trying to alter its form.

Creating astral weapons of this nature can take time. Some people simply meditate briefly, picturing, envisioning, the weapon they want to create and accept what they’ve made as-is. The result of this tends to be a sloppy, flimsy object. As with your shielding, the more energy you pour into an astral weapon the stronger and better it will be. The better detailed your envisioning of it, and the more energy you put into it, the more real it becomes. The more real it becomes, the better it will serve you. Such objects can become so real that they can, at times, actually be transferred from one person to another, given as gifts.

Some people, when faced with something like an astral vampire, will do light projection or rely on an astral weapon. Others will do both, using the astral weapon as a focus for their light projection. What this means is that, rather than envision the light they’re projecting to be radiating from their hand, they will aim their astral weapon at the threat and channel the light through it and send a beam or blast or light energy out through their astral weapon and into their assailant. Again, chose whichever method works best and feels best to you.

One thing I would recommend, however, is that, upon finding a way that you like and are comfortable with, you stick with it. Practice makes perfect and in such a situation where skills such as those being discussed here are truly needed, the better you are at what you’re doing the better off you’ll be by far. During such an attack, responding to the threat faster can literally save your life. Upon figuring out which light projection method is the best for you, personally, practice and get used to it. Being able to bring up stronger shields or having an astral weapon in your hand or projecting light all in an instant, instinctively, can give you a much needed edge in a bad situation.

I hope you never need to rely on the information contained here to protect yourself or someone else. But, should the need arise, you need to be able to do so. The quicker and more accurately you’re able to defend against a threat or counterattack the better off you’ll be.

Another, more passive, method of protection again astral vampires and other such beings is to simply call upon whichever deity or deities you believe in and worship. Such faith and energy lent to you by a goddess or god can easily drive away an astral vampire.

Combining shielding, astral weapons, light projection and prayers to your deities can make you a true force to be reckoned with and send astral vampires or similar beings scurrying away and going to great lengths to avoid you.

Astral vampires are dark, vile creatures. Wholesome white light, especially when touch by or blessed by a loving goddess or god, is anathema to them.

Thought-forms are another option and were discussed in earlier pages of this article.

Daniel Evelyne Miller was a sixteen year old girl when she stole a car in 1998, allegedly because the last train she hoped to use to take her home from an a drinking joint at Northbridge had left and she had no money in her pocket to travel by taxi. She is said to have got into a car in the parking yard and asked her sister who did not have a driver’s licence to drive home.

They then linked up with their cousin brother, Maurin Aston Miller, who took over the driver’s seat along the way and invited some of his friends to join in the ride. When Maurin Aston started driving the car, Ms Daniel Evelyn Miller was uneasy with his recklessness so she asked Mr. Miller to slow down and let her and her sister out but Mr. Miller refused to yield to these requests. Mr. Miller then veered off road and crashed a pole causing  a devastating accident which killed one of the passengers and critically injured Ms Daniel Evelyn Miller who became paralyzed from neck down to the upper and lower limbs.

When Ms Miller petitioned Court for damages and compensation both the lower and higher courts ruled that Mr. Miller was guilty of negligence, on grounds that even if the car was a stolen one, he owed his younger cousin sister a duty of care. The Judge ruled that Mr Miller drove sensibly at first but then began to speed and run red lights. Ms Miller twice asked him to slow down and stop to let her and her sister out but Mr. Miller just drove on, laughing sarcastically as he continued with his reckless driving.

Mr. Miller is now required by law to compensate Ms Danielle Evelyn Miller for the injury he personally caused her.

With the papers being filed the judge looked at Dawn. “You prosecuted this case against Sue Nace.  Now you are bringing essentially the same charges against other parties.  Are you just charging people to see if you can get the right one?”

“No your honor.  We tried this case against Ms. Nace in good faith that we were charging the right person.  Now we see that we may have erred and are working to right that.”

The judge shook her head.  “Dawn, Dawn, Dawn.  Based on my review of this case you could easily be called up on misconduct on this case.  Do you realize that?”

“Yes your honor.”

“I had you called in for this hearing to give you the opportunity to help make this right by joining Attorney King in requesting a motion that the murder charge against Ms Nace be vacated and that the embezzlement sentence reduced to time served.  He is also asking that you forgo pressing any charges for past drug use and any other charges that might be peripheral to this case.”

“Your honor.  I would be happy to make that stipulation.”

The judge glared over her glasses.  “Young woman, if you think that settles it with me you are sadly mistaken.  I will always remember when you appear before me that you took the easy out and convicted an innocent woman.  Do you understand that?”

“Yes your honor.  And I assure you that no action you could legitimately take would pain me as much as my own conscience has since I learned that.  I can only blame inexperience as a defense.”

The judge looked at her, “ADA Springer, in chambers.  Now.  Attorney King.  Please wait.  I will not be long.”

Dawn followed the judge to her chamber with her head down.  She had no idea what was up but she didn’t expect this trip to have a good outcome.

The judge sat down.  Dawn started to sit.  “Don’t you dare try to sit.  Stand, at attention.  Like a plebe at West Point.  This is a dressing down.  And you are getting if from an expert at dressing down lawyers who manipulate the law.  ADA Springer, this is the worse case of misconduct I have seen in years.  I would like to have your head and license to practice for it.  But I am convinced that justice can be served better by other means and I am just about as sure that your own conscience will haunt you.  I sincerely hope it will for the rest of your life so much that you will never take this kind of expedient action again.  Never.  If your conscience doesn’t haunt you, I suspect my voice will.”

“Your.”  Dawn was cut short.

“I am not done.  Please be quiet before you totally exhaust my patience.  I want to know one thing.  Who in the DA’s office pressed you to go for the maximum sentence or did you come up with this terrible miscarriage of justice all on your own?”

“Well.  I was going to go for drugs, embezzlement and skip the charge on the death because I wasn’t really convinced she did it.  But DA Harris my senior told me I must press it to get justice for the family.”

“Did you protest that?”

“Yes.  He asked me if I wanted to continue with the DA’s office.  I caved in.”  She started to cry.  “I was oh so wrong.”

“Stop sniveling.  I want to fix this not shrink my carpet with your tears.  They will not help anyone.  I think he was pressured to take that action and did so improperly.  You were as you said, inexperienced and vulnerable.  He failed.”

“Actually I did.  I should have stood up to him.”

“Even if it got you fired?”

“Even if it got me fired.  Yes.”

The judge’s  voice changed to conciliatory, “Dawn.  Let’s go out and see if an old crotchety judge can help you make this a little closer to right.”

“Thank you, your honor.  And I apologize here for any time I used that phrase your honor and really didn’t mean it.  If there is a judge in this county who deserves honor, you do.”

“Because I am letting you off the hook?”

“Maybe a little for that but also because you are helping me have a chance to sleep at night.”

“And just maybe if you really work at it you have a chance to turn out to be as good a DA as I was.”  She laughed.  “And maybe better.  Just remember today if you are ever tempted again to take an easy out.”

They returned to the courtroom.

Attorney King started to ask what the meeting was about.  The judge looked down at him.  “I needed to mentor a future judge.  You know that is an important part of a senior Judge’s job?”

King looked at the judge.  “I can’t think of anyone more capable.”

“Are you just saying that to get my favor in this case?”

“No your honor.  I want your favor but I want it because it is merited by the law.”

“And Attorney Springer, what motions do you have to present to the court?”

King looked at Dawn who nodded.  “Your honor, again, thank you for your help.”

She looked over at Don.  “Your honor, I ask for a couple modifications to Attorney King’s motions.”  King cringed.  What happened in the office?  Was some deal cut there that would put Sue back in jail?  Was the judge dishonest?  He would have bet not.  “I am requesting bail be revoked.”  Attorney King looked stunned. She continued.  ”and Ms Nace be ROR.  I am also requesting that all of the charges be set aside and her sentence reduced to time served.  Also upon word of her completing the drug rehabilitation the DA’s office will formally make a statement to not press any charges for past drug use.  I will also agree to not file future charges in these matters unless very significant evidentiary changes occur.”

King looked at her.  He had expected her to want more not less.

The judge looked at him. “Well Attorney King, are you planing to protest the ADA’s motion?”

“No your honor.”

“Then it is settled.  Attorney King.  When you present your client for her meeting with her parole officer tomorrow he will remove the bracelet.   Present the papers showing the completion of the drug program to the court and all other portions of this agreement will be effective.”

“Thank you your honor and ADA Springer.”

“Attorney King, I have one more question.”

“Yes your honor.”

“Do you think ADA Springer would make a good judge?”

The question totally threw him.  “Your honor.  I believe with some maturing, proper mentoring and time, yes, in fact definitely.”

“Attorney King.  You are showing some wisdom.  I agree with you.  Thank you.  It’s good you answered that way.  Some day you may be facing her as a judge instead of me.  I suspect she may have even less tolerance that I do with lawyers who take an easy out.”  She banged the gavel.  “Dismissed.”

The following day, Friday was her drug counseling, occupational therapy and her parole officer meeting.  When she came out of the last one she did not have the bracelet.  Although she had monthly follow-up with the drug counseling she was essentially free.

“It would be more certain with it.  I plan to hold out as long as possible for making any deal.  I want both couples to see some jail time.  Both couples are guilty of fraud of hundreds of thousands of dollars.  At least one of them has bought a contract on someone’s life.  They need to see the inside of a jail cell.  Both should at the minimum serve ten times what Sue did just on principle.  These people acted like the law didn’t apply to them.  They corrupted the system and perverted justice.  They are despicable.”

“Is being despicable a reason to put them in jail?”

“No.  But a long sentence for each of them will make me feel better.  I prosecuted Sue.  I would be pissed with the defense lawyer if he wasn’t incompetent.  How do you think I feel?”

“But you.”

“My performance was as despicable.  My penance is prosecuting them  I let the defense attorney make my case.  I won.  That was good enough for me.  I didn’t care about justice.  I totally blew it.”

“That is the nature of it.”

“Should it be?  Should I ever win at the expense of justice?”

“Well.”

“My penance is to prosecute those who perpetrated this injustice.  With these being upstanding citizens in the community I will not be popular for it.  Every one in that social strata that has bought a favor will see me as a threat.  I will probably never be a judge or a DA.  They will realize I may go for them some day and will try to destroy me.  Sue should have gone to jail for embezzlement for maybe a year.  Maybe she should have had another six months on the drug charge and maybe that should have been concurrent.  But she didn’t deserve hard time.  Now it looks like someone was willing to pay to have her offed in jail.  The investigation on this had to cost a bundle.  Attorney King handed it to me but I am still not sure where this information came from, who dug this up and I am also not sure they don’t have a dossier on me to take me down with them.  I didn’t do anything wrong but I sure let it happen.  I could be pulled in by the bar for misconduct.  I doubt if I could be disbarred but I think I could be sanctioned.”

“Shit.”

“These people need to pay and pay dearly.  I plan to see it happen.  If possible I will get prosecutions without any deals and I will ask for heavy sentences.”

The next day arraignments were held on the various charges.

With the judges removed Attorney King filed motions to have Sue’s conviction set aside.  At first he was concerned if the judge that was assigned to him was dirty then he realized that even if she was she would be pressed to rule in favor of Sue.  He also checked with the bonding company on what settlement they would accept.  He showed them the evidence that Sue’s thefts were in the neighborhood of $30,000.  They felt their losses to her were more but they would agree to remove all sanctions against her including any barring from future bonding if she agreed to drug counseling and pay restitution of $40,000.  They would get their money back and the costs of handling the case but Sue would have a clean bonding record.

King handed them an agreement to sign.  All of the provisions except the clean record would be effective with the transfer of the money.   Successfully completing the drug program would clear her record for bonding.  He met with Sue later in the day.  She was now scheduled for out-patient drug treatment three days a week for the next three months.  Her days were filling up with meaning.  Soon she would no longer be tied to the bracelet and the parole officer.  She looked at attorney King when he told her. “You will not understand this.  The wheelchair is not as confining as that bracelet.”

King presented the documents to the Judge showing Sue was both making restitution and having drug treatment.  The judge so noted and set a review in ninety days.  King also presented the documentation on the murder charge to the judge and asked that conviction be vacated.  The Judge advised that she would take that under advisement.  He then presented the documents of arraignment against the other defendants showing Sue’s innocence.  The judge continued the hearing for four weeks.

“I think.”

“You better be sure.  This could get nasty if you don’t.”

“How is that?”

“There is one piece of evidence that could put you back in jail.  Janice’s father has it.  If you back out of the procedure he will use it.  You will be retried and you will go back to jail, probably for life.”

“What is it?”

“It would prove you planned the killing.  That means premeditated murder.  You will not get out till you are very old if ever.”

“I don’t plan to back out.”

“Good.”

Sam Notts followed Heather Larson most of the day.  About two PM she went into a Nail Salon to have her nails done.  She was carrying a handbag and a bag that looked like she had bought something but she had it when she left home.  When she came out of the salon she did not have the second bag.  Sam had been taking pictures of the people who exited and entered since he got there.  He broke off surveillance and continued to watch the salon.  About ten minutes later a Hispanic woman went in and came out in a couple minutes carrying a bag like the one Heather had in the morning.  Sam followed her and was able to get a name from a neighbor.  He called Sue and asked the name of the convict that stabbed her.  A check showed they were sisters.

The next day he had her credit report pulled.  She seemed to be behind on all bills till about four months ago.  He could not check further than this but a prosecutor could.

Two days later Sam Notts called Attorney King.  “Charlie, I have some really good news for you.   Do you have a prosecutor that you would like to make friends with? “

“Lots of them.”

“Well, I have something for you to give one of them that would make him or her look good.  With evidence I have in my hands I can prove that the money that Harry and Sally Goodwin checked out of their firm went to another business they own.  I can trace the money.  It is a shell that has bank accounts.  The books on it show nearly a million dollars.  It proves that they are guilty of nearly a million in fraud while they were claiming it was Sue Nace.  We have a minimum of fraud and perjury.”

“So we can prove they took their own money and then declared to the bonding company that someone else took it.  That could be jail time.”

“That’s right.  I can also prove that the parents took the full million for the death and they believed it was suicide.  That means they lied on the application for the money.  That can get them jail time.”

“And you have evidence of this?”

“Yes.  And I have evidence that the president judge is dirty and at least six of the other judges have participated in misconduct.  Just make sure the prosecutor you chose is not in on it.”

“Wow.  Looks like you uncovered a crime spree.”

“To top it off I have superficial evidence that an upstanding couple in the community was paying to have a prisoner stabbed.”

“Nice.  This could make a prosecutor’s whole year.  What do I have to do to get my hands on this?”

“Drop in at my office.”

Sue was scheduled for weekly appointments with the doctor and her parole officer.  Attorney King requested these visits be on the same day to make it easier for his client.  In addition Sue was scheduled for several sessions of physical and occupational therapy each week.  She now had to have shots three times a week for these sessions, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Each time her legs went away for the remainder of the day and nearly all of the next.  After several weeks she noticed that even when they were back they felt rubbery and she had some unsteadiness.  To prevent falls she started wearing the braces full time and using crutches or the chair except Sunday when she was on the second day after the shot.  Essentially she was paralyzed most of six days a week.

Within two months things started to happen.  Attorney King was filing motions and the prosecutor was looking into the information that was given her.  Sue was watching TV one afternoon when a news break came on.  The line on the bottom of the screen caught her eye.  “Grand Jury Investigates Local Judiciary – Judge Robert Kerr and President Judge Lawrence Fuller Indicted.”  She had the sound down to answer a phone call.  She turned it up to listen.  Of the twelve judges all but three were being bound over for trial.  In addition the president judge and two of his staff were also bound over.  Six attorneys in town were being investigated as well as at least ten other people.  Four of those were listed, the ones involved in her case.  The report ended with a clip from the Assistant DA indicating that more arrests could follow.

“My back hurts.  I can’t move my legs.”

The guard called for help, they got a back board and neck brace, put on the neck brace, put her on the backboard and strapped her to it.  Within twenty minutes she was headed for the hospital.  She asked that her lawyer be notified that she was being moved and they called him.

At the hospital she was taken to the ER.  She was put in a room with a guard at the door.  She lay there for at least ten minutes then a woman came in.  “Hi Opal.  I need to get you ready for the doctor.”  She snapped the lock on the door then released the straps on the back board.

“I’m going to put a shot in your back to block the nerves and your legs are going to seem to go away.”  She helped Sue roll on her side and curl up in a ball. Sue felt a needle stick her in the back then the woman helped her roll back on the board and she strapped Sue back on it.

“I will stay a few minutes.  By then your legs will be numb.”  She unlocked the door.

“Why are you doing this?”

“The doctor will come in and check where you have feeling.  I have given you a shot in the spine like they do for women having babies.  It makes you numb below the waist level.  He can stick your legs with anything and you will not feel it.  With those symptoms they will do x-rays and MRI’s.  In about six hours I will be back to give you another shot.  We may have to do this for a couple days.  We need to keep you here.  The lawyer is afraid you might be killed if you go back to prison.”

“Sure.  That is likely.”  Sue reached down and pinched her leg.  “I can’t feel it.”  She tried to move the leg.  “It doesn’t work.”

“It isn’t going to till the drug wears off.”

In the next half hour Sue was checked by a doctor and sent for x-rays.  After they were done she was parked in a hall for a while then moved to the MRI.  When it was finished the doctor looked at the results.  “I can’t see any damage but you certainly have paralysis and loss of sensation.  I think we need to keep you for a couple days to see what is wrong.  With the symptoms there has to be a problem.”

By the next morning Attorney King had filed motions with Judge Joyce Barnes.  He picked her docket because he had only seen messages requesting more cases not requesting specific cases.  She was a workaholic but there was no indication of impropriety.  The first motion was for a new trial based on judicial misconduct.  There was no definitive evidence but the circumstantial evidence was compelling.  With that there was another motion to release Sue on bail till the trial as there were compelling questions about her guilt and for her to get help with her physical condition.  The motions were filed and by evening Judge Barnes had issued an order for bail for Sue pending a ruling on a new trial.  She would wear an ankle monitoring device.  Don had cited the report from the prison of Sue being the recipient of several beatings at the hands of other inmates and made an appeal that returning her to prison may irrevocably violate her civil rights because her life was in danger.  The judge agreed that a temporary order was the only way to insure Sue’s civil rights would not be violated.  The judge would review the evidence and determine if a new trial was in order. 

Sue was still in the hospital when Don came in to give her the word she was being examined by the doctor. He went out shaking his head.  Sue would remain in the hospital pending treatment and then be released.  She looked at Don.  “Where am I going to go when I get out?”

“I have a place for you to stay.”

“Good.  What about my back and legs?”

“Your spine will be kept blocked till you are at your new home.  We have to do that for now.”

“Fine.  How am I going to live there?”

“I’ll have you fitted with braces this evening and you will begin therapy to learn how to use them.”

“Braces?  This evening?”

“They will make you stiff from the waist to toes.  This will allow you to get up, stand, walk with crutches and sit in a wheel chair.  As soon as the doctor is convinced you cannot be helped and you are able to be home you can get out of here.”

As he was leaving someone came in, transferred her to a litter and took her to therapy.  Two hours later she was leaving with braces on her legs and a pair of forearm crutches.  She was now in a wheel chair and was able to transfer from it to a bed and back.  It was difficult but she managed.  As she got into bed she contemplated life like this.  It was going to be tough.  But she considered the alternative, going back to jail.  She was sure she would be killed in weeks if that happened.  The chair was better than a coffin.

The next morning Don arrived.  “We are going to spring you.  We will be bringing you back for evaluation periodically but the doctor is convinced that you have a trauma to the spinal cord that will at some point spontaneously fix itself.   Till then the best is for you to be in a brace and be able to move about as much as possible.  They want one more trip to therapy before you go.”

“Where am I going?”

“To live in a mansion.”

“You are kidding.”

“No.  I am not.  Have I told you anything that did not happen?”

“No.”

“Then why do you doubt this?”

Just after noon Sue was transported from the hospital in a van.  Her wheelchair was rolled in and fastened to the floor.  As they pulled in the driveway she looked at the driver.  “He said mansion.  I think this is up level from a mansion.  He wasn’t kidding.”

“No, he wasn’t.”

“Just what I need is another lawyer.  The one the judge appointed for me didn’t do me any good.  He helped them put me here.”

“I know.  I have someone who has paid good money to get information about you, investigate your case and they will be willing to pay for you a new trial for some concessions from you.”

“They probably want to sell me into slavery.”

“Actually it isn’t that but I will admit it is a lot.  I have to admit I almost didn’t bring this to you.”

“Will it get me out of here?”

“It almost certainly will get you out and you don’t owe them anything unless you are out.”

“I don’t have any money and I don’t have a rich uncle who is about to die.”

“I understand that.”

“What is it that they want?”

“I am not free to tell you that at this time.  I will disclose it completely to you before you agree to anything.  As your lawyer I cannot do anything that is not for your good.  I could be disbarred for anything short of that.”

“I thought they were paying you.”

“They are but I am still your lawyer.  They retained me to represent you in this case so I am your lawyer.”

“So how are you going to get me out?”

“First, we can have the trial overturned on the grounds of judicial misconduct.”
“What is that?”

“The judge did things that were not proper.  He was friends with both the people who were embezzled and the parents of the guy who died.”

“He was told to be there, to do the trial, wasn’t he?”

“He can’t be forced.” 

“Is it bad for a judge to take a case that involves a friend?”

“Really bad.  If they find in favor of that person it looks like they are dishonest.  To prevent that judges can refuse a trial; they call it recusal if they feel they are involved, in fact they must so that people get a fair trial.  This was even worse.  He actually asked for this case.”

“So he wanted me convicted.”

“We can’t say what he was thinking but it sure looks like it.  He had friends who did and he appeared to help them.”

“What about that stupid lawyer?”

“Don’t be too down on him.  He was young and inexperienced.  He should never been assigned your case.  He was appointed by the judge.  There were two good lawyers who applied to represent you for free and he rejected them.  Either of them might have gotten you off.  At worst you would have had a few months in county jail.”

“So I am here because of a judge.  Can I have him debenched?”

Don laughed, “It isn’t called that but maybe.  But the most important thing is getting you out of here.”

“How can we do that?  I’m not going to last long.  I have been beaten up three times this week and stabbed four times in the belly two weeks ago.  I was in the hospital five days.”

“What would you do to get out?”

“Anything.”

“Really?”

“You know the old saying ‘give an arm and a leg’?  I would.  Maybe even an arm and two legs.”

“What if it was really something like that?”

“My legs.  Why would anyone want them?  They aren’t even nice.”

“What if you could keep them but they wouldn’t work?”

“Why would that happen?”

“I’m asking the questions.  You would be in a wheel chair for the rest of your life because your legs wouldn’t work.  Actually nothing below your waist would really work right.”

“I’d have to think about it.  But you are sure I would be out of jail.”

“Yes.  Don’t answer without thinking.”

“Look, I am not going to be alive some morning if I stay here.  And it isn’t going to be long.  I refused to have sex with one of the toughies here.  She will get me.  She told me it will either be sex or out of here on a slab.”

“I need to start filing motions.  Are you sure you want to do this.”

“If you have the paper to sign I will do it now.”

“Let me see if I can get your trial vacated and get you out on bail waiting for a retrial.”

“If that takes too long you will be representing a dead client.”

“I don’t intend to do that.”

“Can you tell me what this is?  What they want.”

“They want a part of your body as a transplant.”

She stared.  “What about me?”

“You will be paralyzed like she is now.”

“What happened to her?”

“She broke her back riding a horse.  She has nothing from the waist down.  Then she tried to kill herself and her dad wants her alive.  In addition to getting you out he has a financial offer that is attractive.”

“And she is in a wheelchair.”

“Yes.”

“So I have the choice of twenty years here unless I am taken out dead which seems likely to happen soon or spend my life is a wheelchair?”

“Yes.”

“Look.  If you are any good, get those papers filed and get me out.  I will sign.  Do it quickly.  I doubt if I will be alive in a week.”

“Actually I had an idea to get you out temporarily. I need you to fake a fall tonight and pretend your back hurts so bad you can’t walk.  They will take you to the hospital.  If someone calls you Opal they know me.  Just remember that.  When you get to the hospital I will have a doctor check on you and we will go from there.”

“Opal?”

“Opal.”

One afternoon Sam Notts got a phone call from a Jack Dawson. 

“I just got the first papers from the Judicial Center on FIOA yesterday.  They advised that there are a few they are having looked at because they have names that may have to be blacked out.  We should be getting them in a couple days.  The ones we ordered later should be here by next week.”

“Good.  I want to pick them up as soon as possible.”

“My wife is there if you want to stop in for them.”

“Will do.”

An hour later he finished copying the new information to make a copy for the lawyer and was adding these to the file.  He found quite a few e-mails about the case assignment.  In one from Judge Kerr to the president judge he wrote.

“Jeff and Heather would feel more comfortable if I were sitting for this trial.  You know well how hard this has been on them having their son die.  It would also be beneficial to Harry and Sally to have this over in a timely manner.  They want to get their money cleared.”

He pulled files and checked names.  Although it wasn’t definitive Jeff and Heather Larson were the names of the parents of the Jason Larson, the man Sue was accused of killing.  Harry and Sally Goodwin were the owners of the embezzled firm.  These connections and notes would have looked improper enough had Judge Kerr taken a case that was randomly assigned to him but worse he had certainly gone out on a judicial limb in asking for the assignment when he knew the people involved.  Sam found the response from the president judge.  “I bumped into Harry at the club and he expressed a desire to see this expedited.  I trust you will not allow unnecessary delay of the trial.  Move it along.  Heather talked to Marie last night and expressed her concerns that the trial may be drawn out.  This would be hard on them.”  Marie was the president judge’s wife.  Clearly there was improper conduct here.

Sam started leafing through the files for other messages about assignment.  He found five more messages from Judge Kerr and seven more from the president judge that were clearly improper.  He found several other trials that were also improperly assigned and there were at least seventy messages between the president judge and other judges that indicated trials were being assigned with personal connection to the judge.  There was a pattern.  He made a note to get the papers for other judges’ assignments for the last year.  At first he felt bad snooping into private mail then he realized that the reason they were so open.  They were arrogantly saying that they were above the law.  And people were being given less than due process.

He went on line and pulled the information about Harry and Sally and found their social security numbers.  With that he was able to get the credit report for them and their firm.  For about two years sales were down and they were struggling.  About ten months ago they started having some interesting transactions.  Money was written out to checks that looked like the embezzlement transactions Sue had been doing for over six months before.  It was interesting that at the same time their receipts were increasing in like increments.  They were recording sales from companies that they had never sold to before.  Suddenly it hit him.  Sue was embezzling that was for sure.  But the owners were taking money out that looked like Sue was stealing it and then putting it back.  Then it hit him.  They KNEW Sue was embezzling funds and they let her continue while taking out more money that looked like her activity.  It made no difference to the company now but when the insurance company paid off it would be big.  They didn’t stop it till Sue was in jail.  Now he knew why Harry and Sally were so intent in getting the trial over with a conviction for Sue.  They had been planning to benefit from the embezzlement.   The bonding company payoff would help them considerably.  They would get the full amount of Sue’s theft and their own transactions.  They just had to wait till the proper time.  Jason’s death set the stage for that.

Sam Notts called Jack Hull the next morning and went to see him. 

“I think I have enough to get the murder charge vacated which is really why she went to jail.  The drug charges weren’t tried but might be if she gets out and I think I can get the embezzlement bargained down to parole.  I think we can get the prosecutor to drop the drug charges in favor of her not pressing a suit against the county for judicial misconduct.  I think we can get her out.”

“I need to hire a lawyer approach her to see if she is interested.”

“I guess it doesn’t matter.  I know you will tell me the way it is.  Lay it on me.”

“She is guilty of the embezzlement.  I am sure of that.  She is guilty of some drug use.   With some restitution she could probably get parole to a drug rehab in a year maybe at worst two.  A few months there and she would be out and only have to meet parole requirements.  But there is that pesky problem with the murder charge.  That one is what got her the hard time.”

“Who did she kill?”

“They say she gave her boyfriend an overdose of drugs.  He died.”

“You said that is what they say.  Did she?”

“If I am ever charged with a crime I want her defense lawyer for the prosecutor.”

“Why?”

“He was totally ineffective counsel.  He did a better job of prosecuting her than the ADA.  The ADA’s case wasn’t worth squat, any defense lawyer with any moxie would have gotten her off.  The defense attorney made the prosecution case for her.”

“What?”

“If I were her I would be suing my lawyer for not providing an adequate defense and asking for a new trial.”

“Why?”

“I’m not a lawyer but I could have given her a better defense.  I think I would be able to get the judge disciplined for judicial misconduct and maybe removed from the bench if there are other like situations.”

“That is pretty strong.”

“The kid who died was a nephew of one of the judge’s best friends.  He should have never sat on that case and the defense lawyer should have questioned it.  He knew the judge and the kid’s parents were friends and he didn’t use it.  And worse, sitting this case wasn’t a random assignment or workload.  The judge went to the president judge and even asked for the case.  The president judge knew the serious conflict of interest and he made the assignment.  There had to be misconduct on his part too.  The judge was also the one who chose the public defender for her.  There were two other lawyers who wanted to do it pro-bono and he rejected their motions.  I talked to a friend who was there for most of the trial.  She thinks it was bad.  She said something about the Judge Roy Bean trials where you arrested them in the morning gave a speedy trial in the afternoon and hung them before sundown.  She didn’t get hung but only because it isn’t legal today so she just went to jail for a long time.  I cringe to think where she would be if the death penalty was on the table.”

“Do you really think she could have been executed?”
“With him as a lawyer, yes.”

“So how did the boyfriend die?  Did she shoot him?”

“OD.  Mainline heroin.  He was using regularly and was getting heavily cut stuff.  He got a good batch and took too much.  It is hard to believe she did it.  She never did heroin at all.  She snorted coke and her friends said she never did drugs till she met him.  She never did injections on herself.  She hated needles.  She was high on coke when they found him.  His fingerprints were on the needle, not hers.  This whole thing smells of a druggie offing himself but his parents didn’t want to accept that, they were influential and they needed a goat.  He also had a life insurance policy for a million that had a half off for suicide in the first five years clause.  The policy was only in effect for two years and his parents were paying the premiums.  If it even smacked of suicide the insurance company would have balked at quick payment.  If it was proven they lost a half mill.”

“So they had their out if she was guilty.  The community doesn’t think they were responsible for his death and they got the money.  I remember how some people have claimed I was to blame for Janice.”

“The police didn’t even know about the embezzlement till after she was in jail.  She claims she took just over a thirty thousand but the employer says it is nearly a half mill.  I am inclined to believe they are lying about the amount.”

“Why would they do that?”
“She was bonded.  The bonding company had to make up the difference.  If she was convicted the company was likely to pay up and not ask questions.  The company that she embezzled from was owned by another friend of the judge.”

“It sounds like the judge should be disciplined for misconduct and president judge should be disciplined for putting him on the case.”

“They are all good friends, the president judge, the judge, the patents, the owners of the company.  It is the good old boy network.  She wasn’t in the network.  They took care of their friends.  She was expendable.  So she got the shaft or better the cell.”

“So what can we do to help her?”

“If we can prove judicial misconduct we can get her a new trial.  You will need a lawyer to do it and I need to give him the information to press it.  I have most of what I need now if you want to get a lawyer involved but a lot of it is people I can’t use without burning them.  I will get some FIOA stuff to cover that.  It is all in black and white somewhere.  I think it is best to do that.”

“Can we wait to bring the lawyer on line?”

“Sure if you want to.”

“I don’t want the possibility of a leak till it is ready.”

“Sure.”

“So what’s next?”

“Well.  I can do a little snooping and see if I can prove where the other money went.  If she didn’t steal it someone else did or they cooked the books.  If she only took the thirty thousand the bonding company may be willing to go soft if someone paid them the money.  Even half of it helps sooth nerves enough that bonding companies sometimes drop charges.”

“Thirty thousand isn’t a big thing.  Let’s find out where the money actually went.”

“I need trial transcripts.  Could you contact her lawyer to get them?  I think it is best if you and I are not visible yet and I want to stay invisible forever.”

“Sure.”

“And I want someone to file some FIOA requests for papers involving judicial assignments.  It is best to prove that there is a pattern of impropriety than to try to prove one trial was tainted and it less likely someone will guess what we are doing.”

“Good.  Tell my secretary what you need.  She will have a friend file for them, someone not connected with me or you.  I think she has a friend who is an activist who files for this kind of thing all the time who will do it for us if we slip him a few bucks for his cause and assure him that we aren’t working against him.  He will file these requests in the middle of something else and it will not attract any attention.  I hear he gets documents by the ton at times.”

“Have him get all letters, schedules and e-mails having to do with judicial assignments and all e-mails between the president judge and the other judges for the period of a year before the trial till about a month after it ended.  Use dates to be covered and don’t reference the trial.  I want to stay invisible.  If they think we are investigating this some of the evidence may spread its tiny wings and fly away.  Damaging documents can wind up in the shredder.”

“That wouldn’t be good.  I want this air tight when it goes down.”

“That is how I do them.”
