My mother often told me that I would never get anywhere in life but to tell you the truth, I actually believed for a while at least. I have a brother and two sisters and I was the only family member who was dealing with health issues.

Low self-esteem cost me my teenage childhood, and this is my story. This is not a fiction story that I have made up but a true story that actually happens while growing up as a child. My mother often told me that I would never get anywhere in life but to tell you the truth, I actually believed for a while at least. I have a brother and two sisters and I was the only family member who was dealing with health issues. When I was about 16 years old I was diagnosed with a terminal disease called Parkinson’s disease at least that was what the doctors thought.

As I get older, I realized that my mother told me that all these things because of my illness. I kept wondering why I never heard her telling my other siblings things like that. I always felt as though I was the black sheep in the family. She didn’t want me to have friends. She constantly tells me things that only lower my self-esteem in one way or another. She even told me once that nobody in their right mind would keep a serious relationship with me and they would just take what they can get and leave. I keep wondering why she was telling me that for (was it because of my sickness).

I grew up to believe that a man would not be interested in a woman who has health problems such as mine. However, I was determine to prove her wrong one day. I pray that one day God would give me the strength and courage to prove her wrong. When we become adults, my brother and sisters left the family home and began to live their lives with their families, and I continue living with her (not because I didn’t have anyone in my life but because I was suffering from low self esteem I believed that I couldn’t do anything on my own). I didn’t think that I had the courage to leave my home. I was scared that if I leave I would somehow end up back at her house. Although she constantly trying to lower my self esteem I tried not to be discouraged by it. I became a pre-school after I left high school while my brother and sisters were in good-paying jobs. I could tell that my mother was so proud of what they have achieved. Although I was a teacher, was still keep putting me down and she even told me that being a teacher wasn’t anything.

I realized that anything I did was not good enough for her. I felt as if my life wasn’t worth nothing, and although I was depressed most of the time I remind myself that one day I shall prove her wrong (I didn’t know when but I knew that God wouldn’t let me suffer for long). Unfortunately, I was still living at her home at age 43. I tried desperately to find a way to get out of her home and prove to her that I could make it on my own. Over the years, my condition got worse to a point where I could no longer go anywhere alone. So I was stuck at home doing nothing, and I realized that was exactly what she wanted.

After watching the Maury show one day I felt motivated to the point where I just have to stop feeling sorry for myself and learn how to cope with my sickness. He was talking to a woman that had no legs, and she was a married woman with children. I thought to myself if a woman with missing body parts can get a husband and kids then that what I am doing wrong. After seeing this show, I truly believe that that was what motivated me to turn my life around. I realized that anybody can have a sickness like mine and live a normal life just like anybody else. I finally stop feeling so depressed all the time and started looking on the bright side of life. After we migrated to the United States and I was convinced that this could be a new beginning for me. I told myself that I will find the man of my dreams and hopefully move out of her house and make a life for myself, with or without my children, even if it takes the rest of my life.

My mother worked as Home helper where she took care of the elderly. She worked with a patient up stairs on the same building we lived. She usually let me stay with the woman while she went shopping. One day it so happens that my mother’s boss came to visit. It was not love at first sight at the moment, but I thought it was my only chance to leave the house of misery and be at peace for once in my life. I realize that this could be a new beginning the chance I have been waiting for.

I found out that the feeling between us was mutual so I decided to take a chance with this man and as time went by gradually LIKE became LOVE and now we are living a happy life together for over 5 years. My oldest daughter is living at the University of Florida and my son who I haven’t seen for over four years lives in England with his father he is finally home where he belongs and he is now living with me and my boyfriend. I recently got a work at home job I’m learning how to drive and I think my life is perfect and my boyfriend purposed to me last Christmas. I felt truly happy. I tried my best not to think about the negative things in life and that was one of the things that helped me get to where I am now. My self esteem is back and I love it. I thank god for sending David into my life.

What kinds of problems do natural red headed people encounter.

in the past, 2009, it was found redheads are more likely to have pain at the dentist. In fact, it was found in redheads have such dental sensitivity that it can hurt them to get their teeth cleaned. Things such as root canals are extremely painful to natural redheds..

Researchers tell redheads, if their doctor approves, to take an ibuprofen, BE SURE TO ASK DR, before they go to the dentist. A Cleveland Clinic Researcher, Daniel Sessler M.D. says that redheads need 20% more local anesthesia for for pain at the dentist. A local anesthesia would be something like novocaine.

Did you know that a gene mutation causes a person to have natural red hair. The readhead has such pain because melonocortin-1 receptors.

The pain is not only vfor dentists as they also have a lot of pain surgeries and they extra anesthesia.

There is also the cact that redheads have 50% more chance of having Parkinsons disease, compared to other natural colors., according to 2009 Harvard study.

The gene that makes hair its fiery color is placed next to a gene that causes parkinsons and proximity, if they get too close together can combine and cause Parkinsons disease in redheads.

Remember this is for NATURAL redheads.

Keeping our environment free from all kinds of pollution should be an important factor that should constantly engage our attention, in order to avoid a possible catastrophe in the future.

The concept of Eco-Medicine has been originated by a symposium advocating alternative therapies in health and medicine. It is universally true that pollution and damage to the environment is harmful to our health and continues to be a serious, global concern. Such concern is authenticated by the fact that environmental damage is having an adverse effect on children, in the way of Attention Deficit Disorder, autism, asthma and cancer, including Parkinson’s disease, sclerosis, Lou Gehrig’s disease and other problems too numerous to mention. Statistics have shown that one out of four children in central Harlem suffers from asthma. Presently, that community has the highest percentage of asthmatic children in the U.S. What has triggered this unfortunate state of affairs are environmental factors, such as air pollution, second-hand smoke, as well as other causes, industrial and otherwise.

Ironically, medical schools seem to remain apathetically inclined to emphasize on such a reality, while physicians seem to be blind to the fact that environmental pollution could be exclusively responsible for a number of health problems, but for some reason has, to a large extent, been reluctant to vehemently oppose policies that contribute to environmental problems. However, there are now pioneers among them who are assuming a leadership role and are beginning to become involved in voicing their opinion as to the deleterious effects of pollution in the environment.

While pollution and disease are unalterable features of modern life, steps should be taken to speak out and expose both the deliberate and casual culprits that promote their businesses by way of pollution.

A report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed that Americans have varied levels of more than one hundred synthetic chemicals in their bodies that could pose a danger to their health.

Nobody should refute the argument that the environment is constantly being bombarded by substances that could be deleterious to the health and welfare of those that have to contend with the problem. There is ample evidence that pesticides are potentially harmful. This is why advocates of organically grown foods are joining the “club,” opposing the unmitigated use of chemicals that could cause diseases about which there seems to be a mere, dampened hue and cry that does not ring true in some countries such as China and India whose burgeoning economies have advanced to the extent that the radicalization of their industry could not afford any departure from the status quo.

I’m not a slob, really. The hours in the day seem to get away from me, and I just don’t get around to the stuff that used to be part of my morning rush to get ready for work.

It is now 1:30 in the afternoon, and I just noticed that my teeth feel gunky. I really should go brush them, but I have this idea for an article. I want to get my ideas down before they fall back out of my brain. (My thoughts do that a lot.)

I am still in my pajamas and a very comfy robe. This is the outfit that most of my neighbours see me in. Fortunately, my nightgown has a shelf bra, so I don’t worry about sagage. Gravity is not kind to the well endowed. Any more sagging, and my belly button will be part of my cleavage.

Okay – while you try hard to get that image out of your brain, I should confess that I don’t exactly work from home. Working usually involves earning money, and I write for Triond and Helium. Enough said.

I used to be rather obsessed with showering every morning. Even on Saturdays, I couldn’t get dressed or go anywhere without showering first. When my children were born, I took a five year maternity break to stay home with them, and I still showered every day. Sometimes that meant doing my aerobic workout during morning nap-time, and then getting into the shower during afternoon nap-time.

I’ve been home on permanent disability for about 10 years now, and for the first 9 or so I was pretty good about showering, getting dressed, and brushing my teeth. I was usually ready to face the world by at least 4 or 5 in the afternoon.

I’ve heard that to establish a good habit, you should attach it to something that you would do every day anyways, so about five years ago I started to do my stretching routine in the shower. So even with a weight gain of almost a hundred pounds (the result of medications, not being able to exercise, and being at home all day and comforting myself with food and medicating myself with ice cream), I am now more flexible than I was before Parkinson’s.

But for the last year or so, I don’t know – maybe I’m just getting more fatigued, and more addicted to the computer, but I just can’t seem to find the energy to get moving at all. I hardly leave the house except for doctor appointments, so there have been way too many days when suddenly it’s bedtime and I’m still in jammies from the night before.

I don’t know if this is typical behavior for people who work from home. It would probably depend on whether or not meeting clients or coworkers was part of the job. Now with web-cams and Skype I suppose there could be incentive to look presentable. I dread the advent of the videophone.

Well – it’s almost 2:30 now, and I really should go brush my teeth. I guess I really should have a shower too.
