When it was put to him that a former colleague staff had testified phone hacking was the way they went about gathering stories, Morgan said he was a convicted criminal and could not be trusted.

Yet the journalist, James Hipwell, was a finance columnist and Morgan had trusted him enough to invest nearly $100,000 of his own money in his information!

Morgan was asked about binology, the name given to the practice of going through the bins of celebrities and printing any juicy pieces of scandal they found. Morgan claimed not to have heard of the term but he defended it saying, “It’s only rubbish, isn’t it?”
