Someone saw something (object); must have looked at its subject, not to mention anyhuman - because certainly in every human being has a different perspective to a problem (object) - let alone the problems associated with enacting (the subject)

Human perspective on the subject can be mapped as follows:

O ———– O ————- O
S- S0 S+

S0 = valuation subject = null (nothing) = objective.

Where one views the problem in a pure object.

example: if he is a judge who decided the case, and if his mother done wrong and the penalty is dead, then the judge give a death penalty for his mother. if his child steals - and must cut his hand - he would have the heart to decide his own punishment of hand amputation his child.

S- = subject = maximum negative assessment.

Where one considers all the problems which the subject done is negative.

example: if there is the subject of help - he might have suspected, and would think nothing (wrong). even if the subject still - do not do anything about it - it’s also wrong. whoeven worse - if the subject gave his life to help him - he DOES NOT CARE, and considers its an MISDOING.

S+ = subject = maximum positive assessment.

Where one considers all the problems which the subject is done positively.

example: if the subject of killing his friends, raped his sister, and sell them as slaves, and even treat his own mother as a sickly dog infectious - he’s still going to assume the person is TRUE. and NOT GUILTY AT ALL WRONG.

May Allah Bless You.

Solomon explores to find meaning through his work.

The experience of work is undoubtedly, similar in nature when it comes to the longevity and jobs that have been and are in pursuit. I do have to say through some of my job experiences, they were usually short in nature, and did not have much of a lasting effect. Other jobs that I have done, usually takes a constant pace and doing your duty for a longer term.

Through your toil, there are some things that impact on your life. I have had some work opportunities that gave me extra set of skills and experiences different from others. This is one of those things that make me a unique, different person that brings those things to the table. If you imagine, the additions you brought into your workplace created a better environment, increased productivity, or even impact for extra business opportunity.

Imagine if you will that all of your labor is completely changed to something totally different from your effort. There would be some feelings of angst, anger, or even sadness because all of your efforts were completely removed. This is an example of vexation that is made known through the wise man in Ecclesiastes.

Solomon makes an effort to work wisely, diligently, and with great labor. He describes his toil as a point of anger, “I hated all my toil… seeing that I must leave it to the man who will come after me (v. 18, ESV).” The toil in which you work for, or the wise man endured, was that all of the efforts made were a mere exasperation because someone else took his credit. The work made would not just give someone else credit, but that effort through work could get botched by someone else.

The work we do in our lives is rather difficult to accomplish, but there is joy completing work for you. If you were a writer and wanted your work to come into fruition, you would enjoy your work bringing massive returns. If your effort really pays off, you will enjoy the fruits of your labor. As Solomon also points out, “Nothing better for a person…find enjoyment in his toil. This is from the hand of God (v. 24-25, ESV).”

Here are some takeaways we can learn from Ecclesiastes 2:18-26.

Do you find your work frustrating?

How is your work making an impact?

What are you working for?

Are you allowing your work to benefit yourself or others? Why?

How are you enjoying the fruits of your labor?

This section of Ecclesiastes explores through the choices of living life between wisdom and folly.

Through the growth of information, we are so aware of all the things that surround us. We communicate daily with people, we are surrounded by all kinds of messages, and we develop an understanding on the general daily life. On a daily basis, how many of those people may seem like an idiot? How many times did you ask if you might have said something stupid? With any chance we have, something did not go the right way.

In the course of any context, we develop a better understanding on our friendships, relationships, and our so-so life with our co-workers. I imagine that with our mistakes, and seeing the mistakes of others that we understand human nature. If any of us were a perfectionist (or know of one) something about human nature is frustrating.

Either way, wisdom is a more developed nature that expels folly, and has an enduring impact on life. Through wisdom life seems bearable. As it is said, “Then I saw that there is more gain in wisdom than in folly (v. 13).” The perception of wisdom in life does have a lasting impact, but what use is it if the foolish expel the wisdom and make the rest of this world life in folly?

The vanity of wisdom in life is the grievous nature on the lasting impact. Death still happens, the life cycle continues, and the wind still keeps cycling. The wisdom would have become rediscovered if the real wisdom is not passed on from generation to generation. The choice still remains whether we choose to live wisely or with folly.

Here are some takeaways we can learn from Ecclesiastes 2: 12-17.

How can you give a lasting impact on your environment?

Where do you find wisdom, folly, and madness?

Why can this become so grievous in nature?

And what have you done that is left upon the future?

That is true, most humans and human-nature work this way.

There are things which are “common” and “orthodox” to the common people, and there are things that just doesn’t seem “right” or fit in the perceived “RIGHT” side of the brain. What exactly do i mean by this? Let us have a few examples. Some habits/activities/doings are morally/ethically right or wrong, but there is one thing about humans that keeps them so attached to right and wrong.

1. I trade the stock market with astrology. Most would percieve this as WRONG, SILLY, STUPID, and laugh at this. Many great traders use timing methods to time the market.

2. Iran has nuclear weapons. Oh wait no they can’t. Well why not? Because you are a threat and America says you are not allowed to. Hmm America is allowed to and Europe and UK most probably have nukes too but Iran can’t. “terrorist threat” my bum.

3. I am a guy and i do not masturbate. Eww what is wrong with you bro are you nuts, you gotta go enjoy life and go watch porn man…. (porn can be quite an addiction to males mostly and can deteriorate many aspects of life. just saying. But still come on porn… )(just saying.. none of this relates to me )

4. I am a guy but i like barbie dolls. I have to say even my brain says this is WRONG, but is it really? To have different taste in likes and not-likes from the majority is “wrong”? if you think about it, it isn’t wrong much.

5. “So Rachel, what kind of music do you like?” “I like Post-Hardcore, Grunge, and Death Metal. Power metal too, how about you Michelle? Michelle? Where did she go?

6. Instead of reading a newspaper in the bathroom, I bring a calculator. The Association of Male Proper Behaviour Institute Worldwide straight away banned him from being a member.

7. I like to sleep early at 6 pm. What man? come on.. .thats too early 5 am sounds a better idea trust me.

8. “Come on dude, lets get wasted here, and maybe after that we can $%^#$%^”. “I don’t think that’s a good idea, ill pass up on the drinks, and the #$%^&&^%$”. “Dude your weird get out of my sight”.

9. I like small tits. “oh really dude, u can’t like …..”. big is good small bad… big=good. small bad. remmeber that kay?

10. I like to think everything different is bad and wrong if they dont think alike to me, and i am always RIGHT!

TRUE!!

note: sarcasm is hinted in a lot of posts, and i DO NOT do any of these things posted. These are just out of the blue and i decided to write about it!hehe :p

Take care everyone!

As I go further into the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon pursues the life where he tries to fill his life with stuff. The the pursuit of possessions, the wise man still offers some of his words of wisdom.

In the very heart of the American culture, we are so overcome with owning stuff. In the pursuit of worldly goods, we think that owning the next thing or having the newest and greatest gadget will ultimately fill our life. I imagine that Solomon made this discovery in his own self-indulgence and found it very vain.

How can we have the perspective of owning all of these things and believing that our heart is truly set? In the passage from Ecclesiastes 2: 1-11, Solomon talks about all of the possessions, wealth, and becoming the wealthiest of individuals. He even says, “..of pleasure, ‘What use is it?’” (v. 2, ESV). He chased after alcohol, ownership, displays of wealth, and yet he still claims that this is not the pursuit of life.

Through his pursuit of all of these things, he still kept his wisdom. However, through all of the pursuits of his heart, he still felt empty through this endeavor. Through all of this pursuit, do you still chase after things that still have no meaning to it? Will not your possessions dwindle over time? Are you still lost in this pursuit?

In these many questions, this wise man did understand one thing. In verse 11, Solomon says, “Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity…” (ESV). You must ask yourself this question, what is there you can pursue that all of these things can become a reality for your life.

Here are some takeaways from this passage in Ecclesiastes 2:1-11.

Are you overfilling yourself with the things that make you happy?

Are you truly finding happiness through self-indulgence?

What type of impact are you making?

Which direction are you focusing on, and how far have you gone?

As I continue on my series through Ecclesiastes, Solomon explores through his attempt on finding meaning through wisdom and madness.

In becoming wise, Solomon has devoted his life into developing more wisdom and searching for it. In developing this wisdom, there is not much appreciation for where the work on this earth takes you. The man works, develops, and eventually see’s destruction of those things… and to start them all over again. Life continues on, and problems may increase based on how you live your life. The choices made can be either large or small differences.

The wisdom that Solomon tries to obtain is not the learning and knowledge that one can aspire with. I imagine that the wisdom that is attained is actually understanding and discernment. Where else can one try to become wise without knowing the meaning behind it? The point here is that it is easier for frustration to build when you know more. As much as knowledge is power, therefore problems could increase with those who do not understand that knowledge.

His great experience is through different perspectives of wisdom. In this, we can correlate the message of, “I applied my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly” (v. 17 ESV). I question whether he set forth to truly gain better perspective based on the self through this world. Life and work can lead you down a road that will be difficult to answer the question on your personal existence. The enjoyment you can find is very difficult to find when you attempt to find it for yourself. The questions for your life still remain, unless you keep reading into this book.

Here are some takeaways from Ecclesiastes 1:12-18.

Where are you putting your energies in your life?

Is the path you have chosen runs in circles that you do not understand the way out?

What do you think is the true break through the complexities of life, that everything can be enjoyable?

The following is an excerpt from Dougal Mac Gregor’s “The Path To The Stars”.

The Path To The Stars

By Dougal Mac Gregor

This booklet is a compilation of thoughts, reflections, and advices. This booklet is meant to help you understand the world around you better, arrive at better decisions, enhance the quality of your life, and ultimately find and complete your dreams. Please read each thought carefully, and take the time to mentally digest and understand it. Read them as many times as necessary for you to comprehend the message behind them. But most importantly; question everything, including that which is written here, and that which you take for granted or fact. You must never accept any one idea as the ultimate truth or fact; you may arrive at being 99.99% sure about an idea, but never accept it as 100% fact.

11. Objective or Subjective?

Something is subjective when it is based on personal interpretation, in other words, an opinion. Opinions are often things that cannot yet be measured.

Something is objective if it is not dependent on people’s perception, in other words, a fact. Facts are usually measurable in one way or another, and they are always perceived by everyone.

An example of a subjective thing is “cuteness”, because something can be attractive to person A but not to person B. This may change if we develop a means of categorizing and measuring things by how attractive they are based on some kind of rule or condition.

An example of an objective thing is “weight”, because weight is the same regardless of how it is perceived by each person. Additionally, weight can be measured and categorized regardless of people’s perception.

Advice: It may be difficult, but always remember the difference between objectiveness and subjectivity, and consider whether something is subjective or objective.

10. Illusion; Perception Makes Reality.

An illusion is something one or more people believe to be true, when in fact it is likely to be false or deceiving. To understand illusions better, we can make reference to the analogy of the realities in topic 9;

You are inside your house in your living room which has a window with a view of huge grasslands and mountains far away. Your neighbor is also inside his house in his living room which also has a window looking in the same direction. The view that you have of the outside may be very similar to the one your neighbor has, but it can never be identical. Say for example, that you are watching a large beautiful tree, which your neighbor can also see but from a slightly different angle. The tree happens to cover from your sight an ugly windmill that stand further behind. Your neighbor can see the windmill because the tree does not cover it from him as it does for you. This means that your neighbor is aware of the existence of the ugly windmill, while you are oblivious to it because you can’t see it, because the tree is on the way from your perspective.

Here the illusion is the tree blocking your view of the windmill. Although usually an illusion represents something that is real in your head but is not real in the external world, in this case the illusion is based on the tree which is a real object. For you, there is no ugly windmill because you cannot see it; therefore you have the illusion that there is only a beautiful panorama. However, your neighbor can see the windmill, so he is aware that the panorama is not as beautiful as you perceive it. The tree represents an illusion to you, but not to your neighbor, and because you cannot see the windmill, even if your neighbor tells you about it, you are unlikely to believe him it is there.

People often think that if something is not perceived by anyone it means it does not exist. Much like the question of “If a tree in a forest falls but no one is close by to hear it, does this mean that the sound of the collapsing tree does not exist? ” This is flawed thinking; and it goes hand in hand with the topic of Illusions. We perceive the external world with our senses, but people mistakenly think it works the other way around and assume that the only things that exist are the ones he can perceive through his senses. It is much more accurate to say that things exist whether we perceive them or not, the external world is independent to our perception, while our perception is totally dependent on the external world.

However, today’s human society is so unaware of this structure that people live in mirror worlds rather than the real one, and you can be easily judged insane by people who do not perceive something that you may be perceiving. For this reason, even if your senses are more developed, or if you can somehow perceive things that others cannot, it is safer for you to pretend that something that you perceive but others don’t does not exist. Especially since it is now widely known that our brains can malfunction and our minds can trick us by creating things in our minds that are not really there in the external world (like schizophrenia), and for this reason people automatically think your brain is malfunctioning if you perceive something they don’t and they call you insane, even if that is not the case.

This is how society works:

If everyone can see, or hear, or smell, or taste, or touch, or feel it, then it is real. If it cannot be perceived by multiple people, then it is not real.

This is how it should really work:

If everyone can sense (see, hear, smell etc.) it, then it is probably real.

If only one person can sense it, then it might not be real, but it could still be.

If no one can perceive it, it might not exist, but it could still exist.

Advice: Be wary, people do not see the world as you see it, and vice versa. If you detect things others do not, you should seek methods of verifying that what you perceive is real in the external world, such as finding other people who can also detect it. Because if you remain the only person able to perceive something; you risk not only being tagged as insane, but being in fact tricked by your mind. By the same reason, always take into consideration what others perceive and not only what you perceive, because they might be able to perceive something you yet can’t (illusion).

9. Realities

For each person, there are at least three kinds of realities; the one in their head, the external one in which we all live, and the one in everyone else’s head. However, most people live their daily lives convinced that there is only one reality, they claim it to be the one we all live in, usually unaware that the reality that they are referring to is in fact the one in their head rather than the external one we all live in. Because people do not put enough thought to the matter, they just go about taking for granted what happens in their head thinking that it is the external world.

To help you understand this very confusing topic, visualize the following:

In this analogy we have several things happening:

There are three realities going on; the one you see from inside your living room, the one your neighbor sees from his perspective, and the external one outside. In other words; the one in your head, the one in your neighbor’s head, and the external reality which is in no one’s head. It is difficult to judge which reality is more real, because they may all be equally as real. However, it may be safe to assume that since the realities in our head cannot exist without the external one, perhaps we can say that the external reality is “the real one”, because the reality in our head is merely a projection of the external one that we get through our senses.

Another thing to point out in this analogy is that the tree that blocks your view from the windmill can resemble an illusion. See Illusion; Perception Makes Reality.

Subjective matters are usually making reference to the reality in our head, while Objective matters often make reference to the external reality. See Objective or Subjective?.

Advice: It is difficult, but try to always keep in mind that each head, including yours, is a different reality from each other and from the external one. It could be safe to assume that the external world is “the real one”, even though we may never be able to completely know what it is like exactly.

8. Destiny

We may be able to make decisions and choose our fate (at least based on what we know at the time), but it is also true that we are bound to other external constraints besides our memory. Everything in the environment is interconnected and is constantly reacting to each other (see Cause and Effect), much like a Domino Effect.

People like to think that the universe works like the human mind; based on reason. For the same reason, people like to believe that the universe is “fair”, meaning that if you do harm to others, the universe will harm you, and vice versa. Some people call this theory KARMA (yet others call it God’s will). Whether this is true or not, the ultimate fact that we know for sure is that we have a lot less control over our fate than we like to think we do or wish we did.

Here is an analogy to destiny:
Take control of the wheel, but choose wisely the road you will take.

This analogy makes allusion to the fact that we do not create our fate, but rather choose it. (And even our choice is not entirely under our control, see Free Will).

Advice: You do what you can do best, and KARMA (or the universe, or God, or whatever) will take care of the rest. Play it safe by helping instead of harming, just in case KARMA is true.
