The year of tiger is quickly approaching and with every new generation, it brings these marvelous wild animals, one step closer to the brink of extinction. In memory of the tiger I present this digital photo gallery featuring 20 stunning, images of captive breed tigers.

The black and white pictures in this collection were taken with a one minute developing Polaroid in 1963. Color shots were taken with a Nikon D-80.

Postmortem photography would be a huge taboo in today’s society, but in Victorian times it was commonplace and almost an art form.

It seems that the first British colour photographs of the final surrender of the Germans to the Allies have just come to light almost 65 years after they were taken.

But then they will most likely chicken out when they are given just that opportunity.
