Our society is plagued with cases of abuse against women. It is such a painful experience and I know it first hand. Infact the physical and sexual abuse I suffered and then the consequent recovery from its trauma, that has what prompted me to start writing. Therefore, it is only fitting for me to debut on Triond with my own story. I just hope that reading my story will motivate other girls like me to speak out and end the brutality they are facing.

My sister remained a victim of abuse about two years back. Her boyfriend used to physically abuse her and sexually exploit her. I was afraid that this emotional and physical trauma will taint her so badly that her life would become empty of joy. But she remained strong and she became a survivor. I am writing this in honour of my sister and all others who survived sexual abuse and are now living a normal life. This article is to help those who have not yet recovered from their painful experiences.
