Why, the mean dude actually was going to make his own daughter sacrifice her life to save his, having lived all of his already, and her being so young, so full of life, and with so much ahead of her still. How she could love or care for such a man is beyond anybody; and how she could want to avenge him is even further from possible comprehension.

But who could possibly understand the love that a daughter has for her father, or that a pirate could possibly have for the thrill of adventure, the smell of the sea, and the fear of near-certain death?
