Here are some steps about how to be a detective in your own house.

Have you ever been amazed by detective movies and shows? Didn’t you always want to be like a detective? Well, here are some steps to get started!

Step 1: Get yourself the equipment, magnifying glass, binoculars, a cloth, graphite powder or aluminum powder, a camera, a notepad, a pencil, transparent tape, dentist’s gloves, a brush and some ink for taking fingerprints.

Step 2: Get used to examine everything carefully, take notes, photos and fingerprints. To take a fingerprint, sprinkle some of the powder you got from step 1 where you think there might be a fingerprint. Lightly use the brush it until you can see the fingerprint, carefully place some tape on it and put it on your notepad. Don’t forget to specify where you found it and when, and NEVER forget to use the gloves while doing that, or you might get your own fingerprints. Try to find clues.

Step 3: Get to know the area, for example, know what kind of soil is found where. You might see one of the suspects with a different kind of soil on his shoes, so you’ll know where he’s been. You should know any shortcuts around, because that will be very useful for the next step.

Step 4: When you are following a suspect, don’t get too close to him. If he looks back, don’t try to hide, just act casually. But don’t let him see you more than once! If he already knows you, don’t ever let him see you while following him. If he turns back, hide, run, just don’t let him recognize you and use different clothes next time. Don’t forget to take note of where he has been, at what time and what he did. TAKE PHOTOS OF HIM!

Step 5: If you’ve found a few fingerprints, take fingerprints from your suspects to compare. Don’t forget that the first fingerprint you took is inverted, so you should invert the new one as well. Ask questions, put the suspect under pressure and take note of everything he answers. You should have the questions written down before doing so. Ask some questions that you already know the answer to, to see if he lies or not. Example: “Where were you yesterday at 8 o’clock in the morning?” (You have seen where he was and you took a photo as a proof.).

Step 6: Gather all your notes and clues and form a theory with them, WITHOUT DISTORTING THE FACTS! People are used to make a theory before knowing the facts, and they distort the facts so that they go with their theory. That’s a huge mistake. The facts must make the theory by themselves.

Hope this helped you! Please rate and comment!

Nature has provided us with the beauty of flowers, so that, in our moments of reflection, we feel elated with the thought that life is precious and that, in spite of tension and stress, we could turn to one of Nature's wonders for inspiration and relaxation.

Types of flowers:

There are thousands of different kinds of flowers, such as water lilies that grow on plants on the surface of water, and mistletoe that are parasites, living on trees. There are families of flowering plants, such as the grass family, the lily family and the iris family. A particular species of iris grows from a rhizome, a type of root, shaped like a long, thin potato, planted in the ground. Some flowering plants are climbers, sending out shoots that climb walls and fences. Some of these are bushes and shrubs.

Composition:

A flower has four, main parts: The calyx is the outside part, in the shape of a cup, usually green, holding the flower together. It is attached to the stem of the plant. Within the calyx are colorful petals, which, when taken together, is called the corolla, surrounding the heart of the flower. The heart of the flower is of a different color from the petals, consisting of a group of tiny stems with heads, sprinkled with a little powder. The tiny hairs are called stamens. The powder is called pollen. The amount of stamens equals the amount of petals. Stamens are in a circle within which is the carpel, a small spike. The ovules or eggs are the seed of the flower, situated at the base of the carpel. The pollen on the stamens must get into the carpel and down to the ovules, facilitated by bees and insects.

History:

The appearance of flowers on the earth began in the Mesozoic Age, a hundred million to two hundred million years ago. These started to grow profusely, with jungles of trees and with huge leaves on them. There were dense forests of deciduous trees, covering the mountainous parts of the earth. Flowers proliferated in enough sunlight and heat, attracting insects that survived mainly because there were plants to feed on. At the same time, flowers endured because insects carried their pollen. Gradually, flowers turned more and more colorful as well as highly-scented, while continuing to attract insets. Their petals started to get thicker, supporting the weight of the insects that settled on the flower, in order to suck its sweet juices.

Symbols:

Man began acknowledging the beauty and splendor of flowers. Poets started to uplift and praise them as a source of their inspiration. Flowers became national emblems and were selected as badges by military conquerors, symbolizing their victories. The rose, known as the “flower of flowers,” became England’s national flower; the thistle became Scotland’s national flower; the shamrock was acknowledged by the Irish. So far, the United States does not have a national flower; however, the goldenrod is widely acknowledged nationally. The states, however, have adopted flowers as emblems. Iowa acknowledges the wild rose; Maine, the pine cone and tassel; Michigan, the apple blossom, Nebraska, the goldenrod; Oregon, the Oregon grape; Vermont, the red clover; Colorado, the columbine; Oklahoma, the mistletoe. The poppy was voted as a favorite by school children in California; in Idaho, the syringa; in Kansas, the sunflower; in Minnesota, the moccasin; in Nevada, the sagebrush; in Washington, the rhododendron; in Georgia, the Cherokee rose; in New york, the wild rose.

Meaning:

Flowers are used liberally at weddings and as church decorations; at funerals, and as presentations to distinguished guests, usually women. Flowers are displayed as prizes. and lavished on women that are admired and loved. For example, one red rose means “I love you.” White roses in bridal bouquets symbolize “happy love.” Lilies in churches and religious ceremonies symbolize “purity.”

The following list of flowers convey messages that are meaningful:

Apple blossom: Preference. Buttercup: Riches; Candy-tuft: Indifference; Cornflower: Heaven; Cowslip: Youthful beauty; Daisy: Simplicity; Dandelion: Flirtation; Everlastings: Undying affection; Four-leafed clover: Good luck; Foxglove: Insincerity; Geranium: Deceit; Goldenrod: Encouragement; Heather: Loneliness; Hepatica: Anger; Honeysuckle: Faithfulness; Lilac: Neatness; Marigold: Contempt; Orange blossom: Marriage; Rosemary: Remembrance; Snowdrop: A friend in need; Sweet William: Gallantry; Tulip: Boldness; Violet: Modesty.

The following are flowers to send on a person’s birthday:

January: Carnation or Snowdrop; February: Violet or Primrose; March: Jonquil or daffodil; April: Sweet pea or Daisy; May: Lily of the Valley; June: Rose or Honeysuckle; July: Larkspur or Water lily; August: Poppy or Gladiolus; September: Aster or Morning Glory; October: Calendula or Cosmos; November: Chrysanthemum; December: Narcissus or Holly.

Fingerprints are unique. Not a single person on earth has the same fingerprint as you, even your identical twin. Fingerprints are very useful. They can help to identify people, help catch criminals and gives you a better grip on smooth things.

Our fingerprints are very special. You might have the same eye color as someone else, the same shaped nose and, if you’re an identical twin, you might even have a face that looks the same, but not a single person on earth has the same fingerprints as you.

Fingerprints are the patterns on the pads of your fingers made by tiny ridges in the outer layer of your skin, called the epidermis. These ridges help you get a better grip on smooth things. This is particularly important if you’re climbing trees and swinging between branches. All primates, including monkeys and apes, have fingerprints.

Most importantly, fingerprints help to catch criminals. Dactyloscopy is the use of fingerprints to identify people and it has been used by police for more than a hundred ears.

Every time you touch something you leave sweat and oil prints which are the same pattern as your fingerprints. Criminals often leave very clear fingerprints because the stress of carrying out a crime causes them to sweat more than usual.

While this fingerprints are usually invisible, police can make them visible by dusting them with a fine powder or spraying them with fine chemicals.

Once a fingerprint is developed, it can be compared with images on police files. When comparing fingerprints, police look for particular patterns called arches, loops and whorls.

Many famous crimes have been solved using fingerprints. Unlike people, fingerprints don’t lie.

Gunpowder originated in China and had many useful purposes.

This explosive powder was made by grinding three ingredients: Sulfur, charcoal, and saltpeter (potassium nitrate). Peasants were the one’s who more than likely made the gunpowder. A skill the pezants who made this powder had to be extrmely careful and have a lot of diligence. One false move all the gunpowder would explode in their face. One use for this was for fire arrows.

The Chinese would strap a cartage filled with gunpowder onto a thin piece of bamboo and launch it from a bow. Soon they figured out it could take off on it’s own by its gases. Thus the rocket was born. It would sometimes be use for skin treatments and for insect killer and repellent. The military used its explosive content for war. It became a big advantage and advancement in defeating its enemies. This influence has not changed much in culture. It is still used for the same purposes as they have been for hundreds of years. The most interesting part of this project in my opinion was how the chinese figured out the explosive mixure.

What the Chinese have invented and what they discovered in the past.

The Chinese have created many different kinds of inventions in the

past. They invented the compass, silk, and many other amazing things. The

Chinese led the world in shipbuilding technologies and found iron casting

around the sixth century, when they mixed copper and tin together. In this

report, I will explain what the Chinese Invented and what those inventions

were used for.

Ships and Navigation

The Chinese made modern boats with magnetic compasses to help

sailors know which way to go, sternpost rudders to steer them in any direction

they wanted, watertight compartments to protect cargo from leaks in other

parts of the ship, and they also used rowboats for landing when there were

no docks. Compasses were made by heating pieces of ore to red hot

temperatures and then cooling the pieces in a north/south position, the

magnet was then placed on a piece of reed and floated in a bowl of water

marked with directional bearings. Compasses weren’t just used to find your

way around, they were also used to see if your house was faced in perfect

harmony with nature. This meant they thought if your house faced magnetic

Gunpowder

Chinese scientist discovered that an explosive mixture could be

produced. This is known today as gunpowder which was invented

during the 1000‘s. Gunpowder was 10% sulfur, 15% powder charcoal, and

75% potassium nitrate. New weapons were rapidly developed, including

rockets and others that were launched from a bamboo tube. Other uses for

gunpowder were fireworks and signals.

Silk

Silk was first made by the Chinese 4,000 years ago. Silk thread is

made from the cocoon of the silkworm moth, a small moth whose caterpillar

eats the leaves of mulberry trees. According to Chinese legend, the first silk

thread was made when the Chinese empress Si-Ling-Chi was sitting under a

mulberry tree and cocoon fell into her tea. She noticed the strong, silky

threads of the cocoon uncoiling, she then developed the use of silk. Silk soon

became very important to the economy of China. The Chinese traded the

precious silk to the rest of the world via the silk road. Each cocoon yields

about 500 to 1,200 yards of silk.

Paper

The craft of paper making relied upon an abundance of bamboo fiber

or other fibrous material to produce a fine quality paper. Paper is made by

grinding plant material into a pulp, forming it into thin sheets, and drying it

into a form. This process was invented in A.D. 105 by Cai Lun, a Chinese

official and a member of the Chinese imperial court, about 2,000 years

ago. He originally used the waste from silk production. Early Chinese paper

was made from the bark of the mulberry tree and other plants fibers.

Sometime during the Han dynasty, 206 B.C.- A.D. 220 paper and ink were

invented. During 686 A.D. the earliest book ever known was printed.

These inventions are celebrated in Chinese culture for their historical

significance and as sign’s of ancient China’s advanced science and

technology and contribution to the world that had tremendous effects on

human civilization and development by people. These 4 discoveries had an

enormous impact on Chinese civilization and the far-ranged world.
