. Make no doubt about it, Our President is a Soul singer. His quick thinking Campaign Staff released a play-list on assorted social media and you can hear the mix on Spotify Hey if you like Soul music you are bound to enjoy this. There is, I understand, Soul music for all to enjoy.
I read in the News today that President Barrack Obama’s re-election team has issued its 2012 campaign play-list, the two dozen or so songs it will play to pump up supporters at his speeches and rallies. I know that we the people just can’t wait. This has got to be something the Republicans can’t overcome. We heard Mitt and to him we say quit. Newt won’t try and Santorium is too self minded. Ron Paul is still looking back to the days of Swing. Can he sing?
The tracks include some old favorites — like Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together,” which Obama sang himself at a recent New York fundraiser, and “Your Smiling Face,” by James Taylor, a supporter who has sung at Obama fundraisers and appeared at a state dinner in June in honor of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The way I understand it, I was told that.that there is a nod to its younger fans, and the campaign posted the list and the Spotify link on its Tumblr site with the note “No casting aspersions on Earth, Wind & Fire, now.”
Now, what is so surprising in a year when Hispanic voters are expected to play a huge and possibly decisive role in the election, while there are British and Canadian acts, just one Latin artist makes the list. Puerto Rican-born Ricky Martin has a duet with British singer Joss Stone, ”The Best Thing About Me Is You” that will perk up the ears of those who love the reggae beat.
In a day when we no longer have Don Cornelius and Soul Train, we still have President Obama and White House Soul. America still has Soul

This is the final of three articles that depict a busy day and tense day in Cambridge, Maryland.

Both President Obama and Vice President Biden came to the Cambridge, Maryland Hyatt on January 27 to address their fellow democrats during their retreat at the resort.

The first article showed some of the tight security. “Some” because I sure did not care to nose around too much in the area. Be it known to all that the agencies charged to protect our leaders mean business to do so.

The second article had pictures of Vice-President Biden’s motorcade leaving the Hyatt.

This article will show President Obama’s motorcade arriving at the Hyatt. My schedule made it so that I could not cover President Obama leaving. However, I was able to get one more picture of the Capitol police.

All pictures were taken by me, copyright 2012.

This looks like three Capitol Police cycles leaving the Hyatt. I’m guessing they were to go to the Cambridge-Dorchester County airport to be part of President Obama’s motorcade.

A TV news reporter prepares a young girl for an interview across from the Hyatt.

With President Obama minutes away a helicopter again makes a security sweep over the area.

Usually when the President travels, at least as observed from his visits to Cambridge, there are three helicopters, the President being on one of them. Today there was only two at first and here they are seen heading to our local airport.

Now, the third helicopter follows them in.

Shortly after the helicopters were sighted, traffic was stopped again. Here is eastbound U.S. 50 being closed.

A small crowd gathered nearby me to watch the motorcade.

A lead security vehicle was ahead of the motorcade.

Now, a possible problem. A bicyclist approaches the Hyatt. Police there waved him on to go by, and he cut across to the eastbound lane of U.S. 50. I am not sure if this was a mistake or not.

Security vehicles follow shortly after the bicyclist passes the Hyatt. These vehicles were stopped and blockaded a portion of the road while a third vehicle (shown in second picture) came down westbound U.S. 50 and swung around heading eastbound. Bystanders to my left acted like the trooper stopped the bicyclist.

Lead cyclists head the motorcade.

Lead vehicles.

President Obama is in one of these vehicles, and there is at least one more behind these in the first photo. I do not think he was in the first one because, in the next photograph, I believe that vehicle stopped. I am guessing he was in the second vehicle.

White vans followed.

The remainder of the motorcade.

Due to scheduling, I was unable to catch the President leaving, later in the afternoon I was able catch some Capitol Police getting something to eat. “You deserve a break today,” but McDonald’s is closed (really torn down) for renovation and, besides, Arby’s is better.

Notes:

Part one was Tight Security in Cambridge, Maryland for President and Vice-president 2012 Visit.

Part two was Motorcade of Vice-president Joe Biden Leaving The Cambridge Hyatt January 27, 2012.

In no way should it be construed that I favor the re-election of Barack Obama as President of the United States. Currently, I support Rick Santorum. These articles were produced out of the desire to share a small piece of history with others giving due respect to our Nation’s leaders and to the dedicated personnel on all levels who protect our leaders during such visits.

When the President goes on vacation who foots the bill?

When you go on vacation who pays for it? You do right? This is probably why so many of us go without vacations. I know I did this year and am not even sure when I will see another one as I simply cannot afford it. Yet, when our President Barack Obama goes on vacation he doesn’t pay for it, or at least not most of it. Guess who does. Yep, that’s right, we the taxpayer’s do.

Now I will start off by saying that I was proud to have voted for President Barack Obama. And in light of the state the economy and heathcare were in when he came into office I feel that he is making progress. And of course we all know that it took years for things to get this bad so fixing it all over-night is just not going to happen. Yet, as hard as he is working does he deserve to use taxpayers money on a four million dollar vacation?

While many of us are struggling to make ends meet and barely able to keep our houses and food on our tables our President and his family will be in Hawaii. And not only are they going on vacation but they are travelling seperately so it will cost double the amount to get them to their destination safely. Oh and lets not forget that while on his private beach front home (the one thing he does pay for) we the taxpayers will be paying for his entourage to stay their and keep him safe. Yes, the Coast Guard, Secret Service and Navy Seals all need a place to stay and we get to pay for it! Is it just me or does this seem unfair? Not to mention that the money used on his vacation could be used to help the economy or provide jobs!

Read an analysis on why the Iraq war was not worth it.

The war between the United States and Iraq is drawing to a close. Although we can be proud of this, we should mainly feel sad about our involvement. Before we invaded Iraq in March 2003, I watched then-President George W. Bush on television trying to make his case for the invasion. He talked about preventing Iraq from using weapons of mass destruction. The CIA’s final report said that those weapons were not found.

According to Yahoo! News, President Barack Obama sought to declare a noble end to a war that led to almost 4,500 American fatalities and 32,000 injuries by declaring that the conflict was ending “not with a final battle, but with a final march toward home.” Iraqbodycount.org says that the number of Iraqis who died in this conflict ranges anywhere from 104,080 to 113, 728. These figures are appalling. I do not see anything noble about this war. It was started without having solid evidence of Iraq having weapons of mass destruction. Secondly, that country neither bothered us nor presented an imminent danger to us. Also, not too many nations supported our invasion. According to About.com Guide, the only nation that provided significant support to the United States was Britain with its 7,100 troops. I do not think it is a good idea to unilaterally start a war.

This war was tragic. Tens of thousands of people on both sides have lost their lives or been seriously wounded. This situation makes me recall the story of Tammy Duckworth losing both of her legs and having her right arm damaged in the war. Veterans who have been seriously wounded like her might have to deal with having a poor quality of life until they die. Additionally, we lost acceptance throughout the world.

The massive loss of life, severe injuries to those on both sides of the war and the contempt we have received around the world helped turn me against the war. Besides, I generally do not support wars. I will conclude by admitting I do not think any nation should be attacked if it is not causing trouble or threatening to cause trouble.

A MAJOR step in the precise path!!!! We’re completely THRILLED to listen to this!!!

Again in July, we were more than happy to listen to that President Barack Obama was transferring forward with his assist of the repeal of the Protection of Marriage Act (DOMA).

As a reminder, DOMA “allows states not to acknowledge identical-intercourse marriages carried out in different states and gives a federal definition for ‘marriage’ that excludes same-intercourse couples.”

Now, we have learned that the Senate Judiciary Committee has voted to move forward with a invoice THAT WOULD REPEAL THE DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT! HOORAY!!!!!

The invoice was introduced into the Senate again in March by hero/Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, and it NOW has 30 cosponsors!

We’ll look forward to listening to extra about this soon! We are making SO MUCH progress on the street to marriage equality!

Shakira, Colombian-born artist, was appointed as a member of the Advisory Commission on Public Education for Hispanics in the U.S., with a group of education advocates and fighters.

The White House said one reason for choosing Shakira founded the Barefoot Foundation is its role, which built many schools in Latin America and South Africa. Shakira also had worked with the World Bank, also in the field of education.

Grammy Award winner will be in Washington, DC, on Thursday afternoon local time, October 20, 2011, to attend the swearing-in and discuss with other commission members.

Shakira is famous with his song “Hips Do not Lie” was also a guest blogger on the White House website. In his blog, he emphasized the importance of Latin in order to help youth succeed in their education.

“I hope, through my designation in this commission, I can share what I’ve learned over 15 years involved in the education of children Latin. As we know, race and identity should not be a factor determining success or failure of a child,” said he, as published by FoxNews.

Hispanic Education Commission began work last May. The addition of Shakira – whose real name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll – as a member is part of Obama’s policies to approach the Hispanic community, including the celebrity.

Alleged, Shakira can get a position on the committee that because Obama needed it as a sound panners. The voice of the Hispanic community is very important for success in the upcoming presidential election campaign, especially in swing-state, states that his voice could be a decisive victory, like Florida.

Last May, Obama also invited celebrities Eva Longoria and Amilio Estefan in the Cinco De Mayo event that was held at the White House. Both celebrities were members of the National Museum of the American Latino Commission.

President Barack Obama's big panic! Congress members gave their phone numbers to guys in Gay Nightclub! It's all happening folks!

Image via Wikipedia

According to the press,on 13th July 2011, the President told them he “sorta freaked out” because he had not had a phone call, email or written briefing in the previous 24 hours. He seemed unsettled by this rather than thinking “happy days, less work to do and I still get paid!” He actually watched CNN to make sure that telecommunications had not been disrupted. Maybe he even wondered if he had been ousted from his post? It is definitely odd that the President of the United States of America had absolutely no communications for 24 hours. I bet he checked his cell phone to see if it had been charged and there were enough bars on it to receive calls. I know I would have. Maybe the technical staff of the White House pulled the plug for a while to check if there were any espionage bugs or if hacking was going on.

According to eye witness reports there were 535 members of congress in a gay nightclub called Mermaids, where they were said to have given out their numbers to a lot of guys in the club. Business or pleasure I ask myself? This was in Washington on 18th July 2011 and one wonders what size that nightclub was if 535 members of congress were in there with all the regular customers. One heck of a big nightclub! And… okay… you can not convince me that 535 congress men are gay or even bisexual. So what if a few are? The President is cool on gay rights, just a bit oblivious about the issue of gay marriage.

The world economy is in a mess due to debt. President Obama is debating the issue of the debt ceiling. What exactly does the Bible say about debt? Read on...

The United States government are debating the raising of the debt ceiling, the world’s governments all seem to be in debt. They are punishing their citizens by imposing cuts on the least well off instead of holding their hands up to having failed. They are the ones who got into this debt. They should be the ones to get out of it sensibly, fairly and not penalising the poorest members of society for their own bad handling of public money. Their poor stewardship should be the issue dealt with.

Image via Wikipedia

When I hear prosperity preachers talking about the “law of sowing and reaping” I cringe as they invariably go on to tell people to “sow a money seed” into their ministry making them prosper for sure, but they tell people to pay by credit card. Credit card? Get real! Credit cards are a rip off, high interest rates that plunge people further into debt. Before sowing a “money seed” remember that a coin doesn’t grow into a money tree, and get back to the Word. God created everything and everything is His and… surprise, surprise… He doesn’t need your money. He wants your obedience and worship and check out what He has to say about debt:

Paul said in Romans 13:8 that we are to owe nothing but love. Although there is no commandment about debt in the Bible, it does warn against it. The Bible does have words of warning for lenders who abuse those who are tied to them by debt, but it does not condemn the debtor.

We all complain about interest rates and yes, I do believe they are exorbitant and unfair, and the Bible does discuss this issue. In it we see that a fair interest rate is expected to be received on borrowed money (Proverbs 28:8; Matthew 25:27). In ancient Israel the Law did prohibit charging interest on one category of loans. This may surprise you, but the prohibition applied to loans made to the poor (Leviticus 25:35-38). That makes sense to me. This law had many social, financial, and spiritual implications, but two in particular are well worth mentioning.

Firstly, the Biblical Law genuinely helped the poor by not making their situation worse. Credit cards and loans today really do make peoples situations worse. I have known people who apply for credit cards to pay their credit cards, increasing their problems by making it totally impossible to get out of debt. Do the maths folks – you buy a dress at £35 and pay that off on a credit card over a period of a year. How much are you actually paying for that dress? Check your interest rates and get the calculator out and I guarantee you will be shocked! It is bad enough to have fallen into poverty or money problems, and humiliating to have to go to Citizens Advice or other agencies to look for help, but crippling interest payments is a big issue.

Secondly, the Biblical Law taught an important spiritual lesson. A lender waiving interest to a poor person would be an act of mercy. He would be losing the use of that money while it was loaned out, but it would be a noticeable way of expressing gratitude to God for His mercy in not charging His people “interest” for the grace He has extended to them. Just as God mercifully brought the Israelites out of Egypt when they were slaves and gave them a land of their own (Leviticus 25:38), so He expected them to express similar kindness to their own poor citizens. This is the situation that all believers in God find themselves in.

The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus paid our sin debt to God. Now, as we have opportunity to help others in need, particularly fellow believers, with loans that do not intensify their problems. Jesus taught a parable about two creditors and their attitude toward forgiveness in Matthew 18:23-35.

The Bible neither expressly forbids nor condones the borrowing of money. The wisdom of the Bible teaches us that it is not a good idea to go into debt. Debt essentially makes us a slave to the one who provides the loan. In some circumstances going into debt is a “necessary evil,” but as long as money is being handled wisely and the debt payments are manageable, there is not a problem.

The issue of a National Debt is one of concern as political leaders are not believers and do not make Biblical decisions. They do need to be drawn back to the fact that they made the mistake in the first place and that punishing the poor is not the way forward, nor is it going to gain them votes in the next elections. The real issue is that they have to face facts and realise that they have spent foolishly. They must prioritise their spending and stop lashing out cash on schemes which do not benefit their own countries. They need to make decisions about staying out of other countries wars and encouraging these countries to find their own solutions. War is not only stupid but very costly and if the world governments said “No” sometimes, it would likely be a wake up call to the countries who want their help. Nations should stand on their own feet, come of age and implement their own laws to the best of their ability.

The rest of us ordinary mortals should stop letting lenders rob us, start doing things the old-fashioned way again and save to buy things. Stop letting the advertisers tempt you into debt. That is encouraging covetousness. As a believer, thou shalt not covet… right? The issue of covetousness also applies to and is the root of prosperity preaching so remember the fact: God meets your needs, not your greeds.

True! President Barack Obama's birth certificate has been subpoened. Threads to stories on ths have been pulled. Why? What is the secret? The controversy which led to the White House posting a copy of his birth certificate on the official website goes on...

Yeah… I have read all the gossip about President Obama’s birth certificate, the suggestions made regarding it and the hype about it. I even went online to check out the birth certificate on the White House website. I did wonder at the time why they went to such lengths. I thought – if the story is false why not just brush it under the carpet and forget about it? I guess the answer is: It is a story which won’t go away!

All threads to this have been pulled. Why? If there is nothing to this, why has this been done? Fact: Honolulu United States Court served a subpoena on the director of the Hawaii Health Department for a copy of the President’s birth certificate. The subpoena was served on 5th July 2011. A process server delivered a Hawaii court-issued subpoena to Loretta J. Fuddy, Director of the Hawaii Department of Health, ordering her “to produce at the time, date, and place set forth below the following documents, electronically stored information, or objects, and permit their inspection, copying testing, or sampling of the material:” Really! So, what is that all about?

Check this out!

What do you make of all this? What has Triond’s Ulsterman got to say about it? Nothing! Absolutely nothing! His alleged “insider” must have been sleeping! What we want is insider information about things like this Ulsterman, not yesterday’s news presented as a big revelation.
