This article gives you links to sites which can teach you real life Jedi skills including, telekinesis, psychic ability and Jedi mind tricks.

Star Wars… Just the mention of the title, immediately conjures up vivid images of Obi Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Darth Vader and their battle between good and evil.

When Star Wars was released in 1977, it became a massive sci-fi hit, and has so far amassed a staggering $775 million in box office takings throughout the world.

In addition to introducing us to the wonderful, colourful characters, it also introduced us to Jedi Knights and Masters, and their use of the Force.

Surprisingly it appears that the concept of being a Jedi, is what has secured the films longevity with success and popularity. There are many individuals who believe in the principals of being a Jedi, and that the Force really does exist. Their belief in the Force and being a real Jedi, was so strong, that many tried to have Jediism, recognised as a religion.

Whilst Jediism, unfortunately did not become recognised as a religion, I believe that it is possible to learn some of the basic skills associated with being a Jedi and their use of the Force.

Jedi Name

All good Jedi’s need a name, so before you start your training, make sure you obtain your name first of all:

http://www.xach.com/misc/jedi.html

Embracing The Force

The Force appears to be based on similar principles of that of Eastern religions such as Taoism & Buddhism. Eastern religions refer to Qi, Ki or Chi, which, is an invisible, universal life energy (just like the Force). By harnessing the power of Qi, Ki or Chi, it is believed that you will be able to heal yourself or others or apply the principal to martial arts to greater effect for attack or defence.

Check out the following link to help you learn how to feel the Force:

Telekinetic Powers

In the Star Wars franchises, there are many occasions where objects or persons are thrown or moved by the Force, in the form of telekinetic powers. Whilst it may take a long time to gain the strength to pluck an X-Wing out of the swamps of Dagobah, the following link will help you to practice your telekinetic skills.

http://www.psychic-experiences.com/psychic-tests/telekinesis-test.php

Psychic Powers

In the Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker starts to develop the ability to see the future in his dreams. Whether this is a skill that all Jedi’s have, or whether the powers vary from individual to individual is not clear – but here is another link that will help you develop your skills:

http://www.psychicscience.org/esp3.aspx#

Jedi Mind Tricks

A very memorable part of the Star Wars movie was where Obi Wan used a Jedi mind trick, to get past the Stormtroopers stating “these aren’t the droids you are looking for”. He also advised “the Force can have an influence on the weak minded.”

Jedi mind tricks can be likened to hypnosis, whereby planting subtle suggestions or “seeds” of information into someone’s mind, can help influence or manipulate that person to your way of thinking.

If you want to learn how to create your own Jedi mind tricks – you might want to learn the art of conversation hypnosis:

http://fd09cnlklzju5vezz11crl-hv8.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=JEDIKNIGHT

However, be warned – learning conversational hypnosis is very powerful. If you don’t believe me, check out a real example of a Jedi mind trick!

Hopefully the above skills will help you well on your way to becoming a real life Jedi Knight. If you do well in your training, and learn to train others, you may even have the making of a Jedi Master.

I wish you well in your training, and may the Force be with you!

Why halloween is the best night of the year and why role-playing is sexy.

So let’s face it, every day life is fairly boring. The sky is grey, the buildings are concrete and reality isn’t a lot of fun. So the rare occasions when we get to dress up and escape the dreariness are definitely worth cherishing. All of us (most of us) are stuck in a single career most of our lives and it’s not that satisfying. By pretending, we get to experience different aspects of life which we would normally never have access to. There’s an enormous fantasy world out there which we never get to be a part of. Dragons, spaceships and pirates simply don’t exist in this world but it’s so much fun to pretend, just for a few hours. How many of you can honestly say that you wouldn’t love to see a girl in a Princess Leia slave costume wandering about? I use that example because I happened to actually see one last week at a pop culture convention and it was awesome. She was so sick of getting hit on she wore a t-shirt over her costume for the majority of the day.

A lot of people make the point that people who dress up or hide behind a costume are either lacking in self confidence or not happy with themselves. I’m not endorsing pathological, chronic costume-wearing, just advocating the fun of mixing up the routine and escaping reality for a little bit. Also, dressing up allows you to experience the company or someone who you’ll never meet in the comfort and safety of your own home. Like if you have a thing for Batman, you can just talk your boyfriend into wearing the outfit And if you happen to be wearing a Joker costume, where’s the harm?

Image via Wikipedia

Sorry if I deeply disturbed anyone with that last example, it’s a subject close to my heart. That may not be your fantasy, but everyone has then and it’s healthy to explore them. If you want to experience something different, out of the realm of the ordinary, them you can – safely.

I also believe that the outfits we choose to dress up in say a lot about ourselves. That’s why halloween is such a great night, you find out a lot about your friends. There’ll always be hoardes of young women in skin-tight cat outfits (which I’m not complaining about by the way) but I love seeing really unique outfits.

Essentially, role playing is a fun and exciting option which is open to all of us to expand our realm of experience outside the ordinary; escape the square we live in every day - just for a little while.
