This piece referred to a speech FED Chairman Ben Bernancke in 2002 where he has done everything he said he would do if he were confronted with a Great Depression. Since Bernacke is going to devalue the currency like FDR did in 1933-4, it would follow that the price of gold will skyrocket. 3,000 an ounce is conservative for the price of gold next year.

In this day and age it is pretty easy to check a bill to see if it is counterfeit or not.
