The tragic events of New Year’s Day, 2012 struck way too close to home for me. Not only am I intimately familiar with how violent a soldier suffering from PTSD can be, but I live in the area where this happened. The park ranger that was shot lives in my town, and suffered death at the hands of an untreated, uncontrolled government responsibility. Where do we draw the line?

As the public notices that there are problems with the Veterans Affairs and the mis-communication that has been addressed even in congress. Most disheartening, is life after war, they come back with injuries that can’t be seen physically or they hidden their physical wounds so well you don’t realize what has happened. From what I have seen they never are debriefed and told what they have coming from serving the country and sacrificing their time away from their families, their jobs, and a part of them that the war impacted their well being.
