For all film critics are stupid comedy movies or no reason. In the case of this tasty and educational history, where the character manages to rebound.

For all film critics are stupid comedy movies or no reason. In the case of this tasty and educational history, we discover that a person, even an art critic or film, if you can reinvent the overnight, after being the best permanent employee of the month, told his superiors that they must fire him because he is not prepared to ascend to a higher level

I wonder what would a critic of those who remain out of work suddenly? Perhaps because if suicide is not able to see ”between the lines” what is a story that can help us learn to get up after falling, especially when we forget that he who exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted, is the last straw. Better enjoy this story that has all the flavor of Nia Vardalos and Tom Hanks
What makes Larry? Despite being a regular guy, nothing special, then worked in a warehouse. As was told to prepare, search and find a course at the University of improvement which gives Mercedes Taino (Julia Roberts), a woman who is on the verge of abandonment because relations with her husband Dean (Bryan Cranston) foundered.

Attend class Mercedes Tainot on Speaking: public speaking. She stopped when classes have fewer than ten students, and when Larry arrives and is ten and has to deal with them.
Then go to class with Professor Economics Matsutani (GeorgeTakei) and although he takes the phone in each session, Larry learns, becoming the best student.

Be friends a group of his companions, all young people, especially Talia (Taraji Henson) and Dell boyfriend. She is responsible for putting in tune with the clothing and convinces him to buy a scooter and discover that Larry is very comfortable and cheap travel on a scooter.
Lamar (Cedric the Enterteiner) and his wife B’Ella (Pam Grier), its neighbors will sell the scooter and help to finish off their properties to pay their bills and mortgages.
Larry returned to college and take courses in Speech and Economics is an inspiration to two and his young companions, and especially for the teacher who falls in love with Mercedes Larry

How to prepare for public speaking.

Organizing, preparing, and presenting a speech for an audience seems like an impossible feat for so many people. It is a daunting task and some don’t even know where to begin. Nerves may also play a part in preventing someone from getting started on preparing or delivering a speech. However, with the right knowledge and a few basic tips, public speaking can become easy for anyone. Thus far through a course on public speaking I have learned that public speaking is very similar to carrying on conversations which allows me to get past some nervousness. I have also learned how to select a topic, analyze an audience, gather materials, and give examples to support the speech. By following these simple steps, anyone can become a confident public speaker.

The first step in preparing for public speaking is to calm your nerves. It is said that speaking in public is the greatest fear for the majority of people, even greater than the fear of death (Levoy, 2010, para. 3). However, most people are unaware that we’ve been practicing the art of speaking our entire lives. This is because public speaking is quite similar to carrying on a typical conversation. In both situations you must organize your thoughts logically, tailor your message to your audience, tell a story, and adapt to listener feedback (Lucas, 2009, p. 6-7). The only real differences between public speaking and carrying on conversations are that public speaking is more structured and requires more formal language (Lucas, 2009, p. 8). If you simply view your speech as a conversation amongst friends, it would seem less daunting and terrifying. Nancy Daniels (2009) says that the best public speakers “treat their audience as if they were having a conversation in their living room (para. 2). By viewing your speech as a conversation instead of a daunting task, you will be more relaxed and will most likely act more natural during your speech. Your audience will be distracted from your speech if you appear to be faking it or acting unnaturally, so it is important to be yourself.

The next step in preparing to deliver a speech is selecting a topic. Choosing a topic to speak about is one of the most important factors of public speaking as it sets the tone for the entire speech. Many times topics are chosen for you based on your experience and the occasion. However there may be times when you are able to choose your own topic. “Selecting a speech topic sometimes feels like shooting an arrow in a random direction and hoping that it hits a target” (Dlugan, 2008, para. 2). To select a topic, you must first decide what you aim to achieve. Speeches generally have three purposes; to inform, persuade, or entertain (Daniels, 2009, para. 4). Deciding which of these you’d like to accomplish will allow you to determine your general purpose (Lucas, 2009, p. 81). It is important to make sure that your entire speech adheres to your topic and your general purpose. Andrew Dlugan (2008) explains that in most cases, the audience will not remember our entire speech, but instead will only remember one or two main points (para. 11). You’ll want to be sure that the message they remember is the message you intended to deliver. According to DeCoske & White (2010) if the audience leaves not having learned something, or not feeling motivated to act, then you have failed as a speaker (para. 14).

To aid in topic selection, you should begin by analyzing your audience. Not only will this allow you to select the proper topic, but it will also allow you to create a speech that is interesting, informative, and entertaining to your audience. “Good public speakers are audience centered” (Lucas, 2009, p. 96). To analyze your audience, think about whom you will be speaking to, what they care about, what they know and what they believe in (Lucas, 2009, p. 99). “Not knowing what the audience wants from a program can result in speakers getting carried away with their own agendas” (Levoy, 2010, para. 14). Tailor your message specifically for your audience. The occasion or event will generally assist you in analyzing your audience. If you’re asked to speak at a pet convention, then you should already know that your audience is interested in pets and most of them probably already have basic knowledge about pets. This will allow you to create a speech that has just enough information to keep your audience interested. Be sure the information contained is something that is relevant to your audience. Discussing things they’ll most likely already know will ensure the audience becomes bored and loses interest. You want to ensure your audience understands your topic, but you do not want to overload them with information. You should leave them wanting more (DeCoske &White, 2010, para. 15).

Now that you have chosen a topic that pertains to your audience, you must prepare the information that your speech will contain. Preparation includes three basic steps; research, writing, and rehearsal (Levoy, 2010, para. 5). If you are an expert on the subject you are speaking about, you may not need anything more than your own knowledge of the topic. However, in most cases there may be a few details you’ll need to research. Researching information for a speech is very similar to conducting research for an essay. You’ll want to be sure you’re choosing credible information to include in your speech. Using the library, newspapers, reference works, or the internet are all ways of finding credible resources to include in your speech (Lucas, 2009, p. 121-125). You’ll want to be sure you include a lot of facts, and minimize the use of opinions so as to remain a credible speaker.

Using examples to support your ideas can help make your speech more interesting and dynamic. Examples can reinforce ideas, or make your speech more personable, depending on what your goal is. Examples can be brief, such as a specific instance, or extended such as a narrative or illustration (Lucas, 2009, p. 143). You could even use a hypothetical or imaginary example to make your audience think about how they would feel or react to your topic.

By following these simple steps, anyone can become a great speaker. You will work past your nerves by remembering that public speaking is not too different from carrying on a conversation. Choosing a proper topic based on your audience analysis will ensure the speech is interesting enough. Gathering materials will ensure it is informative enough, and using examples will help support your ideas and paint a picture in your audiences mind.

Whatever fears we may learn in life, with desire of will, a little education and planning, and anyone can choose to overcome that fear, and discover a new level of success they might never had discovered.

“Overcoming My Greatest Fear”

When polled about what people Fear the most given the choices “Dying” or “Public Speaking”, it’s amazing that people are more afraid of public speaking then they are of dying. I would have fallen into this category as well not too long ago; until, I finally overcame my fear and learned the “Secret” that helped me push forward in my career. “A Secret”, you ask? We’ll get to that in a little bit.

First, let’s explore the roots of my own fears and how they were developed. Many don’t realize when it comes to fears that we’re only born with two instinctive fears, fears we just naturally have. One is the fear of falling and the other the fear of loud noises. All other fears are learned fears. So, the question is where did I learn my fears?

Being a teacher now I hate to say it; but, my fears began while I was in school. In the old days during class when we were called on to read a particular passage out of a text book, the teacher would ask you to stand up next to your desk, and read out loud so the whole class could hear you. Unfortunately, I had trouble pronouncing my words properly and tended to read slow and stutter a little when I read out loud. So, when I was called upon to read, I immediately felt nervous and just wanted to run and hide under the nearest rock I could find. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option I could choose.

Standing up with my book, I’d begin where the last student left off, and then my inability start and I’d panic. If it was just my poor reading skills I had to worry about that would have been enough; but, along with this when I got nervous I also began to sweat. I’d perspire so bad, that the sweat would bead up all over my face, run off the tip of my nose onto my book, and basically soak me down from head to toe. The whole class would start to laugh along with the teacher, which was really uncalled for, and as quickly as I could I’d finish and sit back down.

This was the nature of public speaking for me in school for many years to come. I avoided any form of public speaking whenever I could even if it meant a low grade in a class. Even when I went off to college my fear of getting up in front of people bothered me terribly. I managed to get through my first two years of college with decent enough grades because the engineering classes I majored in didn’t require much work in front of anyone.

After graduating I went to work doing construction at first and then I took a job working for Pepsi driving a forklift truck and working the bottling line. The job paid okay but I wanted more out of life; so, I went back to school once again. This time I attended a four year college and the need for me to speak in front of people came up again. To start with I had to take Public Speaking and pass it at the Community College level and transfer those hours onto the four year school I was heading off to.

The way the teacher taught this class however was more nurturing than embarrassing, not just for me, but for everyone in the class. There were students of various ages in this class, including an older woman, who did a wonderful presentation on crosses. We were able to see ourselves on video and each one of us gave positive critics of each other’s various speeches. By the end of this course we were like a family and we hated the fact that class was ending. Standing up in front of each other and basically baring our souls to each other was one of the most positive speaking experiences I have ever had.

After beginning classes at the four year college I went off to attend I tried to hold onto these positive experiences and use them to help me face the times I did class presentations there. On one occasion, I had to read a paper I had written that had to be 20 minutes long. I talked to my teacher about my problem with getting up in front of people. He was very understanding and said I still had to do it, and that he’d be praying for me. Honestly, I didn’t take much comfort in his words; so, I took what I had learned from when I took public speaking and made a plan. First, I did my best to write a well researched and written out paper, getting it done over a week early. Also, given there were several long difficult to pronounce Hindu names within the text; I asked a teacher who was familiar with that language how to pronounce those words correctly, and practiced them until I had them mastered. Finally, I practiced reading my paper out loud several times every day up to the day I had to read my paper in class.

My fellow classmates did very well reading their papers, but most took well over the twenty minute limit the teacher had specified. When my turn came to read my paper, I stood behind the podium confidently, and went right into my paper. I felt totally relaxed, which allowed me to feel free to make comparisons of my paper to the paper read before me. I even turned to my teacher half way through and said to him, “You know I ought to get a hundred for pronouncing these long Hindu names properly.” The class and teacher all chuckled with me; but, this time it was with me and not at me. When I was finished I had taken exactly 20 minutes and was totally dry perspiration wise, which I also pointed out to my teacher, who was equally happy for me. Conquering a fear like this is no small thing and is clearly cause to celebrate. This and getting an A-plus on my paper!

What were the details that helped develop the fear within me?

1. Classmates & Teachers who mocked me and called me names.

2. Repeated exposure to the same embarrassing situations.

3. Lack of self-confidence due to immaturity of age.

4. No support system for defeating this fear.

What were the details that helped me overcome that fear within me?

1. Public Speaking class that was both informative and supportive.

2. Focusing on the positive experiences I had rather than remembering the negative experiences.

3. A developed maturity that strengthened my self-confidence.

4. Sharing my fears and developing a support system that helped.

5. Learning the value of practice. Repetition being the Mother of Knowledge.

Twenty seven years later I returned to college to begin my venture towards becoming a teacher and these lessons greatly improved my ability to succeed where I had once been such a miserable failure. Now days I get to stand in front of classrooms full of students presenting lessons, sharing my own experiences of overcoming school age struggles, and in general living a victorious life I once thought impossible.

Whatever fears we may learn in life, with desire of will, a little education and planning, and anyone can choose to overcome that fear, and discover a new level of success they might never had discovered. Face it, we can excuse only two fears because we were born with them; but, all other fears have no business being part of who we are. Choose today to be successful and take crush whatever fears are holding you back from your dreams.

This is my oratorical piece during the STI National Oratorical Competition for 2010. The theme of the competition was : The change I want to see, begins in me.

The Queen and her Mates on a Chequered Board

Ena Blanca S. Agustin

Men, I believe are a lot like chess pieces, and this life we are in is the game itself. Just like chess pieces, it will be very brainless to not change positions and remain stagnant throughout the game, as to us humans, to not improve and to refuse to change throughout our lives. A move recklessly made may result to a domino effect lost. But a decision to shift direction with strong bases and deep thinking may lead you to victory.

However, as we all know, chess pieces don’t move by themselves. They don’t just move with magic. There needs to be a force, an initiative, and a start. A chess game requires human beings to move the chess pieces. In our lives, it requires profound thinking, humility and courage to change where we are now and these elements may only be found within us.

I was determined to make that Herculean task. I had to make that change, to start and move to make things better for me and for the people around me.

Still, keeping in track is not an easy thing to do with distractions and depressions around. Having a wayward brother, a father who is trapped in his past[S1] and a mother who is weak did not make things any easier. I have been silently living in a house filled with shouts and cries. At 5th grade, I was forced to live and act like I was five times older. My Father went abroad to work. We put up businesses thinking that with these, the future of the family would be better; but worse turned to worst. My brother continued to give my mom problems. He stole money from the business, ditched school and beat me up constantly. I thought nothing could go worse, but my younger brother met a vehicular accident and all our businesses went bankrupt. My mother was experiencing agonizing depression and it was very painful for me. Outside of home, I met people who would put me down and say bad things behind my back. At school, people kept pulling me down from where I was and I have been told not twice but many times that I could never achieve anything and that I could never be something.

I used to think that imitating my brother was the best thing to do, for he was getting all the love and all the attention. I could have used drugs, filled my lungs with smoke, paralyzed my body with alcohol, get pregnant and have babies by sixteen. I could have turned into a complete pirouette. Do I have access? Yes. I knew. I was smart. I could have gone anywhere. I could have escaped from everything. No one could blame me. I was a kid, but then I realized that this was my life and not theirs. I realized that in a chess game, what will make me win are the courage and intelligence within me. This intelligence to choose, this courage and humility to change could be found nowhere but within myself.

The problems I have encountered may be feather[S2] -like compared to what anchor there is that prevents the country from moving forward. Others may go blunt about it or react apathetically. But this is reality. This is what everyone experiences. Just as how mortar strengthens the bond between bricks in a house, these problems let us learn and let us grow. However, what if not everyone chooses the path I chose? What if they let these problems put them down until no one could save them? We are what makes our country. If the majority would fail to choose the right choice, what awaits the Philippines? What doom is in store for the coming generations? When I was at that point of my life when everything seemed to be falling apart, I never lost hope. I thought that maybe, these people were blind for they cannot see what was right from what was wrong. Instead of thinking negatively, I set my mind that I was lucky for I can see what was wrong and therefore, I had that unspoken chance to start the change. This is what I want to see in the Filipinos.

My mother always told me that you could never control how other people may act simply because they are not you. She told me that the only thing that I could do was to do my part to the fullest and to influence others. Today, I am the President of our school’s Supreme Student Government and I am taking every chance to touch the lives of my constituents. This is what I wish to see in the Philippines.

For centuries we have been shouting our hearts out, rallying in streets, carrying banners and pleading for reforms, but all these are put to waste for we have been paddling with the same rotten oar. These have brought us nowhere but to filthier waters. Let us not put the task [S3] of uplifting our own lives to others. Let us redirect our fingers and point them to our hearts. Only then shall we find true contentment and change. Yes, they[S4] may be powerful. They may have control over the military. They may have the power to decide whether the use of contraceptives be legalized or not, but they do not control our lives. Our move is driven by our decisions and not theirs. They are not the players in this chess game. We are as free as the queen. We are free to grace the chessboard. This game is for us to play and we have that chance to play it wisely.

Now let me end with this line I used during the elections in our campus. Buddha says, “A man is a product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.” So, what would your thoughts be like[S5] ?

[S1]Soften this part. It’s good to be honest, but we’d like to remain loyal to our family members as well.

[S2]Replace feather-like with another term. Suggested: mundane.

[S3]Could be replaced with : Let us not burden others with the task of uplifting our own lives. OR Let us not put the burden of uplifting our own lives upon others.

[S4]Define “they”. “They” could be the powers-that-be, etc. In this case, define they first.

[S5]Make the ending as powerful as the previous parts of the speech. This is ok, but not that dramatic.

Fear of public speaking is absolutely natural. In fact, most people fear it more than death it's self (me included)

You’re afraid that you’ll mess up, or that you will say something stupid, or offend someone, or wet your pants, or freeze up, or that the crowd will judge you or start stuttering but it’s just part of being Human

So it’s natural, but you can overcome it. Here are a few pointers.

Practice! Practice! Practice!

The more you practice, the more confident you’ll feel.

Before and during a speech, ACT confident.

Stick out your chest, throw your shoulders back, stand tall, and the emotion, and the sound, should follow.

Again; Practice

One metaphor I’ve heard is that practice will make those butterflies in your stomach fly in formation.

If you do freeze up, make up a distraction.

Ask if the back can hear you, or go off on a bunny trail that relates to your last point until you remember where to go.

Practice in front of your family, or friends.

The more speeches you have behind you (even minor ones), the more you will know about the experience its self.

It’s not as bad as you think

99% of people feel the same way you do, and the other 1% probably won’t give very good speeches. As long as you don’t make any off-color jokes they will understand any mistakes you make.

Look into other resources.

There are plenty of websites, books, and people who know exactly what your situation is and know exactly how to remedy it.

Public speaking is counterintuitive. That is to say what your intuition tells you is a good thing is not always the truth. And what your instincts say not to do is often the best thing to do. Your natural inner voice when you find out you have to do a public presentation is to write it all out and read it to the audience word for word. That way, so your inner voice thinks, there is no way you have to depend on memory and you won't ever get stuck and have that sinking feeling up there when your brain empties out and you have nothing to say.

But even if you don’t use the method of writing your entire speech out, there are situations where reading to an audience is called for. You may have a passage from a part of your research that is key to what you need for them to know. Or there may be quotations that are too long to just quote and you need to read them. The situations are varied where reading to a group of people is called for. So to be prepared for that becoming part of your presentation, you should practice it and have some technique down before the situation comes up. Then pausing to read a segment of your presentation is not going to be so disruptive.

The biggest problem of reading to an audience is eye contact. Maintaining a continuous eye contact with your audience should be the first commandment of good public speaking. The more you can look at your audience, catch their eye and maintain that relationship, the stronger your presentation will be. So if you take a minute or two or three to look down and read to an audience, you lose all of that contact with them and momentum. Like children, when you are not looking at them, they will naturally begin to fidget and drift from what you are doing.

The simple truth is that people don’t like to be read to. Add to that the problem that when you look down to read, your voice is no longer projecting out to the audience but down to the page. You lose at least half of the force of your diaphragm because you are looking down so the power of your talk is vastly reduced by that simple interruption. By the time you look up again, you may have no idea that you have lost of their attention and the forward motion of your talk is damaged.

One way to lesson the disruption of reading a passage is to had out the passage to the audience before hand and then direct them to it as you need to in the body of your talk. This gives them somewhere to look while you read. Then when you do read the material, don’t put it on the podium and look down at it. Hold it up to just below face level. That way you can read it and still maintain the force of your diaphragm and your eye contact over the top of the book or page.

Don’t let yourself fall into the trap of thinking that because you are going to read some or all of your presentation, that reduces your preparations. If anything, you should prepare more. Be sure you are very familiar with the text so you are not so much reading it as reciting it with notes. By giving them the text, you are not so concerned with having to read it word for word correctly and because people read faster than they listen, they will be a step ahead of you and understand the text better.

Practice reading the passage. Resist the urge to read monotone like you was reading the phone book. Learn to read the passage with inflection, with emphasis and even with emotion. Work the passage into the flow of your presentation so you come right out of the reading and make the points from the reading that you need to make right away. These techniques overcome the major problems reading to a crowd create in a presentation. Using them you will find success because the reading you need to have will flow naturally in the other parts of your speech. And when you can do that and you don’t lose your audience, you will have made a step forward in your public speaking evolution.

Tips on giving a successful presentations.

How you control questions from an audience can often be the deciding factor as to how your presentation is received. One of the first things you need to learn before you can advance and give better speeches and presentations is how to develop good eye contact.

You have to be prepared for questions. When you write your presentation, think about what you’re likely to be asked and what your answers are going to be. Maybe you won’t want to answer a particular question there and then, so think about what you’ll say to satisfy the questioner.

Many people who fears giving public speeches make a simple mistake they often stick to their notes and avoid looking at the crowd directly. This is a big error and will cause your listeners to be uninterested in your presentation. If you are uncomfortable with public speaking, I mean who is? You probably want to practice taking deep breaths before the presentation and make it very clear that you would be taking questions after your speech. This normally works because during the speech you would become more comfortable. Also if you take questions as you go, then your timing maybe prolonged. And always remember, an audience won’t forgive you for taking half an hour when you were only scheduled to speak for fifteen minutes.

When presented with a question, listen and it may sounds funny look like your listening. It may be something you’ve heard before. Treat the questioner with respect and don’t underestimate their point.
Then thank the questioner for their questions. It also shows respect and it gives you a bit more time to consider your answer (buying time).

It may be nice if you repeated the question asked, no not to buy time. Some people may not have heard the question so repeating the question can make sure that everyone is on the same page. It makes you look so clever and in control. Answers your questions to the audience don’t get trap only answering the questioner. This can cause you to exclude everyone else.

Furthermore, when answering the your question get to the point unless you are a politician, people who ask the question wants answers and if you run around the answer you leave the audience thinking you didn’t know the answer, and if you don’t just say so.

I’m a Filipino

I am a Filipino, like breeze of fresh air , I blew the dust of the dull shelves of the past; and standing before you is forlorn figure of an innocent boy; yet filled with aspirations hopes and ideas that the so long awaited dawn of our dreams realization is now at hand and the moment of lifetime had come.

I am now the new breed of life which has suddenly emerge from a deep obscurity that from every moment brought me annihilation for I found myself absolutely and irretrievably shut off from every visage influence of confidence and of power.

Within this few years of the new era after the proclamation of our President of a new Republic accented a new visible shape assumed for the advancement of life bound to succeed with the guidance of a gifted man a fine mature that his success is yours and mine. And that we must labor hard with faith and noble in dedication with our mother land; the land of free; the land of true democracy. In her whelms is the equality among men, the oppressed is no more true; for the so called squatters will no longer exist for once to be squatter in his own land is hurting and the proof to live with Liberty is to own a piece of land which is a make believe had now turned into reality and this reality fills the heart of every new breed with rapture and affectionate loyalty that above all struck everyone with overwhelming force- the contrast between the old and the new.

The nasty old, they were debauch, selfish, pigheaded, ridiculous with a perpetual burden of debts. Confusions and dishonesty; they have vanished like a smoke in the atmosphere, atlas the change; a change for the best.

I just hope and pray that our able leaders, pillars of the nations who have consumed and assumed their responsibilities may truly see the reality; the reality which had envisioned before us by our great forefathers, to rally in the street of democracy where everyone is free- free from the old bondage.

On my shoulder lies the burden of responsibilities; to act, get involved, join the flow of builder’s … perceived quickly decide sensibly. Let us continue the journey – this journey awaits our cherished dreams.

One's personality has a lot to tell about his success in life. Yet, there are skills, built-in skills or acquired skills, that makes one a winner.

Know Your Assets

Personality alone does not bring happiness or success to an individual; there are a few skills he must hold in directing his life; and that would help him to be successful, and of course, happy.

Just like personality traits and personal characteristics, an individual brings certain skills and talents with him to this world, might be inherited or god given. Some of these skills are designed just to match with your personality, for harvesting a good result from your life. Considering them as asset is worthy only when you realize their presence.

Before jumping into identifying a set of skills that you possess, let us try to understand what these skills are and their classifications. Although there can be a thousand categories of skills that human beings do exhibit, I am borrowing the six main categories of skills explained by Dr. Patti Mack Tucker in her book “What You Should Know Before Starting a Business”.

Creative Skills: Some of us are good in bringing something new to the world – an idea, a product, a service, a message, or a system. Artists, singers, musicians, actors, preachers, designers, businessmen, and similar talents fall into this category.

Mental Skills: There are also people who are good at mental calculations and assessments like Scientists, Professors, Accountants, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, etc.

Verbal Skills: There are people among us who are good at communicating with others, may be conveying a message. These people might include Public speakers, authors, radio/television personalities, politicians, journalists, teachers, etc.

Athletic Skills: Many of us go with extreme physical talents like sportsmen, physical trainers, travelers, acrobats, defense personnel, etc.

Interpersonal Skills: People who can communicate, convince, and motivate others; people who listens before talking. Teachers, consultants, managers, counselors, psychologists, etc holds these skills to the core.

High Tech Skills: May be we may rename it to technical skills, like electronics design, computer programming, telecommunications operation, vessel navigation, etc.

When these are the major categories of skills, there may be more to it and an individual may hold more than one category of skills at a time. Benefiting from the skills to exploit your personality and earn happiness is our aim; and that can be done by recognizing your actual skills.

Speaker’s speeches are different from one another. They differ in many things especially in their specific intention in delivering their speeches to the public.

Different speaker have different purposes in public speaking. Some speakers wanted to inform and some wanted to persuade the audience. Some others wanted the audience to actuate while others wanted to entertain them. Still others wanted to impress and others wants to enlighten them.

Image via Wikipedia

The speakers who want to inform the audience usually aims to increase the audience’s knowledge. His intention is to add the quantity of facts that stored in the audience’s memory as well as to supply the audience with facts.

The speaker who wants to persuade his audience has an aim to attain the audience into a debatable assertion. The speaker aims to seek an agreement by using either the knowledge or understanding of his audience.

The speaker who wants his audience to actuate persuades his audience to do a definite act. It may be done by appealing to the audience intellectually or emotionally or both. Doing this has a necessity to arouse the level of audience’s emotions as well as to overcome their natural inertia, thus providing the audience a motivating force.

The speaker who wants to entertain his audience usually gives his listeners a pleasure. His primary aim is to not only to communicate to the listeners but more specifically to entertain them. This could be done in a mirthful way or in a more serious kind, depending upon the speaker.

The speaker who wants to impress seeks to bring the audiences into a new as well as in deeper realization of the truth. The speaker does it well in making the audience understands as well as feels these realizations. It could be done by appealing to the sympathies of the audiences as well as in associating emotion with thought.

The speaker who wanted to enlighten usually clears up some concerns of difficulty and comprehension in the minds of the audience. It is done to be able to present a new perspective with reference to the relations of facts as well as to improve the audience’s understanding about a subject matter through giving an explanation.

Speakers should first determine their intention before giving a speech. This will serve as an objective upon delivering the speech. With this, the speeches are more focus to its intention towards the listeners or the audience.
