Life After Racism.

Promise Land

Life after racism is no longer a part of everyday life:

Conflicts between groups and countries: Racism plays a big part in wars, fights and other conflicts between groups of people and countries. If racism was no longer around, these wars, fights and other conflicts would no longer exist. People will be able to get along without problems that exist today.

Friendships and other relationships between people of different races: If there was no more racism more relationships between people of different races could exist. People who are put down or outcast because of their race will be able to live life without the pain they face today because of their race.

Hate crimes against people of other race: Hate crimes against people of other races would no longer happen. The world would not be filled with criminal and racists, like it is today.

Prejudice, ignorance and stereotyping: Many people these days tend to be very prejudice and ignorant of people of other races, they tend to judge them without getting to know them first. They also tend to make up stereotypes about other people without caring to learn about them first. If racism did not exist, people would not be making up stereotypes, being prejudice and ignorant of other people because they look different.

Do you know that you have been standing in murky waters? waters that has been stagnate by lazy thoughts of ones humanness.

Do you know that sickness has entered your soul? a soul fed by fear, digestion never possible, hunger constantly dwelling.

Do you know that you have stood still, unmoved? unmoved and, rooted in a routine that kills not only passion but buries love alive.

Know that you are free, only your mind can control you to delve in such darkness…if you let it.

Know that freedom is a thought away, only the mind can catch it, if it’s free and willing.

Your heart holds the the compass in the direction of truth, not to far away on the train of thought.

Come from beneath and uncover love through the tunnels of desperation, a violent moment of imagination casts out the demon of routine.

Allowing one to become an original not a photocopy of what has been done before but clean and innocent.

One that has not been tainted by fear or hold remembrance to the death of passion.

One who has the freedom of mind, imagination that has not been enslaved by the greys in life only coloured by the experiences.

Do you know you have forgotten your divine right? right where wrongs were unborn and beauty was the parent …remember.

The thoughts were to bring out your anger. Did you have these thoughts or are you still wondering what shoes to wear or where to have dinner at tonight?

My stories are to stir your heart and souls. To get you thinking of something else besides what shoes you want to buy or what your dinner plans are for the night. I have given you different thoughts on races and what may be the answerer. Then again, there is only one answerer if you stop and think. I’m not going to tell you. I want you to do some thinking. Lets start with Jesus. I know some don’t believe but i do so, that is where ill start. Jesus was a Jew. The Jews were killed by the thousands in times of white Germany take over. Some believe it didn’t happen. Wake up it happened! And yet the Jews were always targeted. Then the black people. They were brought over to the Americas to be slaves. I’m pretty sure they were not eagerly waiting for the ships to tear them away from their homeland. They didn’t come to the shore and yell take me, I wanna be a slave. The whites beat them, torture them, and riped families apart. I’m not banging whites. But lets be real. The whites came here to America to find freedom of religion and to live free. Kinda funny when you think about it. They tried to kill off the Indians for their believes and freedom. Why and when does it say, white men rule the earth. Its not in any book I read. Then the China man was brought here. Same thing happen to them. The Americans have something to say in the past about the Indians, Irish, Polish, German and any other race. They steal jobs, they take land, they mix with the whites and marry. Hum! Now its the Mexicans. I may be wrong but didn’t Texas, New Mexico , AZ. and CA., belong to Mexico. The white Americans killed and pushed the Mexicans off their land. Now your blood is boiling, Good. Its also the Muslin people, here in the USA. I can understand the hate in 911. But why do all the people of that country have to die because of a few sick people. There is good in all races. You say no there isn’t. OK. After the blacks were freed, they have fought beside the white men in wars. All races in this country have tied them selves to fight wars together. They are all brothers and sisters fighting for one purpose. They are treated the same. Even the Mexican people fight for the USA. Someone told me back in the 70’s that one day the world would all be one color. The thought stuck with me all these years. Love is hard enough to find then to bash someone ,because they love someone outside their race. When are the American people going to realize that everything come to a full circle. You cant fight it. If everyone treated people with respect and helped them when they were in need, they wouldn’t have time to worry about color. What does color have to do with anything? What does sex, race and differences really have to do with just living life? Why cant there be one people? We are people not colors, not races. Now i wont say anymore but the next time you read a story and you don’t like it, Good! Your brain is working. Now go into heart and soul mode. Don’t become a person in the past, full of hate. Live together as one world. Yes, there will always be those who want to be the king of the world. They will tear people down, destroy their homes, kill their children. As Americans and other countries unite and get rid of the ones who do this. Everyone deserves freedom and a safe place to live. Everyone wants their children to get ahead in the world. Even the Mexican people want the same rights as you and a safe place to live. Think, it wont hurt as much as killing of races!

Affirmative action is the policies that focus on giving equal rights to every individual besides his race, gender or ethnicity. The purpose of affirmative action is to maximize the benefits of diversity. It could also be explained as a way of balancing inequality from society.

There was a time when affirmative action faces uncertain future, at that time diversity came into existence. It was adopted by many business to eliminate discrimination at work place. Their basic concept was that today many minorities and women are entering into businesses and for that businesses to be productive, it is very important to give equal rights to these people.

Many multinationals are hiring employees of different races but it is still a reality that minorities are discriminated at work places. In past affirmative action was not given so much importance but today, it is also common practice for employers to engage in voluntary affirmative action practices.

Affirmative action open door of new opportunities for businesses and it also promotes individualistic ideals and values. In united states of America many programs are introduced that encourage affirmative action in order to overcome the effects of past societal discrimination by allocating jobs and resources to women and minorities.

Affirmative action gives equal rights to every individual. Affirmative action does not encourages businesses to give job to a person who is minority but they focus on qualification. If the minority person is not having required qualifications then job should be given to qualified person. Affirmative action decisions are generally not supposed to be based on quotas, nor are they supposed to give any preference to unqualified candidates.

When you move to another country, and you are single, one of the first thoughts that cross your mind is: meet someone! There are thousands of reasons to move, but this is certainly one of the most exciting. In the relationships universe, for an immigrant, what constitutes dating ?

It does not matter if you are Latin, European, Asian, African, heterosexual, homosexual, blond, black, or red hair, in chemistry there’s no half, or you fell attracted, or not. Usually, the delicious mysterious of the opposite side make you mind travel to the profound ocean of the imagination. Even, with all the excitement and the mysterious, there are new relationships rules to be learned, in a new life overseas.

The immigrant has to learn, and understand these new dating rules. How find out about it? Experience it, that is the only way. In the Latin world, for example, things are more spice, immediately and open. People can not wait life is to short, and there’s no waste of time, so the rule is: do it. In some European countries, tradition is the rule. First you need to know the person, and then do It. Put these two realities together, and you will have a recipe for fire. Burn or not, will be just a matter of understand, accept and have fun with the other side rules.

No matter what rules must be follow, meet someone overseas is fun, tasteful, excited, and it is very turn on. When comes to dating the whole world agree, there’s no better game than flirt. You can not preside what will happen, if you will be introduce to the person’s sheet as the new Concorde route, which in 15 min you arrive at your destination, or if, you will take a ride in the wings of the persons soul in a long, and pleasant flight. One thing is for sure at some point, or you will wish suicide, or you will wish never die.

A high percentage would wish to die in the adventure arms. That is the feeling which reveals that emotion of achievement, where you have to have your object of desire. No matter which nation, challenge, and mysterious are always a fuel for the brain to produce dopamine. Immigrants and natives feed their sex appeal with suggestive thoughts.

These thoughts shoot a combination of excitement and anticipation and may ignore the rules. In this case, there’s no return you already wore the emotions clothes, and now all you can do is to enjoy.

This essay discusses the extent of our influence that vary according to the social groupings such as age, gender, ethnic group, religion and origin.

There are many factors that may affect your influence in certain situations for example which social groupings apply to you. There are many social groupings that may vary your influence such as your age, your gender, your ethnic grouping, your religion and where you live or have come from.

Age may vary your influence in some situations such as applying for a job. Generally the older or younger you are the less influence you have as your opinion is not recognised as highly as an economically active person (within the age range of about 16 to 60 years). You may find it harder to get a job if you are in the later stages of life, as employers are most likely looking for someone who will have a future in their company, or the beginning stages, as employers will often choose someone with life experience.

Another factor that may affect your influence is your gender. Although as men and women are becoming more and more equal as time progresses gender should no longer influence decisions in your life or decisions people make about you. However there are still some areas in which men have the superior role – for example in parliament where there are few women participants or leaders. There are also other issues that come with gender , for example women having children, that can effect your influence. A women nearing a child bearing age or in a stable relationship with family is less likely to have the influence or opportunities a man may have as he will not have to prioritise children ahead of work.

Where you live may have a large impact on how people see and interpret you, which may influence many of your decisions and opportunities in life. Often people take someone’s background as an indicator to their personality, for example a teenager from a housing estate in south London may be seen as a vandal or a yob just because of where they have come from. Therefore the are you live in may restrict your influence as no matter what education they have or what personality traits they possess someone from a higher class background living in Shropshire with well off parents may receive a greater influence than a working class person from a rented flat in London.

Ethnic group and religion also may vary your influence in some situations, especially in applying for some jobs. For example a Muslim may not be employed at a catholic school due to his or her beliefs – even if they were a qualified teacher. The difference in beliefs about religions may also cause huge differences in the way people think and communicate their ideas which too could vary the amount of influence you may have in some situations.

Word is that the Democrats will lose big time, hold on!

The Republicans are running around frantically screaming and looking for material to make new drapes for the House chamber when they take over, as some like to say, but word is don’t count your chickens before they come out of the ballot box. With President Obama traveling the country and trying to build enthusiasm within the Democratic party, the winds are changing and the sleeping bears are waking up.

There are many races that are tightening and closing fast as we get closer to the 2nd of November. The President visited many different states, held great rallies, one where some say had thirty-five thousand attendants. That does not appear to be a lack of interest. Some lovers need a lot of stimuli to warm up after a long time of not seeing their paramour. So it is looking like the motors are getting turned on and the feet will be walking along with the fingers voting on election day.

In Nevada Senator Harry Reid is virtually tied with Sharon Angle after she had a double digit lead for a long time over him. In the state of Washington, Senator Patty Murray is leading her Republican opponent by a few points. Representative Joe Sestak of Pennsylvania is closing in on his Republican opponent Pat Toomey in much the same way he surged at the end to beat Senator Arlen Specter in the primary.

The key in all these races is turnout, if the Democrats are able to get the voters to the polls on election day this will not be the blasting away of democratic seats that had been predicted. Lots of money has been poured in to defeat the Democrats but a good ground game will be essential in holding their own.

President Obama’s approval rating has jumped into the 50’s since he started his campaign to get the Democrats stirred up and interested in voting in the mid-term election and according to Newsweek, it has been greatly effective. So the conventional wisdom may just be turned on it’s head when all is said and done. November 3rd will certainly tell the story.

A short history of John Brown's striving for abolitionism and equality of all. School project.

John Brown, born May 9th, 1800 in Connecticut is sometimes argued to have shot the first shots of the Civil War in his raid of Harper’s Ferry even though the war did not begin until 16 months after Brown was hung. How? John Brown was a very influential man with the heart of a philanthropist and the focus to complete his task matched only by men along the likes of Mahatma Gandhi and among the ranks of Emerson and Thoreau.

He had the utmost devotion to his cause, losing sons upon sons at various times in his attempts to help abolitionism. At Harpers Ferry, he would witness one of his sons being wounded by a bullet. He would then tell his son to die like a man and later, when calling his son’s name and getting no return say, “I guess he is dead.” Later, he’d state, “this is the third son I have lost in this cause”, showing his devotion to abolitionism and how he would be willing to give up anything to his cause.

John Brown was taught from childhood of the equality of races by his father. His father was an active abolitionist who ran a station in the Underground Railroad. He would later move to Ohio where there were Indians and many wild animals, whom Brown actually became friends with. He was also a bright child who had the responsibility of driving their family cattle a hundred miles on his own to Michigan to sell to soldiers. One of these trips made John Brown figure out exactly how horrifying slavery really was. He boarded in a gentleman’s home who made him a pet and always made sure to keep him around when he had company and tell about how smart John Brown was. However, he had a slave who was the same age as Brown and was of his equal intelligence, if not more. The slave was poorly clothed, fed and was often beaten. This brought young Brown to realize the cruelty of slavery and change how he would live the rest of his life.

Brown got married at age 19 to Dianthe Lusk and got seven children in eleven years. Dianthe suffered from deep, emotional problems and when she gave birth to her last child in 1832, she was said to be insane. She died soon after and barely a year after her death, Brown married seventeen-year-old Mary Ann Day whom he had 13 children with, 7 which died young. Out of all children, Brown had 7 sons and 4 daughters live up to maturity. Brown’s view of life was actually very nonviolent. He told his wife that if any of the older children misbehave, she should take them to her room alone and reason with them. These were revolutionary words at a time when physical punishment was used by everyone. Brown had started with a peaceful way to abolish slavery. He tried educating slave children because he thought this might encourage others to help produce “enlightened blacks” and he called this “firing powder confined in a rock” and that “all slaveholders know it well.” However, since a single slave would cost over six hundred dollars and Brown didn’t have the financial means to buy many slaves, Brown said he couldn’t even make a “dent in slavery.”

In 1839, Brown swore and “active war on slavery” meaning that he would no longer fight slavery through peaceful means. Once, when Frederick Douglas met Brown, Douglas almost changed his peaceful views on how to abolish slavery. Brown had resorted to violence because he decided that there was no other way, which almost converted Douglas to that belief. Brown was an active man. “Caution, Sir! I am eternally tired of hearing that word caution. It is nothing but the word of cowardice!” he once said to a neighbor. He gave many speeches on abolition and recruited men who he used for different anti-slavery events. For example, Brown became an outlaw after he murdered five pro-slavery men that cause the most physical harm and violence against abolitionists.

In 1856, Brown set his sights on putting in place a new government and striking a blow on slavery with seizing a military arsenal as a first step. Brown chose the arsenal at Harpers Ferry to begin his attacks. Brown grew a long white beard to disguise himself at age 59. At this point, many well known Abolitionists attempted to try and stop Brown. One wrote to the Secretary of State to inform him about the attacks but accidentally said it was in Maryland instead of Virginia. Since there were no arsenals in Maryland, the letter was regarded as a hoax and nothing was done to prevent the attack. Even Abraham Lincoln would later say, “Old John Brown…agreed with us thinking slavery wrong. That cannot excuse violence, bloodshed, and treason. It could avail him nothing that he might think himself right.” Harpers Ferry also had only civilians guarding the arsenal, not soldiers. Brown also chose Harpers Ferry because it was on the low point of mountains with various caves that Brown could use to hide his men.

In 1859, they raided farms on their way into the military arsenal before 80 marines, commanded by Colonel Robert E. Lee stormed the arsenal. The abolitionists were soon captured. 17 people had died including the mayor of Harpers Ferry. All but five of the raiders were killed or captured.

Why the attack had failed: Other abolitionists didn’t join Brown because they were sure the plan would fail or that they felt that violence wasn’t the only way to end slavery. Few slaves from Harpers Ferry joined Brown as he had hoped, because their owners were nicer than other slaveholders and so the slaves were treated better (from better clothing to better housing). Few slaves at Harpers Ferry even tried to run away.

When Brown was being arrested, he was asked if he had anything else to say. He was caught off guard, but, was still able to say,“two of my sons were killed here today, and I’m dying too. I came to here to liberate slaves, and was to receive no reward. I have acted from a sense of duty…”

At Brown’s court hearing on November 2, 1859, his lawyers attempted to convince the judge that Brown was insane. However, Brown kept saying that he wasn’t and the judge agreed with him. After only an hour of deliberation, the jury found Brown guilty of treason, conspiring, advising with slaves, persuading others to rebel, and murder-in-the first degree.” Each one of these carried the death penalty. During his sentencing, Brown said a few things. ”Had I so interfered in behalf of the rich, the powerful, the intelligent, the so-called great, or in behalf of their friends…and suffered and sacrificed what I have in this interference…every man in this court would have deemed it worthy of reward rather than punishment,” meaning that had Brown not been fighting for the slaves and instead the white people, he would be getting rewards instead of the death penalty. Brown also states after hearing that he would be hanged, “If it is deemed necessary that I should forfeit my life for the furtherance of the ends of justice, and mingle my blood further with the blood of my children and with the blood of millions in this slave country whose rights are disregarded by wicked, cruel, and unjust enactments-I submit; so let it be done.” That meant that if it was necessary that he would have to die for justice and save the slaves, then he would just go along with it.

On December 2nd, 1859 (the same year), Brown was hung. His last letter ever written was “abhor, with undying hatred…, that sum of all villainies, slavery.” It shows exactly how devoted Brown was to abolition as his last letter would be an attempt to continue his fights against slavery through his sons. Herman Melville would soon write a poem about Brown’s hanging.

Hanging from the beam,
Slowly swaying (such the law),
Gaunt the shadow on your green,
Shenandoah!
The cut is on the crown
(Lo, John Brown),
And the stabs shall heal no more.
– Herman Melville, “The Portent.”

Life is a race from the cradle to the grave with many pit stops in between. We learn lessons the hard and easy way and some sticks. The forties is where I am at,thought this would be fun to write.

Image via Wikipedia

Life is a continuous journey from the cradle to the grave we all know.Lessons are learned as we go from one phase of life to another. We go from taking our first step to being a know it all teen and into a 20 something year old adult. The thirties bring us yet more changes as we mature, marry, have a family and realize our parents are smarter then we are.You now begin to realize not only are you walking on the same path they once did,you will one day be who they are now.

Image via Wikipedia

Your parents and elderly relatives always told you in your young youth that with age comes patience and wisdom, the thirties is the phase in life it starts to kick in as they all said. But one year passes after another and now you are at your 40th birthday party with family and friends. As you struggle to blow out the candles, you find that life begins yet another set of lessons and changes. Some may find that they are more comfortable in their skin then in their younger years. The flaws that used to bother us no longer do, the thick hair we had is thinning and glasses are just a part of who we are now. A simple thing like seeing a grandchild if you have them brings us joy. At this age, your patience is a whole lot better and we see things in a different prospective. There are some things that get better now and some things decrease for this age group. We have more time to spend with our loved ones and enjoy the family we have raised.Intimacy in whatever form is much better because its about quality, not quantity. At this age it isn’t how many times we can make love in the night time hours, its all about the quality we put into since jackrabbits we are not at this age and its fine to feel like this now. No,we no longer want to do what we did way back then but we have learned to settle down .

We are now free to travel and time is on our side.A new peace of mind comes along with this group also.If they are a writer, a whole new world opens up and we now have a new creative side that is born out of all we have seen and done.Granted, mistakes are still made but we tend to think things through before doing them. Some of the lesson learned to get to the forties was harsh and brutal, but was well worth it once they were learned.Life for some are mellow and peaceful ,life in the fast lane is nothing but a memory. I didn’t say there was anything wrong with life the fast lane if you like that sort of thing, but some of us in our forties has already been there and don’t want to do again if it can be helped.

We cant always run race like we used to and not feel no pain. But a jog in the park or a romantic walk with your spouse is just as satisfying as well as healthy to. We have paid our dues and now its time to collect the benefits from all of our years of life, living and the love we gave to those we cared about. The young people think they have life and love figured out, are they in for a shock when they get to this magical age in their life. They will figure out that they did not have a clue what life and love was about, but it gets a whole lot better as you mature and learn one lesson after another on their journey from the cradle to the grave. If you do it right, it will an experience that you never ever forget.

Life isn’t about who runs fastest in the race. All you are going to do is wear your self out trying to be the hare running against the turtle. What really counts is who reaches the finish line first and did you do the best you could to win it? In closing, your forties is not an end of life as you knew it but a new beginning. The chance to do everything you couldn’t as a younger person.Enjoy them while you can, for they go by so fast then you learn a whole new set of things in the fifties.Don’t think of it as getting older if it can be helped, look at it as getting better and going from there. After all, do you really want to go back in time and redo your youth and all the mistakes you made in it? Having to relearn all the valuable lessons you already learned and wasn’t always easy to learn? I for one wouldn’t relive my past years , youth or thirties for all the tea in china or chocolate in the world. Fifty is but a few years away for me and I have to admit I am looking forward to seeing what it brings for me then.

The people of the world are classified into four distinct racial groups, based on their physical characteristics.

Caucasoid. These people are mostly Europeans. Those in northern Europe (Nordics) tend to be tall, with light skin, light colored eyes, narrow noses, and thin lips. Their hair is usually blond, and either straight or wavy. Nordics can be found in Scandinavia, the British Isles, and Germany.

The people of southern Europe (Mediterraneans) are shorter and have dark colored hair, skin, and eyes. But the Mediterranean race is not confined to Europe. It extends all around the Mediterranean Sea, eastward through the Middle East, and into northern and central India. The Hamites of North Africa are Mediterranean with a Negroid blend. They populate the countries of Egypt, Ethiopia, and Somalia, and places in the Sahara and western Sudan.

Mongoloids. They have straight black hair, yellow skin, almond eyes, and thin lips. Their faces are broad and flat. They are found mostly in central Asia and northern China. American Indians, Eskimos, Malaysians, Indonesians, and Filipinos are included in the Mongoloid race.

Negroids. Their skin color ranges from light brown to almost black. They have kinky hair, brown or black eyes, broad noses and thick lips. They are found mainly in Africa, south of the Sahara Desert. They can be divided into the Bantus of eastern and southern Africa, the Bushmen of southwest Africa, the Forest Negroes of south-central Africa.

Australoids. Their skin color varies from brown to nearly black. They have black fizzy hair, wide noses, and thick lips. The Australian aborigines are a popular example.
