Holiday, a day for a vacation diidentikka the moment, in which diverse human tengahaktivitas today. Was considered an important holiday, to calm the mind, which are often scrambling to daily work that has accumulated.

Continues, what if, the holiday actually removed it? Are we all can still enjoy the beautiful beaches with sunsets on the western horizon, or can we still visit a beautiful place in this country or just get together with family and friends without being tied to existing jobs? I do not know!

Maybe you or blogger friends wonder if a moment to read the title above, “has been on holiday drop the”! Is it true? Continues to anyone who has dared to negate or remove holidays, such as day of week, national day, the celebration of a particular religion, or other important day? Especially to schoolchildren as elementary, junior high school, would be meghujat all-out, who is behind the removal of a holiday display in question.

I, can not imagine, if the holiday is totally eliminated. Moreover, human life is lived today, in large urban areas. With details of the work schedule is super duper. Ha,, must be part of us or I’ll scream at full speed. If there is no free day to rest his body, then as soon as possible anyway, this body broken junk like that can not be used anymore. Although for once recycling (waste kaleee ..).

Back again on the title above. Real holiday since the first has been abolished. Not that the culprit is the government. Just because the government is the maker of all policies. True that removing the holiday is “We All”. Surely wonder why we are abolishing the holiday. Since when are we all clear days off?

Since when is it? Which details the date and exact time, I also do not know. This is purely my opinion. “A day off was abolished when all men are busy with all the daily activities of the congested and crowded”. Holidays such as day of week, national day, day of religious celebration that has been designated as a national holiday, not a holiday anymore. The reason is simple. Yes, because it was over. No word aatau intends holiday days off in addition to weeks to work, work, work longer and work longer. Thus, for any holiday, it has been ‘no’ to the policies made by men concerned.

Did in fact fix the holidays are gone! Every day we are all human, or keep working and working, citing the demands of life. Especially those who have a lot of debt, this installment and it’s (no offense ya ..)

But this is life. Life is be required to work. Generating employment. But sometimes, people careless with his own work. Carelessness is, too “love the” job. So he did not ignore anything that happens in the surrounding environment. Because of all the activities, especially his thoughts were on careers and opportunities.

Make no mistake if men are now reluctant to dismiss him. He will continue to work toward the culmination of the Whatever, regardless of the side effects will be experienced as are to sejekan dismiss his body of work has been sluggish. So, what about you whether it is sesuaidengan seahari-day activities you are, or what? I was waiting for his comments, yes,,,!

A view on how the world will really end.

How does the world end exactly? It’s certainly not Nibiru/Planet X, not a giant asteroid hitting the Earth, and it’s definitely not camping’s end-world campaign (or as I like to call it, Camping’s end-world…marketing, as he probably makes hundreds of thousands of dollars, from people giving him the money to advertise the end of the world.)

So how does this world end? Actually, the Earth will always still be there. It’s us humans who take the risks and get wiped out. So the cause of the end of humanity – is humanity. Sounds wrong? Read it again.

We humans have caused so much damage to this planet that takes care of us, that soon we will kill the Earth. Because of human foolishness, we shall end this Earth ourselves. Humans will be the end of humanity. The next time you dispose of garbage on a street, make an effort to think, “Will doing this contribute good to humanity?”

It was announced on 2nd May 2011 that Osama Bin Laden was killed by a team 20-25 of US operatives at his hideout in Pakistan. Shortly after the operation was confirmed to be successful the world's media outlets went crazy. But how do we know that Osama Bin Laden is really dead and why did it take so long to find him?

Is Osama Bin Laden Really Dead?

The simple (and perhaps unwelcome) fact is that we accept everything we hear in the news as 100% truth; just because President Barack Obama says it to be so and then to have that message repeated worldwide does not make it fact.

As controversial as the statement may be it must be accepted that we as the general public have no way to be sure that Osama Bin Laden has been killed. In a news article by the BBC there were claims that the target was confirmed by “DNA tests” – although this begs the question “how do you get a DNA sample of the most wanted man in the world, whom you have been unable to find for almost 10 years?”

Finally, there is the case of Osama Bin Laden’s body. US troops, presumably, extracted the body with the helicopters in which they started their attack on the base. Once the group of 20-25 Navy Seals had returned to an aircraft carrier on which they gave Bin Laden a “Muslim burial” at sea, both to respect Islamic tradition and to ensure that his grave “did not become a shrine”. Photographic evidence was released of Sadam Hussein’s execution, but so far there has been nothing similar to prove or disprove the death of Osama Bin Laden.

Admittedly, it would be a strange move to pronounced the number one most wanted man in the world dead without actually killing him, but I feel that these points neatly illustrate how easily we accept the news that we hear as complete fact.

As food for thought, however, consider the publicity boost this success has given Barack Obama’s administration and next year’s presidential election.

So Why Did It Take So Long To Find Him?

The base at which Bin Laden was found was only several hundred metres away from one of Pakistan’s most advanced military training bases where the most elite of Pakistan’s troops are trained. Bin Laden’s base has been recorded as 3000 square yards in size with 14 feet (5 yard) high walls. Not only this, but the base was equipped with state-of-the-art electronic gates, with a price tag of $1,000,000. One cannot help but think that a military base would not allow such a compound to be built so close to one of their bases, or without some kind of surveillance as to what was occurring within its walls. US officials claim that its 14 foot high walls made it difficult to know what was going on inside the compound. In the age of satellites, unmanned surveillance drones and military aircraft this excuse leaves something lacking, particularly with military operations going on so close by from the Pakistani military.

Even if the military did not find the compound’s existence suspicious then perhaps the 120,000 residents of the rural town Abbottabad would have found something unusual about the existence of the high security base, pictured below.

Perhaps this points towards some kind of “cover up” in the Pakistani military of the location of Osama Bin Laden.

This is an proposal and complaint about how the college GPA calculates our grades into the traditional 4.0 GPA scale is not accurate or fair for the college students hard work done in their classes to earn good and honest grades.

Okay, at my college an “A” = 4 points, a “B” = 3 points, a “C” = 2 points, a “D” = 1 point, and an “F” or “WF” = 0 on a 4.0 GPA scale. Okay, this means you can only get a 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 point(s) factored into your 4.0 GPA Average. Now I see a major problem with how the grade levels are distributed among the increments of a 4.0 GPA scale. What do I mean? Well, let’s say we look at what grades really mean. A grade in a class measures your mastery over the subject in terms of percentage. This is true because in most classes you get a grade that is based on the famous 100% scale. Therefore, for example a 10 out 10 would be a 100%, while 5 out of 10 would be 50%. 200 out o, f 250 would be 80%. Now the same thing goes when converting these grades to the 4.0 GPA scale. An “A” equals greater than 89%, an “B” equals greater than 79%, an “C” equals greater than 69%, an “D” equals greater than 59%, and a F or WF equals less than 60%.

Now since this is true, really speaking you would think that means that a 4 = greater than 89% in your class, a 3 = greater than 79% in your class, and so on. But this is not the honest truth. All you have to do is do the math. Four divided by 4 is equaled to 100%. Three divided by 4 is equaled to 75%. Two divided by… wait a minute am I thought my college said a “B” = 3 points but obviously it equals a C in reality on a 4.0 GPA scale. Do you see a problem with this analogy, conversion, or whatever you want to call it because I do? We get assigned 3 points for a class when we have a “B” in it even though 3 points is not really equaled to a “B” on the 4.0 GPA scale. That means that we actually should have earned 3.2, for consistency I would say 3.5. In other words as you can see the way we receive grades and they are factored in our overall GPA is not accurate with the actual grade we get for our work in that class. We actually lose a couple of points by limiting the only points we can get to 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0.

A better solution to make the GPA scale more accurate would be to include the .5 increments of each of the 5 numbers above. For example instead of just using 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0 we should include in addition with these numbers 3.5, 2.5, 1.5 and .5 on a 4.0 GPA scale. This would make the GPA scale more accurate and give students a fairer truer overall GPA average of the college classes they have taken. You might ask would this make it easier for me to keep the Hope Scholarship or pass the class. Well, I let you judge from this example: “Say I have 3 “B’s” and 1 “C” for the semester. On the traditional GPA scale that means I would multiple three by three, add 2 and divide the sum of those numbers by 4 to get a GPA average for this semester of 2.75. On the other hand if you included the new additional numbers with the increments .5, I would multiply 3.5 by three since 3.5 is closer to a “B” than 3, add 3 since 3 is closer to a “C” than 2.5, and divide the sum of these numbers by 4 to get a GPA average for this semester of 3.375.” As you can see for yourself the new additional increments counted into the 4.0 GPA would allow a student to keep the Hope Scholarship and make the Honors list. You also might notice that you get .5 points more this way while the old traditional GPA scale cheats you out by .5 points when your grades get factored into your GPA using that scale.

If we used this solution it would allow more students to continue to stay in college because they would continue to receive the Hope Scholarship, stay active in Honors program, and pass their classes since you would have to score a grade of below 50% in a college class now to get less than 2 points for a course. It seems sweet doesn’t it, but I think this might not be fair for the students who worked hard to pass the class. So I think it would also make sense to say now to that an “A” = 4 points, a “B” = 3.5 points, a “C” = 3 points, a “D” = 2.5 point, and an “F” or “WF” = 2 or less on a 4.0 GPA scale. With the new GPA calculation factored into the 4.0 scale, students would be able to be more successful in college and it would be true honest success because their actually grades for their work would more truly reflect in their grade that is factored into the 4.0 GPA scale now. It also benefits the professors as well because professors could have more honest options to decide on what grade point(s) to give each student in their college class they actually deserved and earned. Plus professors would have so many students retaking the same class simply because they got a grade lower than 70% or 60% in their class. Moreover, parents would benefit because they would be able to afford to keep their kids in college with the help of the Hope Scholarship, not worry about them dropping out of college to come back home to live with them, and be more confident that they can complete college to get a successful career in the future. Not to mention it would be beneficial to the college, because it would help get rid of grade inflation and allow colleges to represent the grades of their college students more accurately among the international colleges. Final words are if this idea of how grades should be factored into the 4.0 GPA scale didn’t work, I still think we should start using a more accurate GPA scale to represent the true honest grades of our students in their college classes. If you think the traditional calculations for the 4.0 GPA scale or the 4.0 GPA scale itself should be changed then like this article to make it more visible to college students, colleges, parents, and professors out there who would be willing to fight and voice their opinion for a change in GPA calculations and scales.

Earth Hour, the time when we use no electricity for one hour in an attempt to stop environmental problems. But, are we doing more harm than help?

Earth Hour- Is It Worth It?

An article by: Matt Mulderrig

Earth Hour is when everyone is asked to shut their lights off for 1 hour to help conserve energy and reduce pollution. The average human uses 5.7 kWh of electricity per day. Multiply that by the amount of people in the world: 6,775,235,742.

This means that over 17,320 TWh of electricity are used worldwide daily. Earth Hour aims to help reduce that number by a decent amount, but is it really worth it. Recent studies say no.

Electrical grids in countries risk failure if large quantities of the population participate for Earth Hour. If an electrical grid fails, more money must be spent to repair it. Pollution is also released during the process of repairing the grid, due to energy wasted by tools in the form of friction, heat, and sound. Money that could possibly be used to repair the grid could have been put to a much more efficient way, which brings me to my next point.

Much more energy efficient lighting would save more energy than Earth Hour. By turning the lights off when you’re not in a room, switching to efficient lighting methods, and by minimizing electrical appliance use, you could make much more of an impact than turning off lights for an hour.

So, ask yourself. Do you really need that thermometer at a constant 25 degrees celsius? Do you need two televisions on while vacuuming and listening to the radio? Does the coffee maker need to be plugged in 24/7? By saying no to these simple questions, you can make much more of a conservation impact than turning your home lights off for one measly hour.

This is an article about legalizing marijuana and the proof behind it that we should!

(Note I do not smoke and never intend to)

When most people hear the word ‘Marijuana’ they cringe back or immediately say that it is wrong to be doing it; I can see why. With Marijuana being one of the most heavily used illicit drugs out there, its easy too see why many people would react badly from just hearing the name. But did you know that when used in moderation, marijuana has some of the least negative side affects of any drug and is cleaner then smoking cigarettes? Well it is true, marijuana (or ‘Kush’ as it is commonly called) has a much less of a chance to give the user lung cancer, and/or any other type of cancer associated with smoking (Mouth, gum, kidney cancer etc).

Marijuana is actually used in something most people wouldn’t think of – in medicine. Now how can an ‘evil’ illicit drug do any good for human beings you might ask; well I will tell you. Marijuana can be used in the treatment of anything from Arthritis, Appetite Loss, Depression, Nausea, Cancer, Epilepsy, even to Fibromyalgia. ["Medical Uses For Cannabis"] Now how can this be that something that is banned by the most of the world, could be so beneficial to human health? The effects of actually using the drug, in a moderated and medicinal way, include: Induced hunger, which is beneficial in the treatment of AIDS. Increased happiness ,caused by the release of Serotonin and Endorphins in the brain, which is beneficial in treating Arthritis, Depression, and alleviating some of the symptoms associated with cancer treatment.

Did you know that if at this very moment we legalized hemp (a form of Marijuana) we could keep up with the increasing needs for paper and textiles in the world. A unique property about this strain of Marijuana is the fact that it can be easily converted into a paper-like substance, that can be used in the textile, lumber, and paper industries. Now why would we need to have a readily available paper substitute? At the rate we are using trees in major areas, like the Amazon Rainforest, we will have demolished the entire rainforest by the year 2060. But through the use of different sources for paper, like hemp which is easy to grow and is environmentally friendly, we could help save the Amazon from being wiped out, and even help replenish it.

Marijuana also has something else very special about it; it does not contain the drug nicotine in it. Now what does this ‘nicotine’ have to do with anything? Well nicotine, one of the major ingredients in cigarettes, is a drug that attacks the neurons in your brain, and slowly but surely gets you addicted to it. Now what this means is that the average smoker runs a very high risk of naturally becoming addicted to the stuff. Now I’m not saying Marijuana doesn’t run the risk of addiction too, its just the fact is you might turn out to like the effects of it and want to use it more, but naturally it contains no addictive additive. Also another interesting fact about marijuana is that no one has been reported dieing from it.

All is not good with Marijuana however, if used improperly, it can actually have some serious side effects. It has over three times the amount of tar a cigarette would have, thus increasing chances of getting lung cancer by a great deal to someone who uses it on a daily basis. It can also cause men and women to become infertile from the balance of chemicals that make it up. It has also been shown that it impare’s your ability to drive, and it can even kill a vast majority of the cilia in your lungs. “The Health Effects of Marijuana” Cilia are the little hairs inside of your lungs that filter out smoke, dust, debris, etc. One of the most critical issues with Marijuana is availability. Even though it is banned in the U.S., it is more easy to come by it then cigarettes would be, thus making it possible to purchase it at a young age and potentially get hooked for life on it.

Marijuana’s benefits outway the risks, and even though it does have its short comings, it could benefit society by a good margin if it was legalized. From help with medicine, all the way to its benefits for the paper and lumber industries.

A opinion piece discussing whether or not Christopher Columbus really discover America.

Image via Wikipedia

A teacher asks the children, “Who discovered America?” The children naively scream, Christopher Columbus!!” If only they knew how much Chris and their teacher lied. I have been one of these children to scream and tell my teacher this and think that I was right. Now, that I am older, my textbook has changed courses and is telling me that Chris discovered an island, later to be named America, inhabited by Natives.

Does this mean that Chris still discovered America? Apparently America thinks so or they are just too lazy to change all the lies in the textbooks. I don’t know about anyone else, but when you sit in a chair and someone is already sitting that doesn’t that make the chair belong to the other person? If you can catch my drift. I don’t see any reason Chris should get acknowledgement for discovering something that had already been found. The way I see it the Americas were discovered by the Natives because…

1. Christopher finding the Americas was a mistake.

Chris mistakenly found the island and had no idea where he was when he hit the shore. If he had sailed a little bit farther, him and his crew would have been eaten by the Caribs and the Natives would have continued to live in peace.

2. He took credit for everything.

Christopher and his crew came unto the land and just saw land and ignore the human beings that seemed to walk around. He came and got a lot of ideas from them and magically discovered them as he did the island. He “discovered” dyes and seasoning cloves that the Natives just “happened” to have seen first. Honestly, can he do nothing for himself?

3. He was not a very good leader.

Have you ever heard the saying, “Never go to a doctor who’s office plants have died.”? Well, this is exactly what happened when Chris came to shore and brought others. They brought diseases that the Natives were not prepared for and thousands of the Natives died. If that wasn’t a bad omen, I don’t know what is. I wonder how he got himself out of that one. Dead bodies and putrid flesh are pretty hard to ignore.

After all these complications, Chris still seemed to get the praise, by just sitting one his butt and professing ‘Eureka!” after the Natives found something of interesting value. It seems like another injustice of the Americas. It is not wonder why it is like it is. It had just been the beginning of its creation when its first step was a bad one. Awesome.
