This is a suggestion to stop supermarkets and chain stores to wrap their items unnecessarily. I'd like you to tell me what you think of this.

We all know the three famous R, don’t we? We know that by collecting empty bottles and jars, they make beautiful things out of this unused glass. Out of old newspapers, magazines and cartons they make recycled writing paper. They also make interesting objects out of tins or packs.

Therefore, recycling important and so it is reusing -marmalade glass jars can be used to store sugar, salt, rice or legumes and some small and pretty ones can even be used as drinking glasses. Out of tins, we can make attractive ashtrays or little containers for savoury snacks. The list of things that we can do with these objects, part from their initial use is endless. It is a matter of imagination.

However, and although these two R’s of recycle and reuse are important, a third one such as reduce is even more important and necessary.

- At supermarkets and chain stores, items are more often than not unnecessarily wrapped up.

. Are you sure of needing_

- Meat and poultry wrapped up in plastic?

- Vegetables and fruit on trays and wrapped up on cellophane paper?

‘ Aubergines or any other veggie wrapped as though it was a Christmas present?

Not long ago, I went to buy a new recharger for my laptop. Not only it was well wrapped in a hard plastic box, but I had to get the whole of the kit with several replacement pieces when I only needed one. Why do they do it like this? I wondered. Then, I answered my own question; because of the price. They couldn’t charge a lot for a small battery recharger and a lead, so, they sell you several leads and plugs. Needless to say I’m still using the first one and I will last for a long time since I am using my PC more than I use my laptop.

So, reduce is even more important than recycling or reusing, even though, these other R’s are important and necessary for the environment.

HOW CAN WE HELP WITH THIS?

It isn’t enough with throwing everything in different containers. Doing something else is absolutely necessary.

1. Join in an ecological group to work together. There are several in the world. If there isn’t one where you live, organise your own branch of a chosen international Non-Governmental Organization.

2. If your group haven’t thought of starting a campaign for people to get conscience on the issue, you can suggest them to do it. It should start with talks and activities on the issue to bring in the people together, explaining on the need to avoid excess of wrappings at big supermarkets or chain stores. Supermarket management may say that they do this for presentation, but this is useless at the end of th day.

3. Once the group activities on such an issue became popular, attracting people, they should put it into practice. How?

4. When going shopping for food one isn’t only to take its own bag, but after passing through the cash point, one will start unwrapping everything and to leave all the unnecessary papers, plastics and boxes for the shop. Because these are extra waste we add in our bins and we don’t want this, do we?

5. Obviously, such an action must be organised with other people -the more we are the more efficient it will be. A store supervisor can stop an individual and he can even fine him, but when a group of people goes inside a shop to shop, nobody can stop them to take home what they don’t want or need.

6. We should assume such an action in the same way we learnt that it was better to bring in our own bags rather than asking for carrier bags.

Mind your waste and the environment will mind itself! Otherwise, the Earth will soon become a huge ladnfill.

I’m really interested on the topic and I’ve written here quite a number of articles on the issue. These are some of them, should you wish to have a look.

There is money to be made by recycling. Protect you planet and earn money!

As I looked at about $25 in my hand today, I figured I would write a little about how the money got there. The simple thing I did to earn a little extra money this month was recycle.

I recycled aluminum cans. This is a great way to save our planet by recycling and earn spare cash! If you or your family are big soda drinkers, I would highly recommend this. You can earn a significant amount of the money you spend on the soda back.

On Memorial Day, my family, friends, and I had a big cookout that consisted of lots of food and drinks. I put a trash bag out for people to place their soda cans in after they were empty. Then, today, I took the bag of cans (along with several others I had from the past) to the recycling center in my community. In return, they gave me the $25.

The only way it could be simpler is if the recycling center came to you. Just collect cans and turn them in for money. Save the planet and your empty pockets!

The Importance To Recycling.

In these times people need to understand the real importance of recycling and how it is becoming a big concern both people and the economy. Science has suggested to us that the earth resources are being used up too fast that it will not be able to sustain a healthy balance soon. The earth’s natural resources are being used up at such a fast rate it really proves that we are only living for today and the generation of tomorrow will have to pay for this. People and businesses who are aware of this problem realize the importance of recycling and are doing their part to help. By recycling and trying to reduce the amount of stuff we used is the only solution to try and repair and prevent damage being done and already done to the earth.

People are beginning to see the importance of recycling so much that many companies as pick up to go green motto and are using biodegradable and reusable products in their businesses. Recycling is also good for business customer relations as it show that they care about the environment and doing their part to save it, many customer will support this type of company. The amount of waste we use is growing still and we must work to prevent this as the waste we don’t recycle ends up in landfills and when we do recycle it helps to preserve our natural resource as we reuse the old material.

We all need to step up to the plate and do our part to save the planet we live on as they are far more people on earth now than ever before meaning there are far more products being used and consumed than ever before, so we can’t afford not to recycle because before we know it almost all of the earth’s natural resources would be used up.

Colorful Recycling Containers for Trash (Photo credit: epSos.de)

Once you’ve sorted your recycling, your green job on your garbage is done, right? No, says Recyclebank*, the site where you can earn points for rewards by learning how to be more environmentally sound. Follow these tips they provide to “green your garbage” and help out Mother Earth:

“Toss your trash and your waste hauler hauls it away. Out of sight, out of mind. Trouble is, all that trash piling up is increasingly, well, a pile of environmental trouble. Before you toss next time, try these strategies for reducing, reusing, and recycling first.” – Recyclebank

1. Reduce the amount of garbage you create

The first rung on the “reduce, reuse, recycle” ladder is the ultimate garbage minimizer. By consuming less, you end up tossing less.

2. Reuse items instead of throwing them away

Give new life to old items by giving them to someone who can use them or finding creative new uses for what could otherwise end up as landfill waste.

3. Recycle your garbage

By recycling your garbage, you keep valuable material out of landfills, provide resources to the recycling industry, support local jobs, and keep toxins out of soil and water.

4. Compost your biodegradable and organic waste

You don’t need a backyard to compost! All you need is a bag to collect the stuff and the commitment to keeping organic waste out of the landfill.

5. Opt for recycled-content products

Buying products made from recycled materials keeps trash out of the landfill and reuses resources rather than requiring the eco-unfriendly procurement and processing of virgin ones.

6. Dispose of household hazardous waste properly

Prevent toxic chemicals from old paint and used car oil from leaching into groundwater and soil by taking them to your local toxic roundup center.

7. Dispose of used appliances properly

Many appliances, such as refrigerators, contain chemicals that can deplete the ozone layer and must be disposed of with special care.

8. Dispose of pharmaceuticals properly

Old or unused medication can contaminate groundwater if flushed or poured down the drain. Find out the correct way to dispose of them.

9. Give your stuff away !

What’s junk to you may be a jewel to someone else.

*(Recyclebank is great, btw: I’ve gotten coupons for cans of free cat food from this site as rewards in the past; it’s a great resource and you really do get rewarded for taking care of the environment. Click here to join Recyclebank and start earning points toward discounts and rewards for helping make the Earth a better place to live.)

The Future – How is it that We Recycle?

The glaciers are melting, water levels rising, earthquakes, frequent hurricanes and ozone layer depletion – are some of the a lot of reasons “why should we recycle”. These maybe predestined eventualities in apple gift certificates the cosmic cycle of life however the human battle to survive can be made more manageable when we discover how to recycle.

This planet as well as inhabitants are significantly dependent on nature and it is abundant resources. Understanding that, the steady neglect and unenthused efforts to conserve these resources have finally began to get up to date. Sooner than we would like to think, gone will be the more trees left for lumber, fruit for sustenance, fibers for clothing and clean water to replenish your body’s needs. Man will probably be stripped naked, homeless, starving and parched while braving the extreme climate conditions. Here is the future.

It really should not be that way though, whenever we act now. The value of “why we shouldn’t let recycle?” is reiterated every time flooding in cities occur, whether or not it is due to excess pressure from storms and floods, as a result of clogged drainage systems and sewer pipes; whenever marine life prematurely dies because of toxic wastes dumped on bodies water; each time what must be an idyllic landscape gets to be a murky and filthy remembrance of man’s destructive ways. In What Ways Run out Practice How to Recycle?

Limiting the application of plastics and also other synthetic materials that aren’t biodegradable wouldn’t normally only eliminate production costs for consumer goods but would even be beneficial to apple certification training our ailing environment. It can be obligatory to be recycling materials to become reconstructed as other designs like decors, tools, artwork, building materials and containers; leftover unspoiled foods really should not be mindlessly thrown away for they may nevertheless be consumed as food or animal fodder, compost and fertilizer.

Do not the judge of what’s reusable and what’s trash. Old items can nevertheless be used by others. Donate the crooks to charity or hold a garage sale. What may be garbage to 1 person, may very well be an important provision for one more. Buy what is important and only use at the appropriate VCP510-DT interval. Diligently practice conservation of electricity and water. Use and buying issues that are eco-friendly. These might be small things but collectively, it’ll ultimately produce a significant affect nature. The method of this lifestyle may also positively influence others to accomplish exactly the same so that it is more advantageous for future years with the next our children and grandchildren.

Honestly, How come We Recycle? Recycling does and can keep a difference. The wise using both natural and man-made resources will ensure the future people in humankind will have enough food to eat, water that is clean to drink, safe air to fill their lungs with and live better, healthier lives. certifications apple Therefore, to reply to the question “why we shouldn’t let recycle?” – straightforwardly, to purchase a much better tomorrow.

4R principle be part of the recycling process. Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, and Replace.

4 this is the start made by some people who are aware of the importance of reforestation.
Here’s an explanation:
Reuse (Reusing). It’s good, if we avoid things that can only be disposable. charging the battery, be one example than we
buy a new one, which only adds to landfill waste.

Reduce (reduce). Styrofoam (cork), plastic bags and a few others, we should avoid and reduce its use. Because these items are difficult to recycle and even if the fuel could be spending more to process.

Recycle (Recycling). Like the title of this article, recycling becomes the best thing we can do and can actually benefit us find a new innovation, as well as a lucrative business field fortunately.

Replace (Replace). To reduce plastic waste and recycled goods, the goods with goods hard to safer environments. Such as replacing plastic bags with shopping bags made of cloth or replace the Styrofoam with a place where food is food from the mica.

So, spare the Earth and share inspiration!
“For lovers of the environment, recycling is an activity that makes them more intelligent with new innovations”

There is a lot of waste generated during the Christmas season. This is a time of giving, feasting, celebrating and obviously generating waste. The kind of waste generated during Christmas are mainly things like, plastic shopping bags, wrapping paper, party plates and cups which are usually plastic, food containers, car fumes (when you drive your car) among other things.

It is during such times when your kitchen is filled with plenty of bin bags filled with waste, this is a season when the earth is abused immensely with loads of waste generated during the festive season.
There are several in which you can reduce on Christmas waste without losing the holiday cheer. The following are some practical ways, in which you can use to reduce on Christmas waste.

Reuse your shopping bags

Reduce on the number of plastic bags that you go home with, after your holiday shopping. Take reusable bags with you when going for your holiday shopping and reduce on the number of plastic bags you take home this Christmas Season.

Gifting

The tradition of giving out gifts to friends, family and charities is high during the Christmas season. Give out gifts that you have never used at all to someone else. You can also give out items that you don’t need or have slightly used to charities to help you remove clutter from your home. When buying gifts, look for products that are made from recycled materials and keep the environment safe from waste.

Buy Rechargeable batteries

If most of the gifts that you are buying operate on batteries, then consider buying rechargeable batteries, rather than disposable batteries as a way of reducing on waste.
Be different this time, and give house plants or potted plants as Christmas gifts especially if the person you are buying the gift for likes gardening. You can also give out tickets to a big game as way of reducing on Christmas waste.

Gifts made out of recycled material such as welcome mat made from sisal, surface cushion tiles made from recycled tires are some of the unique gifts made from recycled material that you can give out as gifts.

Reuse wrapping paper

When wrapping Christmas gifts, you should make use of reusable decorative boxes or gift bags instead of buying more wrapping paper. You can cut the pictures of old Christmas cards and use them creatively as gift tags.
Buy Christmas cards made from recycled paper or send e-cards instead, and save on stamps and that don’t require you to drive when delivering them.

Use last year’s decorations

Instead of buying new decorations every year, use the old ones and reduce on Christmas waste. After every Christmas season, keep the decorations for reuse the following year and reduce on waste and save some money.

Recycle as much as possible

After the holiday celebrations, it is time to clean up the mess. Start with the paper waste, if there are pieces of paper that you can reuse, keep them.

There are some towns that have paper recycling projects, you can take the paper waste to such a place for recycling as a way of reducing on waste. Save any reusable ribbons, gift bags, cards and other materials for next year instead of buying new ones.

Other items that can be recycled

Instead of throwing away bottles, plastics, card-boards, cans, you can recycle these items and reduce on the waste. Clean all your glass jars and cans and keep them for future use instead of trashing them

You should also recycle your Christmas tree and store it away until next year. Buy an artificial tree which you can use for many years. According to Cygnus Groups and the Environmental News Network, About 50 million Christmas tress are purchased in the U.S. About 30 million of these trees go to the landfill. 1 acre of Christmas trees produces a daily oxygen supply for 18 people

Prepare only what you can consume

During the Christmas season, most people are fond of preparing excessive amounts of food. Food is an organic compound and it generates methane gas if the waste is not properly managed. When you compost your food waste properly, you will be helping the planet.

Give gifts that promote life style changes that are Eco friendly

Gifts such as cloth napkins and a matching tablecloth, a compost bin, reusable picnic sets, stationary made from recycled paper are among the many items that you can offer as gifts this Christmas season.

Christmas wrapping paper has more potential than just holding the presents for a few days. It can be put to another use - from reuse to recycling there are options. Read here what they are.

Recycling Christmas wrapping paper has not yet become a common thing to do, we all need to pay just a little bit more attention to what happens to it after it’s been used. Christmas presents can’t just be handed over, they have to be nicely wrapped in beautiful shiny Christmas wrapping paper with Santa, snow man, reindeer or star ornaments on them, because the attraction lies in the secret what’s in them, and the whole purpose in the mad rush of excitement when they are unveiled ripping the Christmas wrapping paper apart into thousand pieces.

Image via Wikipedia

Recycle your Christmas paper? Right – once the ceremony is over and everybody gets busy with sampling their presents, or gather at the Christmas dinner table and chat about who has got what, the paper heaps up in an unsightly irregular mountain next to the Christmas tree, and is completely forgotten. Later or even only the next morning, everything gets dumped into the general rubbish bin. It is a huge amount of paper, which goes to waste every Christmas, but could be recycled in one or another form.

If you’d like to recycle your Christmas wrapping paper after it’s been used for wrapping the presents, so what could you do, or what are the options for recycling?

1) Put it simply into the recycling bin. This especially applies if it has been torn apart into pieces.

Picture via Wikipedia

2) If you are a little bit more careful, and think of it in advance, you could just unwrap your presents with the required care, which leaves the sheets intact, and allows you to re-use them next Christmas for presents of a similar size. Think ahead! That will save you from buying more Christmas wrapping paper next year.

3) Decorative or ornamental use. Most Christmas wrapping papers have lovely prints with ornaments you could re-use for making Christmas cards or something similar for another Christmas yet to come. Cut them off neatly with a pair of scissors and store them in a box for card making. Alternatively, you could make some Christmas tree decorations from these ornaments, if you reinforce the with pieces of card board and make holes into them. This will provide you with free Christmas tree decorations of unique value.

I hope this has given you some inspiration, not to discard of the Christmas wrapping paper too carelessly this time, but pay a little bit more attention to what can be done with it. Our environment will thank you for it.

A health advocate for the environment is a person who takes actions to protect the environment. Health advocates for the environment avoid actions that might harm the environment. There are several ways you can be a health advocate for the environment.

You can make sure your actions serve as an example to others. You can precycle, reuse, and cycle. You can encourage other people to precycle, reuse, and recycle. You can conserve energy and water, and encourage others to do the same. By the same token, you can avoid taking any actions that might harm the environment. For example, you can dispose of hazardous waste at a collection facility instead of dumping it down the drain. You can encourage others to dispose of hazardous waste properly.

You can work on environment projects in your community. For example, you can pick up trash in a park or along a road or stream. You can plants trees. You can organize or improve a community recycling program. You can join an organization that works on environment projects.

You can produce accurate messages about the environment. An accurate message is a message that is based on scientific research and is supported by several different sources. You can research environment topics that interest you and share your findings with others. You write letters to companies and elected officials about environmental issues. When you produce accurate messages, you can encourage other people to promote a healthful environment.

Learn some inside benefits to reducing, reusing, recycling.

Have you been bombarded with advertisements and news stories about the desperate shape our planet is in and thought to yourself, “I’m only one person, I can’t even put a dent in what needs to be done to make things better?” With all of the media coverage on issues like, acid rain, loss of rain forests, endangered animals, the depleting ozone layer and even former Vice President Al Gore’s pet project, global warming, it’s an easy thing to feel over-whelmed and small on this great space. But the reality is this; if not you, then who?

As an individual you can’t control factories pouring toxins into water ways or prevent oil leaks that endanger some species, but you can make an impact, none the less. How? First, by not adding to the madness and wasteful ways others are handling items and materials that can be recycled and secondly, and maybe more importantly, you can make an impact by being a leader in the crusade to save the planet by doing the right things.

It’s a well-known fact that when we are parents we are the top role-models for our children and that they will imitate what they see us do. Even if you are not a parent, you can still lead the way for others by taking on the awesome responsibility of being the leader. Imagine the people you come in contact with in your neighborhood who see that you don’t just talk about recycling but every week your trash collection is separated and ready for the recycle truck. What if the people you work with come to notice that instead of having your coffee every morning in a throw-away cup from the local coffee chain, you are drinking from a mug you brought from home that you rinse out and reuse? Can you just imagine the impact you would have for someone who is maybe not quite recycling like they should but decides that, after seeing that you take this responsibility seriously, decides to change the way they do things and follow suit?

Most people don’t recognize the impact they have everyday on people in their lives that they may or may not have a connection with. As a leader you “walk the talk” by abiding by the causes that mean the most to you and not just by saying the words. We are all aware of people around us and never know what we may do that will make a difference for another person. Don’t misuse this opportunity to make an impact for recycling.

When you recycle yourself, believe that there are people who are watching and making decisions everyday, by watching how you handle yourself. Big issues are often started with a few concerned, aware people, well before the word gets out to big corporations and law makers that there is a change that needs to be made.

Make every step you take count for something. Do your part in the efforts to keep our planet healthy; reduce, reuse, recycle.
