Marvelous things happen beneath the skin in the heat of the sweat bath. The capillaries dilate permitting increased flow of blood to the skin in an attempt to draw heat from the surface and disperse it inside the body. The bather’s skin becomes cherry red. The heart is pressed into a faster pace to keep up with the additional demands for blood. Impurities in the liver, kidneys, stomach, muscles, brain, and most other organs are flushed out by the faster flow of juices. The skin and kidneys filter the wastes, excreting them in sweat and urine.

Exercise Your Heart!

Some researchers claim that the rapid flexing of the heart and blood vessels in the heat of the sweat bath is a healthy exercise that puts little more strain on the heart than strolling on level ground. The increased capillary volume, they say, keeps blood pressure normal. Other medical people, however, qualify their commendations. One Finnish study observed that whereas blood pressure of healthy persons remains approximately normal in a sweat bath, there occurs a marked reduction of pressure in persons suffering from high blood pressure. However, this effect is only transient,

How Hot Do We Get?

While the surface temperature of the skin may rise as much as 1O degrees C, inner temperature increases up to 3 degrees C. This is the “fever” that Hippocrates and generations of medical people after him sought, and is created as one reclines in a sweat bath! Of course it is unlikely that “every disease” can be cured by fever, but it is common knowledge that many bacterial and viral agents do not survive well at temperatures higher than normal body temperature. It is also possible that damaged cells repair themselves quicker in fever conditions due to the increased metabolic rate. Recovery from illness then comes easier and quicker.

The inner temperature rise also affects the function of important endocrine glands, the pituitary in particular. Located in the bottom center of the brain, the pituitary is known as the master gland because its hormones regulate both metabolism and the activity of other glands such as the thyroid, adrenal, ovaries and testes. Urged by the heat, the pituitary accelerates the body’s metabolism and affects the interplay of several of the body’s hormones. Some people have gone as far to say that sex drive is increased and growth stimulated in the sauna bath.

Exercise Your Lungs Too!

The oxygen needs of the body increase by about 2O percent so the lungs, another important eliminator of body wastes, join in the body’s quickened pace. (The lungs’ rapid exchange of carbon dioxide for oxygen is hindered in some sweat baths. In high humidity water condenses on the tiny alveoli where this exchange takes place and breathing may be slightly more difficult. On the other hand, if the air is too dry, as occurs in many American saunas, mucous membranes may become dry and damaged.) Clogged respiratory passages are opened by heat, giving relief from colds and other minor respiratory problems. Sweat bathing is not recommended for those suffering from pneumonia or other acute respiratory diseases.

Take a break from your life and blend into theirs for a while!!

If you usually spend most of your time with people of the same age as you, then try to change that.Hanging out with different age groups has its benefits.

Hang out with older people!!

you’ll get to listen to a lot of stuff,& you’ll learn to shut up for a change. Not that I’m assuming you’re a talkative person, but when you’re around an older person, you do realize they like to talk, a lot. Try listening to them, they have stories to tell that might impress you, teach you or simply entertain you. They might be repetitive at times, but just taking a time out of your life & being a listener for a while would make you reflect on your life depending on what you’ve been hearing from someone who has been living on earth for more than 60 decades. Can you even imagine the amount of things & experiences they have to talk about.!!

Plus, there is just something about old people that gives you this inner warmth, that’s a bonus =)

Now, after you’ve done your listening, you need to do your action.

Hang out with kids !!

Yup, kids will make you forget who you are & go wild.Rediscover your inner child, move around, jump, dance, play .. You need this physical activity. It’ll make you feel more alive than ever. You’ll laugh, that’s a guarantee !!Kids tend to liberate us from feelings of commitment, stress & responsibility, that is if you REALLY let go & try to be yourself around them & drop all the weight you’ve been carrying on your shoulder.Don’t just hang with them like a guardian or a chaperone, hang with them like you’re their friend, mingle, join the activity,Specially, if it’s something you haven’t done in ages.

Trust me, you’ll feel so liberated & revived that you’ll have this foolish smile on your face when you go back to resume you’re work & routine.

You Will Be REFRESHED!!

Goals for the coming year.

Okay, this time it is my fault. I realize that I have been remiss in corresponding with you and I am extremely sorry for that. (Do you like my big fancy words? You know that I don’t talk like this much less write like this.) I have tried a couple of times to sit down and write and I have actually started, but then something calls me away. Usually the kids; and then I get side-tracked.

The holidays were better for us this year than in previous years. Not just because we had some money to spend, but because I wasn’t as stressed as I usually get, especially with all the family get-togethers. I wish I knew why I put so much pressure on myself to perform a certain way or do so much, maybe it has to do with wanting to be a superwoman. But thinking about it, there really is no superwoman, it is all in our minds. Even our mothers couldn’t do everything. Things did suffer, we just didn’t see it or we didn’t pay attention.

So I think that my goal this year, at least one of my goals, will be to just relax. To not get so wrapped up in how I should or should not perform. To enjoy the moment. To pray more. To teach more. To be me more.

XXOO

It’s now a New Year which means a new resolution, but how will you actually follow through your New Year resolution?

Here is an interesting fact, 45% of Americans usually set New Year’s Resolutions; Only 8% of people are always successful in achieving their resolutions. Then you have 19% achieve their resolutions every other year. 24% (one in four people) NEVER succeed and have failed on every resolution every year. That means that 3 out of 4 people almost never succeed. Want to be a part of that 8% or 19%? Here are some of my secrets in keeping your resolution; these are 6 easy simple way to follow through with your goal this year.

These simple ways will help you eat healthier, lose weight, read more, exercise, and try different thing. These steps are universal step, which means they will work for any New Year Resolution.

1. Tell other people your goals for this year; announce them on your social networks like face book, my space, and twitter. Tell all your friends and family your goal and your plan to achieve this goal. Make yourself accountable for your goals by exposing your goal.

2. Don’t use time, just reminders because things change and it’s hard to set a certain time for one thing every day. For example if your resolution is to go to the gym more, set a reminder every evening that way when you wake up and your planning you daily schedule you can set a time for that day to go to the gym.

3. Set mini goals in between now and the time you want to achieve you big goal. If you put in mini goals in between then you will feel that you resolution is more achievable and you won’t get overwhelmed. For example if your resolution is to read more books this year, then start out reading 25 pages a day for a month, then read 50 pages a day next month. These mini goals will help you feel like you’re making progress.

4. Once you have completed a few mini goals find some gadgets that will help you achieve your goal. If your goal is to read more then get a nook or kindle, if you’re trying to lose weight go online and join a diet program that will help you set meal plans, exercising plans and a log of your progress. Technology is out there to help with almost any resolution you just need to find it.

5. Find a community or group to interact with while trying to accomplish your goal. There are tons of online communities doing the same thing as you and they are great to turn to for advice or support if you start feeling overwhelmed. An online community is way to turn you resolution more fun, interact with other people, and make new friends.

6. Keep track of your progress by starting a blog or journal and add pictures and add quotes to your blog or journal. This will be a good tool to keep your motivation, prove to yourself that you’re making progress and a great way use the notes to evaluate what you could do to improve.

These are all great ways to help you achieve your goal and help fit your goal in with your everyday life style but these steps won’t complete your goal for you so go out there, get started and just do it.

Sometimes all of the Christmas cheer, shopping, etc makes us all want to rip our hair out. This guide informs you on how to relax during the holidays.

Relax with Hot Cocoa

There’s nothing better than sitting by the fire on a cold winter day, with a nice mug of hot cocoa in your hands. Sit back, relax, and enjoy peace.

Reminders of Quiet

Remember to remind your kids to be calm, relaxed, quiet, and good during the Christmas season, or Santa won’t bring them presents! A household of quiet always helps the holiday nerves.

Christmas Music

Listening to Christmas will get you to enjoy the holidays. The music may be nice at first, but make sure you don’t listen to it too much, or it may start to annoy you.

Family Activities

Enjoy yourself by setting up some family activities or events during the Christmas time. This may be something like helping make breakfast, setting up the Christmas tree, or maybe something exciting like ice skating. Be creative and make your kids love the season!

Comment

Be sure to comment and include your thoughts and ideas. How do you relax during the holidays, so that you don’t become stressed out over everything? What are some fun activities you and your family do?

From simple clear reflection on the eyes, I know I could feel it.

What you see is sometimes more important than what you hear. When talking to a person, what I see from the person’s face and the gestures greatly influence the way I appreciate his/her message. That is one important thing I look to find the person’s sincerity. From simple clear reflection on the eyes, I know I could feel it.

During my recent travel to a vacation island, I thought the pump boat would flip over. The waves were like vicious beasts as we cross the blue sea. I was relieved when I learned that it was only a 10-minute travel. If it lasted for at least 1 hour bouncing and gripping on the wooden seats of the boat, perhaps I would go throw my stomach out.

I was 1 of the 8 passengers on the boat and there were only 3 crew navigators. As we stepped on the ladders of the dancing boat, some of the passengers were horrified. They were whispering words of panic. I wasn’t alarmed by what I heard because I have been to worse sea travels before. When I saw their pale faces, I got a little worried. I studied the life jacket above my head remembering how to put on it. I imagined myself swimming hopelessly through the big waves slowly swallowing me down. That would be a sad ending of my life. All of my pending dreams began fading out in the air. My mind shouted “I can’t die this way. Not this time!”

I looked at the driver’s “mini-cockpit”. I saw every inch of his muscles struggling to maneuver the steering wheel. It seemed like he was wrestling a big monster trying to kill him. This thought made me wonder if I were in his place, I didn’t think I could do just what he did. While busy on the wheel, he also gave instructions to his crew members who were busy on their navigation routines. His voice was powerful yet polite enough to win over the respect of his crew members.

In an instant the driver looked straight into my eyes as if he knew I studied his every move. Peace and calmness, I saw on his face. I knew he wasn’t worried. Probably he had been to navigate on worse conditions. I knew he was more than positive about what he was doing. Right there and then, I knew I would be safe that time. There was magic in his stare that tamed my worries.

This old guy didn’t even talk to any of us passengers but his warm and calm face was more than an assertion that everything was alright. If his face showed panic, I think I would also panic. That’s how important a person’s gestures and facial expressions are!

Because no one likes sad, grumpy people, here are some tips to stay positive in any situation.

Sometimes we just don’t feel like doing anything but that’s just wrong because at the end of the day you’ll be like “oh, I could’ve done something useful today ” and to avoid that, I’ll give some advisable tips you can follow:

1.NEVER do something later when you can do it right now, that is called laziness and you don’t need it.

2.At the beginning of each new day remember yourself how lucky you are for being alive and feel proud about it.

3.Remember that having negative feelings will only hurt you and your health.

4.Always look on the bright side , because everything has its bright side.

5.Think what you are going to say before you say it , it may hurt someone.

6.You can practice yoga, it will help you get ll the negative feelings out.

7.Never respond when you are not calm. If you are not sure that you are calm, don’t respond. Take time to calm yourself down first.

8.Look at the negative situations as your training sessions for real life. The higher you climb in life, the worse the negative situations would be, so you’d better be prepared for them.

9.Love every single detail of good situations and be grateful you are living them.

10.Realize that there is only one life and that’s it. Live your life to the fullest and the more positive you are the more you will enjoy you life!

Even though it may be, and will be, difficult.

Life is hard, and it only gets harder.

This is what I have heard for a good portion of my life. Recently, I had heard this same line repeated while I was in the grocery store, and it made me think about my own life. For the rest of the day, while on my way home, while taking a shower, while mowing the lawn(though maybe not in that order), I continued to think about that statement. It was a conversation between a mother and her daughter about how hard it was for them since her daughter would be going off to college soon, and how big of a change it would be in the family. The daughter stated that the previous couple of years, the family had struggled, and she told her mother she didn’t want there to be any more struggling. That is when her mother stated that quote mentioned above. It probably wouldn’t have struck me as hard if it hadn’t actually been relevant to my current situation; after all, I go off to college in just a week from now, and I couldn’t be more nervous. And yet, I’m also quite calm about the situation. A bit of an oxymoron if you ask me: How can you be nervous AND calm? Preposterous! And yet, I guess I found a way.

For those that haven’t kept up with my articles, the previous few years for my family hasn’t been a walk in the park; while most of the stress came from my grandmother, quite a bit was built up from my oldest sister, as well. Two years ago, my grandmother had been forced into retirement when the padding in her back had completely failed her, and she had trouble getting around for a few months. Less than a year later, she developed cancer, and had a long, and successful thankfully, struggle going through chemo. In the process, her teeth began to fall out, and she was losing hair. The cancer recently disappeared, and she was given dentures, which are still entirely uncomfortable for her, since it sometimes takes up to a year to be able to eat normally again once you get them.

Aside from troubles with my grandmother, stresses have come from my sister, whom we could swear is a kleptomaniac. Over the years, she has stolen more money from the family than the bank from its citizens, and yet she’ll swear that we’ve just “misplaced” it all. Because it is entirely possible that over the course of five years or so, our family has “misplaced” nearly $8,000, a majority of our movies and games, and some old, very rare comics, and that all of this is just laying around the house somewhere. Sorry tuts, that little excuse doesn’t work on us moderately intelligent individuals. She also suffered from a prescription drug addiction for a while, so we’re all pretty certain to where that money is going, though she swears that she is no longer a drug user.

I do not tell you all of this to get any smiles of admiration, or to invoke any pity; in fact, I tell you this to show you that life does not always get harder than what you’re used to. I am a firm believer that life will always get better over time, and even though things may not look too great to you, it never hurts to look into someone else’s life. Whenever I used to feel sorry for myself, I would look at people who grew up with their parents and would feel horrible. But then I would go home and realize that most of these people would never develop such a relationship with their parents AND grandparents. I chose not to know my father, and I was able to get to know my mother before she passed away years ago, AND I have lived with my grandmother since I was nine months old. I’ve been given the chances to share my life with so many great people, and so I’ve realized that there is no need to feel sorry for myself. There is no need to feel down all the time, because even though life will get hard sometimes, it will only seen over-bearing if you LET it. There is nothing in life that one cannot get through if they have the right attitude in mind.

As I move onto college next week, I have feared for a good portion of the summer that things may get quite over-bearing at times. I have heard horror stories of people, just like myself, that ended up losing their mental fortitude because of all the stresses college life brings on. I have heard that the work takes up a large portion of your time, and trying to balance a job is practically suicide. I have heard that professors are complete nightmares sent up from Satan himself to destroy our puny little spirits. I have heard that living away from family when you’ve never done it in your life before eats away at the subconscious, causing a home-sickness that not even the best of medicines can treat. I have heard all of these things, and I know that these things will not effect me. I am not better than any single living person on this planet, and yet I know the same things that will eat away at the hearts of many will not eat away at me. How do I know this? I am going in with an idea in mind; an idea that anything life throws my way, whether it a curve ball, a change up, or a fast ball, I’m positive I can hit it out of the park. The right attitude is key to moving forward in life.

This does NOT just relate to me at all. I am not writing this article to gloat some hallucinogenic idea of grandeur; I am writing this article to tell you that if I can jump into something with the idea that I can do it, that anyone can do it. Its the idea of “if he can do it, you can do it,” except this doesn’t just hold true in one situation. If you believe that you can one day become a great musician, with great practice and dedication, you can. If you believe that you will some day own your own company, with the right mind set, along with taking steps towards doing it, you can do that, as well. I cannot stress this enough: If you truly want to move forward in life, you HAVE to practice the mind set that you CAN do it. Life will pile on the crap, believe me. Sometimes it may seem like you are sitting in a rather large crap sandwich that you just cannot escape, and you will want to give up. But the thing to remember is that life will not throw anything at you that cannot be handled if one tries hard enough. The human mind is capable of some truly amazing things, and if you know how to use it, you’ll always come out on top.

This article is not meant to sound preachy, nor is it meant to change the type of character that you may be. In fact, I am going to dedicate this article to someone: I dedicate this article to that women and her daughter in the grocery store. I dedicate this article to all of the people that feel they can no longer carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. I dedicate this article to every man, woman, and child that feel that they do not have the will power to continue on. And of course, I dedicate this article to myself, as I feel that one must believe something before they share it with others. This is not something that you have to do in life, and if you choose not to have this ideology, then I wish you the best in life, as well. I live my life as an optimist, and I believe that a bit of optimism will forever change the way one will look at something. The best thing to do in situations where things just feel too hard is to just sit back, relax, take a deep breath, and laugh. I hope I didn’t put anyone to sleep with this article, I know it definitely is a wide step to the left of what I usually write, but I wanted to share my thoughts on life, especially since I know there will always be those struggling in this world. My usually sarcastic articles will return next time! If you would like to comment, share your opinion, or anything else, please feel free to do so, and as always, thanks for reading.

Do you think that school is too long and needs to be shortened by a few hours? Here's my opinion on this troublesome topic.

School hours should definitely and without a doubt be shortened. The current school hours are too long and some of the time spent learning will not have an effect unless the individual is going to get a specific job. For example, History, Science and Art all do not have a proper use unless the person is going to have a career in one of those topics. Another reason why school hours should be shortened is that students need time to study and do their homework or attend a sports club if they have one. The long school hours would mean that students have less time to interact with things outside of school. School places a lot of pressure on students. If a few hours of school were taken away, the students would still likely to complete all their work and get a better score. Therefore, school hours should definitely be shortened.

During school, students normally learn a mixture of subjects. However, some of these subjects are not as favorable as others. Science, although used for some purposes, is not that beneficial to learn as it is mostly used by doctors and scientists. History is also a time wasting subject because not that much is needed to loosely understand the past, however there are a few hours spent on it. Art is only used a lot if the student wants a career in art or illustration. Not many people grow up to do these things so they should be cut from the school schedule. If the student wants to attend those classes they can go to them after school in their own time. This means that there is less school time and it should happen so that school hours can be shortened.

Another reason why school hours should be shortened is because of a lack of studying. This leads to bad grades and uneducated students. The teacher would then give more homework so that the student could catch up. However this would be an unending cycle of the student not learning anything. All that is needed to do to solve this is to just shorten the school hours so that the students actually have enough time to do their homework. Sport clubs is another issue. The students may attend outside from school sports training. They may not be able to attend though because of the long school hours and their homework. Many of these clubs also charge money even if the participants do not attend. If there is too much homework, and the student needs to go to the sports training, they may have to stay up late to finish their homework. The lack of sleep may make them perform badly at school. So in the end, more school hours means less education. Therefore, school hours should no doubt be reduced.

Long school hours places an enormous amount of pressure on students. They have to wake up everyday, knowing that they have about seven hours of school ahead to them. Going through this routine everyday would mean that the students might get tired and not be able to concentrate on their work properly. They may become slack and not complete all of their school work. If a few hours of school were cut back, the student may not be so anxious about going to school. They would be able to concentrate better and learn more. Instead of a slow start to the day, the students would be awake because of more time to relax and sleep. Because of all these excellent things that come with less school time, it is true that school hours should be shortened by a few hours.

Sometimes school teaches unnecessary subjects. They may also give out too much homework without enough time to complete it. That is why, in the end, school hours should be shortened.
